Woah what a terrific Mediterranean served fresh dish. This is a new and must visit place in Fredericksburg,VA. The unfortunate thing about having spicy cabbage and chicken is not having the water working properly and having the drink dispenser broken. Many of their drink oprions that sound good such as Classic Lemonade and the Mexican Coke was out. Was forced to drink lukewarm Jasmine tea instead tame the heatness of some of my bites. We went here today for the first time to see what it was all about and immediately upon walking up to the counter had an employee that was on break helping herself to a cup of soup and scooping rice into it which wasn't a problem. What she did next really disgusted me cause she started eating the rice off the top of her soup over the meal that the other employee was making. It was unsanitary for a number of reasons but mainly cause she was using her fingers and the rice was falling out onto the floor and counter. After we got through that the second girl that helped us seemed to be absolutely miserable. She had the most annoyed look on her face and did not say 2 words to us. Overall the food was ok but the experience really turned us off from coming back. I hope they figure the customer service piece out cause this place has potential and could be great. I've been here a couple of times and I always go inside to eat. The food is super yummy and flavorful and when i go inside they usually super fill up my bowl but today I ordered online for pickup because we didn't have a lot of time. I got there early so I went around again and by the second time around they had my food. I opened the box and first of all it was cold even though they had apparently just made it and second they had barely filled my bowl with any rice or chicken. There was close to nothing in my bowl. I got a grain bowl with saffron basmati rice, harissa and roasted red pepper hummus, chicken protein, pickled onions, tomato + cucumber, cabbage slaw with lemon wedges. A few days again I came in, and I was having a really terrible day, but that all changed when a girl (I believe her name was Katelyn) with shining smile and a radiant personality helped me here. She was funny and kind and extremely helpful! She seemed less like an employee and more like a friend. The new Cava is amazing! The building itself is beautifully designed and located in a super convenient spot in town. The food is delicious and healthy. You can taste the freshness and don't feel weighed down after finishing a whole meal. But the best part about this place is definitely the staff! Everyone is extremely welcoming and friendly. They are happy to answer any questions you have about the menu and offer their recommendations if you're unsure of what to order. I come to this Cava ALL the time. Typically I utilize the order ahead and drive up process. This time I came into the establishment. What a misstake! I felt like I was rationed out small portions of everything besides rice and this isn't even chipotle. I get two half proteins and decide to add on "a little" roasted vegetables. The response from the male preparing my bowl was, "that's going to be extra" I said that's fine thinking I would get more than TWO pieces of cauliflower and TWO Brussels sprouts by no exaggeration. Toppings consisted of a tablespoon of each item that I ordered and TON of dressing to cover up the lack of substance provided for a whopping 17 dollars. I had to ask to see the break-down before paying because I have never paid that much for one single grain bowl. I'm addition the complementary pita that is suppose to be included in my order was never offered (shocker!) so of course I asked for it. This guy was acting like every scoop came out of his paycheck and for the price I should be getting a little MORE than the small rations he provided. Being cost effective and skimping your guests are two different things that must be learned here. read more

They don't tell u when your adding things to your salad that cost more I have been three times and different prices every time for same salad one time $12 then $14. Then $17. Are u crazy. $17 for one salad. Apparently cheese is a protein extra money. Sweet potatoes are a protein extra money The roasted veggies they have there extra money. So no more cava for me. The food was excellent. I am giving it 3 stars for 2 reasons. When my husband asked for extra toppings (vegetables) the lady said it was an extra2.50. The sign clearly says unlimited toppings. She must have been confused, he clarified again but she still said it's an extra 2.50 so he didn't get extra veggies. The size small fountain soda is $5. That's outrageous. I've never been to a restaurant, sit down or fast food that charges that much for a fountain drink. Immediately noticed server behind counter was not wearing face mask, although everyone else working behind counter was masked. So happy we finally have a CaVa in the Burg. I could eat their food every day. Unfortunately, I really can't figure out why they selected the location. They DO NOT have enough parking. Ive managed to eat at this new location (old bank building) three times now BUT there have been seven times when I drove to CaVa but could not find a parking space so I left. Guess I'll stick to eating at the one in Reston. Hope the can lease some nearby land or something so they can add parking. read more

I ordered the mini pita today at 11:15 AM & it was delicious! The ingredients were very fresh. The food here is worth every penny & great customer service. This has been my favorite 'fast food' place for years (in Fairfax). I was so happy when they brought one to Fredericksburg! In addition to the food being amazing, the staff at this location are always in great moods and are very friendly. I don't know how management does it, but they hire the right folks (and keep the place clean and the food fresh). Because of this, we come here at least once a week. read more

This is my first time trying CAVA and it didn't live up to the hype. The meat was delicious and they have plenty of choices. The down side was the pita I ordered was stale and hard. Some of the sauces were lacking flavor and one of the girls making my order was very rude and not friendly at all. Don't do the online ordering thing in fact don't go it all. Three times now we have ordered online and picked up at their window and the order has been missing our extra proteins. Of course we notice by the time we get home we are missing what we paid EXTRA for. The third time I looked at my order right there. They then proceeded to lie saying they didn't have it then I asked them why I was I still charged for it then or not even notified about it. Then she said well you didn't order it. I pulled the receipt out and showed them then I was told welll SHE decided to give me something else. She just kept argguing with me about my order for about 10 min until finally she gave in and gave us our right order and what do you know all the things we ordered that she said they didn't have magically appeared. Even when you go into this location the staff has extremely rude attitudes and it's like you are inconveniencing them by walking in. Also DO NOT ASK FOR MILITARY DISCOUNT!!!! My husband asked for a military discount and the girl made a huge scene and proceeded to say " No we don't offer it , I don't understand why you people always trying to get something for free" it's sad this company is in a very dominant military area and they have employees with such a lack of professionalism and respect. I have been a fan of CAVA in NOVA and was very happy to see one pop up in Fredericksburg. The food is delicious and whether you are a vegan, a vegetarian or a meat lover- there are plenty of tasty, healthy choices to choose from. The Fredericksburg location is all that you have come to expect if you have tried them before. But I have to say, I was blown away by the exceptional customer service that I received from Alex and his staff. I had a big catering order for a group that was excited to try CAVA, Alex went out of his way to ensure that it was a fantastic experience. It was as though I brought the restaurant to them! My office LOVED the food, it was a lot of fun to see people try foods that they might not ordinarily try and realize that they really liked them. And it was nice to have people who love a certain food finally NOT have to go to NOVA to be able to enjoy them. Great experience, great food, go give them a try! read more
