I usually place an order when it's busy (lunch time) and I go in 10-15 min after the time I'm notified it will be ready and sometimes it's still not ready which is ok I get it, it's busy. Today I go in late not as busy as usual. I get there 20 minutes after I'm told it would be ready and there are no orders in their usual pickup area. The cashier and any other employee fail to acknowledge me or the person that was waiting before me. The cashier keeps ringing people up and even washes their hands in between customers. The sink is right next to the orders and where I and the other gentleman are waiting and still no acknowledgment. I finally take it upon myself to grab my order as it's now 30 minutes after it's supposed to be ready and an employee finally has the awareness to acknowledge me asking for proof of order. I show him my text and he says "That's all you had to do". The nerve of this employee to even say that when no one in the restaurant can even acknowledge you even something as simple as "we'll be right with you" would be nice. I am officially a CAVA fan now. The structure reminds me of chipotle, but the food is more unique and healthy to me. I decided to build my own green & grains bowl ($14.05) to try as much as I could. I packed on the splendid greens, black lentils, dips (harissa, red pepper hummus, and crazy feta), mains (spicy lamb meatball and harissa honey chicken), pretty much every topping, and dressings (yogurt dill and skhug). Everything tasted delicious and I enjoy coming here because it's the type of food I wouldn't be able to make myself. My only learning is that the olives are too salty for me, so I'll leave those out next time! read more

Food is great! Every time I visit this location the tables and floors are dirty. Trash cans overflowing. When the tables do get wiped off the rags used are filthy looking. Food crumbs are swiped to the floor and not swept up till later I guess???Seems like there is no manager keeping an eye on the place as a whole. Just every team member for themselves. I'm a fan of Mediterranean food so I was excited to try CAVA. I've visited several times. Overall, this is basically the Mediterranean Chipotle. Pros: -A basic "Build Your Own" salad bowl is relatively inexpensive (~$13 tax included) -Variety of options to mix/match your bowl, with unlimited free toppings -Pita is solid Cons: -Can get pricey quick if you want any protein besides basic chicken or a side besides the free small pita. Jumps from $13 to $17 (if you added the least expensive upgraded meat & regular pita). This doesn't include the popular items or a drink. The first time I went, I accidentally spent around $25! -The free side of pita is only a 3 inch slice. -The flavor comes from the sauces and dips, not really the meats/proteins (in my experience). In general, if you don't mind spending the extra money for a quick meal that at least feels healthy, then this works. But quality + flavor may need some improvement. Came to the El Segundo location on 3/27 @ 5:11 PM. Ordered a 'build a bowl' to go. I was looking forward to enjoying this meal but when I opened the lid, I first thought they gave me the wrong order because I didn't see the 2 hummus' and tzatiki, but upon further inspection, I found them smashed under all the toppings. As I began to eat, I would get a mouth full of the hummus that I was expecting to put on my pita bread. However, my biggest upset was the brown rice. It was way under cooked. Getting hard grains of rice in the first few bites made me give up on the meal I was looking Forrest l forward to. Suggestions: - training on how to cook brown rice. - put the hummus on at the end of the assembly line so it doesn't dissappear in the meal and offers a better presentation. Thank you! read more

Disappointing Experience at CAVA - El Segundo I just had a very disappointing experience at the CAVA in El Segundo. I came in for a simple take-out bowl and chose my greens, asking for a little Splendid Greens and a little arugula. Then I asked for brown rice, and the employee told me I would have to pay extra. I was surprised, because with the "create your own" bowls, everything is typically included. She then informed me that I could only pick one type of greens. When I told her to just remove the arugula, she threw the entire bowl of lettuce away and gave me attitude the rest of the time. She was unfriendly, dismissive, and acted as if I was inconveniencing her. A simple, friendly explanation would have gone a long way--something like, "It's okay this time, but just so you know, next time you can only pick one base." Instead, her behavior made the whole experience uncomfortable. Very disappointing service, and definitely not what I expect from CAVA. I will never go back there. read more

Service was great and efficient even during lunch rush! as always :) I build my own bowl which is always so delicious!! and the portions are always generous, I usually have left overs! 100% recommend! So yummy, I crave it every week! Their cucumber refresher is also really good! This location is clean and the food is always fresh :) I love that they have inside and outside seating. Welp writing another great review! Had to go back so I had this place two days in a row. And again I am a very happy customer! Colby again was very hands on and helpful getting me to try something new! Great customer service 10/10. (He Also suggested to mix the two "in house" made juices which were the Pineapple Citrus with the Lemonade, great combination!) Today I decided to change it up a little with what I ordered and decided to try the steak instead of the chicken, and it was amazing! Very savory cut pieces of steak in a bowl and the mediterranean style rice was excellent. The toppings I decided to get were, olives, cabbage, tomatoes, and the spicy hummus This place does not compare. It's basically a mediterranean style chipotle! Also the sauce served which I believe is basil is a great add in to any bowl or pita wrap. The place is booming with business, clean tables, inside and out. Ambiance is clean and well put together . Back to the food I got white rice this green salsa I can't remember and this white sauce. Then grilled chicken with corn, lettuce , pickles, cucumbers, avocado which cost extra and this wonton strips I believe with garlic dressing and a little of the Cesar dressing . Stopped in for lunch while visiting my sister in Torrance. Reasonably priced, healthy & fresh options for grab and go but there's inside and outside seating as well. There's a set menu for salad bowls or pitas but you can also build your own. I ordered the lemon chicken salad bowl and my sister got the Harissa avocado bowl. Lemon chicken is a limited item on the menu and was glad I choose the lemon chicken because it was perfect for my palate. My sister wasn't really a fan of the dressing on the Harissa bowl, but loved everything else in it. Definitely want to try the other bowls on the menu. Chicken marinade and the flavor of the hummus was on point. Not to mention that the pickled onion makes every bowl that much more delicious. read more
