I had never been to Cava before, but my coworker picked this place for lunch, and it was a nice choice. The service was pretty fast, and the staff were very attentive and helpful with my questions. Out of all the options in this plaza i was excited to see a cava opened since i love the one in Sherman Oaks. Usually I get a curated bowl and add toppings to it and asked the first employee if that would be alright since I didn't know if it was a location thing and she said it shouldn't be a problem. My gf and I both ordered steak and they said to give them a second because it was being cut and to wait to the side. No biggie. She asked if it was possible to get roasted veggies and steak and they said sure. Once the steak was done the other girl started building my bowl and I asked if I could add additional toppings and she stared at me then stared at the girl next to her. She said loudly "normally it's a set bowl but I'll let it slide this time." Without making any eye contact with me. And I would have happily paid extra if I was spoken directly to. The same employee was ringing up the order and asked if we wanted a drink or anything else and I asked for pita chips and she said they didn't have any because the closers came in at 3:30 to make those. So apparently if you go before that you can't get pita chips just FYI. She give us a total then asks if we got additional veggies with the steak and we say no it was a half and half so she walks away and we're standing there like wtf and she goes up to the first girl with a horrible look on her face as if she's scolding her in front of everyone and the poor girl just nods, then she comes back and doesn't even hand me the receipt and it falls on the counter and walks away without giving us our change. I'm not sure what Kahlini's problem is but it's not the public's problem. Based on all the horrible reviews you would think something would be done but clearly they're getting away with how they're treating their customers. I would have rather gone to Olive Garden, at least I'll be treated like family there. read more

I've always eaten at multiple CAVA locations but my recent experience at this location was extremely disappointing. The portion sizes were way smaller than any other Cava and I was shocked to hear that it was extra charge when I asked for a little more rice after being given the portion for a 5 year old. On top of that, the service was painfully slow. There were two employees, one being Mark (the one that wanted to charge me for half a scoop of rice after giving me half a scoop to begin with). It took us 20 minutes to get our food when the line was not long at all. I couldn't imagine how this location operates during a dinner rush. The slow service combined with the small portions made for a terrible visit at this location. I love CAVA but this location needs to focus more on better hiring and training so they don't act like every scoop of food is coming out of their own pocket. read more

Pros: Food was really good, something unique for the area Pita chips were amazing Interesting drink options Portions may seem small but I couldn't finish my whole bowl and my husband was very full when he finished his. Cons: The pricing is unnecessarily confusing. If chipotle can figure it out, so can this place. The ambiance outside is really interrupted by the lack loud clanging of the gates. For some reason there's no cushioning it's just metal slamming into screws over and over again. It would be such an easy fix that would dramatically improve the vibe. read more

So this is a new quick serve Greek chain that came into the empire center. They are completely not prepared for this spot. After waiting for 10 minutes to even start making my bowl, they have to let me know they were out of all but two of the proteins, and like Chipotle the proteins have their own cost and so to have any protein I was forced to pay more, or wait what I was told an additional 15 minutes. While eating I saw approximately 6 people walk out to not wait. Maybe this place will be fine but they need to get their stuff together. read more

I'm amending my earlier review. I gave this place a couple weeks to get their act together and just came in there today, expecting the worst. The service was actually much better and quicker and capable than last time I ate there. They had all the ingredients, they had drinks, they had all the amenities (napkins, forks, lids, straws, etc.) and the staff seemed to be all new people from when I was here last time (maybe they fired all the inept people from before?).
