" A great place for fusion salads and make your own plate " What a great place for salads. Or for the picky eater or the explorer that likes to make your own . Fresh , delicious and at a reasonable price . Staff is excellent, friendly. Vibe is welcoming. Parking is difficult but manageable.

Salad bowl, pita crisps, chicken, yogurt dill, cucumbers, tomato and cucumbers, tzatziki

Cozy establishment, similar to many diy bowl locations. What I like is that the menu allows you get order half portions so you can try two different bases and two different proteins. For my base, I chose arugula and romaine lettuce but instead of choosing two salads, I could have chosen a grain option if I wanted. The chicken was flavorful for sure! I was expecting plain boiled chicken but thankfully it's not plain grilled chicken either. The service was really quick because of the assembly line style. I wanted the person behind the counter change the dips/spreads when they were running low and noticed that they looked over the dip/spread before switching them out to make sure they were fresh. Nice place to grab a really fulfilling bowl with a cozy atmosphere! Didn't grab any drinks but there were an assortment of refreshing sounding drinks.

I was a little bit underwhelmed by my visit to CAVA at the Fenway location. I absolutely love CAVA, but this location completely skimped me on the portion size and didn't provide the quality ingredients that I am used to during my visit here. I walked in during dinner time, it was about half full but no line. Right off the bat, they were out of saffron rice, which wasn't a problem-- I waited about 7 minutes for them to whip up a new batch. However, the girl at the counter seemed a bit annoyed while taking my order. I have the utmost respect for the food service industry, and I know people can have bad days, but there was no line/rush and I was demonstrating patience and kindness while placing my order and it is absolutely an expectation in my eyes to receive that from the other end. In addition, a few things went wrong with my order. When I came to the dips selection-- I am entitled to 3 dips. This is the menu policy. I had ordered 2, but every other location has always asked me if I want an extra scoop of my selection to bump it to 3. The girl did not ask me. Then, I ordered avocado, which was not ripe enough and was ICE COLD. Bleh. To top it off, no free side of pita. Also menu policy. I expected more from this location. I've had great experiences with all food in Fenway. I hope I can one day say the same about my experience here.

I love cava! I tried it for the first time this week, and had it two more times this week because I loved it so much. As a vegetarian it has an amazing selection and the falafel is so good. The kids meal is the perfect portion size for me. I wish that there were more locations near me! I love that it is located on Boylston street and there is so much to do nearby. The service was very good as well, and it was a nice quiet, clean environment.

Sweet n spicy chicken rice bowl

Cava is always such a convenient fast fresh and tasty option! I always get the rice bowl with either the spicy chicken or regular grilled chicken along with most of the veggie toppings, tzatziki, eggplant and hummus and the green sauce. I usually also have leftovers so the one bowl gets me a lunch next day which is great! Service is usually quick and friendly and sometimes we sit in the restaurant and eat and sometimes just get take out. Overall great experience!

Custom bowl ($12)

I happened to be in the area with my sister who loves Cava, so at her suggestion, we decided to grab a quick dinner here on a weekday. The place was not too crowded with plenty of available seats inside and outside. I liked the plant-forward and relatively simple menu and appreciated that vegan options are clearly labeled. I customized a bowl ($12). In addition to many protein options, you can add 3 scoops worth of hummus (several varieties available) and customize the veggies. My favorite part of the bowl were the hummus and lentils. The portion size was larger than expected, and I ended up with some leftovers for a small meal the next day. The falafel was tasty but each one is only about 2 bites in size, so it might not be enough substance if it is your choice of protein. Most of the veggies were great and I would get almost all of them again--except the olives which were too salty for my taste. Overall, I enjoyed the healthy meal and would definitely consider visiting again!

This was my first time at CAVA and I became a believer. I love the salads and all the choices. I had it again in North Carolina. I hope they open them in Northern California soon!

Raw Steak

This was not a great experience. I went around 8pm and they were out of feta and the garlic sauce (which is reasonable it is late). I ordered a steak bowl and when I got home to eat it the steak was raw!! I am a disappointed the little bites of steak looked cooked well from the outside and I opened broke apart some pieces and they were still rare. I couldn't even eat the rest of the bowl I was so disgusted. It was also VERY overpriced I wasn't expecting this to cost about $25 for this bowl that was skimped on.

My friend and I wanted to eat something that we wouldn't feel guilty about afterwards. Since she lives close by, we didn't have to worry about parking especially in this area. It's build your own style so I opted for a bowl of brown rice, mixed greens, harissa paste, traditional hummus and tzatziki sauce. Toppings included the black lentils, pickled onions, goat cheese, and garlic sauce. The person behind the desk patiently filled my bowl to my preference. It was delicious and hit the mail on the head. I loved the burst of fresh and zesty flavors. It was satiating and healthy, what more could you ask for. Overall, I had a great experience. It was very low key requiring no special attire as it was easy to eat in or out. Cannot for wait another visit here!

Lamb meatball Pita wrap
T W.

I don't have anything good to say about this place....things are usually out of stock and the Lamb Meatball Wrap I ordered was cold like EXTREMELY COLD and runny. I will never order from this place again. You guys are great at making bowls. But wraps...No this should have been made/presented better

Build your own grain bowl + pita

I came back to try this place again and my experience was much better! The first time I tried their lamb meatballs, the meat was extremely sour and unpalatable. However, this time around the meatballs tasted really great. They were not dry at all and were perfectly seasoned. I was disappointed with the portion size my first time here, but the portions were bigger this time. I still wouldn't say that I could split a bowl into two meals though. Lastly, the skhug dressing was awesome. I think it is made from cilantro (haters beware) and it paired super well with everything in the bowl. I either got really unlucky my first time here, or the management does a great job at responding to feedback and criticism. Either way, I look forward to eating here again!

We got a lovely corner table by the window, and they offered us a high chair even though we ended up not needing it. Our server was knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations, walking us through portion sizes and the drink menu. We totally enjoyed every dish we ordered. My favorites were the Sultan's Delight and the moussaka -flavors were deep and maxed out, and every texture, from the meat to the veggies, was cooked to perfection. The only minor hiccup was the pacing(I expected the mezze to come first and mains after, but the order came out a bit mixed). We also ordered the "mac and cheese" plate for our toddler, and it was surprisingly healthy and delicious - my husband ended up eating it with pleasure too. The atmosphere was lively, even a little noisy at times, but we loved it. A wonderful evening overall, and we'd absolutely come back.

On our latest visit, we ordered the Za'atar Bread, Topik, Zucchini Pancake, and two desserts (Muhalabi and Almond Cremolata). The Good: Everything vegetable-forward was exceptional. The Topik's creamy potato hummus with pine nuts and currants is always a winner. The Za'atar Bread with muhammara and tahini labne is the perfect opener. The Zucchini Pancake with charred eggplant and corn & pepper ezme is underrated--complex and satisfying. Both desserts were delicious: the Muhalabi (dark chocolate, kaymak ice cream, rye cocoa shortbread) is sophisticated and rich, while the Almond Cremolata is lighter and coconutty. The Disappointing: We ordered the Sultan's Delight ($23) and got mostly fat with no actual meat. For the price point, it felt underwhelming.

A very popular, long-established Greek restaurant in Boston. Last time I walked in and was told…read morethere would be a two-hour wait, but this time I made a reservation and finally got to enjoy a delicious meal! Tiropita Rolls: Very straightforwardly delicious. The bread was warm, soft, and airy, with a rich aroma of butter and cheese; the spread was a rich blend of honey butter, and olives, sweet and delicious, perfect as an appetizer. Tzatziki: A slight disappointment. The cucumber and Greek yogurt spread was surprisingly heavy, a bit cloying, and the pickled kumquats weren't as sweet as I expected, but rather had a slightly bitter taste. The pita bread was thick and soft, probably better suited for dipping in soup--like Bourdeto--than for the spread. Bourdeto: The tomato fish soup was a pleasant surprise. The freshly caught grouper of the day was thick and tender, lightly seared to create a crispy crust. The broth was a vibrant, tangy tomato base, with onions, fennels, and red peppers contributing a sweet, layered flavor. Trahanas, fermented wheat and dairy, added richness and a smooth texture to the soup. The broth also had a slight spiciness, making it incredibly comforting on a chilly autumn day. Portokalopita: The dessert that elevated the entire meal. A traditional Greek orange phyllo, the cake, made from crumbs of phyllo pastry, becomes incredibly soft and moist after being soaked in orange syrup. Every bite was bursting with rich orange sweetness and fragrance, followed by a slightly bitter orange zest--perfectly balanced. Paired with Manouri cheese ice cream, the creamy flavor was incredibly rich and creamy, creating a harmonious and layered flavor profile.

Tucked in the corner of a cozy residential neighborhood, Desfina has that laid-back vibe. There's indoor seating if you want to escape the heat and outdoor seating. It was hot as hell- but we picked a table outside anyway. The service is exactly how I like it. Warm, friendly and attentive without someone checking on you every 10 seconds. Everyone was just full of smiles and it made our dinner that much special. Instead of going for big main plates, my daughter and I went for starters. The fried calamari is a must and tasty. The batter is light and crisp and actually stays on the calamari instead of sliding off. The grilled octopus is silky- the kind that melts the second you bite into it. None of that chewiness you get from places that don't know how to make a grilled octopus. This one in Desfina, is how it's supposed to be done! A Greek salad was a given. Seated immediately and surprised with a customized menu for the birthday girl. We ordered a pile of appetizers: tuna sashimi, truffle fries, mussels, escargot, and pate. The duck and mushroom risotto are incredible. Didn't try the sirloin or the tenderloin but there was nothing left for me to try! I am disappointed, from the very start to the end my experience was quite bad. The kitchen did not allow a bread substitution for the sandwich we ordered, they did not do waffles at this location either, and when we got our food the portion sizes were very small. The salmon was very overpriced for how much they offered; $27 for a piece of salmon only a few inches across was insulting, but apparently that is just how it is served there (picture below, you can see the pieces of broccoli are almost as big as the fish!) The other dish we got was the chicken sandwich, which is cut into two halves. The first half was normal but there was basically no chicken on the second half of the sandwich, it was essentially all bread. We brought it up to a manager and they got us a new piece of chicken, which fit entirely alongside the old piece of chicken on the bun because it was so small. On top of that we had to wait around nearly half an hour after finishing and had to flag down a waiter to get our check and go. The service overall was very slow. I will never come back to this restaurant.
