So, I placed an order on 9/23 at 11:36 through Uber Eats. I was quoted a 12:15 delivery time. At 12:25, I checked the status of my order & showed a new delivery time of 2:25. Now, I 100% that the estimated time is not a 100% guarantee for that exact time. I get it- I know there can be anywhere between a 10-30 minute difference. But not a 2 hour 40 minute discrepancy. Seeing how I had an appointment at 2:40, a 2:25 delivery time wasn't going to work. So I cancelled the order giving the reason for the new delivery time. Uber eats sent me a message that because cava had started preparing my order, the restaurant would not be refunding my payment. And of course under eats isn't interested in protecting their customers or making their partner restaurants responsible for doing the right thing. **I have 2 problems with this- 1) had I originally been given an estimated delivery time of 2:25- I would obviously not have ordered, 2) if cava knew it was a 2 hour 40 minute delivery time- were they just going to prepare my order & leave it sitting on the counter for almost 3 hours? No concern for food poisoning there? They do just set orders on their counter for take out. Not refrigerated. It is really bad business to treat people who are trying to support local restaurants like this. I used to love cava - I will no longer eat here or recommend them. You can't ask people to support you so you can keep your doors open, then treat them like this & not care that you are not only ripping your customers off but also putting their health & safety at risk. read more

I first tried CAVA when they just opened and they were giving out free bowls to their customers. After that first visit, it was love at first sight. I've been back many times since my first visit. I love the BYOB (build your own bowl) concept. Instead of Mexican food like Chipotle they serve healthy/Mediterranean food. Every item on their menu is amazing so make sure you check this place out! read more

If you order online ahead during a weekday lunch time, don't plan on your order being ready as their ordering system says. Currently waiting on my order that's over 30 minutes past the given pickup time. There are about 10-15 people standing around me also waiting for their late orders. read more

I eat here at least once a week. Food is good, ordering is easy, great. I have had the worst service from the same employee almost every time I have been. I have no idea how she is still employed at what I am sure is a top performing location. I have complained, and the manager often doesn't even ask which employee I am referring to, just gives me a pita card. Well now you know, she is the woman with absurd eyelashes and a terrible attitude. She works the lunch shift and needs to catch a bus at 4 pm. Things I have experienced from her: 1. Squirted the sauce on the lid instead of the bowl and still tried to give it to me. 2. Gave me ingredients in little cup for me to apply to my own bowl, after berating me for wanting pita crisps. 3. Refused pita after asking 3 times. 4. Squirted sauce all over my togo cup, she is crazy with the sauce. 5. Was ignored for 5 minutes during a slow time so she could drink lemonade. 6. Was told she didn't have time for my order, she had to get the bus. 7. Bowls of wildly varying sizes. 8. Generally awful attitude, never returns a smile or greeting. Fire her and I will return! read more

Incredible place. Affordable, simple and flavourful + nutritional ingredients. Had black lentils with spicy chicken and an assortment of spices, veggies and sauces. Major pro is variety, cost and quantity. Mediterranean done right read more

The line could stand to be a lot more efficient. The location is prime, and the quality of food is overall exactly what I'm going for. That being said, for a location in the middle of down town, the line out the door is inexcusable. I was 8th in line and it took me nearly 25 minutes to get my bowl. The line workers show no sense of urgency to get the line moving at any meaningful pace. I get it, retail work sucks. I'm just saying, this is becoming a trend every time that I come in from work, that I'll be standing, waiting for way longer than I'm eating. No shade being thrown, I really enjoy the food. This just needs to get addressed- especially considering where it's located. read more

This has to be one of the more disappointing food options in my area of downtown. I told the staff that I was new and they did very little to help along the way. They have very few topping options even though there door says they have options. You might as well go to Leaf (nearby) if you still want to overspend, but you'll get more for your buck. read more

Bowl or pita? It doesn't matter! You can't go wrong. I had the spinach bowl with lentils and chicken along with some fiery Feta cheese. It was topped off with some lemon dill dressing. Lots of flavor here. It's a quick casual place but the food seems higher quality than other type restaurants. The line was long but it moves quickly. What's also great is there are local sodas and a few different teas to choose from. All around a great, quick place to eat for lunch. read more

I want to start by saying the food is delicious. I've been here several times and will continue to come back, HOWEVER; today at 3:25, with 7 employees and 0 customers, they were out of "right rice" (one the reasons I come here), the kid making our bowls didn't offer me pita (and seemed annoyed when both I and someone picking up their to-go order asked for it) and there were 2 children running around screaming who seemed to belong to one of the employees. chaos. Both the kid making my bowls, and I, kept getting distracted by the screaming children. read more

Don't order pick up from here unless you like waiting 45 minutes past your pick up time and ultimately giving up and going back to work on an empty stomach for the rest of the day. 20 other people were there having to deal with the same thing, how can a chain restaurant be this poorly managed. Couldn't even get an employee to talk to me. read more

Chipotle meets Mediterranean. That's the best way I can sum this up. However, CAVA has a MUCH larger selection combination that you can eat here everyday for a month and have something unique. Luckily we came for dinner, but I can imagine based on its location that lunch may be a nightmare during the week. I'll caution you there if this is your Monday lunch candidate. Order online and skip what I feel would be a very long line. The falafel is phenomenal--filling and hits the spot. These guys have so many sauces that your tastebuds will dance hours after you've finished eating. I did the grain bowl with lentils,Harissa, falafel, and just about all of the toppings. The food is fresh and it won't make you feel guilty afterwards. Cheers! read more

OMG FINALLY! Something good to eat for downtown workers! Strolled in to check out the menu and got a grain bowl with chicken. I love the variety of dips and toppings they have - all so yummy and work really well together. Super fresh tasting and filling - worth the price (~$10). Ate half for lunch and saved the rest for dinner. Staff was also super friendly. I will definitely be coming back! read more

This place has been perpetually busy since opening, and I finally came on a day with a reasonable line. Heard rave reviews about the lamb, so I got a grain/greens bowl with the braised lamb, harissa, tzatziki, and red pepper eggplant dips, lots of veggies, and the green harissa sauce and sriracha yogurt sauces. The bowl overall is a decent amount of food. A bit less than Chipotle, but seems like slightly higher quality ingredients. The lamb was good, but not really discernable as lamb and tasted more like pulled beef, the portion was quite small, especially considering the upcharge for it. The chicken looked awesome and more flavorful and satisfying having been grilled and I think I'd give that a try next time. The sauces were put on pretty sparsely, and could definitely have used a bit more of those at the end. The grain/greens base is a bit on the blander side, but filling. The harissa was quite spicy and flavorful which I really liked, and the dips were good, but also portioned quite small. Pita was average, and not really as good as I hoped. A bit dry around the edges. Overall, it does feel like a healthier, slightly more expensive and fairly flavorful mediterrannean style chipotle. Wasn't quite as wowed by the actual result as I thought I'd be, but I'd definitely go back and tweak my order a bit to see if that makes a difference. Service is friendly, but lines are slow and there are too many people asking you the same questions over and over and not communicating and slowing you down. Seems kind of inefficient to have 3 people ask if its for here or to go... read more

I loved this place! I came here for lunch and while busy, the line moved fast. It's definitely a Chipotle version of Middle Eastern food, but with incredibly fresh ingredients. I had a salad and upgraded for the lamb meatballs which were so delicious, but all the toppings I had to choose from are what really made my meal. Plus the staff was very friendly. I wish I had one of these closer to me read more

SO GOOD! I was so excited to finally try it. The bowl was incredible. I got the falafel one and it was so good. Not too dry. The sauces were so tasty and brought the whole bowl together. I loved it and would go back. read more

The food was delicious. Tasty pits and all the spreads were to die for. I thought the meat was just ok.

This was my first time here and I was impressed. The choices are plentiful, but not overwhelming. Everything was fresh, tasted great and proportions were nice. The drink selection was a nice mix of craft sodas, iced tea and juices. I had a pita with braised lamb, hummus, tomatoes and various other veggies. read more

Love this place. Really creative interesting and filling salads. I wish there was one in my hometown!

Best food in Austin!! It's similar to Sweet Green & a much healthier, tastier, & Mediterranean version of Chipotle. Large portions & could even eat as 2 meals if you don't have a large appetite. read more

Went to Cava for lunch. This was the fastest I have ever went through the line. The food was amazing thanks to the chef, T. I wanted a light easy lunch before my flight out of Austin and I was walking around downtown. This place looked good and had a long line, so I figured it was pretty good. Kind of industrial inside but, whatever it is a nice open clean place with lots of light and a good number of tables. The line moved quickly, which was nice. All of the folks working there were very nice and upbeat. Easy going and helpful. I had just salad as a base, not wanting any grains, then some harissa, which the guy working there mentioned twice that harissa is spicy. Not sure why he felt I needed the extra prompting, I love spicy food, not that he knew that, just thought it odd. Anyway I had the chicken and a lot of the veggies on it then a bit of dressing. Man a lot of food in that bowl. It was very tasty, definitely enjoyed this place and enjoyed the light food. The phone order process was pretty slick, you ordered via an app and paid in advance, once the food was prepped it was put on one of the many shelves near the register. Pickup was via the app, you scanned the receipt. pretty cool read more

Poor service. Was getting pickup. My meal was ready. Asked the guy to pass it me when he asked me what I needed. He proceeded to check out a customer that was taking a while, change out the pitas and do some other stuff before handing me my order. Only 3-4 minute extra wait but parking on Congress is tough and the service was disappointing. I'm not one to usually complain. Also didn't get the spare pita for our salad. read more
