During lunch time on a weekday when I visited, parking spaces were hard to come by because there are many popular places to eat here. The order counter is just a few steps in front the entrance. Large menus are display are above the counter. Lots of natural light streamed through the large windows in the front of the store, and the side and ceiling of the large indoor dining area feature glass windows, making it feel like you're dining outdoors without experiencing the elements or insects. However, there is an outdoor patio if you actually do want to experience the elements and insects. The dining room was very clean. I got to Original ChopShop at around ten minutes past noon. Surprisingly, there were only about 15 people, although the restaurant can seat a whole lot more customers than that. In spite of not having that many customers, it still took 20 minutes for my order to be delivered to my table. I had ordered a grilled steak sandwich on multi-grain bread. The sandwich included grilled sirloin, caramelized onion, fontina, arugula, apple, mushroom, horseradish creme, and soy sesame sauce. The presentation was nice, but I thought the flavors were just awful, with the main flavor being "burnt." The grilled sirloin was tender, but its flavor was ruined by the caramelized onions and/or the mushroom. I was also expecting the bits of steak to be hot, but it wasn't. Something tasted really off. I had only taken one bite and that was enough. I did eat the pickle, which tasted great! I really had to leave to get to work, anyway. This was not a good experience.

I watched the team working hard to keep up with a flood of to-go orders and customers, and through all of it, Jaime was absolutely exceptional. He was upbeat, genuinely friendly, professional, incredibly efficient, and completely unbothered by the chaos around him. His energy was contagious. What impressed me most was that, even while moving quickly and taking care of everyone, he still took a moment to make my interaction feel personal. That kind of customer service is rare. You can tell when someone is simply doing their job versus when someone genuinely cares about the experience they're creating for people. Jaime genuinely cares. At one point, Jaime mentioned that he was new to the company. I was honestly shocked because I assumed he was a manager. The way he carried himself, communicated with customers, and handled the pressure was that impressive. Salata, someone in corporate needs to know about this guy. Jaime is a true representation of the kind of employee every company hopes to have. He deserves to be recognized, celebrated, and, in my opinion, seriously considered for a raise or promotion.

The bowls/plates we had this past Monday at sweetgreen were better than what we've had over the past year from both Upbeet and gusto! I didn't expect that from sweetgreen, which is a nationwide chain with over 240 locations. In comparison, Upbeet has only two locations (Atlanta and Nashville) and gusto! is a local chain with 12 Atlanta-area locations. At this location, sweetgreen validates parking in the attached garage (behind the restaurant) for one hour. Enter the garage via Brady Ave NW. There are two entry points. From the garage, there's a breezeway with direct access to sweetgreen and Howell Mill Rd. Take your parking ticket with you so the staff can put a validation sticker on it. My wife and I dined in and had the following for dinner: * Miso Glazed Salmon ($15.95) - miso-glazed salmon, avocado, cucumbers, pickled onions, crispy onions, white rice, nori sesame seasoning and spicy cashew * Hot Honey Chicken ($14.95) - blackened chicken, warm roasted sweet potatoes, veg slaw, crispy onions, herbed quinoa, and hot honey mustard sauce plus kale * Ripple Fries + Pickle Ketchup ($4.55) - freshly cut potatoes, air-fried in avocado oil and seasoned with sea salt and herbs Jendaya prepared our order and rang us up. This location has both indoor and outdoor seating in a cool part of town (Westside). The interior still looks new with a modern, industrial design. If you plan to visit with any regularity, sign up for sweetgreen rewards. Use the sweetgreen app and scan your QR code at checkout to get points. You get 10 points for each eligible $1 spent. At the time of writing this review, you can get Rosemary Focaccia as early as 350 points and an entree up to $18 in value at 2,500 points. Points expire 180 days (about six months) after issuance. I didn't sign up for rewards until after our visit. Using the app, I sent a picture of my receipt to sweetgreen to get points. Christell from the sweetgreen "customer experience" team responded in less than 24 hours. She added the correct amount of points to my account. Excellent online customer support.
