A solid grain bowl/salad spot! Prices are a bit expensive for what you get, in my opinion, but I really enjoyed my bowl of choice! Stopped by for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised! There's free parking available outside the building, which is a plus. Line was a bit long, but we went during peak lunch hours and still only waited about 15-20 minutes. We got the Sweater Weather and Curry Up bowls and both were DELICIOUS. While the bowls are pricey, they are good and consistent. Rarely do I have issues with incorrect orders or the location being out of inventory. My issue is the wait time for in-person orders. They prioritize online orders and will completely ignore customers standing in line on site. Last time I dined here, there were several employees (sweeping floors, making online orders, etc.) but only one employees that was assigned to making orders for a line full of customers standing in line. I waited at MINIMUM 10 minutes before someone even acknowledged me and I was 3rd in line. Not necessarily ideal when I'm about to spend $20 on lunch. read more

Oh how the mighty have fallen! First let me say, I was a DIE HARD advocate for UPBEET for 2 years! I came religiously and was all about it and didn't mind spending the extra money for quality. I used to get Ritz Carlton service and top tier ingredients! Then I moved, and today was my first visit back in an about 9 months. Man was that a mistake. The ingredients are not the same quality as before, they don't dress the salads with the dressing anymore, the food isn't mixed up and the people on the line making the food definitely don't like their job! The chickpeas were raw little pebbles I almost cracked a tooth on, the oven-roasted mushrooms are definitely sliced canned and the shrimp was freezer burned. Ms. Lashandra did not keep up with the ingredients on her line. They were out of multiple hot ingredients and when she asked the line cook for more, turned around and said "they said it will be 7 minutes before any of that is ready". That happened for 5 ingredients, after half of the bowl was already made and I had people behind me... so I'm not trying to be an A-hole, I kept it moving. When I got there, it was a ghost town, maybe 5 people in the whole place. They weren't slammed, so I'm not sure why didn't communicate sooner with the line cook sooner than I asked for more ingredients. She did not disclose Extra Costs or what's included in my salad UNTIL at the register. A lot of new charges, which I don't mind, but come on- a least have the courtesy to tell me ahead. I've always had people mention "that will be an additional charge" before adding an item and then I agreed. So I thought I was buying a standard option. Then the young lady tried to overcharge me ringing up more ingredients than I got and had to edit it. Now, I understand people make mistakes, but the whole experience gave the impression that she simply didn't care. That genuinely bothered me. Then to finally sit down to eat and the "Roasted Red Pepper dressing" she gave me tasted like Franks Red Hot sauce...the smell alone turned my stomach. So not only did I have to try to mix my bowl myself and try not to spill it on the tabletop, it was dry because I did not have a dressing to eat- just hot sauce they charged me for separately. The craziest part for me though is that my salad was $18.20 before taxes... I've never gotten a janky dry nearly $20 salad before from anywhere and was especially disappointed that's what I got at Upbeet. The tables were sticky, there was trash on the floors kicked under the tables in multiple spaces and half of the kitchen lights were turned off- like they were getting ready to close at 1:40pm on a Tuesday afternoon. The house made lemonade drink machines were clean though and fully stocked though. That's why I gave it 2 stars. The drink was a good drink. read more

Plus, the utensils and dishes are compostable and everything appears to be sustainability-minded. Consider it a Quick-Serve Restaurant, a la Chipotle, but the ingredients are better and aren't overly salted. Upbeet is a plant forward restaurant so it caters to the vegan and vegetarian consumers, but the meats they have are pasture raised, humanely treated, and the seafood (tuna, shrimp) are wild caught. Build your own salad/grain bowl or pick from the menu, you won't be disappointed! I had the Curry up which was delicious with a Strawberry basil smoothie. They will make any moderations if need be, but all the flavors married well. I did add some Sriracha for a little "BADA BING" and it was a hit. It does get busy, so there's generally a line to order but they do encourage social distancing and staff appropriately so once you are ordering it goes pretty quickly. The GM tanja is not worthy to hold the position .I have given this location multiple chances because I love the food but never again. I have referred dozens of people to eat here but never again. I feel so cheated and insulted. I visited on 2/19 and ordered an aloha bowl which comes with avocado. I live 40 mins away, get home start eating and realize something's missing. I go online and check the ingredients since I haven't had it in a while and it was the avocado missing. I emailed and tanja responded saying she remembered me and she can refund the bowl to call her the next morning. Just got off the phone with her and she accused me of trying to get over saying I have several reports of food being inaccurate but never bought back the food which is a lie. I offered to send pics and bring it back then she said that's okay. Make that make sense. That's how you talk to a repeat customer? Each time I've had an issue I have bought the food back. the last two times the rice was extremely overcooked. It's not my fault I speak up when I have an issue and refuse to waste $18 of my hard earned money on something I am not going to eat when others might let it go. Do like 5 star restaurants and taste check before serving. I have never felt so disrespected from a restaurant and I come from a restaurant background of over 10 years and I would never talk to a customer in that way. take accountability and fix the problem because it's not me. You should be grateful to have customers like me to make sure your restaurant is on point. you can't do better, If you don't know what the issues are. how can you improve if you are not aware? There's a station to get lemonades and iced teas. I like the Charcoal Lemonade. It's $4.50 for these with free refills. The drinks are good but the food is the star. It basically is this make your own bowls. They have all the ingredients so you can see what you want. I had the Very Vegan. It's about $9 for a bowl filled with grains and vegetables. They make these in front of you. Filling and healthy. There's so much you can add and you might as well since there's no charge by weight. Fill up bowls. They also have these as salads.
