We really love cattle shed but this experience wasn't the best. My husband and I were treating my parents to dinner for their 51st wedding anniversary. After our waitress seated us she asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and we said yes. She said Happy Anniversary but I find it odd to ask in the first place if you didn't plan on following up with a special dessert or something on the house?! My husband's and I steaks were not up to par either. Mine in particular was very chewy and tough. My husband also had points for a reward that were unable to be used. Our waitress was unable to redeem them. She also disappeared for an extended period of time which prevented us for ordering more drinking during happy hour. We're just really disappointed because we were talking this restaurant up to my parents and left feeling like we were all let down. read more

Wow. It's been a while since I've been excited about a new restaraunt experience. My buddy and I were in Halcyon and this place was hopping, and the menu had some excitement to both of us so we strolled in, got a drink, waited for about 20 min to be seated at the bar. The service was phenomenal. The bartenders and waitstaff seemed like they had been working together well for a long time. The options at the bar were deep and the drinks were good. We tried the Octopus, the bone marrow, and ribeye. All were fantastic. Highly recommend. read more

We had dinner last night and the experience was good but not great. It took 20 minutes for our waitress to stop by and explained she had another busy table so we might have to wait longer than expected and we did. In the two hours we were there we saw her twice. The Waldorf salad was awesome and my steak was ok for the price. The Fries were the big hit at the table. For kids menu, they only had 1 choice which was a beef burger. It was fine for us but there were no options for people who don't eat beef. We dined with our family and what a complete disappointment. This restaurant is pretending to be a nice restaurant with prices that do not align to the quality of service and food. Sadly the large amount of staff did a lot of standing around the bar chatting and an employee decided to change into his more casual attire from a different top and sports jacket near the front entrance and our table before heading to sit on a bar stool. The lack of respect for the patrons was also reflected in the food. One member of our party had a 10 minute delay in his food delivery from the rest of the table and the wagyu pasta bolognese lacked any flavor and should have been called soup. The restaurant was not very crowded this Friday evening so not the reason for missteps. Not one of our 6 meals was worth a repeat. Phenomenal in every way. From the moment my husband and I walked through the door we were treated as treasured guests. Every aspect of this restaurant has been perfectly curated. Each table feels private and with an interesting view. The entire restaurant is ambient and just lends itself to a special dining experience. We were there to celebrate our five year wedding anniversary and it was a treat to come without our nearly 2-year-old. Sandra, our server, was a highlight. Her expertise and knowledge of the specials, menu and drinks was flawless. Her personable and professional demeanor made us feel right at ease. She helped us to choose some truly incredible menu options and I have no doubt that she is one of the reasons Cattle Shed is as highly rated as it is. What an asset! I have no doubt she will be rising to a managerial position the next time we dine at Cattle Shed, but we will certainly ask for her anyway! This is one of those gems that you would expect to find in a large city, and it makes it even more special that it's close to home and in a private and safe location. The chef is phenomenal and I cannot say enough about the bar manager. The creativity in the handcrafted cocktails alone is worth venturing out to taste! The hostess (I wish I had gotten her name!) was so kind and welcoming and even offered to take my husband and my picture. I appreciate that she passed along my compliments of my cocktail to the bar manager. The entire restaurant just felt like a family and we enjoyed so much being a part of the inner circle for a few hours. Come to celebrate a special occasion or come for a Tuesday. Food Network's Chopped winner Olivia Hurst has created a masterful menu, combined with a hip ambiance and chill atmosphere, with rhythmic music and a killer location in Halcyon. Not to mention a great selection of wines and people who know how to do pairings. House manager Chris is a true gentleman and host with a wealth of knowledge as well. It's extremely rare for me to walk away from a steakhouse and say out loud that "they make a fillet as good or better than I can"! And that's saying something! My husband and I went here on a whim the other night and I'm glad we did! The atmosphere in the restaurant was perfect for a date night. Our server (I wish I could remember his name) was fantastic, he was incredibly friendly and was helpful with giving recommendations from the menu. We got the porterhouse for two and it was cooked perfectly, and a side of au gratin potatoes which were delicious. I really enjoyed the hint of horseradish they use in the dish. PICK ANOTHER STEAKHOUSE - This is a review from Mother's Day of this year, May 15th. I waited to post this hoping to hear back from the Chef or Manager after I sent them an email. No response.... For several months we have been eagerly looking forward to trying this restaurant. With the Chef being a "Chopped" Champion, we HAD to go!! Unfortunately, our experience was far below par. I will first tell you that our server was fantastic! The disappointing part was our meal. My wife and son both ordered filets that were seriously undercooked. My wife requested well done and my son ordered medium. Both came out raw. After sending them back to cook further, my son's steak came back out and was still far from medium (still raw inside and we showed the manager). We didn't want to send it back again as this was eroding our dinner experience. I ordered the Wagyu steak sandwich in which the steak was also rare/raw and chewy. On top of this, the au gratin potatoes were very massively undercooked as the potatoes were so hard they needed to be cut with a knife. I will say that my daughter's wagyu burger was amazing! I consider myself a foodie, especially with steaks and this place is now on the "no fly list" for me. There are too many other great places in the area to have a great steak experience. The quality of the food has gone down, the famous Burger didn't taste as amazing as usual - the bun was definitely different and the fries aren't crispy quality! We sat at the bar, had a couple cocktails and bottle of wine. We ordered the pasta, pork chop and the special mash potatoes. They mistakenly brought fries instead of the mash so we asked them to sub it out. When the bill came both mash and fries were on it so we asked for it to be corrected. The waitress said we'd have to wait for the manager, so 10 min later when Stacy came off her break she informed us that she couldn't remove the fries from our bill because I had eaten one when it was delivered. Seriously? They get the order wrong, we spend $180+ on dinner and she says we have to pay for the fries we didn't order because I ate one? It's a principle thing, but I will never go back. And Stacy screwed her waitress off a nice tip. read more

Came here for Mothers Day. I was excited to try something new! The waiter was nice. They were out of a few things which I didn't understand because it wasn't busy (?) but we moved on and found something else. The charcuterie was pretty good! The filet was charred a bit too much for my taste, I ordered medium rare and I didn't get to that until the middle, the edges were burnt crisp. My husbands ribeye was so thin. I felt like it was truly a ripoff. The lobster Mac had so many breadcrumbs they flavors were fighting against one another and it was unenjoyable. The potatoes were ok, no seasoning though. I was new to this place but had heard plenty of good things. A few friends decided to meet up and have guy time. I get there a little early and sat at the bar. The smoked Old Fashioned was expertly prepared. Right as I was finishing the drink, the rest of the party arrived. We started out with the grilled octopus. The octopus was delicious and served on top of some potato salad. Odd combination but strangely it worked! We also ordered the pork belly- DELICIOUS, and one of the gentlemen ordered a crab cake. WE ALL ordered the rib-eye and had the truffle fries, creamed spinach, potatoes au gratin, and lobster Mac. Everything was very good and the service was impeccable! read more

The only reason I am giving the second star if for the service. Our waitress was good. We order French onion soup and not that it was bad but for a "high end" restaurant expected more. We also ordered a wedge salad and well it was okay. We ordered a porter house for two. The steak was not cooked correctly at all. To the point my fiancé could barely eat it. When the steak arrived it has butter on it that was cold and through out the time the steak was on the table never melted..... I don't know if it was timing or being rushed or what the issue was. The asparagus is not a "shared plate". The French fries for as much as they are hyped up well are over glorified because you have to have a sauce for them to stand out. For all the hype they put out for their self to be one of the best steak houses around.... Well it was a let down. Maybe the other foods in the place are better but the steak you might as well go to little Allie or firebirds or hell Longhorns's. read more

Let me start by saying we came here within the first two weeks of it being open so maybe there were some kinks to work out. Came in for my wife's birthday and was greater by a friendly waiter. Walked us through the menu and everything sounded delicious. We had our two kids with us, both under 10. They said they had no kids options but could bring bread (which they charge for). That's fine, we already figured that going in. We ordered a bottle of wine, which the waiter selected for us. 10 minutes later he comes over and says they don't have that bottle any more. He suggests another bottle and then our appetizers were arriving. We were nearly done with all of the 1st course before our wine arrived. We ordered a waiter selection charcuterie and that was fine. Grilled octopus as well which was good. For the main course, I ordered their ribeye, prepared medium. It arrived purple in color and under cooked. I called the waiter over and he agreed something went wrong. I asked to just grill it a bit more and we'd be happy. 10 minutes later the steak comes back out. My steak had next to no flavor, bland and was extremely tough. I had to saw at it with my knife. I wasn't going to say anything but the waiter came by and asked how it was (demanding am honest opinion). I said it wasn't my favorite steak and described all the reasons why. He insisted that I must not know fish, quality, meats like this and that's why it wasn't satisfactory for me....not cool. The manager came over and offered us a champagne toast and dessert on the house to make up for our unsatisfactory meal. Dessert was nice and delicious. Overall, not a great first impression BUT again it may be because they had recently opened. I might try them again in a few months and see if things improve. read more

We've been to Cattle Shed probably 3 times now since they opened earlier this year. Actually found their restaurant after frequenting the sister restaurant - Foundation Social Eatery in Roswell. Which is currently being relocated to Alpharetta. The food here is similar caliber. The Charcuterie, the homemade Foie Terrine are musts. As is the beef tartare. Husband usually goes for the filet mignon with seasonal vegetables, love that they offer a choice of preparation for the latter. Steak is not always my go to, but no problem here, plenty of seafood offerings or I would opt for the super tender octopus as my main. Everything is superb. Servers are knowledgeable and friendly, drinks are solid. A hidden gem in the neighborhood. Sadly, we will be headed back home to NYC in the fall after a prolonged period of WFH in the Atlanta area, but look forward to coming back again around the Holidays to try their next seasonal menu. read more

We've been wanting to try Cattle Shed since they opened. Finally made reservations for Easter brunch. I loved the place before we got there; great menu, nice decor, great outside dining. Unfortunately, it went downhill quickly. We arrived about 10 mins early. Had to clear a table for outside. No problem. We ordered drinks at the bar and while we waited our table became available and they told us to sit down and they'd bring them. 15 minutes later, drinks still sitting at the end of the bar, I went to the restroom. Got back to the table and they were still at the bar just sitting there looking watery and lonely. I asked the hostess if someone could wait on us. She brought the drinks right out and apologized. There were 4 servers and 5 tables outside, 2 tables inside. No one at the bar. Finally a waitress comes. Apologizes for the delay. We ask for straws for our drinks, silverware, napkins and water. Returns with those items sometime later. We ordered a charcuterie plate. It came after a bit but we sat there with empty drinks before it arrived. Ordered another round. These were good, much less watery. The cheeses and meat tray was pretty good. We enjoyed it. Finally after another 15-20 mins and charcuterie gone the 2nd drink arrived. Around this time one table got up and walked out because they couldn't get waited on. 3 other tables cashed out and left. The restaurant was not busy at all. Finally our main courses are delivered. Hubs had brunch platter. He said it was ok but had better at other breakfast joints for less money. My crab cake Benedict was such a huge disappointment. The eggs were not poached and they had SO much salt on them I couldn't eat them. And I love salty food!! Took forever for the bill. Just overly disappointed with all of it. Maybe it's good for steaks but way too many other excellent brunch places in the area to ever consider CS again. Oh and while eating they cancelled my reservation with Open Table so I lost my points. I didn't even say anything because we just wanted to go. Tip to the managers- teach your servers to work together and assist each other's tables. Had 3 other servers walk by several times and if they made eye contact with you they would look away. They clearly did not want to help each other. The hostess was very good though! read more

I had very high expectations and thought I was going to experience something unique but the flavors are combined like anywhere else. I normally give restaurants a couple of chances but the reason why I doubt I will be going back is mainly the joke of $17 for a Moscow Mule, $14 for 2 drops of bourbon and $13 for a small dessert, a semifreddo. I am not sitting in front of the Tour Eiffel, I am in the middle of nowhere in a shopping strip. To me everything has to make sense. read more

I'm not sure how these reviews have happened because our experience was great! We were told on a Friday night there would be a 15-20 min wait so we grabbed a drink at the bar while we waited. While at the bar we were lucky enough to meet a regular patron and introduced to Cattle Sheds Chef Oliva Hurst (yes, I googled after meeting). After we had a drink at the bar our table was ready and we were greeted by our waiter Rich. Rich was super knowledgeable and super helpful in navigating the menu. I will absolutely ask to be seated in his section in the future! Everything we had was fantastic! We started with 2 appetizers: the pork belly and the churrasco satay. Both were great. We split the wagyu filet for our entree and it was grilled to a perfect medium. So glad we tried this restaurant and we will definitely be back again! read more

As a pescatarian, there can be limited, typical choices at steak houses...but not here-- amazing pasta special with scallops that melted in my mouth. The Waghu burger was a hit with my son and a visit from Chef Liv made made it the best experience! How she manages to put out such a splendid menu and provide personal table service is a mystery.
