Probably one of the biggest whiplash-type experiences we've ever had in fine dining. From what we thought it would be, to what it actually was, the whole experience felt like it was set up to be a scam. We were sat inside, in the way back corner, farthest from the door and, in a 90-minute span, we killed at least 10 fruit flies/gnats between us. It's a nice place too that looks very clean, but they had the front door open the entire time. At first, I was trying to be subtle about it, but about halfway through, I was clapping my hands in the air and wiping bug guts on the white tablecloth. They may have been coming from the window next to me, but it was a little off-putting to say the least. The server did pick up on this, but didn't offer a different table or to at least close the front door. We didn't make a big deal about it, but by the time the wine bottle was open, we were shooing critters off our glasses regularly. Our server, who was clearly not French, kept calling us monsieur and madame and the accent was so forced, it became real cringe real fast. Please stop making the servers pretend they're French. And to be fair, our server was great, none of this was on them, but the fake French posturing HAS to be derided by the staff, so this complaint is for THEM. Unless they are a.) FROM France or b.) fluent IN French, native English is fine and preferred. This is not a place for improv and you wouldn't make an Olive Garden server speak like Mario and Luigi. Maybe our server was into it, but it became extremely painful as the dinner continued to go downhill. For entrees, I ordered the rib-eye (which includes comp refills) and SO ordered the filet. When the filet came out, it smelled loudly like a barnyard. After a few bites from each corner, it was sent back. The smell could only be compared to cow poop, and I honestly can't believe the kitchen sent it out. $64 filet and I wouldn't have given it to a stray dog. No aging on the filet also--just a bad piece of meat they tried to pawn off on a guest. My rib-eye was small (understanding with the whole "free refills" thing) and not steaming hot, but the filet's odor was a bigger problem when the plates hit the table, so I just went with it. SO couldn't/wouldn't order anything else and I don't blame them. The meat was clearly bad, and it resulted in some minor gastro issues the following day, even after just a few bites. The manager did come to the table to apologize and offered a replacement, but SO was uninterested. Going back to my entree, the "frites" that came with my ribeye were a frozen product: those battered/orange fries you get from the drive-thru at Checkers. Gross and disappointing and this is where I felt like I was being scammed. I think they claim somewhere "twice fried in beef tallow" but I know a fast-food-style fry when I taste it/see it. Also, the plate presentation was just the ribeye and fries. No garlic aioli, no ketchup, no parsley, no lemon, no garnish. Chef clearly doesn't know the 3-color rule and considering the size of the cut, it looked like something you'd get at a diner with fried eggs (and the entree has a $59 price tag also). The refill was hotter and closer to medium, and I enjoyed it more than the first one, but I wasn't risking a third helping and didn't want to have to wait anyway with my SO sitting there with nothing in front of them. Ultimately, we grinned through all of it and stayed for dessert. How hard can that be? Well, the creme brûlée was either over-whipped or too eggy. More like a flan. Not awful, but it's didn't help the dinner at that point and it was the only item the SO was interested in after the filet debacle and it was just ok. You'd think the brûlée at a French bistro would knock your socks off, right? It was meh. I followed up with a call to the restaurant and left a message to speak with the manager who touched our table regarding the filet. Not looking for a refund and you couldn't pay me to revisit, but he should know that there were multiple failings that night, not just their attempt to sell spoiled meat. read more

What a lovely evening we had for our 36th anniversary! Greeted warmly when we arrived by staff. The dinner with our server, AJ (Bow to him) began with a welcome and overview of what to expect. To start... cocktails and martinis with Blue point oysters!!! The crackers! And add the bread with that fabulous butter! Next up, the Duck Confit... a little cassoulet... amazing. Entrees- Dover sole, out of this world and beef Bourgogne like we were in France! The wine was lovely as was the entire experience. Holy cow! Overall solid meal and incredible service! We came on a Tuesday evening around 7 and it was perfect! There were some other tables there but it wasn't crowded at all. Everything we ate was incredible! The $18 for 12 oysters deal is amazing! Super big meaty oysters. The two salads were super delicious and very filling. Honestly do the unlimited steak frites for $50. I don't know who is ordering more than 3 plates but everything was fantastic. It's located in Milton/Crabapple in a super cute area. There's a parking deck right next to the restaurant for easy parking. I would come back again and tell my friends to check it out. read more

went here with my bf yesterday (12/09) for my birthday and had an amazing time with great food and drinks! the food was easily a 10/10, the drinks were good and strong, our server was very friendly and recommended everything we ordered actually. the vibe is romantic and dark, with great places for pics in front and next to the christmas tree. it was calm, quiet, fancy, and definitely a cute date night spot. every table except the 2 next to us were couples. would love to go back! also, if you like sweet treats PLEASE get the fried donuts that come with a honey glaze, powdered sugar and vanilla bean whipped cream that you could literally tell was straight from scratch. definitely check them out! read more

Went here recently for their $49 all-you-can-eat steak and frites with my girlfriend. The experience was just okay -- definitely had its highs and lows. The fries were the star of the meal: perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and had that satisfying battered crunch that made them addicting. Honestly some of the best fries I've had in a while. The steaks, though, were inconsistent. Some cuts were tender and flavorful, but others were clearly frozen and came out chewy or bland. It's a gamble with each plate, which takes away from the whole "unlimited steak" appeal. Also, I was surprised to be charged extra for steak butter -- something I would've expected to be included at this price point. Service was friendly and attentive, which I appreciated, but at the end of the day, we spent close to $150 for two people -- with just one sweet tea and two tiny 100ml Cokes, and no dessert. For that price, I expected more consistency in the steak quality and fewer surprise upcharges. Overall, not a terrible experience, but not something I'd rush back for. If you're a fry lover, you'll be happy. If you're coming for the steak, temper your expectations. read more

Our waitress was pleasant but made mistakes and was not as professional as we expect in an upscale restaurant. Helpers brought some of the dishes but did not know which table to bring it to. My DIL and I both ordered the burrata salad and French onion soup. The salad was just ok, meh. The soup came, and it was the worst tasting soup I ever had. It was bland, no seasoning whatsoever. I told the server, and he said sorry, it's that it is veal stock and doesn't have a lot of salt in it. He took it away, and the manager or owner came over and said that they had not put any salt in the soup, that's why it was so bad, and they made a new batch. We said no thanks, not necessary, but he insisted. The new soup was just ok, not what I would expect from a French restaurant. They still charged us for both soups even though we told them we were ok without it. He insisted on bringing us the "new batch", then charged us for it. I think that was really in poor taste. A wonderful meal! Service was very attentive too. I must say almost passed on the bread service and that would have been a mistake. I told my husband I would be getting bread again in the future, he said we will never come here and NOT get the bread. I had the Coq au vin and it was delicious. My husband had the Bouillabaisse. It was good, but we both found it to be salty. For dessert we had the quarto chocolate. It was fun. We had half and boxed up the rest to bring back to our son. Dinner there for the first time with another couple. Nice ambiance, but food was not up to par. My husband ordered a $64 filet mignon medium rare to rare and it came out medium well. My friend had the $72 veal chop and it was overcooked and tough. My friend's husband ordered beef bourguigon and it a very small portion and not the stew consistency that was expected. All four of us had the onion soup prepared table side and while it was tasty, it wasn't traditional French. Made with Vidalia onions, it was too sweet. Made reservations for what I thought would be a great experience for our 39th anniversary. There were only 3 couples in the dining room and the room was absolutely freezing. I mean my nose got very cold and all the utensils were ice cold. We ask them to turn down the air and it still continued oh about 65 degrees. That may have skewed my review because I was so cold. The waitress was upselling the whole meal starting with drinks and wine. We started with drinks and bread service. The bread service was a small loaf of French bread that was tasteless. We started with escargot and expecting a French preparation, we got a very sauced escargot out of the shell. Loved the presentation of the escargot out of the shell but the sauce was overwhelming. Very mottled and had a touch of curry? Did not enjoy them. Order the beouf bourginon. The beef was very tendered and tasted very good. We ordered the creme brullee that save this restaurant from getting only 2 stars from me. We first heard of Resto L'Antoinette in Milton while at a Yelp event a couple of months ago and were so impressed by what they offered that night that we decided to have dinner there. Not only was the service impeccable (a special thank you to Lyndsey), but the vibes were also great. It was intimate and romantic, which is perfect for a date night. Now for the food- I can't even describe how good it was. Every single thing from the bread and butter all the way to the dessert was incredible. We had to start out with the Bread Service (Mini french baguette with whipped European butter and sea salt, which is made daily!) and Consommé À L'Oignon Français, which was a French Onion Consommé made with vidalia onions, brioche, and Gruyère. My partner had the Chef's Steak Special with scalloped potatoes and truffles, while I had the Gnocchi Poivron with the eggplant caponata. Of course, when we told that the dessert special was a deconstructed S'more, we had to try that with our after dinner coffee. We absolutely loved our whole experience at Resto L'Antoinette! Went last night with a party of six. The appetizers were excellent - escargot, oysters and mussels. The salads were also great but there were problems after that. I ordered the ribeye special. Well it wasn't special and didn't taste like ribeye. It was the thinnest steak I have ever had and was already sliced. The fries were spectacular but it wasn't worth the cost at all. Two of us had the sole but only one got it with capers and butter sauce. For dessert we ordered the doughnuts - were told that there were six but only got five. We could have gotten another one but we didn't. So it was good but not great. read more

I just don't have the words to describe how wonderful this place is. The atmosphere is perfect. The space is amazing, not many tables so it feels exclusive and special. The vibe is perfect for a date night or special occasion. The food is immaculate, the execution is perfect. From the plating to the taste. Only the best ingredients were used and you are reminded from the first bite to the last. Our server Lyndsey, was kind, helpful and fun. From help with the menu to making sure the table was free of crumbs between courses I couldn't ask for better service. I just don't have a bad thing to say. Now to put a bow on it. My suggestion would be to look nice and make a reservation. If you're looking to eat on the cheap I would go elsewhere. If you are looking for a meal you'll talk about for days. This is your spot. Had no plans of eating out on a random Tuesday night, however, my family and I were out running errands and as the evening approached realized that cooking at home was likely not going to happen. Our waiter, Ryan, was sweet as could be and great at suggesting menu items. Appetizers, entrees, desserts - everything was "c'est magnifique"! From the moment we walked in I knew it would be special...the high ceilings and grandeur of the chandeliers really set the tone for the experience. It's not kitschy French but rather modern sophistication. They offer patio seating as well, but with such a lovely interior and linen draped tables I'd opt to sit inside. They also have a large bar where you can enjoy a drink or dine if you prefer. It actually makes for a lovely venue to host a special occasion/event! Hopefully the word begins to spread and tables fill up quickly...it was a bit empty, but again, it was a random Tuesday night. Everyone's entree was delicious and flavorful, the appetizers were terrific and the desserts, oh the desserts were heavenly. The decor is warm and inviting and can serve as a great backdrop for a special celebration or a casual dinner. I heard the holiday decorations make it feel even more special. We went to discover this place, and welcome them. The set is very agreeable and well thought, sober but stylish decor, excellent music in background, table set a little small for 4 but totally good for 2, classy but not pompous waiter. It is a great place to feel comfortable and not under or over dressed. My wife and I took the steak frite, typical French dish, I would know and there are things to say about it. The steak itself was not the best and cut were thick as opposed to thin. The sauce was not from cooking bone and cream but more like a broth. The frites (French fries) were thick, not cooked all the way. So, Chef, I would like you to suggest to cut the meat thinner, to put a generous sauce made of bone gélatin and cream and pepper, finally to serve French fries that are decent (think varsity French fries) Hence 2 stars removed We will love to come back and try your revised steak frite. read more

A group of 16 of us came to this restaurant to celebrate two birthdays. We had a reservation and arrived at 6:30 - the restaurant was not busy at the time. It took a long time for us to get service and to get our orders taken. The waiter took our appetizer and entree orders at the same time and told us that both would come out together. After we pushed back, they finally agreed to space out the appetizers and entrees. We did not get our food until 8:45. They did not offer us anything to make up for the long wait time and poor service we were receiving. 20% gratuity was already included in the bill so we did not feel that the waiter was incentivized to provide good service. The manager never approached our table to acknowledge the long wait times. Overall, it was a very poor experience, at least with a large group, and the word will be spread. read more

They also have specials in addition to their regular menu every evening. Dessert was also wonderful--chocolate cake and brioche bread pudding with fresh whipped cream. To die for. L'Antoinette is a super French-ish new restaurant in Crabapple. Let's review our recent visits. There is plenty of parking in the adjacent garage, and the walk is short to the front door. The space is dark, warm and inviting with a large bar to the right when entering. Think date night appropriate. There are perhaps 20 tables, and the tables are nicely spaced so that there is plenty of room between you and other guests. The wine list is fairly small for a French restaurant, and on a recent visit the posted Pouilly Fuisse by the glass was not in stock yet, limiting choices further. The food is unexpectedly good, but unexpectedly different, too. For example, steak and frites.... The steak is nicely prepared and the menu claims an Epaule, or shoulder cut. Traditionally in French or Belgian brasseries this dish is a rump cut or an entrecôte, or rib cut, but I'm not being picky. The approximately 1 inch thick steak at L'Antoinette came out tasty and perfectly medium, as ordered, accompanied by large rectangles of pomme frites, or fried potatoes - very untraditional in presentation, and much heavier than expected. We prefer authentic frites, but the dish was very good. L'Antoinette has sole. The fish. And for me it's the standout entree. Typically I've seen sole pan sautéed in Europe, but here they bread and deep fry a de-boned whole cut of the fish, with curly tail still on. And it is delicious. Moist white meat inside. Crusty outside. The buerre noisette, or browned butter with lemon, was a perfect, light accompaniment. Again, fried sole may not be a traditional French presentation, but this dish is outstanding! The coq au vin scared me away on my first visit. I saw pearl onions in the preparation and it reminded me of my mother's frozen peas and pearl onions when I was a kid. But I was brave on a recent dining experience, and while chicken can be boring this entree was amazing, exceeding all expectations. Tender and juicy chicken is presented, braised in red wine along with trumpet mushrooms, haricot blanc and the aforementioned pearl onions. Even the onions were terrific. Great job, chef. Sorry, mom. Bread service is extra. They source from Theo's Brothers Bakery, the best bakery in the area, so while charging extra for bread is sadly on trend now, at least the small baguette you get here is top notch. Pro tip. Order the Moules appetizer (which is classic and terrific) and complimentary bread comes to help mop up the brothy goodness. For Miss M the best thing on the menu is the crème brûlée done in a bananas foster kind of way. She said it's the best she's ever had, and that says a lot coming from her. Service is just ok. They seem a little understaffed for a restaurant that's trying to be an experience, but the food makes up for the service. The service, however, pushes L'Antoinette towards a more casual experience rather than sophisticated one. Overall, Resto L'Antoinette is a great addition to the downtown Crabapple dining scene. It's good enough for a sexy weekend date night, but casual enough for a Tuesday evening. I wish them much success! read more

The service was excellent and the staff was very attentive. There was plenty of parking in the area as well.
