CHICKEN PAILLARD
Chelsea D.

First time here. Great place for American style food. I shared the Chicken Paillard Salad with my mom and the portion size was perfect. The service was great! Our waiter was nice and helpful. Ambience wise: great for families as there is plenty of seating areas and booths but also great for sports fans as the bar area is surrounded by TVs. Would go back as there are a lot of great options :)

This is a great all American restaurant. It's great if you want to go out to eat but don't want to get all fancy. It's nice and roomy. Very clean. The service was amazing here. We got the beer cheese and pretzel bites. I'd say that's the best in the area that I've had (I've had a lot). My husband got the fish and chips and I got the buffalo chicken wrap. Both were good. The wrap was a bit messy, but good! Definitely coming back for a chill Sunday lunch.

Food, service, & ambience were awesome. We've eaten several times an never been disappointed. We got wings & the BLT to go-delicious!

Sunday Brunch is amazing. Make sure you get here early. The line outside starts at 11am! The menu is tasty, affordable, and has something for everyone. The waitress we had was prompt, attentive and very friendly. With the restaurant being so busy, I was very impressed she was able to make us feel welcome and special. You have to try this hometown favorite

First, the host (who I suspect was also the owner, but I didn't ask) was so welcoming and pleasant! We waltzed in on a Saturday afternoon and were quickly seated indoors. The patio, however, looked spacious and lovely, too. We began with a garlic hummus appetizer, which came with carrots, celery and pita bread. It was very refreshing on a hot July day. I chose the candied pecan blackened chicken salad (hold the goat cheese) - very good! My boyfriend opted for the chicken pot pie - note: it came baked with green beans, not green peas, and he still ate every morsel! The service here is great - we weren't rushed, we never had to ask for refills and everyone was so friendly! We highly recommend!

Unique wall paper - old newspaper articles. Cool.

The bartender made an excellent bloody Mary. I don't think they stay open very late though, so if you're looking for a bar this isn't it

They have a place u can put your feet on.. love that. We were promptly greeted and took our drink orders and recommendations for food. Drinks were good. Definitely a good balance. We had the sliders for an appetizer and the risotto balls. The sliders were on the special menu and they were so good. They came out very fresh and hot whereas our entrées took a little bit to come out and this was a little like lukewarm. Overall, the food was good I would just recommend more sauce on the sandwiches. I did feel like after the appetizers came out that the service did go down a little, but the manager did come out and talk to us to see things were. He was very friendly easy to talk to and open to our recommendations. One thing to note is there is very limited parking around here, but they do offer valet that is included if you eat there.

When my friend arrived and time to be seated, she guided us to our table, laid down the menus and walked away before we ever sat down, no words. We went to leave. She never acknowledged our exiting, but my friend told her goodbye, and then she raised her head. While I was waiting on my friend two managers, walked by I say managers because they had keys hanging from their belt and what looked like walkie-talkies. Your hostess and managers killed it and not in a good way. First and last time.

The Manager, David, gave us the best table in the house, and our waiter, Dalton, was FABULOUS - attentive, personable, professional and yet fun! Thanks to all for a perfectly memorable evening!

Probably one of the biggest whiplash-type experiences we've ever had in fine dining. From what we…read morethought it would be, to what it actually was, the whole experience felt like it was set up to be a scam. We were sat inside, in the way back corner, farthest from the door and, in a 90-minute span, we killed at least 10 fruit flies/gnats between us. It's a nice place too that looks very clean, but they had the front door open the entire time. At first, I was trying to be subtle about it, but about halfway through, I was clapping my hands in the air and wiping bug guts on the white tablecloth. They may have been coming from the window next to me, but it was a little off-putting to say the least. The server did pick up on this, but didn't offer a different table or to at least close the front door. We didn't make a big deal about it, but by the time the wine bottle was open, we were shooing critters off our glasses regularly. Our server, who was clearly not French, kept calling us monsieur and madame and the accent was so forced, it became real cringe real fast. Please stop making the servers pretend they're French. And to be fair, our server was great, none of this was on them, but the fake French posturing HAS to be derided by the staff, so this complaint is for THEM. Unless they are a.) FROM France or b.) fluent IN French, native English is fine and preferred. This is not a place for improv and you wouldn't make an Olive Garden server speak like Mario and Luigi. Maybe our server was into it, but it became extremely painful as the dinner continued to go downhill. For entrees, I ordered the rib-eye (which includes comp refills) and SO ordered the filet. When the filet came out, it smelled loudly like a barnyard. After a few bites from each corner, it was sent back. The smell could only be compared to cow poop, and I honestly can't believe the kitchen sent it out. $64 filet and I wouldn't have given it to a stray dog. No aging on the filet also--just a bad piece of meat they tried to pawn off on a guest. My rib-eye was small (understanding with the whole "free refills" thing) and not steaming hot, but the filet's odor was a bigger problem when the plates hit the table, so I just went with it. SO couldn't/wouldn't order anything else and I don't blame them. The meat was clearly bad, and it resulted in some minor gastro issues the following day, even after just a few bites. The manager did come to the table to apologize and offered a replacement, but SO was uninterested. Going back to my entree, the "frites" that came with my ribeye were a frozen product: those battered/orange fries you get from the drive-thru at Checkers. Gross and disappointing and this is where I felt like I was being scammed. I think they claim somewhere "twice fried in beef tallow" but I know a fast-food-style fry when I taste it/see it. Also, the plate presentation was just the ribeye and fries. No garlic aioli, no ketchup, no parsley, no lemon, no garnish. Chef clearly doesn't know the 3-color rule and considering the size of the cut, it looked like something you'd get at a diner with fried eggs (and the entree has a $59 price tag also). The refill was hotter and closer to medium, and I enjoyed it more than the first one, but I wasn't risking a third helping and didn't want to have to wait anyway with my SO sitting there with nothing in front of them. Ultimately, we grinned through all of it and stayed for dessert. How hard can that be? Well, the creme brûlée was either over-whipped or too eggy. More like a flan. Not awful, but it's didn't help the dinner at that point and it was the only item the SO was interested in after the filet debacle and it was just ok. You'd think the brûlée at a French bistro would knock your socks off, right? It was meh. I followed up with a call to the restaurant and left a message to speak with the manager who touched our table regarding the filet. Not looking for a refund and you couldn't pay me to revisit, but he should know that there were multiple failings that night, not just their attempt to sell spoiled meat.

What made matters worse, she served another person who sat down after I did, which lead me back to the hostess desk because I did not want to have a bad experience at the bar!!! I sat outside and the wait was very long before a familiar waiter (the saving grace of this experience) came along. Another waiter brought my drink spilling out and I had to ask for napkins, otherwise it would be a mess. Food is always on point! I had the 'Fruit of the Sea' Special. DELICIOUS!! Service from my waiter, Curtis, was EXCELLENT and exceeded my expectations!! I've been to Coalition a few times before because it is my go-to for seafood. Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite. We were seated near the kitchen, which wasn't a problem. The restaurant had a soccer game on the TV, but it was quiet and there was no indication anything unusual was about to happen. Without warning, a group of approximately eight staff members gathered just a few feet from our table and erupted into an extremely loud celebration, screaming at the top of their lungs as if they were in a sports bar. The outburst startled us so badly that it literally sent my husband into atrial fibrillation (AFib). He was visibly shaken and extremely upset, and we were prepared to leave immediately. Our waiter could clearly see how distressed we were. Since we had already ordered the lobster bites appetizer, he kindly offered to move us to another table. We appreciated his effort and accepted. We finished the appetizer, but by then the evening was ruined, so we left and had dinner elsewhere. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of management involvement. Our waiter knew exactly what had happened and how upset we were, yet not once did a manager come to our table to apologize, ask if my husband was okay, or acknowledge that the staff's behavior was completely inappropriate for a fine dining restaurant. This wasn't about cheering for a game--it was about professionalism. Guests who choose a steakhouse expect a calm, enjoyable atmosphere, not to be startled by employees screaming just feet away from their table. We have always enjoyed Coalition, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I hope management addresses this with their staff so no other guests have their evening ruined the way ours was. We will not be back. Later Added: I just found out the Manager was one of the ones screaming. Pathetic! We went to PappaDeauxs which was half the price and honestly better food & calm atmosphere! Not a sports bar!
