I cannot stop talking about the wonderful time we had at Carrie's Conservatory inside The Hamilton Hotel. I hosted a bridal shower for my now daughter-in-law at Carrie's Conservatory. Since I am from out of state and the shower was literally the night before the wedding, the planning of the event was no easy task, but Elle made it a breeze! Elle answered all my questions and made me feel so at ease. Elle went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Elle took care of us like we were her own family. She and Luke were so accommodating with the table placement and decorations. The room was beautiful, the food was amazing and everyone had an incredible time! Not quite sure what has happened to this place, but as a professional chef I have to ask myself what the EC or CDC is thinking.... While the titled menu items sound good, the execution is poor at best! It's very reminiscent of Chefs I've known who come up with a concept then leave it to their incompetent kitchen works to execute. Tasted a bit of everything then decided it was better to leave than send anything back. This place is not nearly what is used to be, although the bartenders did manage to hold the place down with their cocktails. Insofar as the food is concerned, my only recommendation is... hire a new chef!!! read more

This really is a hotel bar with food more than a restaurant, even though it could be. We had a food credit at the hotel, so went there for dinner one night. Most of the tables are high top tables, so we sat outside on the lovely patio. The service was good. My date ordered the halibut which was delicious and we shared the kale caesar salad which was also good. I ordered the ribeye which was very just OK, nothing amazing. The waiter told us that they keep changing the concept at this restaurant and want to be a steak house. Oh boy, they should not become a steak house. The halibut was better than the ribeye and the potatoes we ordered were really like some kind of cheesy fondue mashed potatoes that we did not finish. I think they should revamp the menu with some trendy basics like flatbreads, salads, catch of the day (since that was the best thing we had), some salmon, grilled shrimp, maybe some pasta dishes, roasted cauliflower and brussels sprouts. read more

My friend and I popped into Carrie's Conservatory for dessert. They were completely out of all the other desserts except the chocolate molten cake. I usually don't go for chocolate desserts but I'm so glad they made the decision for me. The chocolate molten cake is amazing! It's something you put in your mouth and you just sit and savor the texture, flavor, taste, everything. It came with a side of vanilla ice cream and crunchy almond butter? The waitress wasn't sure what it is but it was very good. The warm smoothness of the cake with raspberry filling, the crunchiness of the almond butter and the cold creaminess of the ice cream is a wonderful combination. I would return just for this dish. A fancy little brasserie of the sorts. I had the duck banh mi and an upgraded side of truffle fries. I really enjoyed both items. The duck was sliced thinly, and the sandwich had a savory sauce with it, along with the buttery and crispy French baguette token of the banh mi. Because of the flavors here already, the duck taste didn't prominently present itself, so the classic pork probably would have been better from a flavor perspective. However, it was a clever trick to level up and fancify for Alpharetta's elites (and maybe Yelp Elites too). The fries were killer good. Super light, crispy, and dazzled with some nice oil (truffle?). The parmesan crisp strings were also beautifully crafted and dusted onto the fries. read more

I had decent hopes for this place- at the very least for cocktails. I did have a premonition that because of the low number of reviews, lack of user generated photos and the fact I hadn't heard anything about it that it was possibly not good, but I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt and thought perhaps it was just a bit unknown. Finally went here tonight for a date night with my husband before catching a movie. To start, the ambiance is fine- chic, but not as chic as the photos make it out to be. I would have expected more greenery and lighting in the courtyard area too. For drinks, I ordered the Art Basil, and my husband ordered a Whiskey Smash. Both drinks were on the sour side and pretty weak, or at least the sourness overpowered the alcohol. At the end I only finished my drink because I had paid for it. For food, we split a mushroom flatbread and each ordered salads- I got the beet salad, and my husband the Waldorf. Both were OK at best. Nothing about these salads tasted spectacular, but they get the job done. The mushroom flatbread was not very flat- if anything it was thick and chewy. I will give them positive points for generous use of mushrooms, but nothing about this flatbread was impressive. I found all flavors to be basic and forgettable. And then we ended up paying some $80 bucks without tip. Service was also mediocre. Fine, but not really friendly or making you feel at home. In a pinch, sure, this place is fine, but I don't see myself going back as I have no reason to. read more

Excellent new option for some great culinary arts. It smelled like the Kimpton De Witt in Amsterdam inside this boutique hotel and brought back some memories for me. We had some amazing food here! I personally had the Tomato & Shrimp Bisque and it was so creamy and bursting with flavor! I also had the Avocado Pecan Lime Bowl and added a piece of grilled mahi-mahi that was literally the best mahi I've ever tasted! BOMB! Finished it all off with a nice double expresso. This hotel feels like you've stepped out of the country. Do yourself and take a staycation that will leave you thankful you did! read more

We had the mahi mahi sandwich and the burger. Both were good, the fish has a kick to it! However, the service (as described in other reviews) is sub par. We were literally the only table seated when we first arrived and still felt more like a bother, than a guest. This is a cute addition to the hotel, but I was hoping it might be a fun spot for locals as well. Hopefully things will improve. When things warm up, we will go back and try the patio to give it another fair shot. read more

Carrie's Conservatory is a slick bar and dinning scene in downtown Alpharetta, nestled in the fairly new Hamilton Hotel on Milton Avenue. Having visited this restaurant in the early days of the hotel's opening, I can say that the drink menu and the food has markedly changed, and for the better. Prior to the recent shift in quality, the food was uninspired and the drink selection wasn't as imaginative. I was pleasantly surprised to see the place got an upgrade! Since this indoor and outdoor dining experience with a full bar is deep in the heart of this beautiful hotel, you might miss what it has to offer. I highly recommend checking it out. Modern, slick feel. Huge drink selection. Excellent food. My only critique/suggestion: the lights need to be warmed up and dimmed a little. This is the one change I didn't much care for in the bar area: it's just too bright. Soft and relaxing tones compliment faces and put people in more romantic, relaxed moods. Other than that, I don't have any other constructive criticism. read more

We had just flown in on a Sunday night and EVERYTHING to eat was closed. We called and they said the kitchen was open for another 45 mins. We ran over and had wings & the mahi mahi sandwich and it was SO GOID! We both were super happy with our meal, but Dwayne at the bar made it 100 times better! He totally made us feel welcome and not like we were running in at the last minute. We chatted bourbon and he even let us sample a few. This restaurant and bar in the brand new Hamilton Hotel is starting out well. Day 3, I believe. Ate lunch there. The Mahi Mahi sandwich was extraordinary. The fish was cooked perfectly and fresh as if just off the boat. Big airy ceiling and seating also on the expansive outdoor patio area. Decor is a bit spare. Food is worth the chance. Now that $9 latte was a bit dear and sub par. I'm sure they'll get the kinks worked out shortly. Check it out. read more

Very pretty place. The Skinny Dipping cocktail was fantastic. Very large outdoor space. The restaurant manager said that they are working on outdoor activities and more events. This was a cute surprise inside the hotel on first floor. Coffee was good and the atmosphere was very chic.

The experience was disappointing. The environment was very attractive. Very nice outdoor area and nice indoors. However, the noise levels are too loud. Add to that the DJ blasting music, you can't hear anyone talk. It is a restaurant so not being able to have a conversation seems contrary to enjoying dinner with friends. Also, we waited forever for our drinks. The food is okay. Not worth it for us. We won't return. read more

So first time here. Wait staff super nice, but not a lot of people here and I felt like it was a little slow. I had the crab and corn fritters and they were tasty. Had the aviation drink for 17 bucks ouch. Powerful and fruity and sweet not what I was expecting. The first drink I ordered couldn't be delivered. This drink didn't have the edible flower...all blamed on covid ordering issues. The parking btw is 18 valet..WTH!! Who does that?? You can park down the street at the parking garage for free so know this ahead of time. I ordered a Caesar salad and creme Brulee. The food was good, but this place is pricey. I guess for a boutique hotel you expect that. There was live entertainment...guitar players that played nice soft music. It's a French flare restaurant with extensive French pricing. I'm still stuck on the 18 valet. The front desk lady wasn't that nice. Overall I was satisfied, but expect to drop the bucks!!!! read more

Very expensive bar/lounge dining experience....although a very nice small space. No regular tables, high tops and lounge-type seating. $30 salmon is obscene. $16 drinks. The food was good, not great. The winner in our group was the Ribeye. For this price point, the wait staff needs to be much sharper. Our server had little knowledge of the menu. And, when the food showed up, our server had no clue who ordered what and handed out the food like it was Arbys. With drinks and tip, it ended up being close to $100 per person. The overall experience did not meet that price point. read more

Living in Alpharetta for over 35 years it's great to have a landmark hotel like The Hamilton in city center that is different from the Avalon atmosphere. Went there with my wife on Friday night for a cocktail before dinner elsewhere and found the bar to be at about 20 percent capacity with four bartenders working. It took 10 minutes before a bartender approached, and that was after a different guy walked up to the bar and the bartender waited on him first. I used to work as a consultant to Hilton Hotels based out of Beverly Hills and have both worked and stayed in a number of their full service hotels. To have a bar this empty with four bartenders working and to wait 10 minutes even to get acknowledged let alone take our order is an embarrassment. The hotel management needs to provide better oversight and get better bartenders, especially for what they charge for a drink. And having a bartender say "I'll have to check to see if we have the ingredients to make that drink" shows poorly trained staff. The drinks were okay, but the service was unacceptable. read more

Great space, very trendy. Has small plates, sandwiches, 3 entrees - a fish a chicken and steak and deserts. Over priced I thought, it was almost $20 for a Caesar with 4-5 shrimp. Drinks are good, also pricey, but the space and ambiance are very nice. Also no complaints on the service - Top notch. read more
