My friend and I popped into Carrie's Conservatory for dessert. They were completely out of all the other desserts except the chocolate molten cake. I usually don't go for chocolate desserts but I'm so glad they made the decision for me. The chocolate molten cake is amazing! It's something you put in your mouth and you just sit and savor the texture, flavor, taste, everything. It came with a side of vanilla ice cream and crunchy almond butter? The waitress wasn't sure what it is but it was very good. The warm smoothness of the cake with raspberry filling, the crunchiness of the almond butter and the cold creaminess of the ice cream is a wonderful combination. I would return just for this dish. It tastes better than it appears.

Duck banh mi with upgraded side of truffle fries

A fancy little brasserie of the sorts. I had the duck banh mi and an upgraded side of truffle fries. I really enjoyed both items. The duck was sliced thinly, and the sandwich had a savory sauce with it, along with the buttery and crispy French baguette token of the banh mi. Because of the flavors here already, the duck taste didn't prominently present itself, so the classic pork probably would have been better from a flavor perspective. However, it was a clever trick to level up and fancify for Alpharetta's elites (and maybe Yelp Elites too). The fries were killer good. Super light, crispy, and dazzled with some nice oil (truffle?). The parmesan crisp strings were also beautifully crafted and dusted onto the fries.

Excellent service and food! We walked over after church and enjoyed a nice meal on the patio. Quiet and peaceful with friends. Highly recommend it! Never disappoints.

    Mushroom and fontina flatbread

I had decent hopes for this place- at the very least for cocktails. I did have a premonition that because of the low number of reviews, lack of user generated photos and the fact I hadn't heard anything about it that it was possibly not good, but I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt and thought perhaps it was just a bit unknown. Finally went here tonight for a date night with my husband before catching a movie. To start, the ambiance is fine- chic, but not as chic as the photos make it out to be. I would have expected more greenery and lighting in the courtyard area too. For drinks, I ordered the Art Basil, and my husband ordered a Whiskey Smash. Both drinks were on the sour side and pretty weak, or at least the sourness overpowered the alcohol. At the end I only finished my drink because I had paid for it. For food, we split a mushroom flatbread and each ordered salads- I got the beet salad, and my husband the Waldorf. Both were OK at best. Nothing about these salads tasted spectacular, but they get the job done. The mushroom flatbread was not very flat- if anything it was thick and chewy. I will give them positive points for generous use of mushrooms, but nothing about this flatbread was impressive. I found all flavors to be basic and forgettable. And then we ended up paying some $80 bucks without tip. Service was also mediocre. Fine, but not really friendly or making you feel at home. In a pinch, sure, this place is fine, but I don't see myself going back as I have no reason to.

Excellent new option for some great culinary arts. It smelled like the Kimpton De Witt in Amsterdam inside this boutique hotel and brought back some memories for me. We had some amazing food here! I personally had the Tomato & Shrimp Bisque and it was so creamy and bursting with flavor! I also had the Avocado Pecan Lime Bowl and added a piece of grilled mahi-mahi that was literally the best mahi I've ever tasted! BOMB! Finished it all off with a nice double expresso. This hotel feels like you've stepped out of the country. Do yourself and take a staycation that will leave you thankful you did!

This restaurant and bar in the brand new Hamilton Hotel is starting out well. Day 3, I believe. Ate lunch there. The Mahi Mahi sandwich was extraordinary. The fish was cooked perfectly and fresh as if just off the boat. Big airy ceiling and seating also on the expansive outdoor patio area. Decor is a bit spare. Food is worth the chance. Now that $9 latte was a bit dear and sub par. I'm sure they'll get the kinks worked out shortly. Check it out.

    Large outdoor space.

Very pretty place. The Skinny Dipping cocktail was fantastic. Very large outdoor space. The restaurant manager said that they are working on outdoor activities and more events. We only had drinks to check it out. Service was ok. But since it was recently opened, they may have some kinks to work out. Give it a try.

Probably one of the biggest whiplash-type experiences we've ever had in fine dining. From what we…read morethought it would be, to what it actually was, the whole experience felt like it was set up to be a scam. We were sat inside, in the way back corner, farthest from the door and, in a 90-minute span, we killed at least 10 fruit flies/gnats between us. It's a nice place too that looks very clean, but they had the front door open the entire time. At first, I was trying to be subtle about it, but about halfway through, I was clapping my hands in the air and wiping bug guts on the white tablecloth. They may have been coming from the window next to me, but it was a little off-putting to say the least. The server did pick up on this, but didn't offer a different table or to at least close the front door. We didn't make a big deal about it, but by the time the wine bottle was open, we were shooing critters off our glasses regularly. Our server, who was clearly not French, kept calling us monsieur and madame and the accent was so forced, it became real cringe real fast. Please stop making the servers pretend they're French. And to be fair, our server was great, none of this was on them, but the fake French posturing HAS to be derided by the staff, so this complaint is for THEM. Unless they are a.) FROM France or b.) fluent IN French, native English is fine and preferred. This is not a place for improv and you wouldn't make an Olive Garden server speak like Mario and Luigi. Maybe our server was into it, but it became extremely painful as the dinner continued to go downhill. For entrees, I ordered the rib-eye (which includes comp refills) and SO ordered the filet. When the filet came out, it smelled loudly like a barnyard. After a few bites from each corner, it was sent back. The smell could only be compared to cow poop, and I honestly can't believe the kitchen sent it out. $64 filet and I wouldn't have given it to a stray dog. No aging on the filet also--just a bad piece of meat they tried to pawn off on a guest. My rib-eye was small (understanding with the whole "free refills" thing) and not steaming hot, but the filet's odor was a bigger problem when the plates hit the table, so I just went with it. SO couldn't/wouldn't order anything else and I don't blame them. The meat was clearly bad, and it resulted in some minor gastro issues the following day, even after just a few bites. The manager did come to the table to apologize and offered a replacement, but SO was uninterested. Going back to my entree, the "frites" that came with my ribeye were a frozen product: those battered/orange fries you get from the drive-thru at Checkers. Gross and disappointing and this is where I felt like I was being scammed. I think they claim somewhere "twice fried in beef tallow" but I know a fast-food-style fry when I taste it/see it. Also, the plate presentation was just the ribeye and fries. No garlic aioli, no ketchup, no parsley, no lemon, no garnish. Chef clearly doesn't know the 3-color rule and considering the size of the cut, it looked like something you'd get at a diner with fried eggs (and the entree has a $59 price tag also). The refill was hotter and closer to medium, and I enjoyed it more than the first one, but I wasn't risking a third helping and didn't want to have to wait anyway with my SO sitting there with nothing in front of them. Ultimately, we grinned through all of it and stayed for dessert. How hard can that be? Well, the creme brûlée was either over-whipped or too eggy. More like a flan. Not awful, but it's didn't help the dinner at that point and it was the only item the SO was interested in after the filet debacle and it was just ok. You'd think the brûlée at a French bistro would knock your socks off, right? It was meh. I followed up with a call to the restaurant and left a message to speak with the manager who touched our table regarding the filet. Not looking for a refund and you couldn't pay me to revisit, but he should know that there were multiple failings that night, not just their attempt to sell spoiled meat.

To start... cocktails and martinis with Blue point oysters!!! The crackers! And add the bread with that fabulous butter! Next up, the Duck Confit... a little cassoulet... amazing. Entrees- Dover sole, out of this world and beef Bourgogne like we were in France! The wine was lovely as was the entire experience. There is a public parking lot just across the street (paid parking), which was very convenient and just steps from the entrance. When you walk thru the little blue door, there is a very charming wooden staircase up to the restaurant. The inside is very charming. Lots of natural wood decor and a touch on the antique side. We arrived for a late lunch and had our choose of places to sit. We chose to sit next to the bar with a beautiful view of the balcony and canton street. If the weather were nicer, that balcony would have been THE place to be. Our server was so A++. Since we were in the room by ourselves, she adjusted the music for us, which was very appreciated and personalized. We wanted a little throwback experience to traveling through France and the many little cafes that we visited. I ordered a croque madame with a side salad. My other half ordered an alsacienne flatbread. The madame was very hearty and the salad generous. It had a lovely Dijon vinaigrette, which I loved but some may find a bit sharp/spicy. The flatbread had a similar flavor to the Tarte Flambee but a different look. The dessert menu was tempting, but we didn't have any space for a sweet treat. Next time ... Would I go back - absolutely. I could also see this as a perfect place for a ladies lunch or brunch. With a little pre-planning, it could also be a really fun, upscale venue for a bridal/baby shower too. I can already imagine a glass of bubbles and being surrounded by family and friends.

Unfortunately this is not the kind of bakery where you can pick up some loaves, baguettes, etc. so I'd consider this more of a cafe. We consumed two half sandwiches (honey maple and roast beef) there, took a couple of croissants and a bread pudding to go. The sandwiches were good, nothing spectacular, but fresh ingredients and well-executed. The croissants were definitely better than average and far better than what you can find most places in the US. Having had croissants in France, I would say this comes pretty close. We didn't have any trouble finding a table or parking right out front, it must have been just past the lunch rush on a Saturday.
