    French Onion Soup

You know a restaurant is good if you've visited not once but twice in the same week! Thursday was a night that I craved peace and quiet, so I decided to try La Belle Vie Kitchen solo. Between the book that I was reading and the ambience, this place was all that I needed for an evening to reset and unplug. The service was top-notch and so was the meal. Salmon Beurre Blanc with garlic mashed potatoes did not disappoint. No corners were cut, I was beyond pleased. Full flavor and pan-seared perfectly. Add French Onion Soup du Jour as a starter and Crème Brûlée for dessert and it was like being served a dose of everything I wanted in exactly the right portions. Oh, and last but not least, the server waited on a large party so the Chef was kind enough to double as my server. When I told him I had done myself a disservice for the past 8 years of being just 3 miles away and never dining there, he shared that 2025 marks his 8th year since opening the restaurant. Now that I am a fan, I will make sure to support for as long as the doors are open.

This is such a cute cafe. I really enjoy the seating inside. It's adorable. The food here was nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken and waffles and the croissants are awesome. My friends had shrimp and grits, and some other more savory menu items (couldn't be me. Sweet for the win). They thought they were decent. We did have one thing-- there is not much in terms of vegan options. There was supposed to be a vegan platter on the menu but when we went, we were told they do not have it. So I am not sure about how much there would be to eat if you have any vegans in your group! But the waitress was super nice and attentive and the atmosphere was great. I thought presentation of the food was amazing and I personally enjoyed it!

My friend insisted we go here for lunch because he liked the chill atmosphere. It is very laid back and I also enjoyed the friendly service. The Tuna Tataki Salad was tasty too! All in all it was a great lunch and I left feeling healthy!

Came on a Sunday afternoon around 12.30 and the place is mostly full. Seems to be a popular brunch spot for the locals. Many people are nicely dressed. Mimosa seems to be a common orders for many table although we didn't order it. Just an observation from other tables around us. The food and drinks are just so-so. Not bad but also not memorable/out of this world. Would we come back again? Eh...maybe. It's good to know that an option exists nearby our place.

Our first visit and what an amazing gem! Our breakfast frittata and my poached eggs were very good. And our young server was excellent. The environment was very nice.

What a hidden gem on peachtree industrial blvd In suwanee! Lots of seating including a beautiful outdoor patio! Loved the lights and the decorations. I went once for brunch and ordered the egg benedict and chicken&waffle. Chicken and waffle was delicious! It's one of those dishes that you think can't be messed up but it easily is. However they cooked it well. Chicken was flavorful and cooked perfectly and the waffle wasn't soggy. The egg benedict wasn't my type of dish. They overcooked the eggs so you didn't get the runny yolk when you pop the poached egg. I might've expected the typical hollandaise sauce, but it definitely wasn't it. Potatoes were delicious though -- I'd have to say it was one of the best potatoes I've had for brunch. We visited again for dinner and ordered the arugula prosciutto pizza, grilled octopus, and calamari. Prosciutto was a bit too salty for me, but overall it tasted good. I was very pleased to have found such a great restaurant 5 minutes from my home!

The ambiance is relaxed and dimly lit- perfect for a date night! The staff are polite and check in just enough, but not too much. The food was delicious! I got the smoked octopus and my husband got a burger. The meat was all fresh and as described on the menu. The greens were very fresh! Fries were average wrinkle fries but topped with amazing truffles that totally transformed them. Drinks were excellent. We would definitely visit again.

We've been here for dinner before and decided to come back and try their bunch. So glad that we did - attentive service and food was delicious. We ordered Crème Brûlée French Toast, Gravlax Florentine Benedict, and Chicken Biscuit - it was a pleasant surprise with their $3 mimosa special today

I celebrated my birthday with my friends here. I am happy that my friends love everything about the place, the food, the good service and the ambiance.

Stopped in to see what this place was all about. The dining area is beautiful! My server was quick to take my order in the most pleasant fashion. She offered mini croissants and I couldn't resist! They came fresh out the over drizzled with honey butter. Omg! So good! I ordered the egg platter after. Portion size was exactly what I needed. Everything was amazing except for the grits. The grits were hard and milky. Kinda gross. Overall it was a great experience and I can't wait to stop in again...but avoid the grits. Lol. I hear their lunch/dinner spread is divine. I will have to check it out. #ashsaidit

    Mimosas on Saturday's?

Yes! They were only $5 each the last time we visited in January 2021!

Do they take large groups of over 15?

I would call ahead. There were a few tables that looked like they could seat groups of 8, but 15 could be a stretch.

Do they have a kid s menu?

Yes. Burger, Alfredo pasta with roasted pulled chicken, salmon with veggies, and others I can't remember.

To start... cocktails and martinis with Blue point oysters!!! The crackers! And add the bread with that fabulous butter! Next up, the Duck Confit... a little cassoulet... amazing. Entrees- Dover sole, out of this world and beef Bourgogne like we were in France! The wine was lovely as was the entire experience. Bon Appetite My only note was that they missed wishing us Happy Anniversary.

Probably one of the biggest whiplash-type experiences we've ever had in fine dining. From what we…read morethought it would be, to what it actually was, the whole experience felt like it was set up to be a scam. We were sat inside, in the way back corner, farthest from the door and, in a 90-minute span, we killed at least 10 fruit flies/gnats between us. It's a nice place too that looks very clean, but they had the front door open the entire time. At first, I was trying to be subtle about it, but about halfway through, I was clapping my hands in the air and wiping bug guts on the white tablecloth. They may have been coming from the window next to me, but it was a little off-putting to say the least. The server did pick up on this, but didn't offer a different table or to at least close the front door. We didn't make a big deal about it, but by the time the wine bottle was open, we were shooing critters off our glasses regularly. Our server, who was clearly not French, kept calling us monsieur and madame and the accent was so forced, it became real cringe real fast. Please stop making the servers pretend they're French. And to be fair, our server was great, none of this was on them, but the fake French posturing HAS to be derided by the staff, so this complaint is for THEM. Unless they are a.) FROM France or b.) fluent IN French, native English is fine and preferred. This is not a place for improv and you wouldn't make an Olive Garden server speak like Mario and Luigi. Maybe our server was into it, but it became extremely painful as the dinner continued to go downhill. For entrees, I ordered the rib-eye (which includes comp refills) and SO ordered the filet. When the filet came out, it smelled loudly like a barnyard. After a few bites from each corner, it was sent back. The smell could only be compared to cow poop, and I honestly can't believe the kitchen sent it out. $64 filet and I wouldn't have given it to a stray dog. No aging on the filet also--just a bad piece of meat they tried to pawn off on a guest. My rib-eye was small (understanding with the whole "free refills" thing) and not steaming hot, but the filet's odor was a bigger problem when the plates hit the table, so I just went with it. SO couldn't/wouldn't order anything else and I don't blame them. The meat was clearly bad, and it resulted in some minor gastro issues the following day, even after just a few bites. The manager did come to the table to apologize and offered a replacement, but SO was uninterested. Going back to my entree, the "frites" that came with my ribeye were a frozen product: those battered/orange fries you get from the drive-thru at Checkers. Gross and disappointing and this is where I felt like I was being scammed. I think they claim somewhere "twice fried in beef tallow" but I know a fast-food-style fry when I taste it/see it. Also, the plate presentation was just the ribeye and fries. No garlic aioli, no ketchup, no parsley, no lemon, no garnish. Chef clearly doesn't know the 3-color rule and considering the size of the cut, it looked like something you'd get at a diner with fried eggs (and the entree has a $59 price tag also). The refill was hotter and closer to medium, and I enjoyed it more than the first one, but I wasn't risking a third helping and didn't want to have to wait anyway with my SO sitting there with nothing in front of them. Ultimately, we grinned through all of it and stayed for dessert. How hard can that be? Well, the creme brûlée was either over-whipped or too eggy. More like a flan. Not awful, but it's didn't help the dinner at that point and it was the only item the SO was interested in after the filet debacle and it was just ok. You'd think the brûlée at a French bistro would knock your socks off, right? It was meh. I followed up with a call to the restaurant and left a message to speak with the manager who touched our table regarding the filet. Not looking for a refund and you couldn't pay me to revisit, but he should know that there were multiple failings that night, not just their attempt to sell spoiled meat.

I was really looking forward to trying the oysters, but I didn't realize their menu changes often so unfortunately, no oysters this time. A little sad about that! We decided to order pretty much everything off the à la carte menu. Overall, the food was just okay to me. The Brussels sprouts were the hardest to eat they were basically raw, just thinly sliced with sauce poured over. It would've been much better if they were at least steamed or grilled a bit. The mushrooms, though, were absolutely BOMB! If I didn't know what it was, I would've thought it was some sort of meat dish super soft, flavorful, and delicious. Definitely the highlight of the meal. The Wagyu, on the other hand, was a big disappointment. For the price, it was tough and chewy when it should've been buttery and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Overall, the place is cute and the vibes are nice, but the food was overpriced for what it was. I'd only come back for those mushrooms they were that good.

I placed an order for everything on the carte menu. Food was fun and a few of the dishes caught me off guard, in a good way. Pros. We loveeed the maitake mushrooms. This dish was one dish my friend and I had low expectations for. Ironically it's the only dish we would go back for! The bucatini I also had low expectations for. I hardly order pasta, from non pasta specialty places, because the pasta is 99% of the time going to be overcooked. BUT this bucatini was cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce was rich but not too heavy and just enough to cover the noodles without drowning. The crab taste was pretty faint. If it weren't listed on the menu I wouldn't even think it were in the dish. Cons. The brussel sprout salad was honestly almost inedible. It is a raw shaved brussel sprout salad, dressed as a Caesar salad. Although not bad tasting, the core of the sprouts was not tender but dry and hard. There was also a lot of it. Most disappointing was the "waygu ribeye". The quality was pretty horrible. The piece we got had silver skin as well as chunks of fat. I wish I got a picture of the leftover fat from the steak but if you look at my picture you can clearly see slices of just fat. I love a little fat on a well cooked ribeye and do not mind paying for it. But paying $50 for a probably 8oz "waygu" ribeye with only half of it palatable is wild. Regardless, I'm actually going back in a couple of days with my husband because of those amazing mushrooms.. though as I am writing this review I'm debating on canceling my reservation, ordering the mushrooms to go, and just going elsewhere. lol

There is a public parking lot just across the street (paid parking), which was very convenient and just steps from the entrance. When you walk thru the little blue door, there is a very charming wooden staircase up to the restaurant. The inside is very charming. Lots of natural wood decor and a touch on the antique side. We arrived for a late lunch and had our choose of places to sit. We chose to sit next to the bar with a beautiful view of the balcony and canton street. If the weather were nicer, that balcony would have been THE place to be. Our server was so A++. Since we were in the room by ourselves, she adjusted the music for us, which was very appreciated and personalized. We wanted a little throwback experience to traveling through France and the many little cafes that we visited. I ordered a croque madame with a side salad. My other half ordered an alsacienne flatbread. The madame was very hearty and the salad generous. It had a lovely Dijon vinaigrette, which I loved but some may find a bit sharp/spicy. The flatbread had a similar flavor to the Tarte Flambee but a different look. The dessert menu was tempting, but we didn't have any space for a sweet treat. Next time ... Would I go back - absolutely. I could also see this as a perfect place for a ladies lunch or brunch. With a little pre-planning, it could also be a really fun, upscale venue for a bridal/baby shower too. I can already imagine a glass of bubbles and being surrounded by family and friends.

We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation, but were told our table was already ready, so we were seated. (The restaurant tables are very close together, so be aware that if anyone in your party is wheelchair bound, it may be difficult for them to maneuver around.) The restaurant is kept very warm inside, and I'm usually someone who feels cold easily, but even I was rather hot. A woman brought water glasses and a water carafe to our table and said, "If you want something besides water, just let me know," and then walked off. So, in my mind, that woman was a food assistant or a food runner. Turned out, she was our waitress! She later stopped by, didn't introduce herself and didn't ask if we'd ever been there before, but did ask if we wanted an appetizer. We ordered Potato Pancakes. She also asked if we wanted bread service, so we said yes. We did notice from other conversations at the very close tables near ours, that many of the customers are regulars and have their favorite waitstaff. The manager had stopped by a table to regrettably inform a couple that their favorite waiter was out for 2 weeks. So, that did give us hope that if they have regulars, it must be good. The Potato Pancakes were delicious! (I didn't even stop to snap a picture because we were very hungry!) My husband ordered the "Bier" + Cheese Burger ($16.95), and I ordered the Pork Shank "Schwweinehaxe" ($34). The waitress said she had to check the availability of the Pork Shank, so I told her that if it wasn't available, to put in Chicken Wienerschnitzel. Then she didn't come back to let us know what the kitchen said. My husband flagged her down to find out if the pork shank was available, and she said she'd forgotten to come back, but that it was. He also told her that it was my birthday, so she brought out a cute birthday tea light for the table. The food was absolutely delicious, and for the price point, you can easily see why people are regulars there! The pork shank was enormous! (We ate off of it 2 more times after we took it home. The restaurant gave us extra gravy at no charge, too.) The rosemary mashed potatoes were very good! The presentation was lovely! My husband really enjoyed his burger. Then for dessert, our waitress brought out a slice of tiramisu with a wedge of chocolate cake over it, berries, whipped cream, and a little birthday candle in it. Turned out really wonderful! Will definitely go back to this unique spot!

I'd try them again for dinner to see if it's better, but going back for brunch, not likely.

My husband didn't tell them it's our anniversary until we arrived and they set up a cute anniversary table super quick!!! They placed a card with the staff's signatures on it. Our serve Leon was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. The ambiance was super fancy but still yet very laid back. The food... THE FOOD!!! Ugh!! Was amazing. Everything we had, had wonderful flavors and it all paired so well. From the tender bone in ribeye with bacon cowboy butter to the saucy lobster Mac and cheese to the creamy lobster bisque with lobster bits. Everything was top tier. They gave us a free dessert for our anniversary and muffins to go! They didn't let us pack anything, they packed it and gave you a signature Frankie's tote. This place gives you that same feeling as if your parents read you a bedtime story, tucked you in, gave you a kiss on your forehead and sent you to a sweet sleep! LOL! I miss you already frankyyyyy!
