I stopped here on the way to Juno beach once I realized that I'd run out of restaurant options heading north. I see a lot of good reviews, which are probably because of the service, which was fine. But if the patrons sat inside and watched their food being prepared I'm sure they would be as appalled as I was. NO ONE (not cooks, not servers/cashiers, not anyone) EVER washed their hands. The servers/cashiers handled clean plates, dirty plates, money, silverware, cups, touched doors, etc. the cooks don't wear gloves, and they are also touching a variety of things. I'm not a germaphobe, but I believe that there should be a certain degree of cleanliness when dealing with food. read more

Still one of my favorite places to go after 20 years+ years (used to be the French Connection), but I think the quality of food has slipped a bit. Lunch entrees are much better than breakfast. I was in town August 6 - 13 and was lucky enough for my new friend and AMAZING REALTOR (Dean Stokes) to take me to lunch at this amazing place! The Mahi Mahi Sandwich was to die for!!!! My mouth is STILL watering over how fresh and good it was! Cathy and the other ladies there are also a huge treat! I would HIGHLY suggest stopping in at this place whenever you can! This is a great very friendly and casual "beach" restaurant. Has small indoor dining and larger outside deck dining. Sandwiches and wraps are the theme, and very good breakfast in the morning. I particularly enjoy the grouper wrap, the crab wrap and the crunchy grouper sandwich, but all in family enjoy all things tried to date. $1 draft beers and wine all day long - nice! Location is on the A1A side of the small strip that includes the popular Reef Grill (right next door). Also, get one of the $1 homemade gooey brownies to take with you. This is a tough one and here's why. We had the best fish tacos I've ever eaten at this place and I've eaten quite a few fish tacos over the years. I just couldn't get over the dirty appearance of the restaurant. We sat inside and were constantly buzzed by flies and I seriously considered walking out. The place-mats and just about everything else had a dirty appearance. I wouldn't go back because of the gross out factor but if you're brave, go for it and have the best fish tacos of your life. The wife and I were really hoping for the best for this place and what a let down. The waitress smelled of cigarettes. My wife order the "homemade" mac n cheese and it was microwavable at best and very watery. Nothing gourmet about the food. Not sure if it's because we came during off season. Breakfast was spectacular! The crab eggs benedict were the special & they were heavenly. The hollaindaise sauce was unique. The hubby ordered the blueberry pancakes...they were huge and succulent. You know what I hate about reading reviews that say a place is friendly? When you arrive and the wait staff is "having a bad day" or "not at the top of their game". We were dissapointed. Great Local's hidden secret. Very good for the price. Very comfortable setting and not far from the beach. Casual dining. We have done breakfast and lunch multiple times. Everyone (Tourists/Snowbirds) ask where is it (locals already know)? Well it is right around the corner from Captain Charlies which I am not impressed with. I stopped in for lunch, sat on the porch, not a bad set up. Now, you have to realize where you are, a local diner that serves reasonable priced food. It's not fancy, it's not a tourist joint, it's a nice spot with good food. I went with the rueben. It was tasty, nice tender meat, perfectly toasted rye. I really enjoyed it. Had a beer and fries. I left happy, that's all ya want. The wait staff were pleasant, attentive, and there wasn't any wait for service. In fact if they had a yelp review for customers I might take a hit, couldn't decide on fare, but at the third check on us, my hand was forced. Should it go both ways? My guess is the customers would be 2 stars on average, the invasion of impatient people has started. read more

This place is know for smoking fish( blackened fish) but other items are also up to the mark... we had a team lunch here sitting in lobby and flies and lizards are all around and was little scared to have food but the service is quick and don't expect spiciness only if you include sriracha sauce and onion rings tasted odd read more

First time here and I enjoyed it! It has a Hollywood beach type feel. Cute little place with great staff and service. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and it was delicious. They have water misters outside and the restroom was clean. :) no complaints here! if I am ever in the area again, I would like to stop by and try other menu items. read more

We live close and with many good restaurants choices nearby this is our neighborhood go to spot. We eat here every week and a few times some weeks. Take out is easy. I have eaten here before and enjoyed it. This time the food was good, probably three to four stars. I had fish and chips--3 stars..my wife had a grilled fish sandwich, which she said was very good...give it 4. However, it was a fairly busy time with most of the tables taken (but not all). The wait time for our food was over 40 minutes. Completely unacceptable. It was not that we were served out of order, others had the same wait. They simply were not able to handle a normal lunch crowd for some reason. The servers said nothing, no "sorry it has taken so long". I just don't accept that level of service. read more

Stopped in for lunch today and we really enjoyed it. We started off with a basket of fried pickle spears which were a nice change from the chips that most places offer. They were excellent and I recommended them to another couple in the restaurant that asked about them, and they agreed. My lady had a grilled chicken sandwich with added bacon and cheese which she proclaimed excellent. I had a wrap with grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, onion, brie, and apricot aioli which was really tasty and seemed very fresh. The service was friendly and quick. Every year I go th juno beach for vacation and always go to Cathy's. The atmosphere is beach casual and the service is excellent. You have to try the grouper wrap and a cold beer on tap (for two dollars a craft local beer). Breakfast is huge and the crab eggs Benedict is fantastic. Get an order to go and have a nice beach lunch only minutes away. read more

I would give this place no stars but it wouldn't let me. Where do I begin... Tried this place for the first time after hearing how good the food is. What people didn't tell us was that it is the worst service in the area. The waitress had zero personality. Almost like it was just too hard to smile. Doesn't help us at all with the menu or specials. Once I order, making it a point to say I can't eat spicy food/sauces, you load my sandwich with jalapeños (which the menu did not say it had. It said "homemade slaw")!! If I say don't put spicy sauce on it because I can't eat spicy food..I would assume you would then tell me "oh the slaw comes with jalapeños, would you like me to leave that off as well?" Nope. Covered my sandwich in it. Then she sees me scrapping everything off..never says anything. I have to STOP her to get her attention to ask for lettuce and tomatoe..(because she obviously never came back to check on our table) says fine but with a "you're bothering me" attitude. Now my mouth is burning, I'm out of water, I'm starring at her trying to get her attention..she walks the other way. I never get a refill on water. She drops off the check..says thanks..and walks away. "Have a good day" would be nice. Food isn't worth the bad service. 2 sandwiches and my bill was $30. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area with good fish sandwiches and much better service. Really disappointed in this place. read more

Gave it one star because I couldn't go lower. Awful place ignore the reviews. Waitress was rude and terrible. No silverware. Bad attitude. Never got a refill. Didn't acknolege our kids. Was too busy on her phone to do her job. Food was crap. Bubba burgers and frozen fish. Place is sticky and disgusting. Use to be great when it was the French connection, however now it's just a sitting health code violation. read more

Breakfast suffices served with an attitude. We should have listened to our friends who said don't bother to go. FYI, English muffin is $1.85 extra and tomato to substitute for potatoes is $2.50 extra. Read menu fine print or you will find out at checkout time and management says your problem. The bread that my sandwich was on was wet. The place is very dirty. The floor, the windows, the ceiling tiles stained and a/c vents filthy. I don't understand that that just don't give it a good scrubbing. A great location and nice staff. But I will never go back. read more

Awful walked out after wait 30 mins for a server to take our order

We sat down and the waitress brought over salt and pepper shakers - I was grossed out by the layer of dusty grease sitting on top of each one. The chairs were covered with oil cloth table cloths (think picnic table cloths), cute idea but all of them were torn and some were peeled back. It was late at night and I guess close to closing and one of the kitchen hands came out and picked up the rug that was just outside the kitchen window and proceeded to shake it. We ordered the fish and chips - nothing special that would make me go there for it. I couldn't help but wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen every time I bit into my food. The people were nice, but I can't go back, it was too disgusting. I have no idea how they pass inspections. Blech! read more

Never coming here again!!! The service is absolutely horrible. The waitress was so rude this was literally the worst service I've ever had and I work in the restaurant business. I'm NEVER one to complain. I understand everyone has bad days but this was just unbearable. Came in with my husband and our little girl. We were never greeted by our waitress and waited for about 7-10 minutes to get a menu. The food took 50 minutes for a dolphin wrap and chicken quesadilla. We were there for a total of 2 hours! She never checked on us not one time! A different waitress gave us our bill and checked us out at the counter. What really made me upset was the constant eye rolling from our waitress from behind the counter at us. I honestly think she didn't like waiting on kids? I'm not sure but please PLEASE save yourself and never go here! I will say the food was great but not worth it to wait an hour with a child. read more
