Tried Old Dixie Cafe for my birthday breakfast and was NOT disappointed at all! My meat lovers omelet was huge, delicious and filling and the home fries were the best. My husband and son devoured their loaded Dixie breakfast burritos and the super friendly server brought me a side of the amazing sausage gravy when I mentioned how good it was on the boys' burritos! Spur of the moment Google search while at the beach got me to Old Dixie Cafe. We wanted a good breakfast and we got it! Everyone was so mice and pleasant in the restaurant, and you can tell it's where the locals go. I got a garbage omelet with grits, the gubbie got blueberry pancakes with over easy eggs and bacon. We got a half order of biscuits and gravy to share. Oh my the biscuits and gravy were so good! The pancakes had fresh blueberries and cooked just right. I love the omelet appeared ro.be just eggs without milk added. Everything was delicious and rhe service fantastic. Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but we were practically dying of a hangover so we popped in. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I got the breakfast sandwich, hubby got the chorizo & eggs, friends had the ham & cheese burrito with bacon... there are no words. A classic breakfast done right. This little Jen off the beaten path is a friendly, clean, quick little place to get great diner food. The owner Antonio is on site, Moses his son is behind the counter and they are running a great little joint. Now the food, me an my crew has 5 different breakfast dishes from eggs to grits and all was delicious. The burgers are great. Skip Culver's and the like as these guys are bigger, better and fresher. First off.... Thank you thank you for serving REAL cream! Good coffee! Yay!! Hubs ordered lunch Sloppy Joe and potato salad. He was happier than a living Turkey the day after thanksgiving! Right up his ally, it reminded him of the ones his mom made for him and his coach. I ordered breakfast. I had the garbage burrito. Well let me say it was definitely not garbage but delicious breakfast wrapped up in a yummy tortilla! The best part of the entire meal???? Their homemade hot sauce. Excellent breakfast here with real truckstop type food. A clean joint confirmed the morning we arrived as we were hit with a strong odor of bleach. I'm all for cleaning but really would hold off to the afternoon considering the place closes at 2PM. A longtime resident of Jupiter that recommended this place advised he thought there was a somewhat recent ownership change here. We enjoyed breakfast; I went with a southern breakfast of eggs and country fried steak with gravy. Of course more "normal" breakfast fare is available and all looked good. Hash browns are a disappointment here as seems to be the case everywhere in this town. If you can find this place (a bit of a challenge if you don't know where to look) obviously the floor is clean (clorox stench) but the place is a real "greasy spoon" in the best sense of the word. Lots of very good medium priced places in Jupiter and we'll return although not too often. read more

My assumption is that most of the food is precooked then reheated. Personally I expect to wait at least 10 minutes for bacon and hash browns...$23 for two people isn't horrible but I think it's too much for the quality of food and service. read more

My husbands omelet was tiny, the biscuits (with gravy) were super hard & probably had been cooked hours before & my eggs were not cooked at all how I asked for them. I went to the Dixie on a recommendation from a native of the area. I liked the look and smell when I walked in....a classic diner/greasy spoon. Nothing negative about that to me. The wait staff was attentive and pleasant. The breakfast (I've been twice for breakfast only) was served quickly and the meal was as expected. I gave it 2 stars because a solid breakfast place should have solid fried potatoes. These had the proper texture and look but both times (it's precisely why I went back to see if it was me) the hash browns had a weird aftertaste. I don't know if it's the oil/grease they use to cook the things or maybe it was the ketchup. I'm leaning towards that....but the taste in my mouth was off. I liked the place's feel and the staff but I need my hash browns with breakfast and this could be a deal-breaker. read more

Do not eat here if you are concerned about your health! Staff is very friendly. Owner is very cheap and very rude. Old dixie is a very Dirty diner. It's very unclean and unsanitary. None of the food is fresh. All meat is precooked and then microwaved. Bread is frozen. There are a lot more better options then this hole in the wall. read more

Had breakfast today and we were very happy. It was our first time eating there and the food was great but more impressive was the friendly staff. The positive vibes they give off are unlike any other restaurant I have been to and I left feeling happy. They new everyone by name and and laughed and joked with everyone. Pros: fast service, friendly staff, local vibe. Went here for breakfast. Got the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. I took the bacon off of the sandwich because it was so undercooked. It was terrible. My husband's bacon was too. The "hash browns" are also questionable, even when asked for crispy, they came out soft & slightly undercooked. Pancake was good & so were the biscuits and gravy. During a morning break the crew and I ran over to Old Dixie just for a coffee but ended up eating in. We arrived hungry and weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is very much a small town - down home - southern restaurant. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The breakfast menu has all the traditional early morning "get your day started" items. I ordered two eggs and hash browns with the toast and coffee, it was all cooked to perfection as requested.
