Down visiting family and had some time on our hands and decided to visit an old spot I frequently dined in the 1970's & 80's. The food is still very good and the service was excellent! The restaurant as a whole remained the same as I remember with plenty of booths, tables and counter seating. This is a traditional old Florida type breakfast place. If visiting I would put on your list to give it a try. If just moved in or been here a while and haven't had the opportunity to try, do so as it is a fun place for breakfast! read more

I came here a few times in years past and remembered a large menu and a bar with vodka and oj. This morning, however, I had a very good early morning breakfast sans alcohol. It gets crowded for breakfast, especially on weekends, so 8:30 was a smart time to arrive. The four of us were seated immediately and got our menus and drink order taken. Our friendly server announced the two specials, and I chose one. It was steak with two poached eggs over yuca -- a version of eggs Benedict, only instead of Hollandaise it came with a verde sauce. We did not have to wait too long for our food. My sister in law was happy with her vegetable omelet and home fries (the home fries are cut as fat rectangles, as opposed to small chunks of potato). My brother loved his country breakfast hash, recommended by our server when he asked her opinion. It's two fried eggs, brisket hash, apples and chilis in a cast iron skillet. He said he enjoyed it more than he thought he would, and the apples added a great touch. Mine was very good. I requested the steak medium rare. The yuca I ignored as it didn't do it for me, but with home fries and rye toast I didn't need it. We left full and content. I drove half an hour from West Palm, but if I lived closer I'd definitely have a breakfast there once a month or so. read more

While in town, I have been searching for good / different breakfast spots so decided to take a 30 min drive down south to check out the Lighthouse Diner. Diner? Was not honestly thinking diner food but I cannot believe the luck I found by stopping in and giving it a try based solely on other people's reviews. Situated across from Jupiter Island Colony south, at base of inlet and here you have the Lighthouse Diner. Walked in, a little busy and for good reason, sat at the bar and met my newest friend Kevin the bartender. NY grit and charisma, an awesome bartender / personality, I ordered their Bloody Mary (had to start the day off right of course)....I was on "cation"...met a lot of locals, non stop clientele. Extensive menu, friendly staff, cool old school diner feel, amazing food. I ordered the FGT Benedict, well, truly amazing. Two poached eggs over a green fried tomato topped with fresh arugula, bacon, and red pepper chow chow (pickled red pepper, not hot) with fresh fruit bowl. On my second Bloody Mary, I also ordered my usual coffee black and their insanely fresh squeezed orange juice. It was truly a culinary experience and cannot wait to go back. The Lighthouse Diner is a Jupiter landmark. Located on U.S. 1 and Beach Road across from the Jupiter Lighthouse, the Jupiter Diner opened in the early 1950's. It has been a popul.ar community gathering place and it had a long run of making memories until it closed in 2009. Thankfully the Jupiter Lighthouse was saved when it was purchased by three brothers from Queens, Ryan, Rich and Kevin Perez. At first they planned on leasing the building out. When they learned how much the Lighthouse Diner meant to Jupiter, the brothers with restaurant experience in NY decided to reopen the old diner in 2014. Their goal was to retain the nautical spirit of the previous diner while giving it an update. The original booths were reupholstered in grey with white stripes while the U-shaped counter was given more stools. Historical black-and-white photos of Jupiter are on the walls along with vintage TV show and movie posters. There are even picnic tables on the patio. The result is a refreshed diner with a retro feel. I stopped in for lunch but the Lighthouse Diner offers an all day breakfast. The menu features eggs benedict, breakfast specialties, omelettes, salads, sliders, melts, sausages, sandwiches, burgers, home cooked meals, sides, homemade pies, shakes, cocktails, craft brews, and fresh squeezed juice. They have $10 daily dine specials and they do catering. For lunch I ordered a classic BLT. Crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes and toasted bread is the ultimate comfort food. My sandwich was served was some excellent steak fries. Service was great and so was the food. I love the classic American diner vibe here. We came here with a few friends for brunch. The place has an old school diner vibe and it is pretty big inside with ample seating. Our server was quick and very nice. I had a mimosa which was strong and make with fresh squeezed OJ. Yum! I had a shrimp po boy which was delicious. Wish they hadn't ran out of hoagies. Went around 8:30 a.m. got the breakfast special with a drink $11 everything was wonderful sat at the bar Doreen took care of me who was very pleasant. After being at the ripper places in Jupiter I highly recommend going up a few miles cross over the bridge on US1 it's on the left if you go right you're going to Jupiter Island. Unfortunately, our experience at the Lighthouse Diner was pretty disappointing. The food just didn't meet expectations across the board. The corned beef hash wasn't traditional at all--it had a strong taste of what seemed like parsley or another green herb, which really overpowered the dish. The grits were watery, the biscuits were dense and seemed stale, and the gravy had no flavor whatsoever. My sister-in-law ordered the Eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes and crab cakes, but the crab cakes tasted more like tuna, and everything was noticeably under-seasoned. It's a shame because the service was absolutely lovely--our server was kind, attentive, and really the highlight of the visit. Even the Arnold Palmer was great! Unfortunately, great service couldn't make up for how lackluster the food was. read more

Decided to go to this diner with my family before seeing a play at the Maltz Theater. It was close to the theater, so that made it a perfect choice. The place was really busy at lunchtime on the weekend, but they still got us a table pretty fast. The staff was friendly and outgoing. Our waitress was really nice, and had a good knowledge of the menu. The fried green tomatoes seemed to be a house specialty, so I decided to order the burger with the fried green tomato and a side of sweet potato fries (you could sub out the regular fries for sweet potato fries or tater tots for a small extra charge). My family got the fried tomato omelette and the steak sandwich. I wish we had gotten the fried green tomatoes appetizer, because the one on my burger was delicious! All the food came out pretty fast, and tasted great. The waitress was very attentive. The place had a "locals," feel that gave a very inviting atmosphere. The customers seemed to be happy, and enjoying their food. There were so many delicious items on the menu. I can't wait to come back to try some other items - though it will be a tough decision, because I would also be very happy to get my burger again. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

To start with they need to fix their seating -- very uncomfortable. We were on the road and decided to try this place which we passed on our travels for many years. After looking at the menu, I decided to order what my husband did -- grandmas meat loaf. Yuck. It wasn't very good, very dry and the serve it with a thick salty gravy. Thankfully I had the gravy on the side which they forgot and brought out later. The meatloaf was thick like a brick -- my sides were cole slaw and roasted root vegetables. I must say the root vegetables were excellent. The cole slaw was just cabbage mixed with a lot of miracle whip. We took home the meatloaf which we throw out the next morning. My husband agreed on the meatloaf and had cole slaw and mashed potatoes. He commented on how the potatoes were good and real. If I ever go back which I really doubt I know I would order only the root vegetables and maybe a side salad but not sure how that would come out. Not good only gave it a two because the vegetables were excellent. If they was grandmas meat loaf I am very thankful she wasn't my grandmother. read more

The atmosphere is pretty straight forward classic diner feel which I liked. The prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. Our waitress was very attentive. She was quick but never felt rushed and she was right on top with coffee refills. Ordered the Country Roads Benedict with American cheese on top. The eggs were perfect and the sausage gravy was in my opinion flavorful. The home fries were one of the best I have had in Florida. The shrimp and grits was very good. Shrimp was seasoned well and cooked right. There was just the right amount of spice and the grits were flavored well. The corned beef hash tasted great. What a fantastic, local place for breakfast and lunch. The Lighthouse has a friendly and casual atmosphere and a super fresh, delicious food. It was a bit hard to find from our direction since the signage was bad but from the other way it was easy to see from the road. We were warmly greeted by every single employee we met. The staff was not only attentive but anticipated our every need (like bringing jam to the table to go with the toast that comes with the omelette). They were generous with the coffee and tea refills. The fried green tomatoes were especially great. I had some on my omelette and my friend had some on a burger. Everything was wonderful. I wish it wasn't so far from where I live. Coming here was completely unintentional. Came up from WPB to hit one of my favorites...but they were closed for vacation. Wandered a bit north and found this total gem! Food is legit! All homemade! It has all of the diner favorites but then you throw in a Mexican flair to many of the dishes. If you come I would highly suggest sitting at the counter, where (hopefully) Pedro will not only provide great service but pour a mean drink. That's right it's a diner with a full bar! This was one of our favorite places for breakfast, But due to economics and health haven't been there in at least year , We loved the extra crisp grilled potatoes , the large plump sausages ,large pieces of extra thick crisp bacon fresh eggs, French toast .Today 12/13/025 arrived with almost no customers , Ordered scrambled eggs well done bacon ,grill potatoes for wife I ordered eggs over easy , French toast grill potatoes and asked waitress to make sure the Chef left the potatoes on the grill a little longer We got large cut boiled potatoes about 1/2 thick 2 .5 long , also asked for pepper and onions . pancake . I complained to the waitress about the pancake but said I would accept it. but we both wanted extra crisp grill potatoes. While waiting for replacement , while the pancake tasted good it was hard to cut with normal table knife, The potatoes that arrived were cooked in hot grease like French frys .I tired one piece of each potatoes . but left entire order untouched . The sausages looked more like a Jimmy Dean thin over done sausages , It's a shame the quality of food that restaurants can buy has gone down hill . while trying to hold down prices , Most unfortunately we won't be back read more

I had heard about the "Lighthouse Diner" just didn't realize that was it! My husband and I went on a Sunday morning and waited just a few minutes for a table. This place has got a very old school diner feel and seems to always be fairly busy - always a good sign for a restaurant. I've eaten here a few times, but it had been years since I was there last. Stopped for breakfast on a Saturday and was seated promptly in a comfortable booth. They've got a fairly extensive menu and tons of breakfast options from gigantic pancakes, to French toast, to Benedict's and omelettes. Anyone should be able to find something to eat here. The service left something to be desired however. Our server was hurried and never brought my coffee (I wasn't charged for it either though) and kind of dropped the bill and bolted off at the end of our meal. As far as the food goes, our meals were average I think. The corned beef hash was clearly not from a can and was clearly made on site, which was a nice surprise. Sadly, the accompanying grits were not only stone ground, but stone cold. The stuffed French toast got a thumbs up from my son, but comes without any sides (not an issue for him). I think there are better options for breakfast locally, but this hits the mark if you really want the diner ambiance. read more
