This was our families third visit to Cascade Grill. For the third time either a chicken or pork dish was very undercooked. This time it was a pork kabob with blood running out of the pork chunks. I brought this to there attention and the best they could do was microwave the meat. They took the meal off the bill, and that was the extent of there service to make our bias better. I was staying in the area for work and stopped here for dinner with a large group. They got us seated quickly and the staff was great. The menu is good sized with a nice variety of items to choose from. They also had some very good drink choices. The food came out quickly and they were generous portions. I had the country fried steak and it was tasty. Overall, while it wasn't spectacular it was definitely good and I would stop here again. read more

I've read many reviews on living in Oregon, outside of Portland, that seems to focus on a lack of professionalism and customer service in the surrounding Oregon areas...and being from California, I have to honestly agree. There seems to be a slowness in establishments that doesn't come off with an island slowness feel...but, a "slow" feel. ha I have to give major thumbs up for this restaurant though...because they have by far the best customer service and professionalism, that we've experienced in the lovely state of Oregon since we've been here (June) and we eat out frequently. Jordan, our waiter was an absolute delight and made our experience there wonderful. He went above and beyond to the highest degree! So much so that he's the only one we've left a $30 tip for, on a $65 bill. Thank you Jordan and Cascade Grill for giving us hope ha. Went to Cascade Grill to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Order prime rib stroganoff. Ate about one third of it and bit down on a bone. Lost my appetite and did not eat any more of it. The one of us that eats steak, says the prime rib is good. I had the cod, which was good, but wish they had cooking type choices. I would prefer grilled not breaded. They also didn't have a healthy/lite soup. The salad was better than just a plain dinner salad. The waitress didn't quite know how to make a strawberry lemonade, but offered and brought extra berries to make it better. The coconut prawn appetizers (5) were huge, and yummy. The Apple crisp and caramel dulce cheese cake were both very good. A bit too expensive to do to often, but once in a while is ok. read more

Very good food. I have been here several times and My food is always great. I am worried about the future of this resturant because of the wait staff. They are very slow and not friendly at all. The place is never busy when I am there, yet they have so many employees running around acting like they do not know what there job is. Is it really necessary for one person to sit you, one to take your order, another to bring you drinks, another for your food, yet someone else to bring your check? The food and bar menu look good but service was lacking. Drinks were a wait...they did not have a bartender but even a wait for water? Salads were prompt and tasty. Main course..... hubby liked his chicken stir fry okay. Our friend had the stuffed mushrooms that seemed to come from Costco with melted Velveeta cheese as a gloppy topping. I had the Cajun shrimp salad. Overcooked shrimp that was tough and burned on one side....not blackened but burnt. Slow service. Hubby asked for coffee. After 15 minutes our friend walked to the kitchen to ask they cancel the coffee and bring the bill. Very disappointed but this place caters to the hotels next to it. Ah well... read more

Went in on Father's Day with a group of six, the waitress greeted us immediately with waters and kept us fed with bread until the rest of our group arrived. The food was delicious and even though they seemed to be very busy, it came out in a reasonable time. We were all very happy with our meal and will definitely be returning soon. read more

I have been here several times and received excellent service and had excellent food. Unfortunately tonight was not one of those days. It was pretty dead due to the snow and ice, however they did have a party of some sort happening in one of the rooms which was their priority over us. I went there with my husband and infant son. My husband ordered a cheeseburger and fries and I ordered a salad and club sandwich and fries. My food was cold along with my husband's. We received new fries when complained to the waitress about our food. But the fries tasted like they'd been freezer burned or something. She gave us our bill promptly but did not return for at least 10 to 15 minutes after we were done and ready to go. We had to fly down another person to take a pill which was invented to them about our unsatisfactory food and service. They gave us a $5 gift card which we left there because we don't plan on going back. Our waitress got no tip. Do not go there if they have a large party and certainly do not go there if you want a good cheeseburger or club house because you will get cold food. read more

Terrible. I was at Cascade Grill and I had ordered a bacon cheeseburger and when I had received it I thought nothing of it and began to eat it. I was wrong. The meat was pink. It was uncooked and rare. I did not appreciate this. I tried to fight through it but it tasted awful. DO NOT order burgers from Cascade Grill. Definitely will never return. read more

We stopped at this restaurant while driving down I-5. It is located just off the freeway, so it was convenient. The dining room was nice enough, but had little charm. Which was pretty much the same thing that we thought about the food. Nothing exciting, but everything was at least edible. Service was satisfactory. Well, I'm no horse show judge, but my husband and I have eaten in at the Cascade Grill a number of times during our extended stay here in Albany, and we have NEVER experienced the negative environment described by Walter d.. We have eaten in both the restaurant and the lounge and found both food and service to be more than satisfactory. The tomato soup on the Tuesdays is outstanding, as is the vegetable beef. On one visit, my husband ordered the NY steak and it was one of the tastiest he'd had in a long time. The mac and cheese is creamy and delicious. This is upscale, casual family dining, not cutting edge gourmet, to which Walter must be accustomed. Tasty, well prepared food served by efficient, attentive staff. My wife and I had reservations for Thanksgiving day, but unfortunately the person who took the reservation 2 weeks ago didn't know that they were closing at 3pm. Our reservation time was for 4pm, but when we got there they were just closing. I talked with the manager Sonia and she was very understanding and truly felt bad for the confusion. She offered to make us two free to-go dinners. While we were waiting we could clearly hear that the kitchen was cleaning up, but they all worked very hard to put together a wonderful dinner for us and saved our Thanksgiving meal plans. Everyone from cooks to staff were just fantastic! We have always loved the Cascade Bar & Grill, but this just made us raving fans! They staff is always extremely helpful and have proven to us that it are more than just a great place to eat. They truly care about their customers! You don't see that level of customer service very often any more. My wife and I are truly grateful for their kindness. read more

For those of you who are wondering, they do offer WI-FI even though the site say's it doesn't. If you receive food that is not up to your standards, send it back! I have never had to do that but if you feel you must, then you must. As far as the servers or managers attitudes, ask to speak with the owner of the restaurant, she is always there to help in any way she can (except Sundays). Very disappointing. Never had beer given to me to open myself and also not offered a glass. The cook obviously doesn't know the difference between aldente and almost raw not to mention cold. The salmon had been in the oven do long it was tough on the outside and didn't even have s lemon much less any sauce. The best part of the meal was the sweet potato and bread. We won't be back. I am extremely disappointed in the service once again.... My Hospital staff and I use to dine at the Cascade Grill frequently however, WE WILL NEVER COME BACK AGAIN! Not to mention this place use to my family's first pick, out of all the restaurants from Corvallis, we would choose the Cascade Grill. For starters my staff and I would come after work or during lunch for a quick bite! Not so quick anymore. The service during lunch is horrible. It appears to us that the "Lady" Bartender would rather smoke than serve us. Many times we see her smoking as we approach the lounge. When your waitress smells of strong cigarette smoke its extremely un-professional and un appealing. Let me add that her uniform is always dirty and she has quite the attitude!!!!!. It's also a let down to see the owner/manager sitting at a booth eating and being served while we are still waiting for our meals and re-fills. Almost every time we come to dine (which was several times a month at one point once a week) The staff huddles around a booth with what appears to be the owner (an older woman) joking around and talking loudly. We often considered complaining however, what's the point when the owner or manager contributes this behavior. There has been rare occasions when we have been served by several different gentlemen in the lounge and our dinning experience was wonderful! As well as another female server sadly I think she no longer works there because she had a baby. If you do come in late night there usually is a very pleasant male bartender whom is very kind and professional, We have complimented him many times! My family and I have also dinned in the dinning room many times. In the past year the service has just became horrible. I even recall asking for the "manager" once, another fellow waitress approached our table. I guess the Manager is a waitress. She was very nice at first, I believe her name was Spring or Sunny?? It was a few months ago so I can't remember her name correctly. We even asked her if she was a waitress or the Manager. She explained that she is both and not by choice. She mentioned that they were short staffed and that's why we waited five minutes for a waitress to take our order. We then told her that we could hear staff members laugh in the kitchen area. A good friend of mine called me a few days ago and complained to me about the Cascade grill and her experience and stated that she was very disappointed. Sadly I recommended this place to her a while back when the service was good. It was very embarrassing to me. Hopefully the owner reads this and makes some changes! The wife and I had a great meal here! We sharing the cascade nachos and on another visit we had the best ribeye with a sweet potato for our side dish. The portions are big and make it worth the price. The bathrooms are very clean too! We have recently just started coming back here and it is a totally 180 from what it used to be! I ate there last night, & it will definitely be the last time I go there. There were quite a few open tables, even for a Saturday night at 6. I initially ordered a glass of wine, it was pretty cheap tasting. I told my waiter, Daniel, that I would like the prime rib, but only if they could deliver it very rare, if not, I'd order something else. I barely had one sip out of the wine that I was trying to enjoy, when he brought out the salad, & the bread basket with one tiny, cold hard roll, that I couldn't even bite into. He never brought me my water. I just got started on my salad, when he brought the prime rib dinner out & said is this rare enough? I told him that kid of rare would do, so he slams the plate on the table & takes off. By the time I finished the salad, he comes by & asks if I'm done. I told him that I can't eat the cold meal that had been sitting on my table for 10 min, he grabbed it, & you could hear him throw the whole plate in the trash. He was very rude & arrogant. He got another waitress to bring out another plate, & I told her I ordered it rare. The one she brought was very over cooked. She, too, was very rude, & said that's all there is, do you want your check? When she finally showed up again, she charged me for the wine, which was ok, but then charged me for the dinner salad which I never received the dinner. I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. I would never recommend this place, as the food is just so so, & very overpriced for what it is. Travel on to Salem or Eugene. read more

We went to try this place for the first time. Drinks good. Appetizer was crab stuffed mushrooms, great. Then we get our salad and cup of soup for me. Salad ok, soup good. So far so good. Then we get our entrees. At first look, they looked wonderful. Prime rib looked good but quality was tough and could not chew it. And that was the tender outside part! Totally unchewable. My parmesan crusted cod, the whole 6 oz. piece for $18.00, was, yes you guessed it, unchewable. I have NEVER had cod in any restaurant I couldn't chew. It was previously frozen for must have been at least a year? I asked them why for that price are they not serving fresh cod. They said they only use frozen. For that price? Really? So needless to say we didn't eat our entrees except the shrimp my husband added to the prime rib for $7.50. After arguing with assistant managers twice, we still had to pay $18.00 for the $44.00 entrees. And thats not counting the $24.00 we paid for the appetizer and 2 drinks. Rip off! We should have gone to Outback! Would have been cheaper and 10x better. read more

Called ahead to make sure they were serving prime rib and was told, "Yes". This was a Saturday night. After going there to eat and enjoy, we were told there was no prime rib. When I related to the server the conversation I had with the person answering the phone 1/2 hour earlier, I was told, "The chef is holding it back because someone in the larger party may want to order it". I then asked if they had the T Bone steak, which was listed on the menu. Again, I was told the same thing!! My dinner partner is highly allergic to any form of onion, so was definite when telling the server her dinner could not come in contact with any onions. By now you can guess what happened! Yep, her dinner was served with onions!! She had to send it back while I was eating my third choice of steak, which was filet mignon. The manager did finally get involved and did not charge either of us for our meals. Do not believe what you are told if you call, obviously! Oh, the manager did state that the chef had stopped holding back prime rib just prior to my ordering it and did not tell the server, nor did the server ask the chef if it was still being held back. Do not give this place your business. It has mediocre food, exorbitant prices, and non-existent service. Based on the positive(?)reviews, my wife and I went there expecting to have a pleasant dining experience. We sat in the bar and waited for service. Even though there were only two other booths full, and no one was at the bar when we came in, it took Sunny 18 minutes to take our order. We overheard a conversation that she had with another employee that she was unhappy about working on a Sunday, and her lack of service showed it. I could overlook the disgraceful service if it weren't for the fact that the mediocre food coupled with the exorbitant prices made this an altogether unpleasant experience. My wife and I believe that the quality of the "comfort foods" that are offered at a destination give a good representation of the overall quality of the menu. Therefore, I had the "country-fried steak," and my wife had the "roast turkey dinner." The country-fried steak was tender but tasteless and had approximately 2 tablespoon of country gravy on it. The garlic mashed potatoes were pasty and dry, and the steamed carrots were completely tasteless. I don't know how they managed to do it, but the carrots didn't even taste like carrots. My wife's turkey dinner was so dry that I'm sure it must have been sitting out in the open air all day. She had the same opinion of the garlic mashed potatoes and the steamed carrots. I had considered having the prime rib, but if the dishes that we chose were representative of the overall quality, then I'm sure that it doesn't deserve a price range of $19.99 - $28.99. This was disgraceful. Even though we live within easy driving distance, we won't be coming back, and if anyone asks me about the Cascade Grill, I will surely let them know about our experience.
