Great place, some unique dishes, and awesome drinks! We got the Conchita Pibil, mango margarita, Tamarind Daiquiri, vegetarian burrito. The Conchita was delicious, drinks were great, a bit light on alcohol which was good for lunch, and burrito was good, not great. My boyfriend and I came here to try the vegan portion of their menu. Everything we got was fantastic! Our server Neri was so helpful and attentive. He helped us order a vegan pina colada (just get it without the carnation condensed milk). For our meal we tried the aubergine cake and the tacos. This is a pretty good restaurant choice if you are in that immediate area of Cancun. They have a great tequila selection! Good service and decent food. My only complaint is that they served with my quesadilla some sort of bagged fake guacamole. Other than that I thought it was very good. For the area that is. This is a great venue for food and drinks. It has a lot of outdoor seating as well as indoors. There are list of vegetarian options and well as all the classics. My wife had the veggie burrito, I had cheese enchiladas and they were both wonderful. Our friends had the fajitas and their version of meatloaf and they loved them as well. Great food, great service and a great Mexican experience! From the fish tacos, shrimp tacos, pumpkin crepes, the carpaccio.....EVERYTHING was yummy!! Service was swift and courteous and the ambience is so quaint and the prices VERY gentle on the pocket book. The fish was very fresh and clearly all dishes were made with fresh ingredients. Food was amazing!! Had some of the seafood dinners (salmon and mahi mahi) which were both delicious. Had a few margaritas, which were also amazing. A LOT of alcohol in them, and really high quality stuff too, not the cheap Cuervo Gold or anything. I really wish I could give a positive review of the service, though, but the waiter was an ass. He never smiled, not even once. Then after bringing our drink orders he disappeared for a while. We had to flag down another waiter to get him back out. Then he took our food order (no smile again) and we ate our chips and stuff until the food came. After the food came, he NEVER came to check on us again. We saw him helping other tables, and even made eye contact with him to get his attention, but he walked away. Again we had to flag down another waiter to get our check. Then he comes out with the check after a few more minutes, and he HAS THE BALLS to suggest a 20% tip!! (They have the portable card readers where you enter the tip directly, not written on the receipt) I told him to charge 10% for tip (which was probably too high) and he kept pushing me to give 20. Are you kidding?! I settled on 15% and he didn't look thrilled. I'll give him a tip, do your damn job and if you are miserable, go find work elsewhere. read more

Love this place! Very authentic Mexican food and great service! Also loved the mariachi band that came out. Ceviche 9/10 Tortilla soup 10/10! Very creamy and delicious. They pour the broth into your bowl which I thought was pretty neat. My boyfriend had the suiza enchilada verdes and he loved them. 10/10. Amazing flavor!! Cold food, service is really slow. They need to hire other waiters.... and the food...the food....is so plain. I was so disappointed, it was the worst tacos ever!! (Look at pics) also it's pretty expensive for Mexico standards.. and all you get is the tortilla and meat...no flavor what so ever. I'm pretty sure the food was cold because the waiter was over worked and our food was probably sitting there waiting to be picked up. It took him 7 mins or more after our drinks were ready for him to bring it to the table ( yes I counted) I was looking at my drinks sitting on the bar while I was dying of thirst... The ambiance was good but the food was far below average. On the cusp of nasty. When I told the waitress I didn't like my food, she said " why" with a horrible attitude. I sent two plates back and opted to just not order anything else. The tequila was good and so was the service until I said I didn't like my food.. both managers came to the table saying " everyone else in the restaurant likes their food , so ? " it was just not a good experience . I will not be back and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Also, the table next to us ordered the surf and turf and was really unimpressed. Lastly, when the bill did come, he immediately gave it to the only man at our table and completely ignored the 3 other people... Just incredibly disrespectful all around. Loved the place! It was my first time in Cancun back in December and we went twice to this place! The food is amazing!! You must try the ceviche! The drinks are very good too, I tried the Paloma and my boyfriend had a margarita! The waitress was super nice and friendly, they even gave us 2 shots of tequila the second time we went to the place! We went here 7 years ago. I ordered a sangria and realized that it was the best sangria I have ever had. After 7 years and many sangrias, it still stood as the best. I came back to test it... it is still the best I have had in my life. For dinner, get the dinner for two platter. It is so much food! For the germ conscious, you get pre packaged silverware. I loved the service and atmosphere so much the first visit, I decided to give Casa Tequila another try. GLAD I did, 4.5 stars!! I saw a few good reviews on the shrimp tacos, so I went with that... best shrimp I've had this week. Chargrilled to perfection. The guacamole was excellent, and once again, love their list of Mexican craft beers! Also the biggest and best 'looking' margarita we've seen this week, was a good one too. The black refried vegan beans are great. Once again, beautiful mariachis serenading the cozy, well decorated spot. No horns, just 3 men harmonizing with their guitars. Tania was our server once again, she did an awesome job making sure everyone at the table got exactly what they wanted and were happy. A pretty legit storm blew in halfway through dinner- but they were able to put the windows down and it provided quite a bit of protection form the wind and rain. My Dad tried the "Stuffed Cheese," looked more like slices of meatloaf in a sauce- apparently an authentic dish from the area, he said it was very tasty! So for both of us, a huge upgrade on our dishes last year. I would go again, order exactly the same, and be one happy camper! read more

Way too expensive for a plate of blandness! The salsas that they serve with baked (not fried) tortillas at the start were good. And the idea that you can get vegan food in Cancun is where the goodness ends here. This EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE restaurant ($25 USD per plate and non-alcoholic drink in Mexico) failed to deliver flavorful vegan food. Even the $12 guacamole wasn't spectacular. The meat and dairy dishes may have been OK, if also expensive. The server was irritated with a $10 tip and made it known. read more

We just stumbled on it while we were trying to find the supercenter, and it looked nice with an outside patio and good decorations. Looked a little bit like it was mainly for tourists, but the food was good.Service was rushed, food and drinks were reasonable. There was a mariachi band that performed a couple of songs during the dinner time. They have multiple hats in the middle of the outdoor patio, that you can borrow to put on and take pictures. The margarita and mojito were pretty good. The total for the dinner including drinks for 2 adults and 2 kids came to less than $60 They also have seating upstairs which you can get via a tiny steep spiral staircase. The bathroom is also upstairs and it did not work properly. Overall good value and worth at least one visit. read more

Oh so good! I got the guacamole as an appetizer and the roasted pork tacos with cheese. I got a giant modelo in a metal flag on they keep in a freezer (coldest beer I'd had in Mexico). Whatever the angels sprinkle on this roasted pork should be illegal, it's TOO good. I ate three of them, and could have eaten three more.... and this is after four days of cancun taco consumption on my 3rd trip to cancun this year. My girlfriend got the chimichanga. She said it was good, but had too much meat (I called bullshit, no such thing). Come here to eat, it's cheap, the beer is frigid, the food is fantastic, and the service is great! read more

This place had the best burrito I have ever tasted in my life. I know burritos aren't authentic Mexican food but we were in a rush to get to the airport and decided to grab something quick. The meat in my burrito was so juicy and tender. My wife ordered enchiladas and she really enjoyed them too. It was nice and quiet. Not to busy when we came in so that was nice. Had we known this place was so good and so cheap we would have came here instead of the overpriced place across the street that wasn't even half as good. We found eyelashes in our drinks. I asked for a chicken burrito and was served with steak- I am Hindu and it is against my religion to consume beef. We stopped here because most of the places on the hotel zone were either too crowded, too bro-y, or were American chains. If I wanted to have drinks at TGIFridays, I could have saved a boatload of money and stayed at home. This place was still in the crowed part of the hotel zone, but the restaurant itself was relatively quiet--I think due in part to the fact that it is right next door to a gentleman's club. The margaritas are GIANT--as big as your face. I did not stop sipping my drink except to take bites of my meal and it probably took me at least an hour to finish what was probably the equivalent to at least four cups of frozen margarita. Our food was also delicious and our water was courteous. Before this trip I have never seen stands (like a hat stand except smaller) that they place by your table so you can hang your purse without awkwardly putting it on the ground or sitting with it on your lap. This small courtesy made a big difference in how freely our flow of conversation was (or maybe it was just the grande margaritas talking). Even though this place if in the hotel zone, it is enough off the main street madness that you can still enjoy a quiet meal without being bombarded by people asking you to join the party at the overrated Coco Bongo. read more

Awful food! If you want Costco guacamole and old chicken then this is your place. Our chips were so stale when we asked for fresh chips they never came and we just gave up on getting fresh food here. We also had our waiter keep reminding us how much we should tip him, yet we still tipped him 15%. My stomachs felt terrible. read more
