Outside

Overall experience was fine. Nice outside area to sit and relax while the band plays every so often. They will also come around and ask if you want to pay them to play for you at your table. Service was nice, also spoke good english. Fajitas were good though I did not care for the tortillas. Ordered the large margarita - which is basically just a large fruit smoothie. Could not taste the alcohol and did not feel anything after drinking the whole thing.

Vegan Tamal

Casa Tequila was a wonderful experience while traveling in Cancun! My mom and I happened upon it and loved the outdoor ambiance with beautiful plant life. Our server provided recommendations and even some alterations to fit our exact tastes. Pictured is the Vegan Tamal, to which I added non-vegan queso sauce. The combination of flavors was unique and unexpected, and I enjoyed the variety of textures as well. I was a bit nervous for the incorporation of tofu cheese since tofu is not a favorite of mine, but with a firm yet malleable texture, it was a wonderful addition to the meal. Not pictured is the tequila mahi mahi which my mom ordered that had a tequila cream sauce. From the first bite, she was raving about how awesome it was! A nice blend of seafood and Mexican cuisine. Her ONLY complaint was that the rice was so good that she wanted more! So we ordered an extra side haha. For desert we had a Carmel crépe and it was wonderful and soft with a deep caramel flavor. Overall a great choice for a place to eat while in Cancun!

The service was good and it was a nice setting. Went here for vegan options and they ended up being the yuckiest part, the vegan Al pastor was not liked by anyone at the table. While I wouldn't recommend the food except for the salsas, the drinks were good. They have a free birthday shot and we payed the mariachi to sing happy birthday to our friend. Definitely would drink a lot first before eating, or skip the food entirely.

I stopped into Casa Tequila for lunch while staying nearby for work. I searched Yelp for vegan food nearby and the reviews were good so I gave it a try. I'm glad I did. I came here right when they opened for lunch and had my choice of seats. The outdoor seating is nice with most of it being covered. The decor is nice inside with some vintage pictures of Mexico. The menu has a vegan section which was why I came. Anywhere that makes vegan options other then the standard salad is worth a visit in my mind. I ordered the vegan al pastor tacos and an iced tea. The tea was great. The tacos however were really good. The "meat" of the tacos was well seasoned carrot shreds that were softened and tasted delicious. The tacos were layered well with the bottom being a caramalized pineapple, then the carrot taco meat followed by a nice sauce. The dish comes with a generous portion of white onion, cilantro, limes and two different salsas. The salsas were mild and hot, but the hot wasn't really as spicy as I would have liked. The flavors were good but just not enough heat. I didn't eat my tacos by hand as I wanted to really taste the individual components of the dish and savor the meal. I really enjoyed the vegan al pastor tacos and would highly recommend them.

. Casa Tequila was our first stop on our food tour in Cancun! We were not disappointed! Right in the hotel zone and a minute's walk from our hotel! Absolutely loved this place; the vibe, outside dining, & customer service was fantastic. We quickly realized that Cancun is super Vegan Friendly; Casa Tequila, like many, had vegan options/menus! So awesome! We got the: (Vegan) -Tacos al Pastor -Pumpkin Flower Crepes Other Vegan options available: -Enchiladas -Aubergine Cake -Fajitas -Burrito -Cheeseburger COVID NOTES ***CANCUN & area was phenomenally incredible as for Covid. We were super impressed all around on how business' provided Covid safety protocols, and masks were worn indoors and outdoors by locals!*** -Hand Sanitizer given at the door -Indoor/Outdoor dining was available. -The order was effortless, quick, & accurate. -Excellent customer service, masks were required, staff wore masks and gloves. -No issues at all. Thank you, Casa Tequila, for the vegan menu and options!

Sangria and beer

Everything was great, until it wasn't. We came here a few days ago with our spring break group. We had a large group, about 33 people, and they were able to accommodate us a two large tables. Service was great, food and drinks were good. Our only snafu was when they brought the bills. Our long table had 5 separate checks. My husband and I had 1 sangria, 2 beers, a bowl of soup and an order of fajitas. My bill came with my order, PLUS 3 more beers, 2 margaritas, 3 cokes, 2 bottles of water, a second bowl of soup and an order of chicken tacos. We told the waiter, Saul, that it wasn't correct. He got "flustered" and we figured it just got added onto our bill, but was supposed to be on someone else's. Other than the 3 cokes and 2 waters that were supposed to be on a different ticket, everyone else's bill was correct. I told the waiter to take it off our bill, and he "didn't understand". Of course, language barrier. He kept saying "it's on the bill...someone will have to pay". After like 10 minutes, I asked for the manager to fix it, because, you know, a manager should be able to override their computerized POS computer system. He came over, I told him I wasn't paying for the stuff that wasn't mine ($50 versus $130) and asked him to fix it. He comes back a few minutes later, handed me my correct bill, I paid cash, but then the manager tells the waiter, in English, well...you're going to have to pay for all the stuff that wasn't paid by me. A different person in our group says, here's an extra $100 to take care of the BS. So we left. On the way back, we were questioning why he would tell the waiter, IN ENGLISH that he had to pay...I trying believe they were just trying to scam us. But, the food and drinks were great.

I am going to keep this short and sweet. Brandon, Andrea and Tania are by far the best servers here at this place...hands down. They have a large variety of tequilas and a pretty good food menu. We came here three days in a row not just because of the staff, but the service, tequila and food. We actually miss this place now that we are once again stateside. The servers here are super nice, the food is great, and the servers are helpful suggesting tequilas that you may like. We look forward to coming back and I hope that the same servers will be there to greet us once again.

Water fountain

We ate at several restaurants during our vacation in Cancun, and I have to say hands down, this was one of my favorites! As we strolled the main street of the "Hotel Zone", we came across this nice, romantic, and colorfully decorated outdoor cafe. Mexican songs were playing in the back ground. The wait staff were friendly and polite as they sat us at a table near a fountain. (I have a thing for water features!). It was stifling hot out, but at least the patio is covered to provide shade, and the fountain sprinklings kept us a little more cool and comfortable. We started out with ice cold thirst quenching drinks. I got a large strawberry margarita and Joe K got a Jaguar Pale Ale X 2. The menu had many delicious looking choices, making deciding a bit hard, but we eventually narrowed our selections down. Joe ordered Lima Soup and Chile relleno. I had the cheese enchiladas with mole sauce. We also shared Mexican cheese dip with mushrooms and guacamole dip to go with the complimentary tortilla chips & salsa. We had a lot of food, but it was all so amazingly flavorful, that we couldn't keep ourselves from overeating! Our waiter Leonardo was very nice and understood English fairly well. At the end of our meal, he brought us complimentary tequila shots! Needless to say we were pleasantly full and buzzed! Good thing we were able to walk back to our hotel without a hitch and in a straight line! The prices here are a little higher than some of the other competing restaurants, but the service, the food, drinks, and the whole experience, were all well worth it!

Portobello fajitas
Sharina J.

I can't say Mmmmmmm enough! Seriously my portobello fajitas were top notch. They were so delicious I'm going back before we leave. The restaurant was much more expensive than most local places but worth it. It was a cute small place downtown and not too busy. How this place wasn't packed down the street I'm not sure.... guessing the cost.

Warren B.

Delicious yummy Authentic Mexican. The food here is spectacular. I happily enjoyed dinner and every course. You get the vibes of Mexico when you listen to the live mariachi band. They gave me this cool blanket cause it's cold outside. I'll definitely go back again! So happy we tired this place!

We had been walking in the area earlier that day and made a plan to come back for dinner. When we arrived there were a lot of people but we were seated immediately. Martin was our waiter and he was great. There were a few large screen TVs playing sports. There was live music. A lot was going on but it really worked. People were enjoying themselves and the wait staff was friendly and talkative. I ordered shrimp fajitas and my husband ordered the mole. He always orders mole. The meals were very good. We ordered a mango margarita and Tecate. The margarita came with a tehine rim. I just wiped it off. That is becoming so popular. I decided to indulge in the banana dessert and I am glad I did. It came with a show. That was fun and the dessert was delicious. We were there earlier in the evening and we saw many couples and families. I'm sure the place gets a little more livelier as the night goes on. If you are in the area, this is a good place to eat and enjoy your time in Cancun.

I just drank water, so cannot comment on the drinks. I had the flan for dessert, which was generous in size & ok. One of my friends had the flaming bananas & said it was so yummy! Everything is surprisingly (for Cancun) priced affordable. My enchiladas were about $12. I would happily return here! So much fun!

This nice, upscale Mexican restaurant was on Joe K's list of "must try" places while on vacation in…read moreCancun via his Yelp research. It was just a short walking distance from our hotel. We must have arrived for an early dinner, because there were no patrons when we first got there. At the entrance, a staff member escorts you in and takes you up 2 escalators to the second floor, where you are under a covered outdoor patio. We got to choose wherever we wanted to sit, so of course I wanted the best view available. Our table faced other hotels that blocked most of the ocean, but it was an OK view anyway. We were also able to watch and be somewhat entertained by the fast moving traffic coming and going along the main drag. The wait staff were polite and efficient explaining the menus and drink specials to us. They offer a selection of tropical cocktails in which you can buy one and get the second one free. We of course decided on said drinks. Which was very refreshing, tasty and served in a very generous glass. Since we had worked up an appetite, we wanted to share several different appetizers as our main course. We had the deep fried shrimp tacos, fish tacos, potato shoestring wrapped shrimp, hot cheese dip and guacamole dip. All the food was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor in every dish! I wanted to give 5 stars because our whole experience was definitely deserving! But after a few hours, I developed a severe migraine headache that got worse later that evening. I haven't had a headache that bad in a long time! And I can only suspect that maybe they used a cheap type of alcohol in my drink or possibly they used wine instead which will for sure give me a headache! I can't prove that this is what happened, but it's the only reason I can think of!

I have been to Chuchito Perez twice. The first time was with my girlfriend and we ordered…read moreappetizers and shrimp tacos and took advantage of the two for one drink special. The second time I went alone during two day taco spree because I still wanted to try the steak and bone marrow tacos. Chuchito Perez is part of a Mexican mini luxury restaurant chain with locations in Queretaro, Mexico City, Cancun and Monterey. The one in Cancun is located in a third floor palapa and shares the space with another restaurant so you can order off either menu. The first thing you notice when you reach this third floor palapa style restaurant is the view. You can force yourself to look between two hotel towers to see a sliver of beach on the ocean side or you can take in the breathtaking views of the lagoon and the nightclub area once it gets dark. The sunset over the lagoon is quite beautiful while the lights of the nightclubs below offer a bit of excitement once darkness falls. We were offered drinks from a two for one menu that seemed a bit too gimmicky and contrived for a luxury restaurant but the drinks were large and tasty even if the cheap alcohol may have contributed to girlfriend's headache. Perhaps they should skip the whole cheap drink, con artist style ritual and drop the price of their alcohol to where people might want to order from the regular menu? What they lose in markup could perhaps be gained in sales volume? Presenting a little sophistication rather than the appearance of desperation just might go a long way? We ordered three items from the appetizer menu, The Camarones Empapados (shrimp wrapped in potato strings), Queso En Salsa (melted cheese with salsa and peppers) and Guacamole made at our table. We also ordered Costras De Camaron (shrimp with pickles onions, mango & cilantro on cheese crusted corn tortillas) and Camaroncillas (fried tacos filled with shrimp) from the tacos menu. Everything was good but my favorites were the Queso En Salsa and the Costras De Camarons. Our waiter almost talked us out of ordering the Queso En Salsa by describing it as tomato soup with cheese. Believe me, it was not anything like tomato soup with cheese, the salsa was full of all kinds of amazing flavors and the nice, square chunks of cheese were of perfect size and texture and the best part of all was that it was not greasy. The mango in the Costas de Camarons really stood out and mixed perfectly with the shrimp while the cheese crusted corn tortillas and just the right amount of pickled onions and cilantro leant the perfect amount of support to really make this dish pop. The waiter telling us the suggested gratuity was equal to over 50% of the bill did not go over well with me but perhaps he just was not good at math? On my second trip I was on a mission to try as many different kinds of taco at as many places as possible in my short stay in Cancun and I really wanted to try their Arrechera Y Tuetano (flank steak and bone marrow) tacos. It seemed like such a unique dish. I wanted a shot of tequila and some sparkling water but the shot of tequila I wanted was about three times what I was paying for them elsewhere so I settled for a Modelo Negro and stopped for a shot on my way back to my hotel. The steak tacos were good on their own and adding the marrow to my first taco seemed like a waste of bone marrow so I ended up savoring small bites of marrow between bites of tacos.
