Sirloin burrito
Luke Y.

Price/quality (2/4): I ordered a sirloin burrito. While it was flavorful, there were lots of chewy bits in the meat, which shouldn't have been there. Maybe my experience would have been different if I ordered something else, but the sirloin burrito was quite lackluster. The meat should have been better. Service (1/1): Service was friendly and effective. Would I come here again: Maybe, if I go to Cancun again. I'd order something other than the sirloin burrito though.

Woow exceptional!! This taco joint is amazing , located on the strip of canacun hotel resorts next to coco bongo. Best carnas and taco al pastor we ever had !!! It was super busy so we decided to take it on the go it's the best Service absolutely incredible! They made sure we enjoyed every single bite The meat was delicious fresh and just so delicious reall authentic Mexican local joint The vibe was amazing lots of local people at this joint so you know you're getting real quality food and it right across coco bongo so it was really fun and a great vibing ambiance. Best late night spot after clubbing out Overall totally recommend it and the price is so worth it local pricing not a tourist trap LOVE THIS PLACE!! Cheers

Making new local friends at the small Taco Shop ! Best TACOS and quesadillas served here, ever.

OH M G ! Let me start with 1O/1O. I would recommend for a quick bite to eat and I will definitely be back! This may look like a whole in the wall and it is lol but this joint has the best tacos and quesilldas, ever. HANDS DOWN. I mean this is coming from someone that travels the world for work and eats out weekly around the world ( I am a flight attendant ) Anyway, the menu is small but every single bite burst with freshness and flavor - truly like any other tacos I have ever eaten. The exterior and interior don't look like much but our group of 6 all loved the food and the conversion from pesos to USD is so inexpensive. The staff was so awesome! The staff was hilarious, attentive and kind. Let's just say in less than 10 hours I was back at this place to eat another round of yummy tacos. Also, just something to keep in mind, they do not serve alcohol. However, everywhere around you just steps away the surrounding areas do serve alcohol and there is a party in every corner on this street. Also, I felt safe in this area and I did not get sick from the food and neither did anyone from the group of 6 I was with.

Mix burrito and 4 mix tacos best everrrr

10/10, the ambience is chill, the staff is super nice, the server checked on us multiple times, food is amazing, the chipotle-pineapple sauce is just the best

This is a must stop after spending time partying in the area, the food is good and service is really fast. I just wish they would take more than cash , and prices were a bit less it's more of tourist prices of course but oh well. Good fast service before getting a cab and heading back to your hotel.

One of the best taco joints in Cancun, especially Hotel Zone. They're SUPER busy throughout the day, but people come & go pretty quick. The service is absolutely excellent like most businesses here. Hospitality and customer satisfaction is their priority. The tacos are delicious, made fresh in front of you, salsas hit the spot every time. Lots of spice and flavor! I definitely recommend, except their store front is hard to find, but it's right next to senior frogs clothing store.

Tacos (Pastor): $15 MXP each

I ate nothing but tacos for three days in Cancun, and Ta-ki-to dished up the best ones. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Takito doesn't open up until late, and as a result you can get a pretty... drunk crowd. That's neither here nor there, but just be on the lookout. Once you get yourself comfortable everything is gravy, and the tacos can flow freely. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? The tacos at Takito are very small, very very small, as in, you can easily put away ten if you're hungry, but they're only $0.80 each, which is a pretty good deal for this part of town. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? The pastor tacos are the only ones you should be getting. Don't bother with anything else and you'll be very impressed with the quality of the pastor, the peripherals, and especially the salsas. The only weakness here was the tortillas, but everything else made up for it. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? These are, in my opinion, the best tacos in the area, so yes it'd be my go to in the future. Star.

Pastor plate

The pastor plate was fire! Loved the green hot sauce. Cash only. Right in the zone....open pretty late & offered to-go.

This is actually a really nice "al pastor" taco stand right in the middle of the Cancun strip. The seating area is small and the wait sometimes long, but besides that, the food is quite good, especially for being sandwiched between a bunch of American chains. 1) Even if you are doing takeaway, be prepared to wait. We waited 15 minutes for a table and then almost 20 minutes more for our food. The seating area is small, but there are also a lot of "to-go" orders, and they can only make everything so quickly. However, we took it as a good sign that the place was packed, including with people that were likely locals such as taxi drivers and hotel workers. Be aware, the seating is all outside, and not covered, so if it rains, you will likely get wet! 2) There are quite a few choices on the menu, but you would really be missing out if you didn't order the main attraction, pork tacos (al pastor) from the rotating spit near the front of the patio. The tacos were very good: not the absolute best I have had in all of Mexico, but, so far, the best I've had in Cancun. The sauces were also quite enjoyable (the red sauce is smoky-sweet and the green pretty spicy). 3) Prices for the tacos were good, but be aware, drinks are a bit of a rip-off, and they will add a tip (propina) to your bill, so don't tip twice! All in all, a solid choice in the middle of the Cancun strip for tacos!

Food was pretty good but they're scam artists and will make up the bill amount. I questioned it and they kept telling me no until we paid.

It's huge, as far as presentation it's not very fancy, it was tasty but as large as it was you'd think it had more alcohol to offset the size. But it did not. My wife ordered the aguachile with octopus. I ordered the Tuna Burger, and we got the steak quesadillas as an appetizer. My wife said she would give her aguachile a 3.8 out of 5. I thought the tuna burger was very tasty. Basically they took a tuna steak and put it between a hamburger bun. I can't really compare it to a regular meat burger. But on a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 7. It came only with lettuce and tomato, but it had flavor enough. The quesadilla's were good, but nothing special, I'd say they were comparable to any you get at an average Mexican restaurant in the states. We came here because of the high ratings. Maybe we ordered the wrong things to try, I thought everything was good, but nothing that was so good it made me want to hurry back.

They are not pushy to get you in and out like other places. Will definitely be back

We had been walking in the area earlier that day and made a plan to come back for dinner. When we arrived there were a lot of people but we were seated immediately. Martin was our waiter and he was great. There were a few large screen TVs playing sports. There was live music. A lot was going on but it really worked. People were enjoying themselves and the wait staff was friendly and talkative. I ordered shrimp fajitas and my husband ordered the mole. He always orders mole. The meals were very good. We ordered a mango margarita and Tecate. The margarita came with a tehine rim. I just wiped it off. That is becoming so popular. I decided to indulge in the banana dessert and I am glad I did. It came with a show. That was fun and the dessert was delicious. We were there earlier in the evening and we saw many couples and families. I'm sure the place gets a little more livelier as the night goes on. If you are in the area, this is a good place to eat and enjoy your time in Cancun.

We must have arrived for an early dinner, because there were no patrons when we first got there. At the entrance, a staff member escorts you in and takes you up 2 escalators to the second floor, where you are under a covered outdoor patio. We got to choose wherever we wanted to sit, so of course I wanted the best view available. Our table faced other hotels that blocked most of the ocean, but it was an OK view anyway. We were also able to watch and be somewhat entertained by the fast moving traffic coming and going along the main drag. The wait staff were polite and efficient explaining the menus and drink specials to us. They offer a selection of tropical cocktails in which you can buy one and get the second one free. We of course decided on said drinks. Which was very refreshing, tasty and served in a very generous glass. Since we had worked up an appetite, we wanted to share several different appetizers as our main course. We had the deep fried shrimp tacos, fish tacos, potato shoestring wrapped shrimp, hot cheese dip and guacamole dip. All the food was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor in every dish! I wanted to give 5 stars because our whole experience was definitely deserving! But after a few hours, I developed a severe migraine headache that got worse later that evening. I haven't had a headache that bad in a long time! And I can only suspect that maybe they used a cheap type of alcohol in my drink or possibly they used wine instead which will for sure give me a headache! I can't prove that this is what happened, but it's the only reason I can think of!

The second time I went alone during two day taco spree because I still wanted to try the steak and bone marrow tacos. Chuchito Perez is part of a Mexican mini luxury restaurant chain with locations in Queretaro, Mexico City, Cancun and Monterey. The one in Cancun is located in a third floor palapa and shares the space with another restaurant so you can order off either menu. The first thing you notice when you reach this third floor palapa style restaurant is the view. You can force yourself to look between two hotel towers to see a sliver of beach on the ocean side or you can take in the breathtaking views of the lagoon and the nightclub area once it gets dark. The sunset over the lagoon is quite beautiful while the lights of the nightclubs below offer a bit of excitement once darkness falls. We were offered drinks from a two for one menu that seemed a bit too gimmicky and contrived for a luxury restaurant but the drinks were large and tasty even if the cheap alcohol may have contributed to girlfriend's headache. Perhaps they should skip the whole cheap drink, con artist style ritual and drop the price of their alcohol to where people might want to order from the regular menu? What they lose in markup could perhaps be gained in sales volume? Presenting a little sophistication rather than the appearance of desperation just might go a long way? We ordered three items from the appetizer menu, The Camarones Empapados (shrimp wrapped in potato strings), Queso En Salsa (melted cheese with salsa and peppers) and Guacamole made at our table. We also ordered Costras De Camaron (shrimp with pickles onions, mango & cilantro on cheese crusted corn tortillas) and Camaroncillas (fried tacos filled with shrimp) from the tacos menu. Everything was good but my favorites were the Queso En Salsa and the Costras De Camarons. Our waiter almost talked us out of ordering the Queso En Salsa by describing it as tomato soup with cheese. Believe me, it was not anything like tomato soup with cheese, the salsa was full of all kinds of amazing flavors and the nice, square chunks of cheese were of perfect size and texture and the best part of all was that it was not greasy. The mango in the Costas de Camarons really stood out and mixed perfectly with the shrimp while the cheese crusted corn tortillas and just the right amount of pickled onions and cilantro leant the perfect amount of support to really make this dish pop. The waiter telling us the suggested gratuity was equal to over 50% of the bill did not go over well with me but perhaps he just was not good at math? On my second trip I was on a mission to try as many different kinds of taco at as many places as possible in my short stay in Cancun and I really wanted to try their Arrechera Y Tuetano (flank steak and bone marrow) tacos. It seemed like such a unique dish. I wanted a shot of tequila and some sparkling water but the shot of tequila I wanted was about three times what I was paying for them elsewhere so I settled for a Modelo Negro and stopped for a shot on my way back to my hotel. The steak tacos were good on their own and adding the marrow to my first taco seemed like a waste of bone marrow so I ended up savoring small bites of marrow between bites of tacos. I have eaten at this restaurant at least three or four times. The food and service is typically mediocre and fast. However, my recent experience was horrible!! On my birthday, I was celebrating and decided to grab some food to avoid getting sick from the alcohol I was consuming. I decided on this restaurant because it was inexpensive and usually quick. On this particular evening, I waited 40 minutes for a basic chicken quesadilla. During this waiting period, I asked the waiter two or three times "what was the deal with my food," and he responded he would check on it. The place was relatively empty, so there was no reason I should have waited so long. After waiting 40 minutes for the chicken quesadilla, I decided to leave. Next thing I knew, the waiter was following me down the street with the check. I explained, I waited long enough, I no longer wanted the food. -- Next thing I know, I am approached by two police officers (with handcuffs in hand) along with the waiter. The officers stated, If I did not give them 600 pesos, I would be arrested. I knew that 600 pesos did not seem accurate, and I didn't want to go to jail in Mexico, so I decided to follow the waiter back up the street to the restaurant and pay the $8 USD tab. Again, why chase me down when I waited patiently for 40 minutes. Then get the cops to scare me. Horrible, horrible, horrible. AVOID THIS PLACE! -pics of the waiter attached
