This place is a tourist trap - Don't fall into it! Turn around and go the other WAY!!! I have visited Cancun two times within the past two years. I have eaten at this restaurant at least three or four times. The food and service is typically mediocre and fast. However, my recent experience was horrible!! On my birthday, I was celebrating and decided to grab some food to avoid getting sick from the alcohol I was consuming. I decided on this restaurant because it was inexpensive and usually quick. On this particular evening, I waited 40 minutes for a basic chicken quesadilla. During this waiting period, I asked the waiter two or three times "what was the deal with my food," and he responded he would check on it. The place was relatively empty, so there was no reason I should have waited so long. After waiting 40 minutes for the chicken quesadilla, I decided to leave. Next thing I knew, the waiter was following me down the street with the check. I explained, I waited long enough, I no longer wanted the food. -- Next thing I know, I am approached by two police officers (with handcuffs in hand) along with the waiter. The officers stated, If I did not give them 600 pesos, I would be arrested. I knew that 600 pesos did not seem accurate, and I didn't want to go to jail in Mexico, so I decided to follow the waiter back up the street to the restaurant and pay the $8 USD tab. Again, why chase me down when I waited patiently for 40 minutes. Then get the cops to scare me. Horrible, horrible, horrible. AVOID THIS PLACE! -pics of the waiter attached read more

Tacos in cancun in the alley at 3 am. Why not? Tacos were very good. Good fresh to order. Mexican style. Just meat and cheese on a small tortilla. They cut fresh beef off to grill and chopped chicken for the chicken tacos. I would definitely revisit if in cancun. read more

After trying the taco factory across from this place, we wanted to give this a try before we left Cancun. All workers on the strip will tell you very good, please come in, and try. We ordered chicken, beef, and gizzard taco. The chicken wasn't dry, the beef was dry, but the gizzard was just perfect. The corn tortilla was nice, fresh, and soft. They provided sauces, 3 spicy, and 3 non spicy. That spice was no joke so be careful on how much you put onto your taco. If we come back it'll be for the gizzard! read more

Top quality tacos, Top-quality service I found this place or I should say my stomach found this place after a long day of diving. The reviews do not lie this is easily one of the best taco places that I found in Cancun. Even just sitting down you get as much chips and salsa as you want. The tacos are not light on meat. The fajitas look like a pound of meat. I just had dinner and already I'm thinking about going back to this place for my late night munchies. read more

Ran into this place walking around alley of the miracles bear the night clubs in Cancun. If you want real authentic Mexican food come here. It was fresh and rely good. Try the arachera quesadilla and the pastor tacos. It was amazing. Our waiter was really nice and helped with choosing our food. When you come make sure to ask for HUGO. read more

This was a nice little spot with good air conditioning in the middle of the market district. Good tacos and good drinks and not too bad in pricing. For the price I'd give it 4 stars. I'd definitely go back when I come back! There are so many places in this area I'm curious to see how other places close by compare. But definitely a good places for tacos and enchiladas! read more

This is a must if you're in Cancun! My friends and I stopped in for lunch and chose this place based on yelp reviews. It's right next to the clubs downtown, and also close to many hotels. After having horrible food at our resort, we were thrilled to indulge in some tacos and burritos. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helped us order. The tacos were about $2 USD each and came loaded with meat. The chicken was tasty, but the steak was my favorite! I ate three and was stuffed for the day. They also give you chips and a table full of toppings to choose from. The only thing I wish they would've had was rice. I also ordered a lemonade and it came in a HUGE margarita glass, which was surprising, yet delicious on a hot day. Another thing I loved was that they played great hip hop music inside. We were the only people inside though, so that could've been why lol. Overall, it's a great small business and worth every penny. read more

This is my favorite taco spot in the North Hotel zone. The star of the show here are the gizzard (molleja) tacos. Cooked perfectly nice and soft, they have a great flavor and are truly unique as you don't see them anywhere else. Arrachera (steak) tacos are also very good here. Also had the pastor and chorizo that were good but the gizzard and arrachera are the ones you should go for. read more

So glad we ran into this place!!! First and foremost I would definitely say service and staff were great; attentive and friendly. Now for food...yes. Everything here tasted fresh and full of flavor. Only thing that was disappointing were the nachos, but then again, couldn't really find a 'decent' place for nachos...more of a texmex dish I suppose. Anyways of course I ended getting a chorizo taco and the arrachera taco...both were superb. However, one dish really stood out and that was a quesadilla filled with chorizo and arrachera! What a great creation for something so simple. The food came out quick and hot. You will not be disappointed, highly recommend! read more

Great taco spot. Although it seems to be touristy, the tacos are actually great. They are quite affordable. They bring the Pico de gallo and onions out separately so you can put in as much as you want. The salsas are very (very) spicy. We are here twice in one week, so good. read more

Great tacos but shady business. Check your change every time here because the waiters purposely short change you. I came here for lunch and the guy owed me like 120 pesos and he was like, "oh sorry I didn't notice". BUT here's the kicker, the couple that sat next to us told us to keep an eye on our money because they did the same to her. Simple mistake if it happens once, twice though? read more

Great Mexican cuisine and hookah bar. Service is absolutely excellent, truly a gem in QROO Cancún if you're looking for a good traditional food and hookah smoking combo. I went here thrice. 1) First day I went with friends and only ordered coffee, whereas my friends ordered tacos. They seemed to enjoy their food. We got complimentary nachos with several types of dips and salsas. The folks at Tacos Caminero clicked our photos (apparently for their facebook page). We willingly obliged since we were happy with the quick service. We were a diverse group of people from China, Taiwan, Lebanon, India etc. and everyone was fairly satisfied with the experience. 2) The next day, I was alone and looking to have lunch somewhere. My friends were traveling so I went back to this place for a quick lunch. I ordered a couple chicken Tacos. The guy who served me was fast and somehow he remembered that I had visited with friends before. I liked the tacos but he charged me 32 pesos per taco instead of 28 as printed on the menu. Since I was in a hurry to leave and it was only a matter of 8 pesos I didn't say anything, assuming it may be an honest mistake. 3)Finally we went here again the day we were flying out of Cancun, this time in a group of three and again for lunch. By then the conference that we were all attending nearby was over and this place looked very empty. We were expecting a quick service as before since we had to leave for the airport immediately after. Compared to other days the service was slower on the last day, in spite of less crowd(we were the only 3 when we came in). Moreover, to my horror, I found gross looking hairs on my tacos when they were brought to us. Again, I didn't throw a tantrum this time since we were getting late. But I was quite upset with the experience as it all went downhill towards the end. Not recommending this to anyone unless they like gross curly thick hairs topping their food. read more

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and met another couple on an anniversary trip at our resort, we ended up becoming friends with them. We had dinner reservations but the couple invited us to dinner and they were coming here. The couple knows the owner and the managers and really talked this place up. WOW. I am super happy we came here. My husband called his family right after and said they HAVE to come here on their next Cancun trip. The drinks were excellent. The service was top notch. Some of the better service we had on our trip. And the food.. the food was AMAZING! My husband got the chicken quesadilla and he talked about the quesadilla for 4 straight days. I got the chicken wire (fajitas w/ cheese). There were super flavorful and the flavors were excellent. I urge you to stop by, you will not be disappointed! read more

I'll tell it to you straight this place is inexpensive and has decent average food. Great for a quick meal that won't break the budget and the food was fresh. There were 6 of us and 3 really liked their food and 3 didn't care for theirs. Taco and fajitas are something to stick with. I thought my dish was really good as I had their special fajitas. Drinks are inexpensive and good. They had named brand liquor. Full bar. It is in a alley right across from Coco Bongo the night club. In the heart of all the nightlife. You can hit this place before clubbing or after for breakfast. The staff is amazingly attentive and helpful. They immediately greet you with chips and salsas. Our check with tip was $32 a couple and 10 drinks were ordered. We arrived by bus and said to drop us off at Coco Bongo and then walked across the street. Bus was a $1 US. Very easy and cheaper than a cab. read more

Maybe this should get a 3 (because come on it's a taco stand in Cancun hotel zone) but it's fun. The staff is very friendly and music is pumping. Food was fast and good. Beer is cold. Really what more can you expect? That's why it's getting a 4. It's not getting a 5 because it can't be a 5 star restaurant. Maybe Yelp should add a curve because some restaurants just are at a disadvantage. Find yourself down in the hotel zone and want some Mexican food. Def stop by. read more

Lots of people working for these taco places trying to convince you to come in and sell their tacos as the "best tacos in Cancun". We're pretty glad we stopped here. They give you chips and salsa and all the works you'll need to dress your tacos. The green sauce was good and so were the margaritas! We ordered the steak, steak with cheese and pork tacos and they were all delicious! My favorite was the steak! The meat was tender and lots of flavors - so it was seasoned well. I just thought they were a bit small and expensive for what you get. Good place to people watch, drink and hang out in a popular touristy area of Cancun. read more

This place was so good we went several times during our trip. I tried the Sirloin, Arrachera and Chorizo tacos. All of them were so tasty and not dry whatsoever! The first time I went Tomas warned me to be careful with the Habanero salsa they had and I obviously didn't listen to him and burned the heck out of my mouth LOL. I also really loved the frijoles charros they also serve. I will definitely come back when I make it back out to Cancun. read more

Nice place with good food at a good price. The pastor is some of the best I've had. Beers are cold and aside from the extremely loud music from what seems like all sides its an enjoyable meal. The service is real good as these guys hustle to earn their tips so be thoughtful. Ask for Shorty...he really made our visit a pleasant one. read more

I'm super glad we came across this spot while trying to find a spot to eat in the main tourist location of cancun. It's a quaint restaurant but the food is so good! They start you off with chips and 3-4 salsas plus pico de gallo. It was really good! Quick tip! The red/orangey salsa is suuuuuuper spicy. My sister dunked her whole chip in it and the staff came running to inform her of how spicy it was. She ate a little anyways and they got her some syrup to calm the spiciness down which was nice of them. I had a mini veggie burritos and it was really good. Tons of veggies and the tortilla was nice and fresh. I definitely want to make it a point to come back. read more

Stopped in for some tacos and a beer when we first got into town. The food was good, and very affordable. Tacos are about $1.50 - $2.25 a piece, depending on what meat you choose. I went with the pastor and chorizo. Both were good, not the best I've ever had, but it did the trick. I left happy and full. The wife and I ate and had a couple beers for under $20! read more

Tortilla chips straight out of the bag, the nachos were full of water from the beans I guess. I had to use a bowl to drain the mysterious liquid out of the nachos. The tacos were 'eh okay, very over salted. Service was fine, salsa was good. If you're looking for cheap Mexican food, there are a lot of better options read more

Great spot. Went here with my boys. Service was amazing. Tacos amazing. Guac amazin (not the standard stuff ask for real quac) and just a nice chill hang out. Had the chicken beef and pork taco. Sprinkle a little Pico, Guac and spicy sauce and it's perfect. Lots of meat had too left over tacos. N just chilled. If ur in the area def check it out. read more

I visited this place the first night that we arrived to Cancun since I was REALLY excited to have some real street tacos in Mexico. I should have known that the quality of the tacos would be disappointing since this place is in the middle of Cancun's most touristy spot. I had a couple of tacos and was severely disappointed, the tortilla was cold and the al pastor tacos were pretty bland. Since the tacos were bad I only ordered two and the waiter started giving us attitude because we ordered so little food. As soon as this started happening we ordered our check and left. Something that was pretty annoying was the fact that this place and the restaurant in front were blasting the music so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation without yelling (we were dining outside). Hint: Around the area there are usually carts that sell tacos, look for them. They are cheaper and better tasting. read more

I ordered the pork and steak tacos. The meat was so tender and juicy! I took away one star because the tacos was only meat on a tortilla. There were no toppings or anything else with it. They do give you chips with multiple salsas to choose from so I just added some salsa to my tacos. read more

This place was amazing!! Was walking down by all the night clubs and i was approached by Johnathan and explained to me the different types of foods that they have. I decided to give it a try and honestly can't say I haven't tried a better place in Cancun! Johnathan was amazing and treated us so great, so welcoming from the very beginning. Suggested all the great stuff and the mixed wire was DELICIOUS. Going to be the first place i visit next time I'm in Cancun!! THANK YOU JOHNATHAN!!! read more

The menu has 90% Mexican specialities, but also has pasta, burgers and vegetarian. I was there with friends who had quesadillas & I had chicken enchiladas. Everything was good & portions were big. I just drank water, so cannot comment on the drinks. I had the flan for dessert, which was generous in size & ok. One of my friends had the flaming bananas & said it was so yummy! Everything is surprisingly (for Cancun) priced affordable. My enchiladas were about $12. I would happily return here! So much fun!

I do love the churro cart here, but you can get good churros several other places. Overall, this place has gone downhill in our opinion, and for the price it isn't worth it when there so many better options close by.
