This place has really gone down hill. We sat in the patio on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm and they were not busy at all. We waited for 10 minutes or so with no service. I went to the hostess and asked for a water/waitress...nothing. Another hostess was seating another party and I asked her as well. About 5 min later we finally got a waitress. Our experience didn't get any better after that. Sat forever without drink refills or our food. We finally decided to just pay for our drinks and leave. The manager didn't apologize at all and had us pay. Very, very disappointing. Management....do better. Buda is a small town but there are many dining options and we won't be back. read more

Went last night and normally everything is great! We got chips and salsa and not a big crowd at all. Several servers walked by our table and the manager walked by and saw us sitting there and had the server bring us chips and salsa again. After at least ten minutes, no one asked us about drinks, ordering, nothing. We've never experienced anything like this and it was extremely disappointing. I had a problem - actually more like an observation that I wanted to make the manager aware of after our lunch today. But after waiting about 20 minutes - with several assurances from the waitress that the mgr was coming- he never did - so we finally just left. They will now never know and will never correct the problem (I'm sure of it) and continue to lose my business as I will never go anywhere other than TEXICAN Mexican Restaurant when we are in the area and hungry for Really Good - actually GREAT Mexican food. Just the chips alone are 10x better at Texican! To the owner: this post would Never have been written if your manager had simply came over to discuss the issue - so now you can both deal with it. read more

This was our 2nd visit and we enjoyed the food both times. My only complaint is the place is frigid, like a meat locker. The AC was blowing so hard our paper in our chip bowl was flapping in the wind. The restaurant is really clean and beautiful decorations. The wait staff was attentive and the food delivered quickly and very hot. The prices are similar to other Mexican restaurants in the area. I had the senior plate: choice of multiple items; plus choice of 2 sides. I had cheese enchilada; refried beans; chili con quest in a shell. Tonight was our last time taking our business to Casa Garcia's. We have been loyal patrons (at this location) for over 7 years, longer if you count the S Austin location. The quality and customer service has continued to decline especially during these hard times. I can understand an off night here and there but EVERY. SINGLE. TIME is downright unacceptable. They are sloppy, rude, the food isn't near as good as it used to be, and they don't care about their patrons. They also charge you $5.50 for chips and salsa if you order food-to-go. And if you order food-to-go and request curbside because you have medical concerns, they chastise you. This isn't food made with love anymore. And a good Tex-Mex restaurant is a dime a dozen in Central Texas so we'll just take our business elsewhere and never eat here again. read more

Casa Garcia's is a great place to eat breakfast or any meal whatsoever. The barbacoa tacos are the best, along with the chorizo & bean and whatever else you want. From tacos, combination plates to pancakes, it's all delicious. Don't understand the other low ratings, but this place will not disappoint! And as far as the price, well it's right there with the prices from it's competitors, so I cannot complain. If you want cheap then make it yourself. I definitely would come again! read more

Happy hour=bomb deals!! The 512 margaritas are so good they come frozen(pre mixed) and on the rocks ugh so refreshing. The chips are warm and yummy the salsa is good but I prefer a bit more heat. I would mostly come here for happy hour only the food lacked a bit of flavor but I'm from southern Cali soooo that could be a factor haha. read more

The restaurant in Kyle is hands down the worst place ever.. I've been there several times with the same result . To sit in the bar area on Sunday , you need to order an appetizer even if you are ordering full meals! Second, the enchiladas were cold and should probably not be called enchiladas .. Visiting a friend and wanted food and daybeers and she said this place was really good. She was not wrong. Nice patio seating and great service. Complimentary chips and salad are so good. This is like if NASCAR had a taco truck. If you want enchiladas smothered in hotdog flavored queso... this is your place. They lure ya in with the homemade tortillas. Unfortunately, I think that's all for show cuz I'm pretty damn sure none of my food had anything homemade. - Queso tastes like it's from a can (and like hot dogs marinate in it) - Chicken tastes like it's one of those little heatable chicken pieces kits you can get next to the lunch meat at the grocery store - Chile relleno was like a spicy soggy baby diaper. Who drenches enchiladas in queso? I am still confused about that. Like I'm all about queso. Queso is great. But who needs 2 lbs of it... especially on a quesadilla? Those were like Super Bowl enchiladas. I feel like both teams jumped off the screen and dunked the crockpot of cheese dip on my head like we won the game. I loved Casa Garcia until a few weeks ago. Went there for breakfast and 30 minutes after ordering our order hadn't come. We asked if they had forgotten us. The waitress went to the kitchen and brought out our order. It was cold so obvious they forgot about us We told our waitress and she took the food to the kitchen and brought it back. 5 star Margaritas!! The frozen margaritas here are amazing! It's hard for me to find good margs that are strong and yummy, not sure if they use tequila here but it sure does taste like it which is A1. The food is good and the service is pretty good, although i think it really depends on who your server is, I've been here a couple times and the women that were serving us had a little bit of an attitude. Food was good. The service was lacking and not so great. Bf told the waiter that he wanted a queso with meat and no avocado to go. Waiter brought it during the meal. Told waiter that he wanted it to go and chips. Waiter took it back and charged us for 2 queso's. Then brought out regular queso and no chips. Told us that he would have to charge extra for the chips. Seriously? What Mexican place doesn't give chips with queso?!?? We told waiter to add the chips and bring back queso with the meat in it, no avocado on it as requested the first time. Waiter brings out the queso with meat and avocado in it. Okay, not getting it right once, I get that. Everyone makes mistakes... but FOUR TIMES?!?! Then having the nerve to charge us $20 for 2 queso's?!? We didn't take the queso cause homie couldn't get the order right and the manager took both off our bill. The first time I went here, the service was stellar. The food was great, too, of course, but the quality of the food hasn't been an issue either time I've gone. Now here's the thing with this second time. For my birthday, my boyfriend and I went in for dinner. It was fairly busy, but there were quite a few unoccupied tables. After we were seated, maybe five to ten minutes later, someone brought us chips and salsa. We were waiting for someone to even to ask us if we wanted drinks for about twenty or so minutes after that. Not for someone to bring us our drinks, you understand, but to ask us what we wanted to drink at all. Eventually, when my poor boyfriend's mouth was burning from the salsa and no water to wash it down with (I had been drinking out of water bottle I was lucky enough to have in my purse, but he didn't want any of that, which is, to be fair, his own fault haha), they asked us what we wanted. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time, which is fine. My drink was a house made one, so they brought my boyfriend's fountain drink out first, and water for me. Shortly after that, they brought us our food (before my drink had arrived, which isn't the biggest deal ever but was somewhat annoying), except... there were no tortillas with my fajitas. I'd asked for extra, in fact, and they didn't bring me any. I politely asked if I could have tortillas with it, and it was another ten minutes before they got them to me. My boyfriend was nearly done with his meal when I finally started on my entree. I saw numerous tables helped prior to us, as if we were simply being ignored. Our waitress (at least, I think she was our waitress, but I'm not entirely sure because she interacted with us as much as the lady who brought us our food as well as the chips and salsa) apologized for taking so long, she was helping the big table next to us, but like... you were handling their ENTIRE meal PRIOR to helping us ONCE? I know wait staff has it rough, and I know they're underpaid, but this was my birthday dinner, and quite frankly, it sucked solely because of the service I didn't get. Two stars for an amazing experience last time, at the very least. Now, though, I just wish I'd gone somewhere else for my birthday. read more

If there was a half star rating, then this is what I would give this restaurant. I ordered 5 tacos at 10:07 am and was told 30 minutes. I am going on 45 minutes and still waiting. A young girl who was here before me had to wait longer for 4 tacos. Really bad experience. Garcia's in Buda has just about the same customers and has way better turn around time and great quality in their breakfast tacos. Really bad experience. read more

Ordered Chorizo and Egg, but requested just one egg and the Chorizo.  Well surprise,  I guess the  request is just that a request,  it's up to the cook to make the final decision apparently.  Or perhaps there is a communication issue or simply just not able to follow instructions.
