This is our go to place for Fajitas for 2, they are always made fresh. The tortillas are made fresh daily and always delish. I love the fact that you can get breakfast any time of day. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is because it is a little pricey and when we order the fajitas the size of the sides are small, I love their rice and my girlfriend loves their beans but they never give us enough of either. So we started coming here about 3 yrs ago, now not only are the sides smaller but the fajitas for 2 are barely enough, and the price is higher. "We" have been four times: 1st: opening night & we were turned away. They were closing early because they couldn't handle it and didn't wan anyone to "have a bad experience". Well, at least they are concerned. 2nd: 20 minute wait; couldn't get anyone to take my money at the bar when we were called to the table. Chicken dishes all around: stuffed avocado, tortilla soup, enchiladas verdes. None of it very good--bruised avocado, generally dry chicken, not enough green sauce and not very good either (stolen from Woody Allen). Chips and salsa, tortillas, and frozen margaritas all very good. 3rd: All the good stuff as before, pork in red sauce: OK; I've had better. Beef enchiladas with chili con carne: good, hard to mess up. 4th: I didn't go but I heard the fish tacos were excellent. Overall, fair to good food at somewhat high prices. The bar is a nice upgrade over the Palms or the Vegas, but the food and prices are in the other places' favor. Update Aug 31 2012. We've been many times, so it must not be too bad. The margaritas are still good and I am always happy with the nachos. They did manage to mess up the beef enchiladas with chili con carne. The sauce was so thin you could see the individual particles of chili. You could also see that there was no carne at all. The manager agreed. Here is the thing... I LOVE their food, but their service is just so so. There are two male servers that we have had that were great, but otherwise no good. I also would like to say that I am very disappointed in their take out. They ALWAYS forget at least one item. The only time they didn't forget something, they gave me beef enchiladas when i ordered cheese and I don't eat beef. They also now charge for chips and salsa with takeout.They said it was because of the cost, but I would think they would lose more business that way. I was told that I could get a "complimentary" size but the person who took my order did not tell me about this (even though I mentioned being upset about paying for it) and still charged me. Actually, Brandon, they are open. I was looking forward to a good tex-mex option in the area. Given that they have several other restaurants in Austin, I was surprised that their service was so poor. Went Saturday evening - long wait with open tables, very, very slow service. Finally gave up on receiving a drink that was ordered. Mediocre food made with velveeta-ish cheese. The chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce are good, guac OK, but meh on the rest. Most of the plates were overpriced by a couple of bucks. They do have a full bar-one star for that. Usually don't review a place till they've worked the kinks out, but figure folks need to be forewarned about the amount of time it takes to get a meal here. read more

I really like this place. I've DEFINITELY had worse Mexican food than this, so I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about. They have a large menu, although it is a little pricier than what I think it should be but it's still not bad. At least they keep the place clean (from what can be seen), so it could be worse. I've ordered a double-whiskey twice, and have been disappointed both times with the amount I receive and the amount they charge. Wow. Another Mexican Restaurant in Kyle. Do you not think we have way too many to begin with? We walked in an were immediately greeted by the host. We asked for a to go order. We wanted something simple. We asked for Nachos. I asked if they were individual chips or a pile of chips. I was told it was a pile of chips and would easily feed 2 people. For almost $10 for Nachos, I would certainly hope so. This place was new and was hopping with people, even at 9pm at night. We waited around for a few minutes while our order was being prepared. A few minutes later we were handed our food. We get home and we were very disappointed. There were probably 6 large chips in the box. The meat had not flavor at all. I am not sure what kind of cheese they are using but it tastes nothing like cheddar cheese. They gave us a box with onions, jalapenos sour cream and guacamole. It was enough for one person at the most. It was not worth the almost $10 I paid for the nachos. Su Taco down the road has nachos that 2 people can eat for $5.99. I had planned to get something else a la carte but everything on the menu was $9+. If I am going to spend that much on Mexican food, I will go someplace where I know I can get great mexican food, not Casa Garcias. Glad to see another restaurant on Kyle open. I've now eaten here three times. First time I had beef enchiladas. I thought they were pretty dang good. The second time I went for breakfast and got the beef fajita omelet which I thought was great, but my wife had to send her chicken fajita plate back because, although the plate was hot, the chicken was cold. The waitress was slow and forgot a few things. She was very nice, though. This morning we picked up breakfast tacos. The bacon/egg/cheese and sausage/egg/cheese tacos I had were fine...I mean, it's hard to make something that simple either very bad or very good. I have lunch here quite often because it's halfway between myself and a friend. We get pretty much the same experience each time. All but one time we've been seated immediately. The staff are friendly, keep the chips and drinks full, and rarely mess up an order (the one time I can think of is when I got steak instead of chicken inside my chimichanga, which I was fine with). Prices are reasonable but maybe a little high compared to my usual spots in San Marcos. One thing to be aware of is the salsa is pretty spicy; I'd put it somewhere between medium and hot compared to what you'd buy at the store. So be prepared to order queso (which is plenty good) if you want something less spicy. I nearly always have a chimichanga with fajita chicken, which is super tasty. It comes with rice and a little salad & guac, all of which is good. All in all it's predictable and satisfactory and that keeps us coming back. read more

Yes you can order curbside but that's as far as the process goes. They never answered the phone. Went inside to get food and after driving 10 miles there and 10 miles home we were missing a whole meal. Save your time and money and get taco bell. We have eaten at Casa Garcia's once a week for years. Never again! Even taking into consideration the Pandemic and loss of experienced staff, the food, service, and management has declined drastically. Our last visit we were seated at a table and then noticed dripping water from the ceiling. They placed a pan under it, but the water continued to drip and splash water on my legs. Overall I would say "Casa Garcia's" is about average when it comes to Mexican food in the Kyle area. Having 4 established Mexican food restaurants and a new one on the way, Casa Garcia's is stuck in the middle. Their food is good, however highly overpriced. You can't really get a plate (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) for much less than $10.00 a person. With other restaurants in town that have better food and priced much less, for me, Casa Garcia's is a last resort. In my recent visits, service has been acceptable. I haven't had any issues with waiting for a table, service from the wait staff, and food coming from the kitchen. I would have to say our overall experience was over-priced and slow service. We were really excited for this new Mexican restaurant to open here in Kyle. It's a nice location, with lots of shaded outdoor patio seating. And the ambiance and decor inside is really nice. Nice tables and chairs and good size bar area. We ordered a small queso for appetizer ($5), it was good. And the chips and salsa were good, except our first basket was full of crumb chips. We had to ask every time to have our chips and salsa refilled. Good servers shouldn't need to be asked. Took awhile to get our drinks and order taken. The server apologized and said they were between shift changes (we were there between 4-5pm) and there was only 2 of them covering the floor. After our dinner order was taken it took a long 45 minutes to get it. That was disappointing. We ordered 2 kids plates ($4.99 each, a bit high) and fajitas for two. Our server came by and apologized, she said it's taking a little longer to cook the fajita chicken, they didn't want it to be raw. Um okay. The food was alright. We've had better Mexican. Rice and beans were bland. The fajita meat was good though. Our bill was $50 including tip, that was for the appetizer queso, 2 kids meals, and fajitas for two - no drinks except the kid drinks that came with their meals. Definitely seemed over priced for the quality of service and the food. The atmosphere is nice, and they have good choices in music that isn't too fast or too annoyingly slow. The chips/salsa and queso were alright--not the best salsa I have had nor the best chips. (Queso wasn't bad) I typically only order cheese enchiladas depending on what I want that day--this was my 1st time here in quite a while. I received my order correctly, it wasn't cold, and they warned me about how hot the plate was. In my opinion, they need to focus on making the tortilla softer as it bakes. (Perhaps marinating them overnight?) To be honest I was a little disappointed for what the place looked/sounded like from the outside. You're average Mexican food restaurant. Salsa has a yummy tomato base with a kick of spice. Chili con carne had a nice flavor, great use of spices and not a reliance on heavy salt. Came in today to order some tacos to go after a doctors appointment and was very disappointed in the service. I love to come here because the food is great in my opinion. The female bartender rolled her eyes at me multiple times and was extremely rude. I used to be employed here so I am very aware that the bartending staff can take to go orders but I guess she just didn't wish to waste her time with me. I'm so sorry so many others were having bad experiences. My husband and I went yesterday at noon (on a Sunday - busy busy) and it was great. We waited about 15 minutes. Waitress was very sweet and attentive even though she was very busy. Enjoyed the chips, queso and salsa - a little too much, when my meal arrived I was mostly full :) I got the Numero Uno. One crunchy taco, guacamole salad, 2 cheese enchilladas, beans and rice. I thought it was great. Folks, remember, it's not classic mexican food, it's just tex-mex at a good price, so don't expect it to be fantastic. Oh, sweet tea is really sweet - just as I like it. We will not be returning to this location... I just moved to Buda and passed by this Casa Garcia's location a couple of times. Looks like a great strip-mall chain (that's not a bad thing - just call it like I see it!) with inviting outdoor lights and a nice sized patio with TV's. Enough with the "good". These folks need to revamp everything - from the host service to the food. A restaurant should operate as a team, not a bunch of individuals hodge-podging a dinner service together... We arrived on a Saturday around 7:50pm and were told 20-30 minutes. About an hour later we were seated. Several large parties (10+ people each) took up the majority of the dining room, leaving few tables for parties of 2-6. Once seated, we perused the menu and were ready to order. We had queso - $6.99 - and it was a buttery-cheesy variety. On par with other Mexican restaurants. My mother and I ordered the tacos al pastor, boyfriend ordered the mole enchiladas, and dad ordered the blackened tilapia. It took about 20 minutes to get the tacos and enchiladas - but they completely forgot the tilapia. By the time our waitress finally managed to make it back around to our table (~15min. after initial food arrived), she went back into the kitchen and "checked on it". By the time the tilapia arrived, everyone at the table was finished eating, so we requested a to-go box for the food. The waitress said she was sorry, that she would take the queso off the bill and then ran off... It was just a not great experience that wasn't handled well on the customer service end. I've never been so mistreated in a restaurant... we waited 30 Minutes to sit down.. no big deal, we knew that when we put our names down. When we were seated we were handed one menu...again...no big deal. But we waited 20 minutes all the while the server tended to all the other 4 tables in the outside patio area but us. Again...we waited patiently and politely asked the waitress for a water. She severed all the other tables refills again but still didn't bring us our first water. I have 2 kids with me... one is 11 and one is 6. They were thirsty from the hot salsa...still...no water for us. Then she had the nerve to take a water to another table again... I have been coming to Casa Garcia's for a long time and I love this place the waiter and waitress are outstanding the bartenders our more outstanding every time I come in they all say hi to us so they make us feel like we are at home . The drinks or great and the food is very good we have never had any bad food or drinks the atmosphere is very friendly. The manager here to is amazing he is very friendly and always will to help us with anything we need one time we were at the bar and their was a hook missing to hang your purse we told him and the next week we came back and the bar had all the hooks around the bar that is some good management. This place is fantastic! Our waitress was kimberly today and she is absolutely great! She knows the menu like the back of her hand and can answer any question you may have. Everyone here is friendly and helpful and the music is fun. There is a lot of space here, so you never feel crowded next to other guests. I want this restaurant to succeed. We love Casa Garcia's on Wm Cannon, but would love to have the option to go to Kyle. But I was disappointed. My husband ordered Cheese Enchiladas and I ordered The Señorita Garcia plate. My food (taco and cheese enchilada was the same as the Wm. Cannon location but it was served lukewarm. I was waiting to be seated when I saw a woman sitting at the bar call the manager by his name "mark" I believe. She begins pointing to an innocent family of 3 whom we're just ordering drinks at the bar.
