Came here for a dinner on a weekend night - they looked pretty full, but were able to seat the 3 of us outside within like 10 minutes. Service was quick in general. The place is a little on the pricier side, but I really enjoyed the food. We got a pitcher of Sangria for 21 euros. It wasn't too strong, but it tasted good. As for tapas, we got the calamari and gambes a l'allet (shrimp). The calamari was a little different from expected, since it was like the head (not cut up) so it was a little thick, but had good flavor. The shrimp was my favorite part and super flavorful, though it was doused in oil so maybe not the healthiest. We got the seafood paella, which was about 19 euros per person. This thing was absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect size for 2 people and there was a good amount of seafood in it. Nice and crispy on the bottom too, which was a delight. Would come back for this!

Octopus was great and the chorizo sausage was ok

Great ambiance, service, and food. Much better than any other tapas restaurant you'd find near other popular tourist destinations. It was a bummer that they charge a 15% premium for sitting on the patio, but not a deal breaker.

Although other reviews said to avoid the meat, we couldn't resist the squid tapas, the beef cheek, and the lamb. The potatoes on the side were well flavored. Beers aren't too expensive and a good alternative to water. We were seated immediately, and food came out pretty quickly as well, considering we ordered main dishes. Squid came on potatoes, the lamb came with carrots, and the beef cheek was slightly sweet and so tender. Lamb was tender as well, and a lot of meat for the price in my opinion. Bones were easy to dodge. Sitting out on the patio in perfect weather was a great way to experience the cuisine, and there are plenty of things to see nearby. Lovely afternoon lunch!

Best latte I've ever had at a bar!

We waited over 45 minutes to be seated even though our host said our wait would be 10-15 minutes. However, it was worth the wait! We had some lattes while we waited and they were amazing. We ordered the beef cheek & the lamb (see photos). Both entres surpassed our expectations! They were the most buttery, tender meat I've ever had. I can't decide which one I liked the most!

As we were strolling through our initial visit to El Born, we ended up here for lunch. Good service and good food equaled a happy crew. Ham croquettes, garbanzos with spinach and morcilla sausage, calamari, anchovies, octopus Lovely outdoor seating in the middle of the action.

Al fresco is more like add fresco (extra 15%) for outside seating. We tried some of the * dishes outlined as "specialty". The paella mariscos was loaded with squid, mussels, and shrimp. I was pleased the dish was very savory and had short grain rice soaked in the broth. The bisteak was thin and bland, but the shoshito pepper on top was a great nod to the local faire. My favorite were the little squid frito, crispy tentacles with the lemon wedge to bring it to life. Location is great for people watching and the service seemed understaffed for a Monday afternoon. However, our server never rushed us and was very pleasant. She mixes the drinks table side and had an Irish elbow to her pours. I watched as she stirred up sone Gin & Lemonade. Location is right in the heart of El Born and next door to Dolce & Gabanna. Very near to Picasso museum.

On our first night in Barcelona, we walked through the neighborhood and went to dinner at Casa Delfin which is over 100 years old. We had a reservation but it was still pretty early so there were plenty of available tables. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine to start. I think Barcelona is the only place I've said I'll have a glass of house wine and actually enjoyed it. We ordered pan con tomate, octopus, Iberico ham, and padron peppers. We had a really nice casual dinner and couldn't complain about the food or service.

Cute little restaurant with a surprisingly good menu, location and service! Weren't sure if this would be a touristy spot but it wasn't actually too bad. We sat outside on a hot day in July and enjoyed a sample of tapas- some fried artichoke hearts and our new favorite "cocoa bread". Nice and friendly service, and decent pricing. Would recommend this to anyone traveling in Barcelona looking for a good place to eat in the El Born/Picasso museum area!!

Ham croquette, olives, fried artichoke, fried peppers, chorizo in red wine (and of course, a San Miguel)

Very flavorful and fast experience. Oxtail and mashed potatoes 10/10: the oxtail meet is so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes pair so well with the oxtail. Mushroom, steak, and egg yolk 9/10: soo flavorful and balance of veggies and protein. Amazing textures and flavors. Sparkling sangria: 8/10 I don't normally live the taste of alcohol but this was great. Not tooooo strong and if tastes pretty good if you mix it with the orange juice. Fresh orange juice: 10/10 so tangy and delicious. I can't recommend it enough. Patatas bravas: 9/10 solid no complaints! Dessert Tapas: - bread dessert (Tarija): 11/10 amazing dessert that is creamy, cameralized, and has a mochi like texture. This fried chewy dessert is not too sweet and such an affordable price. - coconut pudding 9/10 solid and refreshing if you like flan - bread, chocolate oil, salt 7/10: I live the complex flavors. The chocolate mousse was light and the bread to mousse ratio was perfect. It's a smaller dessert tho I wouldn't recommend it if ur sharing. Service: amazing! Staff I'm everywhere so it was very easy to order more food. Also we were sitting buy the area where they made dessert and they allowed me to record them making it!! The feta cheese was absolutely disgusting, it tasted like imitation rubber cheese. - The "Al Ajillo" Style Shrimps (GAMBES AMB ALLADA) had a very strange flavor within it, which overwhelmed the garlic flavors. - The Beef Tenderloin (FILET VEDELLA), she had to spit 1/4 of it out because it was too tough. - Everything was overpriced there for the value. The service was excellent, our server spoke English and knew so much about American pop culture. He even sang NSYNC songs to us while serving us dishes. As for the food let's get into it: - Lobster Croquettes (8/10) We've had a lot of croquettes this trip, but these were on another level, get one per person. - Paella (7.5/10) Different style of paella from other places we went. It was almost like a paella curry, which was still rich and delicious. - Squid Sandwich (10/10) This is hands down the best appetizer I've ever had. The squid was packed with flavor and the mayo sauce they used paired perfectly. Order one per person, and be prepared to order another to go. - Garlic Shrimp (8/10) Solid entree paired with sourdough bread. Dip that bread into the sauce and you'll be satisfied. - Aged Beef Steak w/ Foie Gras (9/10) This might be one of the best steak dishes I've had traveling abroad. It was cooked perfectly, and came with a potato crust on the bottom and Foie Gras on top. Definitely a must order. Overall a great experience, from the service and ambiance to the quality of the food, this is a must try when visiting Barcelona. Would I go again? Absolutely!
