I was working in Geneva and needed to make a quick trip to Auburn. The store I went to raved about the food and gave us great suggestions to order. We were seated immediately when we walked in. As expected we got chips and salsa. First thing we noticed was that the chips were warm. Usually they are straight from the bag to the table but these were not. The salsa was thick and tasty. I ordered the Santa Fe burrito. The server said it was the most ordered burrito and I could see why. It was filled with steak, chicken and veggies with a corn salsa on top. I do not like beans and rice in my burrito, I asked if I could get it on the side instead and they were quick to accommodate. I really enjoyed this meal. read more

Stopped here on a whim and it turned out to be surprisingly amazing. Salsa was tasty, chips were warm... my street tacos were top notch and my husband said his fajitas were some of the best he's had. The inside decor very much reminds me of the disney movie Coco, meaning colorful and festive. We had a great time trying a new restaurant and would gladly return. read more

I didn't realize today was opening day! I wouldn't have known if I hadn't asked! We were greeted immediately and led to our seats. The restaurant is beautiful; it was worth the wait! There are all new booths and a beautiful fountain in the center of the restaurant! So cool! Beth was our server, she was excellent and very attentive. We got the Nachos Locos to start, they came out super fast and were great! I got the shredded beef chimichanga and my other half got the Santa Fe Burrito. Both were great and came out insanely fast; like faster than I expected, but it's better to get it faster than slower! We were stuffed, but next time we'll get the fried ice cream to finish! All in all it was a great experience, Auburn needs good Mexican fare and I'm excited Casa Azteca is here! I'll definitely be back! A few things to improve (and as you can see it didn't cost them stars because I consider this all minor): -the prices on the menu online vs. The printed menu are different. The printed menu is a 1-3 dollars more expensive for most items on the menu. Also the chimichanga is listed on the online a la carte menu but not on the printed one; someone should QC the two menus. -PLEASE be clear on what brand of "cola" you have; the menu says cola, I'm assuming it's actually Pepsi based on the taste, but when I order a Diet Coke and I'm not corrected, I totally assume it's a Diet Coke. -Speed is important for sure, but your kitchen is SO fast that it seems like they're cutting corners to prioritize speed, for example, I'd much rather have the lettuce on my nachos more shredded than giant chunks, and the lettuce on my plate was still wet (I appreciate washed lettuce, don't get me wrong), they totally had time to spin it dry. -finally, give patrons the option to type in a tip; the highest option was 25% and I would have loved to tip more because our server was absolutely fabulous!! This is my second review for Casa Azteca simply because of the reviews suggesting other area Mexican restaurants were as good or better. The food here is awesome. The disadvantage of trying to duplicate authentic flavors is local ingredients which are almost always different than native brands. Think of a McDonald's happy meal in Thailand. To me, this is the best Mexican food in Auburn, NY. Friendly staff, reasonably quick to deliver and somewhat affordable prices for most. read more

I wish 0 was an option! This is the third time ordering the same exact thing. Enchiladas rancheras and all three times the cheese in the enchiladas is not melted. I sent it back tonight and it's the wrong order. I requested to speak with the manager, he Came over and all I got "well it's Friday. It's busy". Are you kidding me!! An impromptu date night landed my spouse and I here recently. At peak dinner hours on a Friday, we waited a half hour for our table. The ambiance is nice, decor is festive and colorful in a rather cavernous space. Bathrooms and restaurant are clean. The bar is large, pretty impressive. Since it's a large open space, it can become quite noisy. The service was excellent from all. Staff, our server Rodrigo was nice and efficient. We started with complimentary chips and salsa. At first I wasn't entirely sold on the salsa but as I ate more of it, it won me over, slight build up of heat was unexpected. I prefer a chunky salsa and while this was thin it was great on the food. I ordered the carnitas and my husband ordered the tacos al pastor. My go-to order at any Mexican restaurant is carnitas and I can confidently say that this is some of the best carnitas I've ever had, even when in Mexico. The chunks were so flavorful, crispy and huge! Leftovers were just as good. The tacos were spot on as well. Prices are more than reasonable, $15 for my entree. I highly recommend and most definitely will be back soon! read more

The food this time was very mediocre at best. I am very disappointed with this place because me and my wife work hard for our money and we got overcooked dry rushed food. My street taco's were bland overcooked dry. My wife's Joel's burger was rushed and overcooked burnt. The order taker in the front was nice and professional but the cook needs to cook better and be patient with food. The ambience is irrelevant because we got take out here. We should expect a full refund from this place because the food was not good and very sad. This place is not consistent lately order at your own risk. 1/5 Stars! read more

Third time for me here and it's as good or better than my previous visits. The only way I can measure the food from place to place is to order the same item from each. I like ensaladas, so that's my gauge and I have yet to get bored of them. The service is always friendly here and there's a nice kind of authentic atmosphere. It's okay. They're friendly and the atmosphere is nice. Music is a little loud which makes it hard to have a conversation; it felt like we were yelling to hear each other. The food is average at best. I got a quesadilla and there was very little cheese in it. It had so little cheese that it didn't even stay together. It was also soggy on the bottom. I have never been more disappointed with a dinner before. I ordered a burrito and half of it was onions and half of what it said was not it was not. Please do not waste your time coming here. The co-owner is a complete jerk. I ordered about $100 in take-out food and did not get items I ordered. When I called back I spoke to a staff member who stated they would take my name and the next time I ordered I would have my items replaced which I paid for. I came in about two weeks later and the co-owner was extremely rude to me stating I was lying and there was no record of this. I explained the situation to him and he was extremely disrespectful. My to go order was over $100 this I expect to get my complete order. I did not expect to be addressed as I was. Please spend your money at a different location. Me and my wife went here for lunch like we have been since they opened and on 3/19/24 we went there for lunch and we both got the chicken fajita and I was eating it and fe something hard so I spit it out and it was a chicken bone and we called the manager over and he acted like he didn't care and accused us of complaining before which was untrue and he did take it off the bill and the waitress Maddie was so into herself and wasn't very good at her job but after the managers attitude we won't be going back unless they get a new manager so I'm only giving it two star review read more
