Matt Pierson, owner of Simple Roast Coffee which has two huts in Auburn, has built an extremely loyal fan base for his coffee since they opened almost a decade ago. Founded in 2016 with a drive-thru location in Sennett, Simple Roast has grown significantly, including a second drive-thru in Towne Center Plaza and a team of nearly 30 employees. The company announced on Facebook the opening of Roast & Toast at 99 Genesee St., a site previously known as Rudolph's Sugar Shack and revealed the café's dual nature: a cozy café by day and an upscale, speakeasy-style cocktail bar by night. I've been going to Simple Roast Coffee since it opened, and it's some of the absolute best coffee in the area. I don't drink, but what interested me in Roast & Toast was the fact that they offer mocktails on their bar menu, and I love me a good mocktail. It's in a great location with plenty of parking. Very nicely decorated inside, and has one of the best looking bar/coffee counters I've ever seen. Also, the absolute best, nicest public bathroom I've ever been in. I tried one of every mocktail, the wife tried a couple cocktails and we split a tiramisu dessert and everything was delicious. Employees were very friendly and accommodating. Great laid back place to grab a coffee or a cocktail.

While it is an established fact that this boy cannot be without his ice coffee, I have now updated that requirement requiring constant access to a Roast and Toast/Simple Roast Ice Latte. And the hours could not be more perfect. Coffee til 2, nap, and then cocktails for dinner! Brilliant!!!!!! Speaking of cocktails - could you ask for better names than Cabaret Fatale, Little Tramp, and It Girl! It's like the drinks were named after me and my girlies! Highly recommend - the drinks, food, staff, and ambiance are TOP TIER! It is like a little piece of the big city in boring ole Auburn!

This place rules. Went for amazing coffee and perfect banana and on toast. Ask for knife and fork. Real coffee. So damn good. Marry me.

GCT Goat Cheese, Prosciutto, Arugula, and Hot Honey. Delicious combination paired with your favorite drink!

Great service and atmosphere. I come here often and decided to try one of my favorites with a twist!

    Two cocktails and a menu.

Lovely service, tasty coffee, interesting food, nice set up! Parking was a touch tricky so prepare for that by backing in. Thank you!

As we turned the corner we saw a sign in front of A.T. Walley's for $5 burger and chips or 2 Hoffman Hots with chips. Well, the price was right! The guy was outside on the sidewalk grilling them and it smelled really good. So even though I was in the mood for wings, we decided to give the food here a try. We went in and got a table with no problem. Waitress said that along with the regular Wednesday night specials they also had $4 Beef on Weck for $4. We were really hungry so we ordered 2 Beef on Weck sandwiches and the hot dog special. It was amazing! The beef and au jus was fabulous! They each came with kettle chips and pickles. Yum!!!! And who does not love a Hoffman Hot, right?! Then we saw that they had 11 menu items for just $5 on Thursday nights from 4-10 pm. We had to be downtown again the next night so we went back! I got the grilled chicken Caesar Salad and he got the NYS Fair beef and Lamb Gyro. Once again, full portions for only $5! What a find!! We had always just gone there for drinks and music prior to this. They have a great bar selection and have $3 drinks on Monday nights....including their signature cocktails! It is a great place to go, have a drink, hang out with friends, listen to music on occasion and now I will be stopping in to check out more on their menu as well!

Really nice bar and restaurant with great food and good prices…read more It's a two page menu with a nice amount of options for vegetarians, although they made my inner-Buffalonian happy when I saw Beef on Weck on the menu. I had a veggie burger and it was pretty tasty! A good meatiness - if that's what you're after. The real star was the fried cheese curds from the specials menu - salty, a hint of sweet from the light glaze on them, crunchy fried outside, and ooey gooey cheesiness. The drink prices weren't listed on the but turned out to be very reasonable. I was at Parker's with a large group and they handled us really well. We happened to be there on night with live music and the two brothers they had playing were great and part of my group kept half singing along while the rest could carry on conversation just fine. The decor is nice- old wood and gorgeous stained glass ceiling lamps that are all different. Everyone had their own favorite. The bar has a patio area that can be opened up in nice weather. Car parking is in on the street. I didn't spot any bike racks nearby but there are sign posts that could serve. It's in a very walkable downtown.

Enjoyed another evening here in what has become an annual visit. the savory steak salad…read more(Char-grilled sirloin steak cooked to liking with spring greens, roasted red peppers, feta, onion, bacon bits, Kalamata olives and choice of dressing) was huge, loaded with steak done just the way it was requested. Companion had the fried fish sandwich, even tho we weren't there on a Friday. We shared 2 desserts: the turtle cheese cake and the pbexplosion cake (layers of chocolate cake and pnut butter mousse); the cheesecake was the winner here although both were very good. Actually we each felt as if we had too much chocolate; who ever says that?!
