I was going out to dinner before heading to hear friends at Open Mic night. The place I started at had at least a 45 min wait. So we decided to go somewhere else, but where? As we turned the corner we saw a sign in front of A.T. Walley's for $5 burger and chips or 2 Hoffman Hots with chips. Well, the price was right! The guy was outside on the sidewalk grilling them and it smelled really good. So even though I was in the mood for wings, we decided to give the food here a try. We went in and got a table with no problem. Waitress said that along with the regular Wednesday night specials they also had $4 Beef on Weck for $4. We were really hungry so we ordered 2 Beef on Weck sandwiches and the hot dog special. It was amazing! The beef and au jus was fabulous! They each came with kettle chips and pickles. Yum!!!! And who does not love a Hoffman Hot, right?! Then we saw that they had 11 menu items for just $5 on Thursday nights from 4-10 pm. We had to be downtown again the next night so we went back! I got the grilled chicken Caesar Salad and he got the NYS Fair beef and Lamb Gyro. Once again, full portions for only $5! What a find!! We had always just gone there for drinks and music prior to this. They have a great bar selection and have $3 drinks on Monday nights....including their signature cocktails! It is a great place to go, have a drink, hang out with friends, listen to music on occasion and now I will be stopping in to check out more on their menu as well! read more

AT Walley's has such a charm to it and embraces that old-timey feel. You'll never be surrounded by more bottles of Dickel in your life; I've only seen the whole personal bottle on the wall thing in NYC, but it's also a thing here! They have awesome craft cocktails, their bartenders put a lot of pride into their craft. Their food is also pretty dang delicious! If you make your way out of Cuse to Auburn, this spot had some very good food. Thurs night special was a $6 angus burger and fries. Large and in charge! Can't beat the price. The service here was terrible was out with my boyfriend and he forgot his ID and was cussed out by the bartender after saying it was okay if he didn't get a drink. We told the bartender we weren't trying to give him a hard time but he continued to cuss us out and caused a scene. Didn't say we could come back with it and or anything was very hostile. Stopped in for a drink while passing through town and we're very glad we did. Sat at the bar and was served by Noah, who was extremely personable and fun to chat with. We ordered a pizza to share, it was soooo good! The sauce blew my mind, so simple and delicious. Very nifty pub. Dim lit with Edison bulbs and antique furniture. Very hip. Whiskey club litters the walls with bottles of other people's booze. 1/2 priced roast beer on Wednesday. This is a hidden gem in the middle of Auburn. I almost didn't go to it because it looked like a very upscale place. The decor is wonderful, and the staff is very friendly. There's whiskey bottles locked up all over the place, which is pretty neat. Try the Guinness, it appears to flow well and is a good pint. I plan to stop in the next few nights I'm up here visiting. I will report back as my experience evolves. Ok so I had the smokehouse burger. RIDICULOUS. Highly recommended. I just wish it came with French fries and not tater tots. I find it tacky to serve cocktails, wine and beer in horrible plastic cups. After bragging about this being the best bar in Auburn we brought a former local in this past Wednesday before thanksgiving. We were greeted with a packed house of adults drinking out of plastic. I was embarrassed. I realize it's a busy night for bars but for the prices they charge suck it up and use real glassware. Oh and thanks for removing all the furniture so we had no place to sit. Stopped in for afternoon refreshments. Friends got Bloody Walley, garnished with a home made pickle - I got the Peach Irish Tea. Both were fantastic. Up for a shot? Ask for a pickle back you won't be disappointed. Bartenders are great! They were the owners and their pride of ownership shows from the way they dress, all vested up to how proud they are of the remodel of the 3 store fronts that are now the bar. Downtown Auburn has changed quite a bit in the past few years. It's a great place to bounce around now. My favorite stop is always Walleys. Geoff and his staff are well trained and excellent bartenders. Their whiskey, bourbon, and scotch selection are the best I've found in the area. Let me tell you - A.T. Walley & Co. brings it. Very enjoyable place, great drinks, good food (serves lunches), great service and just a great comfortable atmosphere in an old, renovated building. It's not a sports bar and certainly not a dive. You could put it in any city in the United States and it would flourish. Kudos to Auburn NY for having such a place in helping revitalize and re-energize downtown Auburn. It's located closeby to the Auburn Public Theater. Definitely a welcomed addition to Auburn. Walley's is a semi-classy cocktail bar with a nice bar setup and a small lounge area (which is good for parties and groups). The martinis are flawless. I stick to the classic gin ones so I can't vouch for the flavored ones or the specials. Small food menu and I've only had the cheese plates which are a little on the "meh" side. Beer range is solid (it's all bottles with Guinness on tap as the lone exception). Not crazy about the music jukebox selection and the bartenders can be a little hit or miss on occasion but overall it's worth a visit and a nice change of pace from the local dives and taverns. read more

I really like this bar. They have all these funky drinks, ya know- different types of martinis and whatnot, so if you are into sweeter tasting alcohol this should be your first stop when in Auburn. It's really beautiful inside- it has great wood paneling that gives a really classy vibe. I found it a little bright for a bar, but that's a good change for some people. This is one of my favorite bars in Auburn. Their cocktails are great (I especially enjoy their old fashioned), their beer selection is solid, the decor is classy but comfortable, and they have great festivals every few months. Nice place but was very upset with food. Small antipasta came with one slice of cheese cut in half and one slice salami cut in half. The leafs was brown. For 8 bucks I could have gone to Price Chopper and bought a bag of salad mix and made my own. It was not worth 8 bucks if 2 bucks. Serves was slow and was not busy, I stop in town 3 times a year and stop at a pub one block away. I will continue with the pub in future. Long ways to go to beat areas restaurants and pubs. As others posted nice place. but nice place doesn't exceed what you get for service or product in the long run. read more
