BI love the Waterside Wine Bar! The owners work hard at this little hide a way. They provide love music, fantastic food, great atmosphere and it has a view of the water! I recommend you call ahead even with the Covid 19! They fill up fast and because of Civid 19 they have to space everyone. To drive by you would think they could not have much but they do to our suprise. My friend invited my husband and I there for dinner and now my husband is hooked. I say if you like pretzel or bread in general get there prezel! Delish! Now I want one and I just ate!. My husband had pulled pork and said he enjoyed it very much. I had the pretzel and a cranberry salad. Oh my God it was not what I exspected! Wonderful! Full of cranberry and an array of greens and it was big with some chicken on top. Note chicken was not to my liking but I ate some of it as I dipped it in a home made cranberry dressing. Did I mention it was a larg2 sale and they gave a large size of dressing on the side. Nice and thick, I used it for dipping my salad and chicken in it before I ate it. Delish. I would say this is a Phelps Hidden Gem!!. It sits right next to the town waterfalls. The falls lights up at night. Beautiful. It looks small and it is recommend you call first but if you are going through the area it is worth checking it out. Opens at 5pm serves food beer and wine! Enjoy. Thanks Tonya for interducing me to this wine bar! I will highly recommend.

Wife and I were on the bike and both were looking for something to eat. This place is so elegant and quaint. Outdorr seating right on the creek and waterfalls in downtown Phelps, NY. The owners were there (Don and JoEllen) and they are so polite and thankful for the business. Truly a diamond in the rough. Huge beer and wine menu. Food is oitstanding.

The owner of this bar has the absolute WORST customer service skills EVER!!! I asked him Ever so politely if there was a way to lower the thermostat where the Reunion Meet and Greet was happening... He instantly snapped on me and told me we had to DEAL WITH IT and I better not tough the thermostat!!!! I assured him I had not touched anything, I just simply wanted to ask... He yelled at me that no one else had better touch it either because it would just put the heat on! Then he yelled over my head, " NEXT!" I was disgusted with him and had to let him know he needs lessons in customer service and why in the world did the reunion planners choose His facility?!!! I'm never rude but OMG, this guy heard what I though about his lack of manners and simple respect!

"There's no place like home" and when I come home for a visit, the Wine Bar is on the top of my list of places to frequent! Al and his staff make you feel like family....wonderful beers and wines to choose from...great music and lite eating fare also. Check out the comfortable "front" room for parties, receptions and the like.

The most incredible (and only) speakeasy in the Finger Lakes…read more After hours of driving, we knew we needed a cool spot to go to at night for some delicious wine. Of course, the Finger Lakes are KNOWN for wine so we're just thinking we're making reservations for a wine bar (with "speakeasy" vibes). Which that would've been totally cool with us. After continuous back and forth, changing our reservations 50 million times, adding and taking people out, we finally made it to Vinifera on a Friday night and were super apologetic since we had to make yet another change. The staff was absolutely incredible and accommodating, they made sure our party of 10 would be in the same room/table. The only "downfall" was that we'd have to share the room with another small party. Which was absolutely not a problem and we ended up being BFF'S with them by the end of the night. We met the owner Jim - the most incredible human - and he took us down to the speakeasy (which passes right through a super secretive door in the back of the main room upstairs). Side note - the main room upstairs is a vibe on it's own btw and we would've been absolutely fine and happy there. It's an actual wine store and you can purchase all kind of local wines. Be sure to ask and get all the recommendations you want. Not only did we get to enjoy an incredible time but we got a super cool VIP experience and learned the story and so much history about this place, the concept, the origin and what sparked the idea of creating it. That itself, was a treat. On to the actual speakeasy experience. When you go downstairs (through that fun super cool super secretive door) - you're instantly transported to another era, another time. It's dark, it's velvety, chandeliers, spiderwebs (the aesthetic kind, idk if there were actually any but it fit the vibe in my head), Leonardo Da Vinci, Mona Lisa, candles, curtains. There are two super cool rooms, one to the right (which is where our large party sat at) and one to the left - totally recommended for smaller groups, it's cozy, it's chill, you can interact and share with other guests too. Just by this, I'm wowed. As if this wasn't enough, the drinks were absolutely incredible. I ended up ordering some kind of a smoked drink and they happily substituted the regular old fashioned for mezcal. What a dream. Everyone was happy with their drink orders, some ordered some off the menu things and they happily made them - even though they technically only serve what's on the menu. Wine flights are also available if you're in the wine vibe. Bottom line: we loved this place SO much, we came back 2 night's later for our last night. We sat in the other room and absolutely loved and enjoyed it. I had a lavender drink and it was delish. This place is a GEM and you should absolutely check it out and support it if you're in the area. If you're not, well now you have a place I know you'll love to go to!

The guy who helped us with our tasting was very well educated on the wines and very friendly. The timing wasn't ideal, and at first, the staff member at the counter seemed hesitant to offer a tasting, expressing concern that we might not have enough time to fully enjoy the experience. Understandably, with just 20 minutes left, they didn't want to rush through what should be a relaxed, immersive tasting. However, after we reassured her that we'd be happy to share a tasting and keep things brief, her demeanor quickly shifted. She transitioned from cautious to warm, professional, and incredibly accommodating, making us feel truly welcomed despite the late hour. In moments like this, it's always great to see how much the right attitude and hospitality can enhance a wine tasting experience. The Tasting Experience We sampled five different wines, each offering something unique. Even though we were moving quickly through the tasting, we still took time to appreciate the flavors and characteristics of each pour. Ithaca Red - A Standout Favorite One wine that immediately stood out was the Ithaca Red, a dry red with bright fruit-forward notes of raspberry and strawberry jam, balanced by a medium body and a lingering spicy finish. It struck that perfect balance between vibrant acidity and smooth tannins, making it an incredibly enjoyable, easy-drinking red. It was so good that we didn't hesitate to grab two bottles to take home, ensuring we could enjoy it again later. Lemberger - A Dark, Spiced Delight Another highlight was the Lemberger, a varietal that often flies under the radar but consistently impresses me. This one had deep, rich dark fruit flavors that reminded me of ripe blackberries and plums, complemented by a lightly spiced finish. It was well-structured yet approachable, a perfect choice for those who love medium-bodied reds with a little complexity. Though those two stood out the most, every wine we sampled was well-crafted, balanced, and a true reflection of the region. A Fun Bills vs. Steelers Moment In addition to the great wine, we had an unexpected and fun football-related conversation with one of the winery's owners, who happens to be a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan. As soon as he spotted my Steelers jacket, the conversation naturally steered toward football--a classic AFC rivalry moment. We ended up chatting about the infamous Bills vs. Chiefs game (yes, that controversial first down call!), and we found some rare common ground--both agreeing that Buffalo did, in fact, get that first down. It was a fun, lighthearted exchange that added another layer of personality to the visit. Moments like this remind me why I love visiting small, locally-owned wineries--you're not just drinking wine, you're connecting with the people behind it. A Winery Worth Revisiting Despite the short timeframe, Six Mile Cellars left a lasting impression. From the quality of the wines to the friendly, engaging atmosphere, it was a great way to wrap up a full day of exploring wineries and breweries. I'd love to return with more time to spare, perhaps on a sunny afternoon when I can relax on the property, enjoy a glass of wine, and soak in the surroundings without worrying about the clock. This visit may have been brief, but it certainly won't be my last. If you're in the area and appreciate well-crafted wines, welcoming hospitality, and a little football banter, Six Mile Cellars is absolutely worth a stop. A perfect way to end an already fantastic day.
