Wine Flight

100% absolutely recommend Anyela's! The building and landscaping are stunning. I loved that there were so many different spaces with completely different ambiance's to enjoy. The staff is wonderful. The wines are delicious. We did not have food while we were there, but it looked delicious. Perfect excuse to go back! The live music was great.

Love this winery even on a rainy day. They have outdoor covered seating so it works. The landscape is beautiful. The wine is great. We all got a flight. Their prosciutto pizza was surprisingly good too.

This is a beautiful place for a wine tasting! We had our wine outside in the gazebo, but there are places to drink your wine inside as well. The outside is amazing though and professionally landscaped, so I'd recommend that. This was a little pricier than some other tastings, at $20-$25, but we also got more wine than usual, with about 6 ounces in each glass. We left with two bottles. Try it out!

A favorite winery of mine for its beautiful property, delicious wines, and tasty pizza. Come for the live music from 3-6pm on Saturdays. Love that they added sundaes to the menu!

I can review this place at least once a year, right? Their wines have only gotten better over the years, and, while pricey, you're definitely paying for the ambiance, not just the food and drinks. The charcuterie board is pretty good to split between 2-3 people, a pizza between 2-4 as it's actually huge. Live music on Saturdays 3-6, but get there by 2 if you want a seat with a good view of the band.

Wine tasting was delicious.

Visited here on my own in September & came back with my fiance in May The view of the lake is so calming & the service at the tasting counter was awesome both times! The Riesling & Senza are my favorite white wines offered. My fiance loved the Cab. We also tried their fruit liquors & decided to buy all 3 flavors! Great spot for a relaxing afternoon & they also had live music !

Two tasting flights $40!!!!

This winery has some very nice wines. All priced around $20. It has a lot of seating. I was shocked that the tastings were $20 each!!! That's the cost of a whole bottle and these were NOT generous pours! There are only 3 tasting options; Red, White and variety which had the same white and red selections. I understand it's the Skaneateles area however $20 for 5 small tastings is ridiculous! This isn't Napa! Location is not on the lake.

The employees are all wonderful, they're kind and knowledgeable. The view of the lake is breathtaking, the beautiful grape vines are a bonus as the look over the lake. The wine is tasty, I love the Albariño. They have great outdoor seating, and plenty of indoor seating in the winter.

Great place to go on a sunny afternoon. Good wine, good wine good wine. Great views. Good service.

Anyela's has beautiful grounds that overlook Skaneateles! The winery is truly beautiful, so many different places to sit outside. The wines are pretty good, their flights are nice (slightly expensive but I think you pay for the views). Limited food options like a charcuterie board, which was very average, but thats okay- not every place has to be known for their food.

I absolutely love this place and have enjoyed my visit each and every time. This winery is located a few miles outside the village of Skaneateles, located on a hill top overlooking the lake. It is a very large winery. In the summer there is a outdoor stage and plenty of outdoor seating. We have only gone in the winter, but it's still a magical place! Upon entering you will see there are 3 separate rooms for seating. To the left, there is a large room with a wine bar counter, many tables and stairs that lead to upstairs seating. To the right, there is a checkout counter, two wine bars, a retail wine area and comfortable couch area for tasting. Beyond this room is a room with tables, snack stand, and fireplace (we always sit in that room) full of windows with natural light. Now for the tasting! You can chose two options $15 gets you 4 glasses of chosen white wine or a flight or red chosen wines. For $20 you can pick 4 of whatever you want. The pours are always a great amount. You can also buy a bottle of any wine and get glasses to drink just that. For snack they have: lots of different cheese, cracks, cheese spreads, nuts, and bread. They have music sometimes inside in the winter. This place is a must try, it's perfect for a date night. We recently dragged our friends along because we like this place so much and they enjoyed it. Oh and I forgot to mention, dog friendly both inside and out!!!

My choice flight, 2 reds, 2 whites.

Beautiful location, lots of seating across a lovely landscaped area that covers acres of ground , and a wonderful selection of reds and whites.

We were soaked and slightly grumpy walking into the tasting room. But once we got inside, that all melted away. The space was warm and welcoming, and the staff got us settled right into a tasting. My girlfriend and I weren't expecting much, but the wines (especially the sweet flight) completely won us over. We sampled 10 wines in total. The Bubbly Catawba 2023 and Abby Rose were standouts - bright, playful, and so easy to enjoy. The Niagara 2023 had a similar profile, leaning a bit more grape-forward, but still refreshing. Even with the weather working against us, Lakewood made the afternoon feel special. No pretension, no pressure - just genuinely good wine and a great vibe. This spot is absolutely worth the detour, rain or shine!!

A husband and wife own this place and they couldn't have been more friendly and hospitable. They had. A nice selection of dry and some sweet wines so there was something for every taste. We each did a tasting and really enjoyed the Chardonnay and the Riesling. They also have a space here for events. It's beautiful so it's defiantly a perfect spot for that if you are in need.

We made it to the other side of the lake! Our adventure today took us to Izzo's White Barn Winery,…read morea small but welcoming spot tucked into the beautiful Finger Lakes wine region. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with a cozy, down-to-earth atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We started our tasting with their unoaked Riesling, a bright and lively wine crafted from grapes grown along the shores of Seneca Lake. It had an enticing aroma and a clean, crisp finish that really highlighted the natural fruit flavors. Next up was the LaCrescent, a white varietal that was refreshingly dry with a subtle citrusy edge and just the right amount of acidity--perfect for sipping on a cool afternoon. After that, we moved on to the Cayuga White, a semi-sweet offering that had a beautifully smooth mouthfeel and a well-balanced sweetness, making it an easy favorite for those who enjoy wines with a hint of fruit-forward character. Finally, we wrapped up our tasting with the Maréchal Foch, a deep, dry red with rich notes of black cherry and a velvety smooth finish. This one stood out as a great example of how lesser-known hybrid grapes can still deliver bold and elegant flavors. During our visit, we had the pleasure of chatting with the owner (at least, we believe it was the owner!), who shared some insight into the winery's operations. He explained that they grow three to four different grape varietals in their own vineyards, while supplementing with additional grapes sourced from other vineyards throughout the Finger Lakes region. It was clear that there's a strong sense of community among winemakers in the area--he described it as a "big happy family" that collaborates to support each other through every step of the winemaking process. One of the most interesting tidbits we learned was about the live musician performing that day--not only does he provide entertainment for visitors, but he also plays a huge role in the winemaking process, handling 80-90% of the work at the winery! It was incredible to see such a hands-on approach, where passion for both music and winemaking came together in such a unique way. As for the owner himself, he had an infectious sense of humor--quick-witted, engaging, and full of personality, he made our experience even more memorable. The winery is relatively small and appears to have limited hours, especially in the winter when it's only open on Saturdays. If I remember correctly, they may extend to two days a week during the busier months, but it's definitely one of those hidden gems that's worth navigating to if you're in the area. All in all, Izzo's White Barn Winery turned out to be a fantastic stop, offering a delightful mix of great wine, warm hospitality, and local charm. It's the kind of place where you don't just taste wine--you get to experience the heart and soul behind it.

Set sail for True Love, a truly enjoyable time!…read more Bottom Line Up Front: We had a wonderful, relaxing, and fun time for a good price. The Good: The history of the John Alden designed schooner is worth reading before you go. We had some more "salty" members of our group that recognized the name of the schooner from the 1956 movie "High Society" starring Bing Crosby, Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra and after that we were on board for a wonderful time. We even were seated in the seats once occupied by Gene and Bing. We purchased our tickets after being approached by Terry who negotiated a decent price with us because he wanted a full boat for the next trip. Captain Bill was an experienced Captain and is well known in the area. He got us underway and was a delightful host regaling us with stories about the "True Love", Seneca Lake and surroundings, as well as, some stories about racing the "True Love" and his crew, Spencer and Marena. Captain Bill even assisted another sailing boat that was in distress and precariously close to the lake edge. The trip was two hours long and on time. The crew served non-alcoholic and adult beverages (some free, some for a price) while underway and also sold some souvenirs (Whisky and glasses). The Bad: There was nothing bad, from start to finish, this was a very enjoyable trip and the crew definitely enjoyed sharing their love of the "Trie Love" with the joyful passengers. The Ugly: Absolutely nothing other than we could not be out for longer. If you find yourself in Watkins Glen, this is definitely an enjoyable to kick back, relax, and let the wind fill your sails. They say a picture is worth 1000 words, so I am going to end my post with a few that we snapped along the way. May you have fair winds, and following lake waters!

An absolute highlight of my trip to the Fingerlakes!…read more We were a large bachelorette party looking for an afternoon at a winery. This place was chosen for both the proximity to our Air BnB and also because it was more affordable then some of the other vineyards in the area. I will say with certainty that this place was the best part of our trip! The vineyard has a small but suitable selection of wines to taste - you can see my photo for the menu available at the time. Reservations are not taken on the weekends, but we were able to walk in with relatively no crowds. However, by the time we left, it was packed! All of us opted for a flight - which, for the prince, how could you go wrong? The staff was incredibly pleasant and attentive, and they TRULY knew their products. They weren't afraid to say, "I don't think you'll like this [based on your tastes], try this instead." In addition, they had a selection of local cheesed and meats for purchase, so we were able to have a wonderful charcuterie with our wines. After purchasing, we sat on their deck and simply enjoyed being outside with the scenic view. Truly, it looked like it was taken out of a movie - I felt like I was looking at a scenic photo in a dentist office or something, but in the best way! We are so proud to support a local business like this. If I'm ever in the area, I will be sure to add this vineyard to my stops!
