Long Point Winery is situated on a hill overlooking beautiful Cayuga lake. We went in for a tasting, on a Thursday and everyone that works there is so nice. Compared to some of the huge wineries that cater to parties, this place is serene and the wines are extremely good. I like a dry reds and the finger lakes may not always be viewed as the best place for those but the Long point winery has a few very good wines. Their Barbara is award-winning and is just delicious! I ended up buying a couple of bottles of that and a couple of bottles of Sauvignon Blanc...very light and smooth. I will return with friends. read more

A dog friendly winery located close to Aurora and the MacKenzie Child's store. We stayed at an AirBnb close by, so Long Point was the perfect winery for us to visit. They have Adirondack chairs and picnic tables that look out to Cayuga Lake. Even though the winery is not located directly by the lake, its elevated views are still quite serene. I'm no wine connoisseur, but I enjoyed their wines a lot. Per the employee, they are more well known for their reds, but I actually enjoyed their white wines more. I really liked their 2017 Sauvignon Blanc. It was dry and fruity, without being overly sweet. Prefect for a warm summer day. I also liked their 2017 Semi-dry Riesling and ended up buying a bottle. As for their reds, I liked their Sangiovese and I think it would pair nicely with some Italian red sauce. Overall, a good if you're in the Cayuga Lake area (east side). read more

Our visit was amazing - from the friendly, upbeat knowledgeable staff, to the beautiful grounds & scenery, to the award winning wines! The winery is following COVID rules and requirements. I wish I could give 3.5 stars, but anytime you get wine in a plastic cup it just doesn't do it justice. Wines were good and people were very nice. Crackers were stale. I have visited Long Point Winery on two occasions with two different groups of friends. The first time was in May, where we had a tasting, ate some very good sandwiches and sat outside and enjoyed the mindblowing vistas. The second time was in October, and we also did a tasting and spent a bit less time outside since it was colder. However, we had to walk around outside because, as I said earlier, the view is FANTASTIC. The wines themselves were very well executed. I purchased several bottles of the Vidal Blanc. Friendly and knowledgeable pourers. Between the quality wine, the well executed sandwiches and (most notably) the incredibly open views, Long Point is a must-visit if you are in the area. read more

During Covid and winter, this venue is small, so I suggest calling ahead to get reservations. That aside, this was such a warm and welcoming establishment. The winery was just a couple minutes up the road from the Air BnB that we were staying in, so we stopped in for a drink. The owner personally went out of his way to get a table for us and got us set up with samples and snacks. During our visit we got to meet Lissy, the winery's golden retriever who's beyond sweet and friendly. The entire wait staff was incredibly attentive and made this experience enjoyable. I sampled multiple reds, had a glass, and took a few bottles home. Stop in here, grab a glass of wine and take in the views! Wine suggestion: get the Rubitage!!!! read more

Nice variety of reds. It's hard to make decent red in fingerlake region. But this place has various reds and dry whites. Very simple tasting room with nice open vineyard space. Ross who helped us has such a great personality, we felt so comfortable to try things and share our opinion. He was very knowledgable about wines as well. We got few bottles of reds from there. We weren't expecting to find a red wine we liked in the area and so we were pleasantly surprised by Long Point! They do bring in California grapes which helps, but we ended up taking home their estate grown cab franc. The area for check-in was very small, and the flow was extremely slow. So guests were crowded in the front, yet the owner blamed the guests for not keeping social distances. Also, they said leashed dogs were allowed, but their own Golden Retriever barked at our well-behaved small dog like nonstop. The owner basically kicked us out, saying their dogs were there to stay so we had to go. The interaction made us feel uncomfortable and disrespected. We had a nice wine tasting experience there 4 years ago so we returned. Unfortunately, the owner didn't have enough EQ to handle situations like these. We turned around and went to Treleaven Wines only 5-minute down the road. The flow was well designed and the outdoor space nicely furnished. We had a great time enjoying their Riesling and apple wine with friendly services at Treleaven. Will never go to Long Point Winery again. read more

Amazing wines with an insane view! The tasting room staff is super nice and if you're lucky you'll get to meet Lizzie their lovable golden retriever! I hate to say this about this place but this is just a stop, sip and maybe grab lunch to-go from here if you're hungry (they do make sandwiches here) and move on kind of winery. The layout was a bit strange.. you have a bar area on one side and one little table across for tasting that managed to fit 6 of us, squeezing us together elbows to elbows. The staff were unwelcoming and rushed us through our tasting session. After the tastings, we decided to have lunch here at the tasting table since the bar was already filled with a bachelorette party. And due to the unpredictable weather forecast, we were stuck here because of a terrible downpour. At some point, there was a guy who came over to our group, pointing outside at the picnic table under a flimsy tent while it was raining, perhaps for more space or just for us to get out of the way. No thanks! The food was pretty decent here nevertheless. It's roughly $10 and I got a massive size Italian Grilled Cheese that came with chips and pickles on the side. read more

We were lucky enough to stay close by at a lake house on Cayuga. All of the staff were friendly and helpful during our wine tasting. All the wines were very good. Very clean and well kept. We then decided to get sandwiches from the deli that were very delicious and fresh. The views from the winery overlooking Lake Cayuga are definitely picture worthy. We also brought our dog with us and they were accommodating when it came to allowing us to bring him. Great time to be had here!! read more

The wines here are good, but here's the thing - I don't remember anything specific about any of them, that were that unmemorable to me. I hadn't had anything to drink before coming here, as we stopped here on a whim on our drive back home the morning we left Ithaca after our 3 day/2 night trip there to get one last winery in. The tasting room was a little small, but the outside grounds were quite expansive. I really appreciated that they had a big tent covering outside with a number of picnic tables so that you could sit outside with some wine and food and enjoy the view. The tasting room staff were friendly enough, but there was something not quite as welcoming to me as other places I had been to. Maybe that was just my impression/experience. We didn't have a chance to try the food here, as the sandwich place is only open certain days. Overall, my experience here was just average, and I highly doubt I will come back or recommend this place to anyone else. read more

This was the second stop on our wine tasting boat tour. It's a little out of the way on the east side of Cayuga Lake but totally worth the trip. We enjoyed several of their wines and purchased a bottle of Vidal Blanc. The sandwiches are top notch and it was some of the best macaroni salad I've ever tasted. My wife and I purchased some wine and cheese curds from the store and spent some time enjoying the fantastic view. Definitely take some time to relax here. Across the street is a barn.
