My boyfriend and I were in the area and had 15 minutes to kill before getting to our next location. We decided to stop here for a glass of wine and enjoy the views. I enjoyed the area and the scenery while sipping on our wine and laughing from our conversation. Nothing is better than drinking wine with the one you love.

Shaded tree area at front or property
    Is A.

dog friendly inside and outside. Nice shaded area under trees at from of property. Big welcoming deck in the back that is also shaded and overlooking the vineyard and lake. Only downside is there is only one restroom for everyone so lines form when at busy times during the day.

Worth skipping. The wine is awful. The flamingo was the worst. The dry wine was rather sweet. It was not smooth at all. The staff were nice but a little over the top. At times it felt like we were thrust into a play. I prefer a conversational feel with the serving staff, but that was lacking. It was clearly scripted, and felt forced. The only saving grace is how kind they were to the older local gentleman who comes in regularly and had his own bottle. That was a nice community touch.

Where do I begin? Ambiance? General feel? Delectable wine or the clean kind atmosphere? All of which were an A+ but what sets Leidenfrost apart from the plethora of wineries that we visited in a day..... the service did. Bre, the wine server was a far stretch above just a server. Smart, funny, active and attentive. A++++ to Leidenfrost for not just bottling great wine, but also casting the same idealism that they use on their wine to hire fantastic service. Here's to you Leidenfrost, here's to you Bre.

Love the place. Small, neat, homey and has very personal service. The servers were knowledgeable . All of their wines are affordable. My husband bought me a glass of rose wine that I enjoyed in the deck. Beautiful view of the winery and the lake from their deck. I fell in love with what I have tasted, the sweetest in their selections...the log cabin rose. Of course, I bought a bottle on my way out.

Best winery in the Finger Lakes!

My favorite Finger Lakes winery. Spectacular views from the deck and fantastic wines which occasionally stray just a bit from the norms that I've come to expect from NY wines... which is a good thing. The Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the few NY reds that I really love. I'm also not really a Chardonnay person but theirs is really excellent. Their people make it extra special with a real knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for their wine. Connor did a great job with our tasting today. The bigger wineries have fun tasting experiences but this small, family winery is special... Because they make you feel like part of the family.

Comparing to the wineries next door, Leidenfrost has Very friendly staffs and very generous portion for wine tasting. They also have mimosa and other cocktails. For $3 you could taste almost half glass of 6 wines ( including some slightly more expensive port wine. ) and of course, you could have as manu peanuts as you want. The view is gorgeous and dont miss the terrace overlooking the seneca lake.

I loved visiting Leidenfrost!! I was just in Napa a few weeks ago and tastings ran $30-50 in almost every winery I looked at...so learning that tastings here were $3 for 6 pours was GREAT. The staff were super friendly (maybe it's because they were drinking with us..) but they honestly made genuine efforts to walk us through the different types of wines at Leidenfrost, made sure that we never spent too long without attention, and were really helpful in picking out wines that we liked, and there was never any pressure to buy anything. The tasting fee is waived if you buy bottles- buy 6 and get the 7th free or buy 12 to get 25% off. The winery itself has a beautiful view of Seneca Lake, and a nice deck out back for anyone in your group not tasting (though people who aren't tasting can get soda/water for free too!) and this place is dog friendly!!! Like forreal though- the staff were elated to see my family's dog walk in, and offered her treats and water and really loved her. Good wines, awesome staff, nice views, great winery!!

They are one of the few wineries that also serve food, so its a great place to grab lunch. The sandwiches we got were amazing (the Brooklyn and the Cuban). I would give the deli and bakery a 5/5. The attached winery was okay. They only do tastings at the bar, not at the table (at least when we were there). It was pretty empty.

Our next winery stop was Tabora, nestled along Seneca Lake. We were fortunate to have Keith as our…read moreserver, and he may have been one of the most remarkable people I've met in quite some time. His deep knowledge and passion shone through as he shared the rich history of the winery. The owners originally purchased land in Bucks County for farming but later moved to the Finger Lakes region, where they expanded into winemaking, a bakery, and a deli--a true craft-driven endeavor. Tabora was offering a special deal: buy one tasting flight, get the second free. Normally, I gravitate toward the drier the better, but the Winemaker's Jam caught my eye. My flight included: 1. 2021 Pinot Noir 2. 2021 Cabernet Franc 3. N.V. Heritage Noir 4. 2021 Maréchal Foch I started with the Pinot Noir, a light-bodied wine with aromas of cherry blossoms, strawberries, and dried fruit--absolutely sensational. Keith explained that all of Tabora's wines age in used French oak barrels but never for more than 18 months. Instead of prolonged oak aging, they transition the wine to stainless steel, preserving freshness while imparting just a touch of oak influence. Next up was the Cabernet Franc, which had soft tannins, a light body, and notes of raspberry and green bell pepper, with a slight oak finish--and wow, it was good. Then came my hands-down favorite: the Heritage Noir, a blend of different wines that was dry yet bursting with layered fruit flavors. It was truly an incredible experience on the palate. Finally, I sampled the Maréchal Foch, a sensational, jammy wine with hints of blackberry and pomegranate and a beautifully smooth finish. But Keith wasn't done yet--he had me try a few more, including an unoaked Cabernet Franc, which became another favorite. Aged 100% in stainless steel, it was bright with red fruit, hints of cherry, vanilla, and a touch of chocolate on the finish. Beyond the wines, Keith himself was a standout. As we sipped, he shared his life journey--from New York to Hawaii, a path shaped by his mother and sister. His stories were captivating, and if he ever writes a book, I'd be the first in line to read it. Cheers to Keith and Tabora for an unforgettable experience! #fingerlakes

Last year, Red Newt offered RV guests a buy one get one "tasting"... which I found out is not the same as a "flight". The serve told me I could try again. During that visit we sampled some good wines, so we knew we wanted to try it again. On this visit the service was very prompt and the place was not busy on this visit compared to the summer. During our initial visit the employee at the tasting counter first seemed annoyed that we wanted to taste wine an hour before they closed (The attitude improved when we said we were buying a couple cases).  The view is amazing from the large deck and dining area. One could sit on the deck and sip vino all afternoon. As with many wineries on the Finger Lakes their wines tend to lean to the less dry/sweeter side, but we did find some very tasty medium reds and red blends. The lunch offerings were simple, but very delicious. They offer a variety of sandwiches, burgers, and shareable items. One thing that stood out was their Hellbender-balsamic onion jam that they make inhouse. It was so tasty that my wife inquired about purchasing some to take home.  We look forward to returning at our next stay at the RV Resort.

We did not have a reservation, but easily found ourselves a spot at the bar. It was a pretty rainy and crummy day, but even though a few other couples had the same idea as us to hit a winery to avoid the rain, we did not feel crowded in the space at all. The winery is certainly one of the most well decorated spots we visited. They really lean into the barnstormer and plane vibes, with appropriate decor in every facet of the interior. It was very tastefully done and gave the winery a certain fun and unique vibe. We were seated at the bar for our tasting. The bar was quite large, holding a number of different couples but giving us all adequate space to spread out, have a few glasses in front of us, and not cloud the others' conversations. You could chose from a few different preselected tastings, and I opted for a mixed red and white tasting while my husband opted for the all red tasting. My husband enjoyed all of his, particularly liking the merlot. I enjoyed the whites in my tasting more than the red (I had a weird after taste from one of them which tainted the red experience for me), favoring the chardonnay of all things (I am not a chard gal). We appreciated how our server engaged with us, telling us a bit about each wine but also navigating hte entire bar without lingering too long in one place. She answered our many questions about the wine, being knowledgable but also approachable. We had a great time and enjoyed our wines. Barnstormer was a great rec from our various servers etc while in the Finger Lakes - while the wines themselves may not be at my top, the vibe and service did stand out. That being said, we did take a bottle home with us, so I'm looking forward to enjoying that on a special occasion!
