Views from Adirondacks

Boundary Breaks was one of the highlights of my 24 hours in the Finger Lakes. The wine overall was good--not the best I've ever had--but the rosé was absolutely to die for. Definitely a must-try and worth grabbing a bottle to take home. What really made the visit special was the atmosphere. Sitting out on the Adirondack chairs with a glass of wine, soaking in the lake views, was hands down my favorite moment of the trip. It's peaceful, scenic, and just a great place to relax. They're also incredibly dog-friendly, which I loved. They had water bowls for your pup, a small dog park area, and even a friendly winery dog that roams around greeting guests. My dog was so content, which made the experience even better. The lady who served me was so sweet and had great pairing recommendations as well! If you're in the area and looking for a laid-back spot with beautiful views and a killer rosé, this is the place.

Amazing winery on the finger lakes. I have been a member for 3 years now. My bf and I enjoy coming here every June and pick up a bunch of wine and sample their new wines as well. Dog friendly, beautiful scenery, and some of the best rieslings and gewurtztraminer in the area. No added sugar! The owner Bruce and his employees are very nice people always and try to accommodate us. I bought a group of friends here this year and they all enjoyed it very much. Thank you for a good experience every year!

We came here at the end of our Saturday wine adventure and enjoyed the last of the sun from their excellent patio/overlook. We were greeted by the owner with a friendly run down of where we could taste and enjoy, and handed off to the server under a tent. The set up is basic, but we loved their approach to sweet vs fruity and helping you find the wine you like most. Friendly staff, accessible approach, and beautiful views.

Grab a bottle of wine, some cheese and head out to the patio overlooking the Seneca lake. The patios are individual party with seating for 2-4. Great view with 100's of yards or frontage.

Boundary Breaks tasting house is a beautiful modern farmhouse building. The tasting room itself has displays explaining several aspects of the region and their winemaking process. We went mid April during a freak warm steak and they had taken the time to prepare their extensive outdoor area with Adirondack chairs, tables and umbrellas.

The views of the lake are gorgeous. And the wine was great. Collectively, our group sampled everything on the menu and enjoyed each one. The overall quality here is easily among the best on the lake. The service was also great. Rich was quirky and fun and gave us excellent background on the wine varieties we sampled. I would definitely recommend.

The first time I was here was in the fall of 2017 when I was participating in a Seneca Lake Wine Trail event. Finally five years later, we stopped here when my boyfriend and I were in the area visiting another winery. I had no idea Boundary Breaks had such an amazing outside area. When you come in the cold, you don't get the same experience as in the summer. The Finger Lakes are amazing to go to at all times of the year, but you can't beat the summer experience. The hostess seated us and there were two chairs and a couple side tables and a breathtaking view of the lake and vineyards. Our server was extremely friendly, Margaret, and explained the situation to us. We ordered flights, because there was so much I wanted to try. We also ended up getting a couple glasses as well and left with a bottle of wine. Dogs are welcomed at this winery, which is always a treat to see pups. When I'm in the Finger Lakes, I really enjoy looking at the view and sipping a glass of wine. This winery has made it to the list of places I like to lounge at.

This is our second visit to this winery and first in 5 years. I wanted to stop the last time but we passed it up. So much has changed in 5 years since we last visited the winery. The place has expanded in size both inside and outside, and the process has changed from the way we remember it. Including myself as a wine maker, and graduate at Cornell University with a certificate in ecology. Which 5 years ago I would have never thought this would be a path that I'd be following, but life takes us on mysterious journeys. If you're a wine enthusiast seeking an extraordinary tasting experience in the Finger Lakes, look no further than Boundary Breaks. This hidden gem has truly raised the bar for wineries in the region, offering a unique and boundary-breaking adventure for your taste buds. From the moment you step onto the property, you're greeted by breathtaking views of the vineyards and Seneca Lake, creating a picturesque setting that enhances the overall experience. The staff's warm welcome and genuine passion for their craft set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable visit. The tasting room is cozy and inviting, with large windows that allow you to take in the stunning scenery while savoring each sip. What sets Boundary Breaks apart is their commitment to showcasing the potential of Riesling in the Finger Lakes. The variety of Rieslings they offer is impressive, and each one tells a unique story of the vineyard's terroir and the winemaker's expertise. One of the highlights of our visit was the guided tasting experience. The knowledgeable staff took the time to explain the nuances of each wine, providing insights into the winemaking process and the characteristics that make Boundary Breaks wines stand out. It's evident that they take great pride in their craft and are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the Finger Lakes wine region. The tasting flights feature a well-curated selection of wines, allowing you to explore different vintages and styles. Whether you're a seasoned wine connoisseur or a novice looking to expand your palate, there's something for everyone at Boundary Breaks. Beyond the exceptional Rieslings, the winery offers other varietals that showcase the diversity of their portfolio. The red wines, in particular, demonstrate the winemaker's skill in producing well-balanced and flavorful options. To top it all off, the staff's hospitality and willingness to answer questions make the experience even more enjoyable. It's clear that they are passionate about sharing their love for wine with visitors, creating an atmosphere that is both educational and entertaining. In conclusion, Boundary Breaks is a must-visit destination for wine lovers exploring the Finger Lakes. The combination of breathtaking views, exceptional wines, and a welcoming atmosphere make it a standout winery in the region. Prepare to have your taste buds delighted and your expectations exceeded - this is a boundary-breaking experience you won't soon forget! I can't wait until we come back in February, one thing that we said is that we will come back to the finger lakes every 3-6 months. So much more to explore and it starts here.

Great place for dogs. Super dog friendly. Excellent tasting options. Air conditioned room inside to try a glass or purchase your bottles. Lots of shaded sitting area outdoors overlooking the lake.

Spectacular! I can not wait to visit this winery again! The greeting was super friendly and we had no reservation yet were treated like we did. The quaint winery is beautifully decorated with a long bar, spacious area, and clean. We were seated outside in Adirondack chairs with the most amazing view of the lake, it was beautiful. First off we were given menus, then served water. Choose a flight or a glass of wine, both were great! I enjoyed tasting the different wines and got a feel for the winemakers style. We chose the cheese and bread basket which was fresh and delicious and she even wrapped up the cheese we didn't finish to take home. Would highly recommend this winery if you are in the finger lakes area.

We came here on recommendations from a coworker of mine, and we were not disappointed! The view of the lake and ambiance here is unbeatable. Definitely fell in love with the view and feel of the place here. The owner's dog is the most adorable and gentle dog ever and comes up to greet you. It's a great place to come with your own dog too. They are very well known for their Rieslings here. We did a tasting flight and our favorite was definitely the Riesling bubbly dry. You have to try it! I love their diagram explanations of how sweet and dry their wines are. After doing the tasting, we went inside and grabbed a couple bottles of the Riesling bubbly dry. We came here early and got seats very easily. Could only imagine when the weather is even nicer and how crowded it could get! Staff wore masks at all time. The place was pristine clean. Everything was so spaced out. Definitely felt COVID safe! I absolutely recommend coming!

Even though we've been to the Fingerlakes many times, this was the first visit to Boundary breaks. From now on, it'll be on the agenda for every wine tasting trip. Not only was the service superior, but the view of the lake was great and the wines were among the best we tried, especially the Rieslings. The outdoor seating with umbrellas makes you feel like you're on the beach! Next time we'll come hungry so we can add some food to our wine tasting experience. As an added bonus, they offer free car chargers for EVs. We took advantage to charge our PHEV while enjoying our wine tasting. You do need to create an account on Evoke in order to use the charging stations.

Moments after arriving he introduced himself by telling us how tremendously educated he is regarding wine. He told us he was an author and an expert on the region and much much more. And no doubt he is and provided a lot of facts and interesting anecdotes. But welcoming he wasn't, quite the opposite. He introduced the tasting experience by telling us that we would be able to taste five wines. I chose most of the ones he recommended but not all of them and commented that I was sure he'd let me taste the 6th if I wanted as every other place certainly does that. Not john, John was insulted that I didn't leverage his brilliance. Not only did I not get a sixth to taste, but the pours I got were half of everybody else's. A wine host should be friendly and accommodating and do everything they can to help you enjoy the experience, and recommend it to others, and come back, and purchase wine. Because of John's pompous attitude he failed on every one of those. We will not be back.
