Interesting haunted historical home and gorgeous property that doubles as a winery with ties to the Underground Railroad. The only winery with a boat dock, they have really interesting history and everyone here was friendly. We came in between seasons after the winter when everything in the northeast is mild of meh. But during the summer, spring and fall the grounds are probably gorgeous. Inside it is decorated like a home and is unique and inviting. I enjoyed a wine tasting and it was pretty good. Not quite dry enough for my taste but I was happy to try something new. Make sure to look for the ghost when you visit. read more

This was our last stop on our crush wine tour and what a fun experience it was. Our group was a little rowdy by this point so there was a bit of sass going on during our wine and cider tastings and the guides dished the sass back, which we all enjoyed. I opted for the sweeter wines tasting and found a favorite there. After the wine tasting the lead you outside to a cute patio area. Here they have not only wines but also mixed drinks which I highly recommend because they were delicious. we ended up meeting the owner who gave us the backstory which was a fun ad to the experience, and he mentioned walking down to the dock area. The dock is located down a steep hill. When you're walking down, you can't really see it so we thought it was this tiny little dock over on another property but it ended up being stunningly beautiful area to sit and relax and enjoy your drink. They shared a few stories with us and also the history of the land. We tried to buy the property for $12,000 which is what they paid for it initially, but we were shot down. If we're back in the area, we would definitely come back and buy a few bottles. Unfortunately, there were no ghost during our visit. read more

We came on a Crush wine tour. We chose the option of having a glass of wine on the waterfront deck. I only tried the unoaked Chardonnay and the Rosé. Both were perfect porch pounders for a 90 degree day and I brought home two bottles of each. The views by the lake were stunning and the ghost history made for a fun day. read more

When u step I side, its a self guided wine flight, but a young lady gives the history of the place, which is very interesting as it is entertaining! Miles winery is known for being a haunted winery, which is the reason for our visit. We arrived 45 minutes before closing and had to wait 10-15 minutes before being seated, as they do not take reservations. It took quite some time for our table to be wiped down, so I'm docking off one star for that. They also require you to order food which is kind of a turn off as their menu is limited and of the package kind. As for the wines, they are pretty horrendous. Having said all that, the view is amazing and you can also sit on the dock. read more

We turned off the road spontaneously and found ourselves here. Great call by my husband who was driving. This was an excellent stop. We walked down to the boat house on the lake and had it almost to ourselves. It was so peaceful and pretty! On my travels along the seneca wine trail , I visited miles, they had a variety of dry red wines like cab franc, milestone, and treasure port.They also have dry whites like unoaked chardonnay, dry riesling, and the one that intrigued me ghost, since miles was listed on the haunted history trail I had to try it. It was a light , crisp and refreshing chardonnay, so of course I bought a bottle to take home.Last they have the sweeter wines such as cache, coasting and call me a cab.I enjoyed the beautiful scenery and will definitely be back.They also make a very tasty wine slushy. read more

I found this winery on a list of spots that are a must visit when doing your wine tour. Bare in mind there are over 30 which surround the lake so you might need to be discerning. I agree that Miles is a must stop. The first draw? This winery has access to the lake. Up close and personal. They have a bar and seating for a picnic right on the lake. No charge. Check my photos below. This spot was beautiful and I would imagine that in the fall it is truly breathtaking. I am betting many wedding proposals have occurred in this spot :) After a substantial climb up from the lake the tasting room is inside a fairly cramped area. The offer six one ounce pours for 6 dollars. I did find a couple that were worthy of purchase. I grabbed two bottles of the "Ghost" that was a very balanced and refreshing white wine. Whether you are there for the scenery or the wine this spot earned my vote as a must visit. If you are looking to score bonus points with the lady head down to the bar on the dock! read more

Miles is somewhere you want to expect to spend a little more time at. The location and facility is gorgeous. A large willow tree, a dock, the lake, a big beautiful white mansion...amazing. They have something, literally, for everyone. Beers, wines, hard liquor, and ciders. I got the beer flight and while I'm not normally a beer drinker I didn't mind any of them. I honestly wish I could pick and choose what I wanted to try from all the lists but they have set lists for your flight. Which is a bummer, but it's just how they do it and thats fine. Our server was super nice and friendly. Not pushy at all and knowledgeable. You can take a photo at the willow tree and walk down to the dock and entire a drink. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because we couldn't sit outside nor inside and they have port a potties for their bathrooms. You'd think a place this immaculate would have real bathrooms. read more

This old mansion right on the shores of Seneca Lake is different from all the other wineries on this lake due to the house and location. On a warm day this would make for a great picnic spot but not on the cold, windy Saturday we visited. The tasting space is very limited due to this being squeezed into this haunted old manor. We were lucky enough to have one of the third generation owners pouring our wine so not only did we learn about their wine but their history and their part in the local wine industry. Went to Miles Wine Cellars on Saturday afternoon. Even though I found the wines to be of a good quality and I loved the waterfront area, all the other serious issues are impossible to ignore. Quality: I left Miles Wine Cellars confused and disappointed despite having some good wine during my visit. So many aspects of their setup were baffling and made what could have been a unique and fun trip instead strange and uncomfortable. When we entered they placed a massive menu in front of us with six tasting options, which included wines, beers, ciders, and spirits. They only make wine and some spirits, so I don't understand at all why they felt the need to conduct beer and cider tastings too. After rushing us through a tasting, during which our guide poured two wines in the wrong order and then told us it actually doesn't matter the order, I was ready to get out of there. Again, a shame because the 2019 Lemberger was a very good wine, which I enjoyed much more as a glass outside. Quantity: The Wine Flight came with four very small pours. The Glass was generous, but the plastic cup led to spillage. Value: $7 for a Wine Flight. $6 for a Glass Of Wine. Ambiance: Miles Wine Cellars is located right on the west side of Seneca Lake. As a result of a supposed haunted history, they have largely left the aged main building the same. This is a mistake, as it is setup all wrong for tasting room purposes. Three separate rooms with no natural flow caused a constant traffic jam inside. Also, the carpets need to go. I don't care if it is protecting the hardwood or keeping it quieter, the stench was terrible. The building also has the porch on the west side, preventing any view of the water. That said, they have a path to a small beachfront area with several chairs, as well as a boathouse on the dock. This feature made the struggles in the building a little more worth it. Crowd: It felt busier than it was because of the restrictive layout inside. There is no natural flow in the building, so individuals bunch up all over the place. Service: The glare I got when I asked a question about the wine was extremely memorable. Despite having six different flight options, or maybe because of it, the woman behind the counter had no interest in pleasantries or conversation. She wanted us in and out. Her comment on no reason for the order of our wines when pouring a port before a dry red also left a significant impression. Parking: Large parking lot at the entrance of the property. read more

Such a fun spot! Very simple setup, don't expect a full cafe or an in depth tasting experience. You can purchase a tasting or wine by the bottle/glass, as well as some snack options. We were able to take our cups of wine (served in plastic cups) down to the dock on the property. The view was unbelievable, and the dogs from the vineyard come down to say hi! The outside of this location is gorgeous. There is a huge weeping willow in the front, where the trunk appeared to be 8 feet in diameter. The tree reminded me of Grandmother Willow from Pocahontas. It was a cold day, so the tasting by the dock was not available. As you enter, you approach the tasting bar. The bar is not that long, and can accommodate about 8-10 guests. Our server was pretty friendly, but didn't establish a great rapport with us. I was excited to visit this location, as my Mother is really into spiritual stuff, especially ghosts. When the server was pouring, my mom was trying to pull information out of the server about the ghost, but the server just gave a few word responses. The wines at Miles were way too sweet for my taste. Even the drier reds I was not particularly fond of. read more

Miles is tucked in along the lake with a nice overlook. It's basically a converted mansion -- its age is evident. It looks much like a southern plantation. It's also apparently haunted (by nice ghosts, I suppose). The highlight here might be their Wisteria wine smoothie. It was like boozy cotton candy. They shuffled our group in pretty quickly. I understand that it's tough to make a large group work for a smaller tasting room, but it felt like a speed tasting. I wish I was able to enjoy it a bit more. The lady had us in and out in what felt like 10 minutes. I barely had enough time to finish my 1st pour before she was coming around with the next. This round we sampled both beer and wine (2 brews & 3 wines). Tasting highlights: - I wish I could say more about the beer, but I didn't have enough time to savor it. I suppose then it was forgettable. One was a fall seasonal so it was ill fitting for Feb. - Call me cab -- sweet and smoky. - Ghost -- coolest label ever! Shine a light through it and the ghost appears. Creative, but not one I'd drink on the regular. - Wisteria = wine smoothie material. It was obviously sweet, but I think I could enjoy at least one of those during the summer months. One of the better wine smoothies I've had from the FLX region. I'd like to come back in the spring/summer to take in the experience for more than 15 minutes. read more

Meh, about says it all. We stopped here for the beer tasting since they market themselves as a winery and brewer. We ended up here more about ghosts than beer or wine. I can't say anything about the wine since I only tried the beer. It was ok. They don't actually brew it, they send a recipe to a local craft brewer. The had 2 of "their own" beers and 2 from the brewer on but only actually had 3 total beers left when we arrived. It definately felt more like an event space/gift shop than a wine/beer maker. Also they are actually a long ways down the cross street from where their address shows up in GPS. Just turn where is says they are and keep following the road. There isn't much signage. read more

All of the wines that we've tried here were very good. I think this was our first winery we purchased 4 bottles of wine at. The whites and reds were good. This place was $5 for wine tastings and you got to keep the glass. We shared a wine tasting here. They have a small bar on the water that is opened until 4 pm for those who want to drink wine on the water. In addition it's a inn as well. Very nice place to visit. read more

The wine maker Evan poured our tastings and comped the tasting fee as I work in the industry. What a breathtaking view! The winery itself is a huge old house reminiscent of a large plantation. But what really makes it gorgeous is that it sits up on the hill overlooking the lake. With the fall foliage it just secured the top spot as the most beautiful place we visited. Ironically though, it wasn't my favorite winery in terms of set up or products. Being an old house, it was really tiny and hard to navigate from one tiny room to another. I just expected it to be a lot nicer considering the beautiful land they own. Must have sun all the mola into the property! At this one we were excited to see a beer tasting. Being a fan of beer as well, I figured I'd take a break from the wine and sample some brews. For $6 you can try three beers, served in a wine glass you can keep (it's real glass, not plastic, so it's a nice keepsake). We were able to try the Callisto Pale Ale, Scottish Lure Ale and the Bonfire Brew. I was not a fan of the Callisto, but it was hoppy, and I'm not a fan of hops, so you can blame it on that. The Harvest I was most excited about, because I love seasonal brews (especially the fall ones) but this fell flat. I was expecting WAY more spice. Like WAY more. I hardly tasted any. So that was a bummer. But I did like the Scottish Lure Ale. Not enough to buy a pint, but it was the best choice out of them all. A fun detail is that they offer wine slushie's. Um, hello, that's awesome! So of course I had to get one! I used my wine cup I squired from the tasting and filled on up for $5. It was based on one of their red wines, sorry the name is escaping me, but it was delish! Very refreshing. The absolute best part of this place is the outdoor area. We were able to enjoy a picnic by the water. They have a couple picnic tables scattered about so we were able to nab one and sit and enjoy the nice fall day. We were able to bust out our pre-packed cheese, crackers and of course a little wine and enjoy the company and food. Scary Factor: Outhouse. If you're eating and drinking this is bad. read more
