The people were very very RUDE and they judge you right when you walk up to the door. If you are talking to your friend between tasting, they skip over you even after you paid for hat tasting. If you don't listen to the story the guy is says he gets nasty. They didn't even give me a sampling of the wine I picked! What kind of winery is this?! This was a solid meh for me. Tom was very friendly and inviting as a host. He listened and engaged with our small group of 4 and even remembered tid bits about us with 12 other people in the room. He himself earned this review an additional star. The wine was as you'd expect from a small winery like this... Nothing special but adequate. The ghost bottle is the attraction here, very clever marketing gimmick. The winery sits on one of the most attractive spots of any of the wineries we visited in the area. I would not go out of my way to come back nor would I make a point to share this winery with friends/family/fellow drinkers. Nice to keep the glass but pours are rather skimpy. read more

TERRIBLE service. Reserved a wine tasting for a party, we were the only ones there. The lady poured each glass as quick as possible, barely giving us time to finish each glass. We loved this place! The winery is right on Lake Seneca and you get a gorgeous view of the water and surrounding areas from the winery grounds. The building itself is beautiful and it is a very picturesque setting. The wines they have are very good and the ghost wine was particularly yummy (not to mention the bottle has a silhouette of a woman that will project when lit from the back). They also have wine slushies and 2 very good beers on tap. We really liked this winery and the staff were very kind and eager to educate the customers about their wines and the building's history (supposedly haunted, hence the ghost wine). Overall, it's a great place and a great place to visit! read more

On it's way to being great, I would say. We visited on my DD day, so I can't comment on the beer/wine. I know that my husband raved about the beer, particularly the mix of the two. It was $3 for the tasting, but our guy threw in the half-and-half mix and a bit of the slushy on the house. You get to keep the glass, too. He also told us about the history of the house (and the hauntings) which was really interesting. Another great thing about Miles is that they have lake access. I hadn't touched a drop of Seneca Lake until we went there. It seemed like they were building a tasting room on the dock, so I'm hoping that will be done when we return next year. Oh, and they also have a little cafe in the back. I didn't try anything, but the double chocolate cookies looked awesome. read more

It is a great value that's for sure. The building is cool from the outside ... on the inside the tasting room and shop definitely need some TLC. The tasting room is very small and so is the shop, they also need some better choices in the gift shop area. You do get a free glass with your tasting which was a nice touch! read more

Beautiful grounds and view, this family-owned and operated winery/ brewery was our favorite on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. Dressed in old-timely attire, Evan Miles truly did service to his craft! A former educator at Cornell University and creator of much of what we tasted, we not only enjoyed everything we sipped but also the stories he weaved into our time there! First, this place is gorgeous! I mean absolutely gorgeous! I was the only person there and it was a Wednesday so their tasting bar down by the water wasn't open, but it looked like an awesome place to drink some wine. Inside the tasting room was cute. We tried a bunch of their wines all which were pretty good. One thing that stood out about this place to me was the champagne on draft- how cool! Some of their wines, that they said were dry were a little too sweet for me. The guy at the bar was super nice and totally friendly. I wish I could give this place no stars, because that is what it deserves. We planned an amazing trip for my sisters bachelorette and instead we were stuck tasting wine while rude, uptight workers stared us down. One worker in particular, clarice, had the audacity to call my sister "unclassy." Meanwhile she had on a see-through shirt and hid in the corner when asked to apologize. This winery also resorts to false-advertising, due to the fact that their website says they have food when they really don't. Nor do they allow any fun, talking, or basically breathing. I went to Miles Wine Cellars on 8/13/14 while vacationing in the Finger Lakes, NY with my boyfriend. It was the last stop after a long (but great) day of wine tasting in the area. I suggested Miles Wine Cellars based on the fact that it was advertised as a brewery on the tourist map I was using. I was disappointed to learn that Miles Wine Cellars imports its beer from somewhere else. I also felt like the beers they offered were not very diverse (and tended to be on the more heavier side). It truly felt like Miles Wine Cellars had added beer to their "menu" to be place on the up and coming Beer Trail in the area. On the positive side as the other Yelpers have commented the scenery at Miles Wine Cellars is beautiful (and I liked the fact that they try to "cash in" a ghost story associated with the property). read more

$3 to sample two beers :-/ $3 may not be a ton of money but it's the most I paid during my week-long trip to Seneca Lake for the smallest tasting/sampling I had the entire time. Not the greatest beer. Not the friendliest hostess pouring the tastings (not rude, just not friendly). Very tight space in the tasting room. But they have a beautiful building, a beautiful property, and a nice view of the lake. I overheard the hostess telling another group of patrons that they are trying to get something built on the water so they can do waterfront tastings. That would be excellent. Of the 25-30 wineries and breweries we visited, this one wasn't at the very bottom of the 'favorites' list, but it definitely fell below average. read more

Best vineyard we went to on Cayuga or Seneca lake. Went out for wine tours for a 30th birthday and absolutely loved it. It was recommended by another vineyard and we are so glad we went. The farmhouse is absolutely gorgeous and the wine is even better. We had Jane Miles (the youngest of the miles family) as our host. The tasting was great and you got to keep the glass. I think our group of 5 bought a full case of wine. Good prices 2/25$ on the ghost wine which is delicious and fun to learn about! read more

We visited this winery as our last stop of an all day, 7 winery tour at the suggestion of our limo driver. There is a microbrew tasting in the back of the building which was pleasant and the beers were good. The wine tasting in the house looked like a make shift setting with staff that seemed rushed and uninformed. The wine was ok by standards of NY state wines. The outside view was beautiful even in November. Overall nice but several of our other stops were better. read more
