Beer

Visited the location prior to a wedding rehearsal. Design inside is clean and the ability to get your drink using the cards is neat. Staff was friendly and helpful. I only got myself a beer but was able to enjoy it. Big drawback was that they had the doors open, but it was hot. It would be better with AC especially some of the wine, but hopefully they work it out. Overall a nice stop.

Love the vibe of this place! The hostess/server was incredibly kind and helped us through the process. Such a cool stop on our trail with being able to pour your own wine/beer. Can't wait to come back!

Lake Seneca, from one of the most beautiful places on the lake

OMG! This is a gem and not even a hidden gem. This place is a wine geeks utopia. First of all, it's very unassuming when you drive up and then when you walk in your greeted by two of the most gracious hosts and one of them by the name of Jessica. Jessica is a wine geek much like myself and when you speak the language, it's incredible. This is a concept that I learned in California where you take a card it's linked to your credit card and you could have a taste or a full glass. Pour that goes onto the card and you pay at the end which is an incredibly smart concept. You don't have to wait for somebody to come by their own leisure to pour your sip of wine when you're just trying to taste things and not wait an hour to have four different wines. Let's not forget about the incredible view of Lake Seneca, which adds to the ambience. Dog friendly? Oh hell yes! out of all my stops today this was the pinnacle of all of them and I will come back simply because they've got your wine gambit covered. Huge selection, chilled vibe, and extremely knowledgeable staff on the region itself. I could go on and on and on, but let's not waste time and get your tail over to this wonderful place.

What a fun stop along Seneca Lake! We assumed this to be a traditional winery and were pleasantly surprised to find it's a pour-your-own tasting station filled with wines from across the Fingerlakes! Staff were super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole experience. It's super fun and personable to choose your own individualized selections, which are nicely organized into stations. Views here are beautiful! Very glad we popped in here and can't wait to come back!

Amazing place!!!!! By far my new favorite winery in the Finger lakes. We were greeted with such a warm friendly Hello and sat outside enjoying the beautiful view of Seneca lake. The menu is really through and has a variety of options. The white wine was very good as well as the champagne. You can get a flight or by the glass, even half glass pours. You can pair the wine with food and they are super knowledgeable about the food wine pairings. Lots of information, beautiful venue, great service, and great wine and champagne. Can't go wrong. Cheers

I've been here before, but let's do an update. Once or pronounced ON SAY is not a vineyard but a place to try local FLX wines from a myriad of vineyards around all the lakes. They do by the glass, flights, flights with food tastings, charcuterie boards and more. The inside is light and bright with art done by local artisans. My friend and I like to come here before we end our little self guided wine tour for a flight and a nibble. The view is lovely and during the warmer months sitting outside on the deck or in the yard us a must. We got to talk to the owner and his staff, lovely and all very knowledgeable. You can just come in for a tasting but if you have a bigger group I'd call in so they can appropriately accommodate you.

This place is really cool. Firstly, it is pronounced the Spanish number 11 not once upon a time. It's is because there are 11 lakes total in the Finger Lakes region and they showcase a variety of wines from the region. They don't produce wines here but they have lots of flights that highlight different varieties of wine. They also offer food pairings with them. One of the cool things about the food pairings is that none of them require heat so even the worst cook can potentially remake them. We really enjoyed this place on our recent visit to the Finger Lakes. It was a great location to have a glass on the patio and just enjoy the view. They also had some really great snacks like the brie with crostini. We stopped here multiple times during our trip because it was an opportunity to try some of the wineries or varietals that we were not able to visit otherwise. I definitely recommend.

The tasting room. Love the finger lakes wall art!

Pro-Tip: it's pronounced OWN SAY not like storybook Once upon a time. Charming little place that offers a variety of Seneca lake wines. Nice tasting room. I had a glass of wine and melted Brie with crostini and lavender honey($18.00!!!). My friend got a glass, chorizo and the Hedonist Truffles (4 pieces-$10.00) it was a bit pricey for sure!! The small plate of Brie and glass of wine with a 20% tip ran me $33.00-more than my lunch in Hammondsport! think the Brie would have been better priced about $13.00 and the Hedonist chocolates were $2.50 a piece-we got rose, lavender, lychee and raspberry. The food was presented beautifully but I could have done without the peanuts on the Brie. There was a nice view of Seneca Lake and a deck. We were inside because it was chilly. Nice modern building and knowledgeable, friendly staff. There is a small gift area.

This was our first stop on a recent trip to the Finger Lakes. Our original plan was to eat lunch here, but we left later than expected and arrived at 4:30 which is when the kitchen closes. We were the only people outside and got the deck to ourselves with a gorgeous view. I ordered the sparkling flight, which let me try a variety of sparkling wines including a Pet Nat. My favorite was Dr. Frank's rose. My husband did the blind tasting which was a fun experience. We'd like to come back again to try lunch and another blind tasting!

Sparkling wine flights and bites

This is a very interesting place to stop for some local wines. The selection is really well curated. I have to say though, I feel that the value fell short for their flight experience. My fiancée and I both got the sparkling flight and bite and although the wines, for the most part, went really well with the bites, I was a bit surprised at how little food you got with the flight. It very literally is a bite, so you get four approximately 1.5 Oz pours and 4 bites of food for $24. The bites were delicious but I just didn't feel that it was worth the money, especially considering that you go out and taste these wines locally for a fairly low cost. I also disliked the final wine pairing with chocolate. The chocolate tasted way sweeter than the wine and the flavor of it overpowered the wine and made it more bitter. I feel like this is a good restaurant for tourists who weren't able to get a reservation at the wineries and wanted to try some local stuff. But you can go to a lot of wineries, do a tasting of sparkling wine with a pairing for a lot less.

It was beautiful and I enjoyed meeting new people. Ravines wine is also the best I have had on Seneca Lake. Dryer and more robust. Can't wait to come back!

Wasn't sure if I should post this under Ravines Wine Cellar or under the Ravinous Kitchen, so this…read morereview might be making appearances in both.... My husband and I have been to Ravines Wine Cellars several times since 'discovering them' during a special farm-to-table dinner and wine pairing at Good Luck a few years back. That night we enjoyed a 5-course meal and each course was paired with a different wine. It was the first time we ever experienced drinking finger lakes wines that we really enjoyed and could see ourselves buying for private consumption! Shortly after that, we made the trip out to the wine cellar in Geneva to do a tasting. On our first trip, we did the wine and cheese tasting - loved everything and went home with a bottle of Meritage. On the second trip, we did the wine and chocolate tasting (which features chocolates from Hedonist) and came home with a bottle of the Vignoles. Fast forward another couple of years and we took advantage of a holiday event which featured food pairing tastings from Brown Hound Bistro at the Ravines location in Hammondsport. We left with several bottles of wine for holiday gifts. Every experience was great, with friendly and knowledgeable people, enjoyable atmospheres and yummy goodness. Most recently, I was lucky to attend a special dinner at the Ravinous Kitchen as part of a company event. There were 12 of us for a 6-course meal on a Sunday evening (usually they are closed at this time). Included was a tour of the winery and wine cellar, with time spent with the owner and the head chef. It was amazing. The chef prepared really, really delicious dishes for each wine: --We started with glasses of their 2009 sparkling Brut Rose which was delicious. Paired with a bacon puff and served with herbed crème fresh, this was a lovely little bite. --Next, while we were in the cellar, we were served a parsnip bisque with caramelized cheese. We ate that while tasting their 'new' 2015 Meritage right out of the barrel. It was cool in the cellar and the bisque and wine was a perfect little warm up. --First of the 'mains' was a large serving of local Lively Run chevre, with a side of kale and some pomegranate drizzle, served with their 2015 dry Riesling. They also gave each of us a fresh baked roll, and mine was gluten free - the most perfect gluten free roll I've ever had - truly crusty and 'French-bread-like'. I could have died happy after eating this course. --Second 'main' was a stuffed squash with some kind of spinach or creamed green inside. This was doused in brown butter and served with a smear of red miso. The dish was served with their 2013 Pinot Noir. Holy deliciousness. Unlike any squash dish I've ever had, this was definitely the table favorite. Super savory and umami, great depth. Super yum. --Final 'main' was braised beef short rib served with shaved brussels sprouts and a mushroom 'cream' made by roasting a medley of mushrooms and pureeing them with cream. This dish was served with au jus and the 2013 Maximilian red. A rich, delicious combination. I have to admit at this point I was over the top stuffed, but even so, when the chef brought out extra servings of the short ribs, I forced myself to have a bit more. The au jus was delicious and the meat was totally fall-apart tender. So good. --For dessert, we were served a butterscotch 'risotto' - basically a rice pudding with white chocolate, apricots and toasted oats. This was served with the Vignoles. Take a bite and a swig and swirl them in your mouth - flavor explosion! I really love the Vignoles. Even those at the table who are not fans of dessert wines/ports/ice wines drank every drop! (Too bad because I was offering to finish whatever anyone wasn't going to drink, but no takers....) Ravines is definitely at the tippy top of my list of favorite wineries and experiences in the finger lakes. And with all the new awesome eateries in Geneva and the focus on making the little college town a foodie destination, I highly recommend you join the Ravinous club, rent an Airbnb and go there to spend a weekend of eating, drinking and merriment!

While I chose a few glasses to taste, most of what I took home were the things she handpicked for me. I was especially taken by the Glint Riesling which was grown from two sunny rows in a very sunny growing season and tastes like liquid sunshine. I also like what they're doing with Savagnin. The moody ambiance of the barn is just right for tasting. Highly recommended!

We have previously been Ravines wine club members and frequently enjoy stopping into their tasting room for wine tasting, food and purchasing bottles. We would have happily purchased some wine to take home with us (likely a case or more) but the staff was incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming. When I asked, for future visits, when the tastings usually stop, I was told 4:30. Ravines may want to update their website and online presence to reflect this (everything posted says 5pm close) as we were disappointed to be unable to finish our Mother's Day celebration at their tasting room. Due to the completely unfriendly welcome (customers were walking past us with fresh pours, clearly having just been served), we opted to leave without purchasing any wine - a significant loss for their business, not only in sales but also in customer loyalty. No one apologized that we couldn't be served or asked if we wanted to purchase any wine. We won't be back any time soon and will share the experience with friends so as to help them avoid a similarly unpleasant experience. We were once loyal but now disappointed Ravines customers.

His deep knowledge and passion shone through as he shared the rich history of the winery. The owners originally purchased land in Bucks County for farming but later moved to the Finger Lakes region, where they expanded into winemaking, a bakery, and a deli--a true craft-driven endeavor. Tabora was offering a special deal: buy one tasting flight, get the second free. Normally, I gravitate toward the drier the better, but the Winemaker's Jam caught my eye. My flight included: 1. 2021 Pinot Noir 2. 2021 Cabernet Franc 3. N.V. Heritage Noir 4. 2021 Maréchal Foch I started with the Pinot Noir, a light-bodied wine with aromas of cherry blossoms, strawberries, and dried fruit--absolutely sensational. Keith explained that all of Tabora's wines age in used French oak barrels but never for more than 18 months. Instead of prolonged oak aging, they transition the wine to stainless steel, preserving freshness while imparting just a touch of oak influence. Next up was the Cabernet Franc, which had soft tannins, a light body, and notes of raspberry and green bell pepper, with a slight oak finish--and wow, it was good. Then came my hands-down favorite: the Heritage Noir, a blend of different wines that was dry yet bursting with layered fruit flavors. It was truly an incredible experience on the palate. Finally, I sampled the Maréchal Foch, a sensational, jammy wine with hints of blackberry and pomegranate and a beautifully smooth finish. But Keith wasn't done yet--he had me try a few more, including an unoaked Cabernet Franc, which became another favorite. Aged 100% in stainless steel, it was bright with red fruit, hints of cherry, vanilla, and a touch of chocolate on the finish. Beyond the wines, Keith himself was a standout. As we sipped, he shared his life journey--from New York to Hawaii, a path shaped by his mother and sister. His stories were captivating, and if he ever writes a book, I'd be the first in line to read it. Cheers to Keith and Tabora for an unforgettable experience! #fingerlakes
