What a beautiful winery! Four of us sat outside for a tasting. The weather was perfect! This was my first time at the winery although I have enjoyed their wine before. Staff were all friendly with great personalities that made you feel right at home!

This was a great place to visit. Staff was extremely nice. Loved the outside patio. Wine was great. Flights or just a glass, both were delicious. Merchandise for sale inside. Sweatshirts, and shirts, magnets and glasses, plus more!!

A nice enjoyable experience sitting on the patio sipping wine samples and enjoying the beginning of fall foliage and the lake in the horizon Limited red wine choices but one of the substitute red was good All choices were on the dry side but my wife enjoyed the white choices The desert wine was too sweet for me but may of been an outstanding selection...I will blame my limited palette Joining their wine club offered better price points and storage access

Beautiful venue, accommodating staff. The interior barn is charming, the exterior porch area is beautiful and well shaded. Tastings can be done inside or out. One evening a week they offer pizza from their outdoor brick oven pizza.

Nice selection of tasty wines as well as a big covered outdoor patio area in addition to the seating inside. Friendly servers that work quickly but I do miss the experience of the server sharing a little bit about the wines. Since covid you select your flight and they bring it and you drink it on your own.

Did a winery day last weekend, and this was a second stop. I was pleased and excited about the chocolate pairing on offer with the tasting flight, but it turns out the chocolates were better than the wines. And the pours were not generous (like that old joke). The flight was presented very cutely, but the tasting room did not feel very unique. I'm not hating, but I probably won't be back or pick up this brand in a store.

For our first time back in years, we were treated to a fantastic experience. Everything hit just right. The wines: On this wine outing, the best we had, rivaling some of the best from Keuka Lake. Their focus was clearly whites, including Riesling, and they weren't afraid to veer away from bone-dry. Instead, it seemed like the sugar levels were appropriately matched to the wine and what it could offer. Usually Rieslings have a tendency to build acidity quickly but I didn't find that here. Instead: complex fruity noses! The tastings: This is the first place I've seen actual innovation in tasting offerings. You can "roll your own" but there is a suggested line of Rieslings to compare, and a wine & chocolate pairing. Chocolates custom-made for their wines, spectacular small-batch chocolates. I'm looking forward to charcuterie on a future visit. The service was friendly, cheerful, knowledgeable, and calm. The interior: It's cozy and rustic. It's the bottom-half of a house built on the side of a hill. Weathered wood and stone. Relaxed and warm. We felt completely at ease. We joined the wine club, we're certainly coming back. A little pricey for the tastings but everything else made it worthwhile, especially with club discounts.

A mere 4 minutes from our hotel, we had to check out Billsboro on our recent trip to the Finger Lakes! We made reservations online and pre-paid for our tasting (~$10 / person + tax / tip). The winery is situated atop a large hill so you could easily miss the sign directing you if you weren't in the know. The store front looks similar to a barn, but there is a spacious enough patio to the side where we had our tasting. It overlooked the lake (after getting past the highway), which was a nice touch. It was a little breezy on the day of our tasting, so I do wish there were some heaters, but it was definitely bearable. There was a little chimney outside, so I would imagine that have that going on some colder days. In terms of the wine - Billsboro is known for their dry wines, so all offerings centered around this. We were given a list of all the wines featured in the tasting, and we could select 5 wines to try. Most of the wines were dry whites (2 rieslings, a chardonnay, and a sauvignon blanc), but there were also a few reds, a rose, and a dessert wine. I opted for the sauvignon blanc, riesling, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon - syrah, and the dessert wine (kiwi, kumquat, and pineapple forward). Our waiter brought our selections out to us in pre-portioned mini carafes, which we could then pour into our wine glasses. Our tasting was more DIY than expected - at other wineries, the waiter walked us through the tastings, pointing out the various notes and giving a bit of a backstory for the wines. However, at Billsboro, we were left alone to wine taste, which was fine, but it would have been nice to have an expert guide throughout the tasting. Nonetheless, the wines were quite nice - I don't classify myself as a dry wine lover, but I definitely didn't notice a strong dryness for most of the wines. I particularly appreciated the riesling, which had a hint of sweetness to it but wasn't overpowering and was quite refreshing. The cab sav - syrah was also delightful - the smoky flavor was quite pronounced, which was a unique touch and made it memorable. Lastly, the dessert wine was a nice ending - it was still a dry wine, but much more sweet than the other offerings. Overall, we enjoyed our tasting at Billsboro! The variety was ideal, and I liked that they had a focus on dry wine but allowed us to select which varietals we wanted. I do wish we had a guide to walk us through the tasting, but the tasting notes provided were much appreciated. The outdoor space was COVID friendly and made for a nice tasting atmosphere. Would certainly recommend Billsboro if you are a fan of dry wines, if you know a bit about wine to start you off, and if you are staying in the Geneva area!

Loved this winery! It's inside a barn but they have lovely outdoor seating as well. We enjoyed our tastings and their Cab Franc is seriously amazing! I will definitely be coming back when we revisit the Finger Lakes.

This winery doesn't look as fancy as the rest. Small little house looking winery but super cute when you go inside. Very cozy and intimate. The glasses were super adorable and they had some good wines ! Service was very nice as well

This was a really unique tasting experience. We got to have a seated tasting which was paired with locally made chocolates. Some of the flavor combos were unexpected be at least two of them made really complimentary pairings. The only thing I noticed is that the staff were not quite as attentive on the day we went. I like a laid back experience, but all the staff had gone away to a different room at the same time. A bit odd.

Amy was so knowledgeable…read moreand I loved chatting with her about the different growing years and the distinctions between their vineyards. While I chose a few glasses to taste, most of what I took home were the things she handpicked for me. I was especially taken by the Glint Riesling which was grown from two sunny rows in a very sunny growing season and tastes like liquid sunshine. I also like what they're doing with Savagnin. The moody ambiance of the barn is just right for tasting. Highly recommended!

We have previously been Ravines wine club members and frequently enjoy stopping into their tasting room for wine tasting, food and purchasing bottles. We would have happily purchased some wine to take home with us (likely a case or more) but the staff was incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming. When I asked, for future visits, when the tastings usually stop, I was told 4:30. Ravines may want to update their website and online presence to reflect this (everything posted says 5pm close) as we were disappointed to be unable to finish our Mother's Day celebration at their tasting room. Due to the completely unfriendly welcome (customers were walking past us with fresh pours, clearly having just been served), we opted to leave without purchasing any wine - a significant loss for their business, not only in sales but also in customer loyalty. No one apologized that we couldn't be served or asked if we wanted to purchase any wine. We won't be back any time soon and will share the experience with friends so as to help them avoid a similarly unpleasant experience. We were once loyal but now disappointed Ravines customers.

My husband and I have been to Ravines Wine Cellars several times since 'discovering them' during a special farm-to-table dinner and wine pairing at Good Luck a few years back. That night we enjoyed a 5-course meal and each course was paired with a different wine. It was the first time we ever experienced drinking finger lakes wines that we really enjoyed and could see ourselves buying for private consumption! Shortly after that, we made the trip out to the wine cellar in Geneva to do a tasting. On our first trip, we did the wine and cheese tasting - loved everything and went home with a bottle of Meritage. On the second trip, we did the wine and chocolate tasting (which features chocolates from Hedonist) and came home with a bottle of the Vignoles. Fast forward another couple of years and we took advantage of a holiday event which featured food pairing tastings from Brown Hound Bistro at the Ravines location in Hammondsport. We left with several bottles of wine for holiday gifts. Every experience was great, with friendly and knowledgeable people, enjoyable atmospheres and yummy goodness. Most recently, I was lucky to attend a special dinner at the Ravinous Kitchen as part of a company event. There were 12 of us for a 6-course meal on a Sunday evening (usually they are closed at this time). Included was a tour of the winery and wine cellar, with time spent with the owner and the head chef. It was amazing. The chef prepared really, really delicious dishes for each wine: --We started with glasses of their 2009 sparkling Brut Rose which was delicious. Paired with a bacon puff and served with herbed crème fresh, this was a lovely little bite. --Next, while we were in the cellar, we were served a parsnip bisque with caramelized cheese. We ate that while tasting their 'new' 2015 Meritage right out of the barrel. It was cool in the cellar and the bisque and wine was a perfect little warm up. --First of the 'mains' was a large serving of local Lively Run chevre, with a side of kale and some pomegranate drizzle, served with their 2015 dry Riesling. They also gave each of us a fresh baked roll, and mine was gluten free - the most perfect gluten free roll I've ever had - truly crusty and 'French-bread-like'. I could have died happy after eating this course. --Second 'main' was a stuffed squash with some kind of spinach or creamed green inside. This was doused in brown butter and served with a smear of red miso. The dish was served with their 2013 Pinot Noir. Holy deliciousness. Unlike any squash dish I've ever had, this was definitely the table favorite. Super savory and umami, great depth. Super yum. --Final 'main' was braised beef short rib served with shaved brussels sprouts and a mushroom 'cream' made by roasting a medley of mushrooms and pureeing them with cream. This dish was served with au jus and the 2013 Maximilian red. A rich, delicious combination. I have to admit at this point I was over the top stuffed, but even so, when the chef brought out extra servings of the short ribs, I forced myself to have a bit more. The au jus was delicious and the meat was totally fall-apart tender. So good. --For dessert, we were served a butterscotch 'risotto' - basically a rice pudding with white chocolate, apricots and toasted oats. This was served with the Vignoles. Take a bite and a swig and swirl them in your mouth - flavor explosion! I really love the Vignoles. Even those at the table who are not fans of dessert wines/ports/ice wines drank every drop! (Too bad because I was offering to finish whatever anyone wasn't going to drink, but no takers....) Ravines is definitely at the tippy top of my list of favorite wineries and experiences in the finger lakes. And with all the new awesome eateries in Geneva and the focus on making the little college town a foodie destination, I highly recommend you join the Ravinous club, rent an Airbnb and go there to spend a weekend of eating, drinking and merriment!
