This winery has a great outdoor patio with views to the lake and lots of greenery. We did their standard wine tasting for 15 bucks and it was great. The sommelier's were informative and knowledgeable about the wines. I enjoyed the rose the most. The staff there is ridiculously attractive and all of the guys are good at sales and very personable, so kudos to the hiring manager. We will visit again if in the neighborhood. read more

Such a lovely little tasting room! The wines are more natural in vibe, but still approachable. Charlie led us through the tasting, who was super nice and did such a fantastic job - gave us enough interesting information without overwhelming us. He also gave us some fabulous recommendations for food! The wines covered a range of varietals, and we got some delicious hummus and crackers for free. read more

Unplanned stop on our afternoon jaunt around Seneca Lake. So glad, we stopped in. The staff were pleasant and very knowledgeable. They only offer a flight of 5 preselected wines served with a baguette, oil and dried fruit. There is a gluten free option, as well. I enjoyed the fact that I didn't have to make any decisions on what to try. It is a small venue but it feels clean and classy inside. It was a great place to chat with friends while tasting wine. read more

The only thing more amazing than their wine, are the people who own the business. I came to the area on my bachelorette party and have a dog named Scout so wanted to stop here. Unfortunately the town/neighbors won't allow a bus to come so we broke off into a smaller group so I could get a shirt. The owners could not have been more amazing and we loved the sparkling wine so much that two of us bought some. I cannot recommend this winery more and though I live 6 hours away, plan to follow the business from afar. Thank you so much Olivia and Daniel! I love my new sign!!! read more

My wife and I visited the Finger Lakes recently and Scout was our favorite winery. It's small - a young couple own it and there are two other employees. They had interesting wines and the tasting came with a plate of bread, olive oil and dried fruit, which was a nice touch. Very nice people. Highly recommended! read more

What a gem! We were recommended to go to Scout by someone at Once and I am so glad we prioritized it. This visit was the highlight of our most recent trip to the Finger Lakes. I normally don't like chardonnays, but this was delicious. The Pinot Blanc was remarkable, though out of our price range. I asked to try the Pet Nat and it was truly remarkable and we bought 2 bottles. The food pairing complemented the tasting nicely - baguette from Blue Heron Bakery (highly recommend visiting their bakery) with apricot jam and delicious cheese. Cute atmosphere at this newer winery! I thought that the tasting was well paced and balanced- I appreciated the unique mix of wines they had and particularly liked the Petnat that we began with. This is not your average "Rieslings of the FLX" winery. The snack plate was delicious and locally sourced- great portions too. The folks running Scout seem to have a pulse on the area providing recommendations and making connections with guests. As is becoming more common on the wine trail, we did make reservations, and were glad we had them on a busy Saturday! read more

I was in the Finger Lakes for a bachelorette party. Prior to arriving to the area I contacted Scout Vineyards to set up a tasting as the brides dog is named Scout and it seemed fitting. The male that answered informed me that unfortunately they cannot welcome busses on the property. The plan my group had involved vineyard hopping on a bus, so making this a stop at Scout would not work for us. I planned on just going in my own to purchase the bride a bottle of wine from Scout Vineyards. On Saturday, August 20, the bride asked me to bring her to Scout in my own car. I was happy to do so. We arrived close to close, but we knew to be quick and just grab a bottle to purchase. When we entered, the male behind the counter, Daniel (one of the owners), greeted us with great enthusiasm. We assured him we would be quick and only wanted to purchase a bottle. He told us not to rush. We began talking to him about Scout the dog, and he remembered my phone call earlier in the week. The bride wanted to purchase a sweatshirt, but asked about other colors. He went in the back and found a sweatshirt color that was not yet displayed for the bride to purchase. The bride saw a sign in their business that said "Scout" on a wine barrel stave. She asked if it was for purchase. Daniel referred to Olivia, the other owner. She named a price for the sign (which was beyond reasonable) and the bride was happy to purchase the sign along with her sweatshirt. While we were talking to Olivia, Daniel poured us a tasting of their sparkling wine. It was delicious. We purchased a couple bottles of wine to bring home with us. To say we were thrilled with our experience at Scout Vineyards was an understatement. Next time we are in the Finger Lakes we will make sure to schedule a tasting (without a bus) to spend more time enjoying their property and other wine offerings. read more

First time here and loved it!! The owners are so nice and all of the wines are amazing! A Riesling that's not overly sweet and a Chardonnay that is actually delicious. My husband and I have visited the Fingerlakes Wine region for many years, but have yet to visit Scout Vineyards. The owner told us it was newer - established in 2020. The winery is small and reservations are recommended. My family happened to hit the timing perfectly and we were able to be seated for a tasting at one of the three tables. The list of five - six wines is very white wine-heavy. Although I am normally a red wine drinker, I thoroughly enjoyed the whites. The chardonnay was crisp, and it was an interesting experience tasting the 2021 and 2022 Reislings side-by-side. The tasting was fifteen dollars and you got a plate of locally-made eats: fresh baguettes and dried fruit. The owner even gave my five and seven-year-old their own food plate to nosh on while my husband and I tasted the wines. The owner was very nice and extremely professional. Bottles of wine to purchase range in the 20-30 dollar range. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We will certainly be back. read more

One of our favorite new wineries! Several Chardonnays at different oak levels and a red, plus a delicious pairing of fresh baked bread and local cheese, amish butter, and fig jam. Run by a husband and wife, the interior is cozy and modern and you have the opportunity to talk directly with the winemaker. Do not pass this new local vineyard up on your tour of the Finger Lakes! We almost drove by but we're not sorry! We stopped up to tour all of these vineyards and it seemed like this establishment did not have the curb appeal like some of the other establishments and was actually full when we arrived so we were told to come back in 15-20 minutes. Be decision yet for this trip. Out of six vineyards on our tour, this was definitely the top one or two. The tasting room is clean, contemporary and fresh. Immediately we were served a half baguette of bread with apricot marmalade, salted Amish butter and goat cheese to pair with the five wine offerings. The taste is $15.95 and every penny worth it. The pours are not skimpy and the owners are knowledgeable with great experience in Napa and New Zealand. To start off, we enjoyed a 2017 and 2018 Chardonnay. We do not enjoy sweet or semi sweet so this really hit our palate. The growing seasons were complete opposites and we had a difficult time choosing, but ultimately we went with the 2017 varietal which was tangier and crisp. Please take advantage of the Marquette which is normally unique to Vermont. Similar to a Malbec and Cabernet in my opinion. Smooth and great medium-full body. Most of the reds up this way have been weak and bland, almost too peppery to add taste. I can't go without adding the Pinot Noir which was also fantastic and smooth. The Riesling was smooth and a true semi dry without being too tacky sweet on the tongue, light topical notes in my opinion. We left with a Marquette and Chardonnay 2017... Kind of wished we grabbed it all! We will be back next time for sure with friends! read more

Loved our visit this week to this unassuming new winery. The wines were better than we expected. We wanted to buy more than would fit in the car, and then learned they ship at a flat rate- awesome - so we will have tasty wine awaiting us when we get home. We liked the entire flight, and our favorite was the Chardonnay aged in stainless steel, crisp and cool on a warm day. We echo the yum factor of the fresh bread and goat cheese and salted butter and jam. And the conversation with the owners was delightful. We learned they were Statesman/Heron at Hobart and William Smith, as is my husband. They graduated 2 decades after he did, but they still had lots to discuss. Overall, a great experience. Wishing these scouts lots of success as they continue to build their vineyard and their winery. read more

We came in at closing and selected our wines based on our normal tastes but after one or two she quickly understood us. She made changes and our experience exceptional. I second what Kaitlyn K said i her review. Do not pass this one by! Scout Winery was included in the Flavors section of the Rochester paper as one of 5 new wineries to try. So we visited today and are truly glad we did. Loved the atmosphere and loved the wine too! The tasting room is spotless and beautiful and set up for social distancing. The owners Daniel and Olivia are warm and welcoming. A tasting includes five wines and a classy plate of a fresh local baguette with Amish butter, cheese, and preserves. The wines are impressive. We tasted 2019, 2018 and 2017 Chardonnays, Riesling, and Pinot Noir. We truly liked them all, especially the Riesling as it was not too sweet. We left with the 2019 and 2018 Chards and the Riesling. Scout Vineyards is a newcomer to the FLX region and wow, we are so lucky to have them! They specialize in Chardonnay and have beautiful, interesting red wines. As we did our tasting, we forgot that they were brand new to the Finger Lakes and had only been producing wine for 2-3 years. The quality of these brand new wines is incredible and it only makes us more excited for what is to come in future. We are so lucky Dan and Olivia chose to establish their winery in the Finger Lakes and they are a winery that is absolutely worth your time and money. They have a beautiful tasting room with a stunning view of Seneca Lake and and throughout the tasting, you end up feeling like family. We cannot recommend them enough. read more
