I was surprised how good their blended Bordeaux blend was.
David D.

The most laid back winery on the trip. The proprietor and winemaker is available while pouring. They source their red grapes from the East side of Seneca in the deepest part of Seneca Lake, which allows red grapes more hang time. This is known to locals as the banana belt, which accounts for the strange names like Bad Monkey Merlot. Their reds were surprisingly good, though quite filtered but pleasant. This is housed in a renovated barn off West Lake Road towards the North part of the wine trail. $7 for 3 1 ounce pours seemed a bit high considering quality but their low production accounts for this.

Beautiful barn at the Winery!

This was one of our favorite wineries! There was not one wine I didn't like and the owners were fantastic! The vibe is super cool and I cannot wait to visit again! I had lots of questions and they were wonderful in answering them!

The interior of the tasting room.

Exceptional wine and the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful! I really enjoyed the Bad Monkey Cabernet and the Dry Riesling. You must see the interior is impressive...

My #1 favorite winery. Had a great visit with the owners who personally renovated the old barn.

#1 favorite winery in the finger lakes. This winery is a must - great wine and an amazing tasting room. The owners are very knowledgeable and personally renovated the old barn into a tasting room. I give them so much credit for their insight and plan. We'll definitely be back.

The wines were really tasty. I especially enjoyed the Riesling (limestone vineyard) and the Cab…read moreFranc, but everything on thet asting menu was great. We got a little hungry and grabbed some snacks. The whipped feta was fantastic. I could have eaten the entire dish myself. The charcuterie board and hummus were also a great pairing for the wines.

My family and I arrived to the Ravines Geneva tasting room on Sunday 5/10 (Mother's Day) at 4:43pm…read moreand upon entering were promptly told the tasting room was closed as they were closing in 15 minutes. We have previously been Ravines wine club members and frequently enjoy stopping into their tasting room for wine tasting, food and purchasing bottles. We would have happily purchased some wine to take home with us (likely a case or more) but the staff was incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming. When I asked, for future visits, when the tastings usually stop, I was told 4:30. Ravines may want to update their website and online presence to reflect this (everything posted says 5pm close) as we were disappointed to be unable to finish our Mother's Day celebration at their tasting room. Due to the completely unfriendly welcome (customers were walking past us with fresh pours, clearly having just been served), we opted to leave without purchasing any wine - a significant loss for their business, not only in sales but also in customer loyalty. No one apologized that we couldn't be served or asked if we wanted to purchase any wine. We won't be back any time soon and will share the experience with friends so as to help them avoid a similarly unpleasant experience. We were once loyal but now disappointed Ravines customers.
