came here as this was one of the few vineyards that was close & open late. it was a gloomy day but since we were a big group and it was pretty crammed inside, we sat outside. the service was still great, they came and took our order and served us and were super sweet. there was live music that was playing while we were there and the vibes were super cozy and intimate. the bread was PHENOMENAL - SO delicious, highly recommend. They didn't have any wine tastings and only served by the glass/bottle which was a bit disappointing as other vineyards had tastings, but nevertheless it was a good time. they even had cupcakes (apple pie) and it was SO good omg. plenty of parking, cute vibes. read more

My husband and 2 friends of ours visited yesterday and had a great time tasting wines and exploring the eccentric shop. Spencer waited on us and was perfect, attentive, welcoming and polite. A great time!! We visited on monday when they have live music and a food truck. This vineyard is also a popular hangout for the locals. Everyone was very friendly. I hate to leave low scoring reviews, but I just really thought the wine here was bad. My husband and I got two flights to share. One of the flights was three different fruit wines and, honestly, they all tasted like fruit that had gone bad. The other flight we got was slightly better, but all of the wines had a bad after taste. I will note that both the woman and young man who helped us were very nice. Unfortunately this was not enough to make me want to come back here or recommend this winery. read more

We stopped at Rasta during a bachelorette weekend. We were promptly seated outside, under an awning, as it was raining. The menus they gave us for the wines they offered were hard to read and by the time the employee came back to ask what we wanted, I was still reading the first column, however, I couldn't decide and opted to not get anything. I know that the wines are sweet here, and that is just not my cup of tea. Everyone who ordered their wines and wine slushies seemed to enjoy them. I am not a fan of the vibes, or the wines. I went to rasta ranch based on a recommendation of a friend. It was so different than your typical winery which I loved. It's like you step back in time into the 60s. Lots of tie dyed clothes and crystals. I love that it is not your typical winery. The had music out on the patio and a grilled cheese food truck. We came excited to try the sweet wines. We were seated by a young gentleman at 5. He handed us a flight menu and took some time to explain the flights. At 5:20 he had not yet come back to our table so we went inside to see what was happening. He complained to my girlfriend saying he's no longer working after having worked a full day. He said he's off the clock now, and basically implied it wasn't his problem. We asked where we could order the flights and he said "my bad we actually stopped serving those at 4:30." We were only interested in doing the flights, so we had to leave after wasting 20 min of our time here. Another woman seemed visibly angry when we asked for water, and then was clearly upset when we asked to move into the shade. There are plenty of other wineries that treat patrons right on Seneca. If you want to start a business, get the basics of customer service right. read more

Since they deleted my Google review I figured I'd review it here also. We stopped in Saturday at 11am with a group of 8. This was our first stop for a birthday get together. The "owner" (Im assuming) stopped us before we even walked into the winery and informed us that because we are a group of 8 we weren't allowed to do any wine tastings. We were only allowed to buy wine by the bottle or the glass. We told him that there were only 3 out of 8 in our group that wanted to taste anyways. He refused to serve still, so the 5 that weren't going to taste offered to go wait in the car and he still refused to serve the other 3 because we were still a "large group" even though we would be sitting in the car. They weren't busy at all! Would never recommend to anyone. Do yourself a favor and drive past here and go to Hazlitt. read more

The staff is fantastic! Not snooty like some of the other wineries on 414. The owner assisted us and determining the best wine for us. She was welcoming, informative, and incredibly sweet! This winery may not be everyone's cup of tea but they have made me a life long fan. Forever grateful that we walked thru the door and it felt like home. Okay, this is usually one of the last stops on our "Parker Loop" wine trail jaunts so my judgement and recollection is not complete. Here's some highlights and lowlights: Man behind the winebar is bearded, gray, and gruff, wearing an awesome Hawaiian shirt. Also seems to be flagrantly chugging from a Molson Canadian can as he serves our wine "tastes" (Tastes seem to be half glasses). He yells at my special lady when she has to ask where we are in the wine tasting list, "Pay attention!" Oh man, this is some sweet sweet wine. Grateful dead blasting on the speakers. My special lady picks up a tank top she would like to purchase, then spills some wine on it during the tasting, and discreetly returns it to the rack. Wandering around the store, ogling the merchandise. Must buy Uncle Homer's Red. Purchased one jug. Later would wish that I had purchased several more. It's the Fingerlakes, baby. I'll try to be objective here but I really disliked this winery for a multitude of reasons. First, I'm not into the hippie vibe (such as the owner walking around barefoot). Second, the wine was truly awful. That's not just my opinion but also that of the three others I was with. Third, while the price was great, the wine is served in little plastic Jell-O shot type of containers not wine glasses. Fourth, I try not to do business with mask-nazi establishments ESPECIALLY when they now have the option to not have their customers wear them. Truly......I hated this place. We came here a couple of years ago and enjoyed the "experience" of the bob Marley, patchouli smell, full cups of their swill, fun, and laid back tasting. We came this year and it was the same ambiance but trying to pretend they're like the others, charging for a tasting of 5 and putting a sip in a tiny cup. We come to the finger lakes annually for the Nascar races the views brewery's and winery's. My favorite by far is the Rasta Ranch Vineyards it is cool, with a classic rock and roll vibe, and plenty of memorabilia the owners are warm and welcoming and make you feel like an old friend, the wines are delicious and I'm partial to Terry's teaser and Homer Red. When I'm in the mood for something a little drier I'm all about Their Cab Sav and Baco Noir. They have a great selection and I can't wait to try their other wines. We stopped here because it looked different. As soon as we arrived they were having a concert on the back deck. However what we noticed is the barn was a little wore out. However we went to sample wine, and was charged $5 per person. We decided to share ours but the guy was so nice that he didn't provide us a limit of how many wines that we could try. The first one that we tried was the Whiter Shade of Pale and it was bitter to the both of us. It's a dry white wine. Then we tried a couple more, then he said what do you like and I said I'm a dry red person. He said I insist you try the Baco Noir and follow up with the Cab. I did and OMG the Baco and Cab is DRY and you can taste the grape. It was amazing. My wife doesn't care for the dry reds, and she even said hands down best red wine she has ever tried. So this was the first stop we walked out with red wine only. Do not think twice, and try that red wine it's amazing. I can't wait to drink it. read more

Rasta Ranch has a special place in my heart. Most of their wines aren't that great, but all the other hippie things you can buy and the chill staff make up for it. They were very busy during my most recent visit so they had a set tasting menu instead of tasting anything off the menu. If they're using a tasting menu, ask them to sub Bohemian Raspberry in it. You won't regret it! It's a semi-sweet raspberry flavored red, and it might be favorite wine in the entire Finger Lakes. I don't know how they can make one wine that is basically the embodiment of everything good in the world when their other ones are so meh. I also recommend their wine hot sauce, Uncle Homer's Hippie Heat. It's slightly sweet, very hot, and delicious. read more

Very fun, unique winery on the lake. This isn't your typical winery. It is small and cozy compared to the larger places in the area. However, we have a blast every time we go there. I have read some of the other posts on this winery, and will say this; I've seen the servers get on some people's cases, but those individuals were drunk. If you act like an idiot, you can expect to hear about it. That goes for any place on the lake. The atmosphere, is very hippie-ish. I personally do not carry myself that way, but I am always treated well when there because I'm respectful of their property. Overall, I highly recommend Rasta Ranch. It is on my list of places to stop every time I'm in the area. The Uncle Homer's is an absolute must. Enjoy! read more

The tasting room is a converted old barn, with kitschy music memoribilia displayed (eg, posters of Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, etc), and hippie-esque jewelery and clothing for sale in addition to the wine. The service was good -- the woman behind the counter took our tasting fee ($2 each) and poured their wines, talking about each of them. However, the problem is (and the reason the review is 2 stars, not 4) that the wines they make.... not particularly good. Some of them, in fact, were rather spectacularly bad. Yeah, there's no accounting for taste, but it's hard to seperate the tasting experience from the service one. I can say, been there, done that, I'll pass on another try. read more

This place definitely has character. Strike up a conversation with the owner about her trip to Woodstock or the many concerts in the 60s that she had attended. Go try on a mood ring or purchase a tie dyed t-shirt. Try some wine such as the sweet wine titled "Purple Haze." Don't expect high quality wine though. I opened my Purple Haze and the cork literally disintegrated causing in little pieces of cork to float around in my wine. It didn't taste quite like it did in the winery. I don't know if it was because I waited a while before opening it but it tasted quite weak and watery. The label on the bottle also came off with in a week of buying the wine and I had to tape it back on. If you are hitting the wine trails this is definitely a place you need to stop, though, just to experience it. You will not find another winery quite like this one in the finger lakes! read more

They really don't care about taking your money so whoever said that is just down right miserable.... Surely there are swear words tossed around, but it's part of the hilarious atmosphere..... If you're a snob, this is not your place! ( I'm assuming the "awful wine" comment would be from such.....) The wine and atmosphere are great for people who just enjoy wine, especially sweet! Uncle homers and Peace of My Heart come in jugs by popular demand and they're DELICIOUS! Mixed together they're even better!!! Perfect for beer and wings!! When you walk in you enter a warm cozy barn with so much to look at! Every time I go I notice something new! I've definitely had the best time here and Hector Wine Company! ( which is for the dryer crowd.) The owner of that winery is also fantastic! They were extremely rude and insulting when my bridal party and I went here and proceeded to make unfriendly comments inside about us when they thought they were out of earshot and the server left little to be desired (very negative and grumpy) even the guy who seemed to be in charge had said out loud (to the server) "Stop being so gloomy and smile a little...(to us)don't mind her, she's always like this. This was also the guy who moments later went into the main store area and proceeded to be extremely rude and start talking about me and the 5 others I was with. Little did he know the patrons he was saying this in front of happened to be 2 of the 5 and they were none other than my own mother and soon to be mother-in-law. We were not overly loud, overly obnoxious or remotely drunk (3rd winery stop). SO, If you want friendly and accommodating...go some place else. read more
