Well it was a rather ho-hum experience partly because they had too many patron show up at the same time. The serving was very slow and the flight of reds we selected, or rather were recommended, appeared flat and average. Had a great experience here. No reservation was needed so we walked right to the outside area. Got lucky with beautiful weather and such a gorgeous view of the water. We were disappointed to find out that they were out of the vegan cheese for the cheese board and I'm not sure if they are bringing it back since it's off the menu :( but the options we were able to get vegan were still really delicious. Do yourself a favor and get the turmeric cashews, I wanted to buy a whole bag to take home after trying! The rest of the board was two kinds of olives, dates and grape leaves. This was a great stop! We had one of their first appointments of the day. We were seated at a couple of high top tables. With our prepaid tasting we were able to choose 5 wines from their list. We also added cheese plates with Marcano almonds to our tasting and that was a great idea. They were beautifully plated cheeses that paired really well with wines. The favorites of our group were the Chardonnay, rose of blaufrankish, the regular blaufrankish, and the pet nat. In a region with so many options you should definitely consider this one. read more

We had a wonderful experience at Atwater. We appreciated learning that there's a vineyard planted East-West of Reisling and as well as a North-South vineyard of Reisling. The difference in the wine based on the sun the grapes received from being planted a different direction, as well as the effect of water flow on the East/West vineyard verses North/South was very interesting! As a huge wine lover, I wanted my friends and I to try a winery we had never been to and I'm so glad I came across Atwater. I was doing some research and came across Atwater and thought it was a perfect stop. I was able to make a reservation for a tasting for our party of 4 on the deck and it was a great experience. Our tasting included cheese and crackers and one of their employees Tom who was very knowledgeable in the wines and Seneca lake history and had a great sense of humor oversaw our group. The view was incredible from the deck too! The brut was my favorite of the wines we sampled and the one we bought a bottle of to take home. All in all it was a great experience! read more

This is a gorgeous lakeside vineyard. I can't really speak for their wine as we did not try that many. The ones that we did tried were good. But if you're looking for an open area, laidback ambience, and beautiful views, this is the place to go. It was a beautiful day when we went and we were able to enjoy a glass of wine under the warm sun, gentle breeze, with the vast lake view. This vineyard has indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating has a deck overlooking the lake. The tastings are done indoors and are guided. We did not try their tasting as we wanted to sit outdoors. We walked directly up to the outdoor bar, ordered a glass of wine each, and picked our own seats. There were plenty of tables and lounge chairs, some under a tent and some are in the open grass area. We were told that the outdoor bar can also serve the tastings, you just will not get the full guided experience. read more

TLDR- Service and wine could be improved, but the view is great! The wine is definitely average to below average in the finger lakes, but not bad. They do not have single vineyard wines and their sparkling is PN style not champagne like Ravines, Hermann, etc. So the whites and sparkling are mediocre relative to the area. That said the reds are solid. The service is a little slow inside and a little snooty. We saw the hostess refuse to give a child a single coloring sheet because she was afraid it would get lost outside. The mother seemed confused as her child kept asking and the hostess repeated that only children inside can have coloring sheets while the toddler bawled. I understand that they don't want papers blowing around outside but especially since it was really slow, what's the harm in giving one piece of paper to make that kid's day? Clearly the family is going to be using wipes and their own coloring books instead so it wasn't a great vibe to see her be accusatory to a young mother. (Especially since they didn't seem to have the option sit inside- and the same hostess dropped a glass later, so I think they have worse environmental concerns to worry about) The description with the tasting was nice but also just seemed to try to justify bad wine. I did really like the view though and would consider coming back again for the outside and try only reds. I think if I didn't know how good other wineries were in the area I wouldn't have been as put off by the so-so wine. It's not bad and the view is amazing. read more

This is my favorite this time during my visit to Fingers lake. They only take wine tasting by reservation so we didn't do wine tasting. However, they have really nice outdoor seating area that you can order by the glass or by the bottle and just sit down and relax with your friend under a big tent. The view is incredible and the people work here is really nice and friendly. Highly recommend bubble Rose, it's just simply delicious and the perfect some for a hot summer day! read more

Happy midweek my fellow Adventurers! This place is one of the best winery/tastings I've ever been to! The views, the staff, the delicious food, and not to mention the wines! All off is highly rated by my standards. While I wasn't able to to get to the tasting I was able to try the Pinot Gris (white wine) because this was around 5 so that's what I was craving. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors and textures of the the Savory charcuterie plate. Like really surprised! I usually don't like particular cheeses especially if they are goat or "stinkier" cheeses, however this was paired with the honey was mild. By pairing it with the white wine I think it brought out the nutty flavors of the cheese and the earthy flavors of crisps provided. The views alone are worth it even after missing the tasting. The upper patio has a full view of Seneca Lake and a small wildflower field that they cut for decoration inside. You'll see people of all age groups and backgrounds sitting enjoying the views. This would be a great place at sunset for proposal or an anniversary date for the older couples. Please be sure to check this out as it may be on the Seneca Wine Trail as well! read more

From the stunning views and amazing service, this is an all star review! Upon recommendation from Hector's Winery, I decided to try this winery out. I got 5 tastings for $5, great deal! I tried some whites, sweet, and dessert wines. The wine pourer was very nice and gave us an extra pour and great vegetarian food recommendations. As a bonus, when I checked-in from Yelp, I got a free magnet and post card. She def earned a nice tip! The wines are nice and sweet. Ithaca is known for its dessert wines. A group of friends and I were here in the fall at the height of Covid. We didn't go inside but lucked out with a day of good weather so opted to sit outside under their tent where everyone was very well spaced even though it was relatively busy (as this is a popular spot for sunset). This was the last stop on our day long vineyard tour so I appreciated that they had a sparkling cocktail as I wasn't sure I could stomach more wine... and it was delicious. This place was the first stop in our Seneca Wine trail list. I personally picked the place based on the reviews I have read. The view of the lake from their beautiful deck is amazing. I could sit there forever if given the choice but we were just starting. We had a great wine tasting experience. $5 for 6 tastings. We had the pleasure to be served by an old but nice lady. She gave informative facts about each wine on our list. My husband and I picked our 6 choices separately. My husband tried mostly red's. I enjoyed their sweet wines particularly the Niagara. Their Riesling tastes good for me too. Ended up buying 2 sweets to start our trek. The tasting room is meticulously clean and neat. They sell merchandise other than bottles of wine. Friendly staff. We didn't make it in time for the wine tasting (closed at 5), but we did stop by for the Atwater After Hours on a Friday night. Basically, they sold wine by the glass or bottle, and they also offered a couple of cheese plates. They closed at dusk. We really enjoyed our time at Atwater. The sparkling gewurztraminer and the riewurz were both delicious, as was the Seneca cheese plate. But most impressive, the view was worth the stop alone. The staff were lovely and the ambience impressive. I would definitely stop by again for some wine and scenery. read more

Pretentious and dangerous. Not following COVID rules properly. Can't comment on the wines or the tasting because we felt so unsafe we left before it started! We were two people, when we came they told us we had to have a reservation and come back in half in hour. They took our credit card and charged us just to hold our reservation (the other tasting rooms told us this was highly unusual for two people coming to a tasting room on a Monday afternoon. Makes sense maybe at a 12 seat restaurant or something. When we returned at our reservation time they refused to seat us for our tasting until 6 other people who had reservations at the same time arrived. I asked if all 8 people would be seated at the same table even during COVID and the guy looked at us like we were crazy and assured us we'd be safe. Then, while he was waiting for the other people to arrive he had everyone crowded in a corner not socially distant at all. That's when we knew it was time to run! I've been a huge supporter of places like restaurants and tasting rooms during COVID. I know these are very though times, but you have to follow the rules read more

Michelle was wonderful and accommodating (allowing us to sample 1-2 wines each before choosing the drink we wanted). CONS: we walked into the indoor part of the vineyard and were not greeted by the worker until about 4 minutes had passed. After we had our glasses of wine we went inside to buy bottles of wine and were rudely greeted by the cashier asking us "what are you doing in here? Were you outside? Do not touch all of the bottles". The customer service inside could use some MAJOR improvement!!!! read more

Was in Ithaca and decided to take the drive out to check out Atwater. It was worth it. Big shout to Patrick, our host. From the waterfront patio and views, to the ideal spot to enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine. When we got there shortly after 6pm, there were no more tastings but you can get a glass. They also had Mulled Wine, which I haven't tried before at all. Started with a nice glass of Blaufrankish (red). We bought some cheese and spicy salami to pair to enjoy the sunset on the deck. Then, before we knew it they were cleaning up and closing up, I had intended to finish with the Mulled Wine, went back inside and initially it looked like it was not meant to be... but big Thanks to Patrick for coming through and managed to get me a cup of Mulled Wine. I really enjoyed it. It is like warm cider, but grape flavor with spices. Patrick was also able give us advice on dinner options and suggested Dano's down the road.
