I eat here during my yearly visit to Winter Park for breakfast and it works great for me! The menu is not marked with gluten free items, but I've always gotten some form of eggs and a side of gluten free toast. If you tell them you have celiac/gluten allergy, they'll toast the bread in the oven instead of the toaster to avoid cross contamination. They also use separate utensils to prep my food upon request. Sure I can't eat everything on the menu, but a hearty breakfast is good enough for me! The staff is friendly and decor is cute. The bathroom doors crack me up.

This gem was in front of our vrbo and we were so grateful for it all the wonderful that it is! Service, delicious food, fun ambiance and quality were top notch! We got lunch take out one day and loved it then for Sunday brunch we felt we had to dine in and give it a whirl and so glad we did! My husband had the huevos rancheros, I had a Benedict and my friend had the burrito. All of our plates were cleaned off! The big winner was their fresh squeezed orange juice! Delicious. Not a drop remained in any of our glasses. Our server was super friendly as was everyone else in staff, prompt, great suggestions and professional. We look forward to returning. Parking is easy, if you are driving and there was no wait on Sunday at 10am! What's not to love?!

Eggs Benedict with home fries

Amazing eggs Benedict with a great jalapeno cheddar biscuit would highly recommend. My son got the French toast that he said was really good. the environment is nice and kinda quiet.the staff was really nice and helpful. Overall a great place to have breakfast!

huge cinnamon bun--Great portion for sharing, so you don't get diabetes all by yourself

Casual, family-friendly cafe. The waiting staff knows its regulars, which was nice to see. A lot of customers going in and out at all times, so this must be one of the popular spots in town. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat outside, enjoying the splendid views of the snowy mountains. The service is friendly and accommodating. We took our time with our breakfast, not feeling rushed. $15 highlander and $15 breakfast burrito were very filling. The highlander was a bit bland for my taste. Had to season it and ask for mustard, as the homemade potatoes, poached eggs, gravy & biscuit, and corned beef were lacking flavor and taste. Corned beef tasted odd--old, stale, and unnatural. The breakfast burrito was a massive portion and the salsa was nice and brightly flavored [a bit hot, so be warned if you do not like spice]. The burrito was certainly the better choice. The enormous $4 cinnamon bun was soft, pillowy, and very sweet. Not the best cinnamon bun I've ever had, but decent enough. I have a sweet tooth, and even for me this was veryyyyy sweet. Great portion for sharing [which is what we did], so you don't end up getting diabetes on your own, but share that sweet fate with your partner in crime.

That's my jam burger

We LOVED this place. We came 3 times during our visit. Great food both lunch and breakfast. They have HUGE cinnamon rolls!! There were 6 of us and everything we had was delicious everything. Really good service as well. This is a must stop!

Southern Burrito and a BYO Omlette.

We were looking for a breakfast spot and found Carvers. YUM!! Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Bf said the green chilli sauce on the burrito was awesome. Not spicy but very favorable. I went with the basic omlette with veggies and it was good. I liked the music and atmosphere. Will definitely come back.

Got the Belgian waffle. Tasted good but very small. Not a fair value for $13. Everyone else liked their meal but very pricey.

The experience I had at this establishment was deeply disappointing and honestly unlike anything…read moreI've encountered before. Our group of seven set out to enjoy a meal together, but what we faced instead was a cascade of errors and outright disrespect from the waitstaff and management. To begin with, the server mixed up an order, which admittedly could happen in a group our size--but the nature of our requests made the errors easily avoidable and, just as importantly, simple to correct. Five of us ordered essentially the same thing, differing only in small details like scrambled eggs with or without cheese. When we politely pointed out the issues to the server, we were met with an unprofessional and rude response. At one point, he even went as far as telling some of our party members that they needed to "pay attention." This attitude alone soured the experience, but things only deteriorated further from there. For instance, when one person's eggs--which had been incorrectly prepared with cheese--arrived with no cheese, we kindly requested they be remade. Shockingly, the waiter refused outright, stating he would not redo the order nor remove it from our bill. If that wasn't bad enough, he went on to suggest we would receive poor service like this regardless of where we dined--a claim entirely untrue based on our many other dining experiences elsewhere. Given the escalating tension, we asked to speak with the manager to resolve the situation. Unfortunately, the response was even more disheartening. The waiter brusquely declared himself to be the manager and outright refused to take any action to address our concerns. Hoping for someone with more authority to intervene reasonably, we then requested to speak with the owner. However, the owner was equally dismissive and maintained that his server couldn't possibly have spoken to us in such a disrespectful manner--even going so far as to deny any wrongdoing entirely. When I pointed out that the server's behavior suggested he might have been having a bad day but ought to remain respectful to customers regardless, I was met with indifference. I tried to explain how critical customer service is--especially when tourists like us choose to spend money supporting local businesses--but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Ultimately, things reached a breaking point when another guest at the restaurant ask us to leave, as no resolution. It was such a shame because, truthfully, the food itself was quite good. Unfortunately, no amount of culinary quality can compensate for the poor treatment we received from both staff and management alike. To think that we originally planned to purchase some of their locally made jam as a show of support for their business--it now feels inconceivable that we'd contribute any further after such an appalling episode. To sum up: while the food may meet expectations for taste, the dismissive attitude makes this establishment one to avoid at all costs. If you value being treated kindly or even with basic professionalism, steer clear and take your business elsewhere where it will truly be appreciated.

The customer service was unhelpful and dismissive when I tried to ask questions and resolve my issue. Instead of trying to assist, the staff were rude and unwilling to address the problem. What concerned me most was the way I was spoken to and treated, which came across as discriminatory and unprofessional. No customer should feel uncomfortable or unwelcome because they are from another state. I would not recommend this company based on my experience. I hope they take steps to improve their customer service and ensure that all customers are treated fairly and respectfully.

I've been coming to Empire Edge Grill for years and it never disappoints…read more My go-to order is the Empire breakfast sandwich and it is so good. I get it on ciabatta with bacon and their bacon is actually quality crispy, flavorful, not flimsy. The chipotle aioli is what really makes it though. So good. Heads up: this sandwich is big. Like, if you're not a big eater, you could easily split it. I didn't even finish mine and gave about a quarter to my mom It's perfect if you're about to have an active day and need something filling. I also ordered a medium matcha with vanilla and my total came out to about $20, which is a little pricey in my opinion but the portion size makes up for it. The matcha was good, but quick tip: if you like your drinks sweet, make sure to ask for sugar or flavor. I always forget and end up with a bitter drink lol. Everyone here is always super nice and welcoming. I genuinely have nothing bad to say about this place. I go here often and already plan to be back in a couple weeks. Solid food, big portions, good vibes. Highly recommend.

As I pulled the sandwich out to eat in the MJ parking lot, I looked around at the jealous people to see what I was eating. We came to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. Donna and Brian were so thoughtful and professional. They made sure we had everything we needed and wanted for our stay. The xc skiing at Devil's Thumb has always been a favorite for us, as far back as the 70's when it was just a rustic ski trail system with a small nordic supply shop. In recent years it became a full fledged resort with lodging where we have often stayed. We have also stayed in Winter Park, about 15 minutes away and driven over to ski. But we have now found our new favorite option. This is such a lovely place, both the facility and the charming staff. It is a better price value for us than some of the other options in the area, yet more than a simple motel in town. You know, like Goldilocks, "just right." I especially want to note that the (included) breakfast that host John cooks for the guests was wonderful, some sweet, some savory, warm, homemade, natural and ample for the start of even an hearty ski day. They take note in advance of special food needs and serve with a choice of time options. The log style of the building is rustic but nicely furnished. The rooms are well designed and furnished with high quality linens and have lots of storage as some guests stay for weeks. The views from each room are very pretty, some to the Continental Divide, some to the woodland. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. The central lounge area was large, comfortable, attractive and clean and with a central fireplace. There are also some other smaller gathering areas to sit and talk or read if you wish to be outside your room. And there are also some family and dog friendly cabins on site if you want more than a bedroom. Personally, the rooms in the main inn are just right for my needs. We will absolutely be back. It is convenient to local xc skiing and also just a 15 minute drive past the Winter Park Resort and not far at all from several quality dinner options. We met other guests using the lodging for all of these reasons.
