PLEASE read this review before you consider even looking into buying a car from Carvana. I tried this site out a few weeks ago: Found a car, saw that it checked out on the Carfax sheet, gave Carvana my info (Name, income made, how much down, delivery address, and scheduled the delivery. While the car was being delivered I looked at the Carfax again and noticed there was a warning about the odometer being rolled back (WHAT?). I checked the records of the car and apparently, the previous owner rolled back the odometer by 20,000 miles! Then actually sold it to Carvana! Okay, yes I did not see that on the Carfax at first: what corporate company would even take a car knowing it was rolled back 20,000+ miles? I didn't expect that from this company, so I didn't even detail-check the Carfax. The Carfax showed that the car passed. The car arrived a day late from the delivery date. I thought: "I will just test drive the car anyway, 43,000 miles is not too bad for a Subaru" (I bought it thinking the miles were 24,000 as Carvana had it listed). I drive the car on the freeway and the car starts shaking when I break. I find out that this car is going to need fricken breaks! When my wife did her Subura breaks, the cost ran her $1000 dollars! So I immediately ordered the car to be picked up, in which Carvana did. I found another Subaru and picked it out as my "Car Swap". I fill out the EXACT same information and process as I did when I got the first car. All I had to do is show proof of insurance for the new car (now I have to change my insurance from the car I just returned, to the new one). All good, Carvana said I had 4 days to turn in proof of my insurance (cool). BUT WAIT! Just the next day after purchasing a swap car, Carvana sends me a notice that I have till the end of the day (on day 2) to show proof of my insurance. I was on the road at the time, so I had to fricken call my insurance company (which was closing in 30 minutes) and quickly have them switch the car insurance into this new car. I showed Carvana proof of the insurance then they write me back stating my name did not show on the insurance card; the deadline expired and I no longer was able to have the car delivered at the date and time I requested. The next day I got the proper documents with my name on the insurance card. NOW, Carvana is asking me for extra information (that it did not ask me the first time when I bought the car). It wanted bank statements. Since this was not asked of me with the first AND SECOND car I purchased, I refused to present that info (I was buying the car with inheritance money). Talking To Customer Service: I waited for of 1hr and 17 minutes to reach someone. I was passed down to a couple agents. Finally, this cocky/arrogant dude gets on the phone and he acts just like a car salesman: Trying to make it seem like it was my fault. He stated that this extra information Carvana wanted was a glitch in the system. He said the glitch happens all the time. BULL, this is a multi-million dollar company with commercials all over the place, and you tell me that it has glitches in the system often, that suddenly misses information for someone buying a car? BULL! This guy starts patronizing, me, laughing at what I'm saying, trying to mimic my words, even stating how his dad passed away 3 years ago, trying to sympothize with me. This experience is starting to feel like a used car lot purchase. I actually saw myself standing on the hot lot, trying to explain to this "Larry" (Three's Company) how he is trying to mess me over on a car. It was exactly what I DID NOT want: The vultures who pick you out when you arrive, the person who takes you for a test drive trying to sell you the car, and the manager who tries to bully you into purchasing the car. I end up just hanging up with this dude, and before he got off the phone, he did not just ask for my bank info, he even asked for my business (or a business) license! WTF? Even with the second dude, they passed on to me, he ignores what I'm saying and says "how do you wish to proceed with this"; like literally saying "talk to the hand". I am seeing similar stories here in the reviews: Great service in the beginning, and then flopping. This is why there are so many 1 star reviews. Recently I went to Carmax, found myself a cool car, and everything went smoothly as planned. This is my 3rd time dealing with Carmax (sold a couple of cars there) and it has always been a good experience. But the experience was nothing like your average car lot. Bottom Line Story: The reason why Carvana did not ask me for the extra information the first time, is they were fricken trying to unload a rollback odometer car on me! I reserved the second car, then purchased it, but compared to other cars, the price was low (it was a decent car for the price). I will say I work for this company. I started April 20 however, even when I started, I was told that we'll have to work every other Saturday or one weekend every other weekend I was never explained or told that I have to work every weekend however they called you with different shifts that were available. I lived all the way in Maricopa, Arizona when I chose to take on this job, but however, I wanted to shift that would fit my needs so I didn't have to get up too early because of me driving an hour away. I have to get up like two hours prior to my shift just to be there on time however I didn't have a problem with that. I was there every day. I think I only missed two days during training one and a half I believe Remind you during training, they let you listen to calls of other employees like bad calls good cause I got a call on May 14 during training with a lady calling and cursing me really badly verbally calling me on my name. I let her vent I let her do all that the only thing I stated was are you done so I can start verifying you getting verified seeing how I can assist however she called me a bitch after that to them that was a horrible cough because of me asking her what she done yet they fired me for that as of today. May 19, 2026 I feel like they want you to get verbally abused by customers because they are scamming customers out of vehicles. I was behind the scenes and those people were getting cars. Literally haven't had them a week or a month and the cars were breaking down literally I've got causes of people saying they're sewing Carvana all kinds of things. My thing is I don't blame them cause I'm in the process of suing Toyota as we speak because of the same behavior it's horrible service horrible customer service they try to hide hold their standard high, but you guys have a high tunnel rate you guys can't keep people because of the way you guys want people to go over and beyond and lie to these customers because you guys are shitty. It's a horrible place to work for. It's a horrible place to get a car for I wouldn't recommend it to nobody. They say you can move up in a company. I don't believe it. I could read a room and I could tell for being there a couple weeks I wasn't gonna last there they keep you on the eight point system as far as attendance and policy like people don't have lives. It's crazy. I've heard people saying that they deny their leave or their vacation time.Yeah it is. Just a horrible place i am not mad about being fired i am mas about the reason behind it i got verbally abused i heard worse calls and i got fired all because i told. A customer was she done yet is. I needed a car quickly and gave up my spring break to complete the transaction, plus I didn't want the stress of the dealership experience. Initially the Carvana experience was smooth, but that quickly changed: 1. My bank required a simple document from Carvana before completing the paperwork for Carvana - the bank made this very clear, and I directly forwarded their exact message to Carvana but still I had to call 3 separate occasions because Carvana wouldn't do what was asked which was stressful. 2. I was told repeatedly I could make changes to the delivery address with no problem. When I attempted to change just the street address not the city or state with plenty of notice, I was told the sale would have to be canceled and restarted to make the delivery changes which could result in someone else purchasing the same car so I made due eventhough I was promised something else. 3. Then while in transition, the car's paint was damaged. The delivery person took pics and promised Carvana's coverage of damages so I accepted the vehicle. But while working with their warranty company SilverRock they also have not been transparent eventhough I sent them the approved repair facility's estimate. And when I let them know a Nissan rep said it could take up to 2 weeks to repair and that's if the parts aren't backordered and if they can fit me in asap so I would need a rental car, they gave me info about what rental expenses they would cover which was short of the 2 weeks a Nissan rep estimated which puts the burden on me eventhough Carvana admitted to being responsible for the damages and it was reported immediately on delivery. SilverRock has given me a deadline of early May to get the damages repaired, eventhough they're the ones delaying the repairs by not responding to the estimates sent. 4. Being out of town, I choose to pay an extra fee to have Carvana handle the registration - they once again promised an easy process. April 15 I was notified that registration was delayed due to missing paperwork not mentioned earlier. Paperwork that needed my signature and me to return to town to have the car inspected by a Nevada agency. Not sure why this wasn't mentioned at delivery or available then so I could sign it since I signed other paperwork. Also they require an online notary which they said would contact me through email which hasn't happened yet which I constantly remind them of with no response. Carvana keeps contacting me, urging me to complete the additional paperwork, but after tracking the parcel, which they have access to, it is clear that FedEx hasn't delivered the parcel yet. I'm still waiting for the FedEx delivery so I can complete the process on my end, not sure if Carvana will do the same. I have been transparent and quick to respond on my end just expected more from Carvana. Hopefully this will be the end of miscommunication, inconsistencies, inconveniences, and delays but the process so far proves otherwise. read more

DO NOT purchase a car from Carvana EVER. I purchased a beautiful-looking vehicle from Carvana. Shortly after, I took it in to have a minor cosmetic repair from a parking lot incident fixed on my bumper and the mechanic discovered SIGNIFICANT frame damage to the vehicle. The mechanic told me that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and refused to work on it because it was so unsafe that it was a LIABILITY TO THEIR SHOP. The mechanic who looked over the vehicle in my 7-day window missed this because the damage was hidden so well under the exterior panels of the vehicle. I was still in my 100-day warranty window and the warranty provider DECLINED MY CLAIM BECAUSE THE DAMAGE WAS CLEARLY FROM THE ACCIDENT PRIOR TO ME OBTAINING MY VEHICLE. Carvana advertises that they do not sell vehicles with frame damage. I learned later that their "150 point inspection" does not include the FRAME OF THE VEHICLE. I have been back and forth with Carvana for a MONTH awhile I do not have a safe vehicle to drive. It seems like they are playing a waiting game to get me out of my 100-day warranty period. Get on Reddit and you will see the countless similar stories from people dealing with Carvana. I've been passed around from agent-to-agent, department-to-department. The person I'm supposed to be working with will be "running meetings", "late to work", "in a meeting", "on a call", "out to lunch", "not at his desk and not sure why", etc. FOR A MONTH awhile I am making payments on a vehicle that I can't even drive. I've had THREE different mechanics tell me and provide documentation to Carvana saying my vehicle is unsafe and has significant frame damage and this wasn't enough. PLEASE do not buy from Carvana. I've learned SO much about them from this experience. They resell cars that were returned to them with known issues and resell them without fixing the issues. Their "in-network" warranty shops are on Carvana's side because their contracts bring them in major money. They buy cars from rental car companies who are self-insured so they will report an accident to Carfax as 'minor' even though it was a severe accident and then botch the vehicle back together in their own shops and sell it to Carvana. Carvana buys from auctions and does not thoroughly inspect their cars. And then when you have an issue, it's impossible to get responses from their Customer "Advocates". Now, I'm stuck with a vehicle that I morally cannot resell knowing that it has frame damage and now need to go out and purchase ANOTHER vehicle and at this point.. I'm just buying a brand new car. Carvana is the most corrupt company I have ever dealt with. read more

Ive had nothing but issues with my Carvana purchase. First, I found a car and was approved for financing. My husband's car (which was also purchased through Carvana) was going to be used for the trade-in and the new car was going into my name. No Problem. Delivery was scheduled for a Sunday, 4 days later. Sunday came and I got a call stating that there had been an issue with the car Hauler and they were unable to deliver my car on that day. Instead of scheduling it or the next day, they delayed it until Thursday. I called again Wednesday night to confirm the delivery of the new car and the pick up of the old car. No Problem. Thursday morning I got onto my account to check on the delivery and they entirely canceled my order. I called them and they state multiple times its their fault and they were going to fix it, but they were going to delay it AGAIN. On top of that, they were no longer honoring the trade in and wanted me to put $500 down on the car without the trade in. I had already paid $700 to do it as a trade-in to pay the negative equity. I explain that and they don't care. They did waive the down-payment due to their error. I insist on driving to pick the car up instead as it was about 90 minutes from my location. After about 4 hours on the phone I finally got this approved. The facility that has the car calls me and tells me that last Sunday when the car was delivered to their facility, the Hauler damaged the car. That was the real reason for the delay. They take pictures and say they will have their insurance pay for it. When the insurance company calls me, they know nothing of the damages reported. Carvana never sent the pictures in. I had also filed a complaint with the BBB before and now they refuse to let me talk to anyone but the Case Manager assigned to me, who I have only talked to once and now refuses to call back. After buy a 3rd car, a Tesla Model 3, it has come to my attention that they are scamming these customers. This is the very reason why Elon does not want his beautiful cars being misrepresented by 3rd party dealers like Carvana who intentionally defraud their clients and rip people off. If you purchased a Model 3 from them you should double check what they sold you and the specifications of the car. Which you can easily do with the help of cross checking the VIN number with Tesla. +++ Model 3 cars that are standard range are advertised and being sold as long range cars+++ -- This is False Advertising -- DO NOT blindly trust their sales team, they are intentionally defrauding customers. Look closely The company claims that mine was a clerical error and tried to offer me $500.00 after damaging my credit and wasting hours of my time dealing with their scam. I proceeded to review their site, and quickly found 3 other cars that they were also falsely advertising as long range when they are in fact standard range. Sadly people have already purchased Model 3 cars thinking they have the long range battery and they do not. If my mom would have purchased a car from them, she would have never known how to check something like on her own, it would have been just another person they scammed and got away with it. Please remember when buying a EV that the battery does degrade over time. If you start with a car that is suppose to have over 320 miles.. in 5 years and a lot of miles.. that battery usually degrades about 10 percent from its max range.. so starting off around 70 miles less is a HUGE difference even if you don't plan on traveling with the car on long trips. read more

Worst company that I have ever dealt with when it comes to buying a vehicle!!!! I have had better experiences at shady dealers than this POS company. My date kept getting moved back to pick up my car and on the day I went to pick it up, the wrong car was delivered. I was buying an S class Mercedes and they sent an E class and in the wrong color! I was then told the car was only a few hours away and would be delivered the next day and I could pick it up. I called the local vending office and was told it should be on the way. Then a few hours later Carvana called and said it would be another week before they could get the car to our location! I then called the local vendor again who assured me the car was still on target to arrive that night. I will say he was very nice and helpful and even called me back after he left work to tell me the car didn't arrive and it would be delivered in 7 days. No one seems to know where the hell the car is but he said it looked like it was sitting at one of their inspection stations in GA. The station is literally 30 mins from me BUT Carvana will not hand deliver it or let me pick it up. Dumbest shit I have ever heard. This was a 60K purchase which I take seriously and they don't seem to give a rats ass that they inconvenience you. Oh, to top it off, I sold my other car the same day due to the fact that I was assured that my new car would be here today. So now I am carless and we are supposed to pick up my mother in law who has dementia and take her to the family house for Christmas dinner. Way to go Carvana! DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE SCAMMERS!!! They will sell you a lemon and if you don't catch the issue within 7 days they will say the only way to get rid of the car to sell it back to them. Of course they will low ball you. You pay $25k for a car then they buy it back from you for about $4k just to turn around and sell it again for $25k since there aren't many miles on it due to you only having it A MONTH! With a slimy greedy company like this, comes a slimy LIMITED-WARRANTY! SilverRock is absolute TRASH!!! They contradict themselves by saying that they pay diagnostic fees whether an issue is found or not. They don't! They refused to pay for my diagnostic because the mechanic could not provide them a specific code that the car showed. My car has an internal electrical issue! Of course, one specific code will not pop up, instead over 76 codes pop up and spook the machine because it has an electrical issue. SilverRock wants you to pay the diagnostic, and wants you to pay the rental up front. thats $1200 I've spent on a car that I have had only A MONTH! That doesn't include my monthly payment. But if we add that in, I've already paid $1650 in a month's time and I haven't even gotten it registered; which will be even more money I'd have to dish out. Do not buy from them! They buy cars from an auction and people selling their cars in any condition, shine them up, claim they pass a 150 point inspection done by their own corrupt techs, then sell it to you for the value of that car as if it were working in great shape. Avoid Carvana at All Costs - Unsafe, Unchecked Cars & Useless Customer Service I'm extremely disappointed with my experience buying a car from Carvana.com. They promote their so-called "150-point inspection" like it's some industry gold standard, but based on what I received, I'm honestly questioning if they even looked at the car. Within just the 1st day of ownership, I discovered: Warped front and rear brakes that made the entire car shake violently every time I touched the brake pedal. It's not a small issue -- a full safety hazard. Worn-out windshield wipers with rubber literally hanging off. The first rain showed they were completely unusable. That's something a basic visual check should catch. When I contacted Carvana's customer service, they acted like none of this was surprising -- like they were used to people calling about busted cars. There was no urgency, no ownership, and no real concern. Just scripted responses and hollow apologies. Thankfully, I was still within their 7-day return window, so I wasn't completely stuck with a lemon. But let's be real -- no one should have to deal with unsafe brakes and failing parts on a car that just passed some supposed 150-point inspection. Carvana sells you on convenience, but underneath that slick app and delivery service is a company that's clearly cutting corners. I'll never use them again, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who values safety, quality, or customer support. read more

If all of the phone calls(I made about 10) are recorded how come this miscommunication can't be rectified? I feel like I have been taken advantage of and made out to be a fool. I purchased my vehicle 2 weeks ago and tomorrow our temporary tag expires. Carvana said they mailed the new tag on 9/7 and it takes 10-15 business days to get to us. Well, 10 days plus 9/7 would put us at 9/17 or 3 days PAST the day the temporary tag expires. I was told today that they cannot give us another temporary tag to replace this one with so we are out of luck driving the vehicle they sold to us. Or we can drive this vehicle to the DMV on an expired tag to get a duplicate but obviously driving on an expired tag is illegal so I'm not sure why Carvana would want us to do something illegal. They refused to provide me with another temporary tag, they refused to give us the tracking for the tag they supposedly sent us. Their app says they will provide a temporary tag...obviously they do not and the app also says for us to notify them if we do not recieve the tag by 10/22... over a month from now. Customer service did as good a job as they could but recieved no support, no help and no advice other than to drive the only car we have now up to the dmv on an expired tag to get something they refused to track to ebsure it got to us. I really hate leaving this review. We bought our first car from Carvana and the process was wonderful. I don't know what they are doing now but the communication and how our registration was handled is horrible. read more

What an absolutely atrocious company. Full of scammers. I cannot believe the experience that I had with them. I ordered a vehicle to purchase, with a trade in. It was falsely advertised as 4wd. Upon arrival, I noticed that it was 2wd. They want to take your trade in quickly while you inspecting the new vehicle. The man working was hurriedly doing the paperwork and trying to take my car. I noticed the issue, and rejected the vehicle. The man gave me back my keys, insurance, and license, but kept my title. He said "a manager will have to call you tomorrow for the rest." NO ONE EVER CALLED ME. Countless calls to their customer service, texts to their chat line. I even went back into the storefront. Every representative that I spoke to acted so apologetic and concerned and promised me that management would contact me within the hour to help me. It's been over a week now. I have continued to call. Finally after calling yet again and demanding a manager, I spoke to someone who told me, "you'll have to just file for a lost title. Your title is gone. You should be able to get one quickly through the dmv. It's not a problem." Their blatant disregard for the ethics of their business is astounding. The worst experience EVER!!!! I put $100 on a pre-order to be the first to purchase a specific car. I completed the purchase and car was scheduled to be delivered in three days. At the time I thought "how wonderful" this is working out great. Two days before delivery I receive a text that the car has been delayed and I would get a call from a rep. They called to reschedule and first available date for delivery was over a week away which meant I would have to go without a car because I had already sold mine. Once again, three days before scheduled delivery I get a message that delivery has been delayed again. This happened four times. Yes, FOUR times. I asked for compensation to rent a car which they would not do because they said the contract states they aren't liable for delays. Also, customer service was horrible, every time I called I'd be on hold for at least an hour. This situation left me without a car for almost two weeks which could have turned out to be longer had I not cancelled the purchase. And I had to keep changing the start date on my insurance policy because the delivery date kept changing which I ended up getting charged for a car I never received. Just had a terrible experience attempting to buy a Toyota Sienna from Carvana. Don't buy from them! It may look simple and easy, buying a car online, but the reality was quite different. And in the end, they are apparently NOT delivering a car to us today at 5pm (as indicated in the confirmation they sent us two weeks ago!). As far as we knew, the car was on its way but they in fact have sold it to someone else! We even sold our second car expecting this one to arrive today but discovered yesterday that they didn't put our sale through. And we wouldn't have even known that if I hadn't stumbled across something in my account that said that our car was unavailable for purchase. So bizarre. And as others have said, if you call them, you're on hold for ages, and if you chat them, they take awhile for a human to get back to you. Also note that the reviews they show online are only from people who have managed to actually buy a car. For those of us that wasted our time attempting to buy a car but didn't ultimately get one, there's no way to post a review. So they totally misrepresent themselves to customers. read more

A very positive experience with a good price. I was a little annoyed that, when I asked online if I'd have time to come up with the registration for my trade (which resides in our safety deposit box), the answer was yes and then I found out that this would only be 24 hours (this was on a Saturday). Otherwise, excellent! Delivery 'associate' was JACOB out of Phoenix. Friendly, accommodating (kept me informed where he was, when he'd arrived and was kind when he caught that I'd missed one signature). He kept social distancing issues in force while being friendly and positive. He reiterated the various policies (such as the various warranties) in a friendly and informational manner. Really enjoyed the transition. All other reps were excellent: not one concern with any of your people: kudos! I came to Carvana after doing a lot of looking, calling dealerships, arguing with salespeople, etc. I know the price I received was reasonable. We're enjoying our new ride (even though we're not 'riding' much!) and are now Carvana fans. We've posted our appreciation and have told many. Well done, Carvana! read more

Overall, the process was easy and smooth - from the approval process to uploading documents. Delivery day was exciting and the rep that brought my new car was fantastic - he was friendly and knowledgeable. I've just passed my "7 days", so I guess it's really mine now. My only complaint about all of this is that whatever the inside of the car was cleaned with, it smells awful. I had the drop-off at my office, which is about an hour away from home. By the time I got home the first evening, I had a massive headache and had to change my shirt to get away from the smell. The next couple of days I drove with the windows down to clear out the scent. Now it's only a mild scent that's much more bearable than day 1 and doesn't make me sick driving with the windows up. I would use Carvana again. I liked the process and I'd recommend to others - we have used Carvana for several fleet vehicles and it's always worked out well. read more

We recently purchased a vehicle from Carvana and unfortunately our experience has been very disappointing. The car was delivered pulling hard to the right, making it difficult to drive safely. Carvana required us to take it to one of their in-network shops for inspection, but the shop only performed a tire balance and alignment, even though the steering issue clearly wasn't resolved. When we asked for a second opinion, Carvana refused to cover the cost, leaving us stuck with a car that still has problems and no real resolution. We were shocked that instead of helping us get the car properly diagnosed and fixed, they pushed back and expected us to cover expenses for issues the vehicle already had at delivery. Buying a car online is supposed to be convenient and trustworthy -- but instead, this has been stressful and costly. We would not recommend Carvana to anyone based on our experience. read more
