Vehicle pick up
MIchael G.

Selling my vehicle to Carvana was incredibly easy and stress-free. The initial offer was exactly what I was hoping for. They did reduce it by $300 after inspecting the hail damage (fair enough), but even then it still met my goal and what I realistically expected for the car. The pickup agent was kind, professional, and very organized. He called 30 minutes before arriving, showed up exactly when he said he would, completed the inspection using the Carvana survey, presented the updated offer, and had me sign the revised paperwork on the spot. The bank wire was sent immediately, and I received confirmation from both Carvana and my bank that the money was on its way. The entire process took about 30 minutes total and required maybe two minutes of my actual time. No dealership, no waiting around, no pressure. After the pickup, I asked if I had needed to clean the car beforehand. Turns out I didn't. I had spent three hours cleaning it for no reason -- so learn from me and don't stress about needing to clean it.. The convenience and peace of mind were amazing. I'd absolutely use Carvana again. Thanks Carvana

The car arrived shortly after the delivery agent called to say he was on his way. It was clean inside and out.

I just purchased a new (to me) vehicle from Carmax this week. I spent the last couple months doing…read moremy own research, then all of December in negotiations with Mike High Acura just to have the WORST experience and they sold the car from under me. The first car I bought was through Carmax and it lasted me 10 years with no problems and I was ready to go back to Carmax and upgrade to something a bit bigger, better in the snow and a more luxe driving experience. Munir helped me with my first couple test drives, made sure to ask me what I was looking for and for why so maybe he could bring some options to me. I had Munir then transfer a vehicle from a neighboring Carmax for a test drive (that I was 90% sure I was going to love and purchase). This transferred vehicle only took two days to ship in and be ready for a test drive. Unfortunately I wasn't able to continue working with Munir since he was not scheduled that day and Chris Sioros took over the last half of my shopping experience. Chris was fantastic and super attentive to any questions I had and even helped me arrange a Lyft from work to Carmax so I could finish my purchase and leave in the car. I absolutely love my new car and the helpful experience that Munir and Chris gave me. I'd say that the only small downside to my experience was that, I had come back from the test drive and was approached by a completely new employee (sales or management, I'm not sure) and was a bit aggressively questioning which choice I would make, stressing that I should purchase now and that they wouldn't hold the vehicle for me (3-5 standard holding time) and that the bank took 3-5 days to process so I was urged to finance through Carmax and then come back with a check. I was trying to explain that I had already communicated with my bank and that the funds would be available and I would be bringing a check but it felt like I was just being pressured to purchase the car and finance it so I "wouldn't lose the car". The whole point of me shopping at carmax was to NOT be pressured by an aggressive salesman when I know exactly what I'm looking for and for what price is in my budget. This employee almost ruined a sale for the salesmen that were fantastic in helping me because even though I wanted a new car, I didn't need it and I certainly didn't need to feel pressured into it when I'm spending $40k. All that to say, you catch more flies with honey and I don't need to be approached by anymore employees unless they were working with me directly. Anyways, my pick up last night was very easy. I did most of my paperwork online, final walk through and a few more signatures when I got there and handing the check over and I got the keys! THANK YOU CHRIS AND MUNIR for getting me in my new car!

About three weeks after purchasing the truck, and with only about 700 miles of driving, we…read moreexperienced a serious battery connection problem while towing our camper on Father's Day weekend. The issue caused significant damage and could have become a much larger safety concern. It was an incredibly frustrating experience, and while there may be differing opinions about whether something like this could have been identified during the Blue Certified inspection, I appreciate that Freeway Ford took the time to review everything carefully and hear our concerns. What really stood out to me was how Freeway Ford handled the situation. Even though they weren't required to do so, they agreed to cover half of the repair costs as a gesture of goodwill. That willingness to work with us and help reach a fair resolution says a lot about how they value their customers. I especially want to recognize Dustin, our sales manager. He has been fantastic from the day we purchased the truck through the resolution of this issue. He has been responsive, honest, accommodating, and consistently kept us informed throughout the entire process. It's clear he genuinely cares about his customers and wants to do the right thing. I also want to thank Joe, the service manager, for taking great care of us. He thoroughly inspected the truck, addressed our concerns, and made sure everything was corrected so we could leave feeling confident the issue had been resolved and wouldn't happen again. His professionalism and attention to detail were greatly appreciated. While no one hopes to experience an unexpected repair so soon after purchasing a vehicle, what matters most is how a dealership responds when something does happen. Dustin, Joe, and the entire team at Freeway Ford handled a difficult situation professionally and fairly, and for that, we're grateful. Thank you for standing behind your customers.

My experience with Freeway Ford went from pushy to genuinely disturbing…read more I initially requested information about a used 2025 Ford Explorer ST. Before anyone from the dealership contacted me, I looked up the CARFAX report myself and saw that the vehicle had been listed as a manufacturer buyback/lemon-law vehicle. The dealership began contacting me through phone calls and text messages, although I had not consented to receiving texts. I explained that I had reviewed the vehicle's history, was no longer interested, and would be passing. That should have ended the conversation. Instead, after I said I was not interested by text, dealership employee Michael Holguin called me three times within a single minute. I was in the middle of my workday and repeatedly declined the calls, yet he immediately called again each time. A manager identifying himself as Joe also placed me into a three-way text conversation with Michael, turning a simple "no" into a two-against-one sales pitch. They repeatedly pressured me to speak with them by phone so they could "explain" why I should reconsider. I said I wasn't interested. I asked them to stop calling. I asked them to stop messaging me. Joe then contacted me again through a separate message thread. In that message, he dismissed the vehicle's history as being the result of a "dumb law" and continued trying to change my mind--even though I had already explicitly told him to leave me alone. My phone was then bombarded with eight No Caller ID calls in approximately four minutes, along with an unwanted FaceTime attempt. It appeared that my number had been placed into a robocaller. Every time I pressed "ignore," another call followed. I told Joe directly that his behavior was creepy and embarrassing, but the unwanted contact continued despite my repeated requests that it stop. This behavior was invasive, intimidating, and completely disrespectful of my privacy. I owed this dealership no explanation for declining the vehicle, yet I gave them one anyway. They simply would not take no for an answer. Not only will I not buy this vehicle, I will never buy another vehicle from this dealership--no matter what. I have screenshots documenting the messages and call history, and I strongly recommend taking your business and personal information somewhere else.

Before I jump into my disappointment, I want to give kudos to Alexis, who was super professional…read moreand very transparent about the process and what to expect. She was the best part of this experience. I have an older car (2000 w/ 147k miles) that has mechanical issues that aren't worth the cost of fixing, which is why I'm selling it. it's also not cosmetically the best and honestly, its value is in the parts. I had originally considered selling this vehicle earlier this year and got an initial offer that was around $600, then got an increased offer for $800 within a couple of days. I decided not to sell it at that time, so I was surprised when I redid my estimate a couple months later, the offer came back at $800 again. After reading all of these amazing reviews, I felt like I could trust this place and get a decent price for my car. Because of the mechanical problems, I went in expecting that the offer might come down a little bit, but not more than a couple hundred bucks. After Alexis did her complete inspection, she walked me through what she found and showed me a screen where they were estimating that about $7500 would need to be put in to refurbish this vehicle. And then offered me $100 for it. There is no way this vehicle is worth refurbishing, so it felt like a clear bait and switch so they could make a profit on selling it for parts. When I said I would accept no less than $600, they upped the offer to $300 so I thanked Alexis for her time and left. I don't think anybody should realistically expect to get an offer almost 90% lower, even though the platform doesn't allow you to put in enough detail to get a realistic offer to begin with. I would've much rather preferred to have a low estimate and walked in and got a better offer. I sold my car to a competitor and got the price I was looking for. *Adding to this review following the below response from the owner. The intake form on the website does not allow for much detail in disclosing things that are wrong with the vehicle that would impact the overall valuation. Additionally, the mechanical issues were disclosed to Stuart on the phone when confirming the appointment and he did confirm that the inspection could change the overall offer, which again, I was expecting. The website does not make clear that they are really only looking for vehicles that have a resale value. Even so, I have to reiterate that they would not buy my car for $100, put $7500 into it, only to be able to sell it for roughly $2500 (top value on KBB if they did all the work they claim they would do). That would be a ridiculously stupid business decision. They essentially offered me a disposal fee. Most people that are looking to sell their vehicles through a service like this are looking to sell because the resale value is low. But thanks for gaslighting me, Kevin!

Working with Macy at H M Brown was the best car-buying experience I've ever had…read more I found a few cars I liked on the site, and Macy brought them all to my house for test drives. I handled the financing from home too--filled out a quick form online and heard back within hours with a rate lower than anything I'd found shopping around myself. Once we found the car I wanted (a 2024 Mazda in perfect condition), wrapping everything up was incredibly easy. No hidden fees like you get at other dealers. The only time I had to visit their location was to pick up my car and sign a couple papers. This was my first time buying from H M Brown, but now I'm a customer for life.

Extremely disappointing experience with HM Brown Automotive…read more I was purchasing a vehicle through another dealership that had confirmed the vehicle was available in HM Brown's inventory. HM Brown was aware that the other dealership had a buyer for the vehicle and was proceeding with the sale. The next day, when the dealership contacted HM Brown to arrange transportation, they were told that HM Brown had sold the vehicle to someone else. To be clear, this wasn't simply a situation where a vehicle happened to sell before we could buy it. HM Brown knew there was an active transaction involving the vehicle and another dealership, yet chose to sell it out from under that transaction. I understand that dealerships want to sell vehicles, but I also expect businesses to operate with integrity and honor their commitments. This experience made it very clear that I could not trust HM Brown Automotive to do so. I would not recommend this dealership, and based on this experience, I would be very hesitant to do business with them in the future.

I'm putting Pentagon Federal Credit Union, Autopay and Hyundai on blast…read more... This credit union was ok until it wasn't. I obtained a Hyundai Tucson in 2018 and did a refinance through Autopay in 2020 who connected me with PFCU. All was good until the vehicle had some mechanical issues and neither did the Autopay gap insurance or warranty with PFCU cover anything. This happened twice and I had to take out two repair loans to fix the issues; of which I am still paying off. Hyundai cars from year 2014 - 2017 have had various recalls and major mechanical issues reported for the last few years. Hyundai dealership was not helpful either. As of February 2023 the vehicle malfunctioned again, and definitely could not afford another repair loan. Thus I contacted PFCU to ask for a voluntary Repo and they stated to try and sell it myself first because that's their company policy. I took 2 weeks and tried to get a buyer and no one was interested. During that time, I asked for a deferment of payment and PFCU granted that request for one month. I had to obtain another car which is $400 more than what I was paying for the old one. Thus I called PFCU and spoke again to the collections dept to update them about the situation and advise that I can no longer pay for a vehicle that has a transmission issue and is too dangerous to drive when it is shaking with a loud ticking noise. The voluntary repo paperwork was signed electronically and put in process. They even discontinued the credit card that I had through them, of which both were in good standing before all this transpired. I have spoken to 2-3 reps between Feb and now June who stated that the voluntary repo was in process and every conversation was notated of what i said, and today 6/7/23 I spoke to yet another rep who said that she only saw the call from February. She said that the company will not come get the vehicle if it doesnt work and that the car note is over due 67 days. I told her thats a lie, because the previous reps told me that someone would call me to get the car towed so PFCU will try to sell it as is for what is owed on it. Thus the Tucson has been sitting at my apartment complex since February. I transferred the insurance from the old vehicle to the new one; and PFCU sent a letter stating that they applied insurance to it and that amount would be added to the remaining balance. This is the worst experience I have had with any bank / credit union about a car. If anyone reads this, I highly advise that you do not do any business with them.

AUTOPAY also did not provide the loan I agreed to. Instead, they tried to sell me warranties and…read moreother coverage products. I contacted them to refinance my vehicle, and the process left me feeling misled and pressured to purchase additional products. I am requesting a written explanation of why the agreed-upon loan was not provided, along with identification of the six credit inquiries, the lenders involved, and the authorization relied upon for each pull. I also request that AUTOPAY work with the lenders and credit bureaus to remove any inquiries made without valid authorization or reported in error. Consumers deserve clear loan terms, transparent credit disclosures, and an honest refinancing process. Based on my experience, I would not recommend AUTOPAY.
