About three weeks after purchasing the truck, and with only about 700 miles of driving, we experienced a serious battery connection problem while towing our camper on Father's Day weekend. The issue caused significant damage and could have become a much larger safety concern. It was an incredibly frustrating experience, and while there may be differing opinions about whether something like this could have been identified during the Blue Certified inspection, I appreciate that Freeway Ford took the time to review everything carefully and hear our concerns. What really stood out to me was how Freeway Ford handled the situation. Even though they weren't required to do so, they agreed to cover half of the repair costs as a gesture of goodwill. That willingness to work with us and help reach a fair resolution says a lot about how they value their customers. I especially want to recognize Dustin, our sales manager. He has been fantastic from the day we purchased the truck through the resolution of this issue. He has been responsive, honest, accommodating, and consistently kept us informed throughout the entire process. It's clear he genuinely cares about his customers and wants to do the right thing. I also want to thank Joe, the service manager, for taking great care of us. He thoroughly inspected the truck, addressed our concerns, and made sure everything was corrected so we could leave feeling confident the issue had been resolved and wouldn't happen again. His professionalism and attention to detail were greatly appreciated. While no one hopes to experience an unexpected repair so soon after purchasing a vehicle, what matters most is how a dealership responds when something does happen. My experience with Freeway Ford went from pushy to genuinely disturbing. I initially requested information about a used 2025 Ford Explorer ST. Before anyone from the dealership contacted me, I looked up the CARFAX report myself and saw that the vehicle had been listed as a manufacturer buyback/lemon-law vehicle. The dealership began contacting me through phone calls and text messages, although I had not consented to receiving texts. I explained that I had reviewed the vehicle's history, was no longer interested, and would be passing. That should have ended the conversation. Instead, after I said I was not interested by text, dealership employee Michael Holguin called me three times within a single minute. I was in the middle of my workday and repeatedly declined the calls, yet he immediately called again each time. A manager identifying himself as Joe also placed me into a three-way text conversation with Michael, turning a simple "no" into a two-against-one sales pitch. They repeatedly pressured me to speak with them by phone so they could "explain" why I should reconsider. I said I wasn't interested. I asked them to stop calling. I asked them to stop messaging me. Joe then contacted me again through a separate message thread. In that message, he dismissed the vehicle's history as being the result of a "dumb law" and continued trying to change my mind--even though I had already explicitly told him to leave me alone. My phone was then bombarded with eight No Caller ID calls in approximately four minutes, along with an unwanted FaceTime attempt. It appeared that my number had been placed into a robocaller. Every time I pressed "ignore," another call followed. I told Joe directly that his behavior was creepy and embarrassing, but the unwanted contact continued despite my repeated requests that it stop. This behavior was invasive, intimidating, and completely disrespectful of my privacy. I owed this dealership no explanation for declining the vehicle, yet I gave them one anyway. They simply would not take no for an answer. Not only will I not buy this vehicle, I will never buy another vehicle from this dealership--no matter what. On March 31, 2026, Barbee's Freeway Ford of Denver sold me an $80K truck with no title and no disclosure of that fact. The VISOR VIN app declared that the truck had been for sale for a full 30 days when I purchased it, but I guess BFF never intended to title the truck in their name. On April 13th, when I attempted to register the truck in my state of Arizona, I was told I must have a paper title from BFF. I contacted salesman Shawn Tuggle, and his text response was simply that "...it takes time to get a title." That is not true when you legally own the vehicle you are selling, because you already hold the title. A BFF title clerk called, and she told me it could take weeks to get the title, and if my CO temp tags expired on May 29th, they could be extended. Later that day, Shawn texted that I would receive a call from "Joe the sales manager". Neither Joe nor any other BFF representative (other than the title clerk) ever called with explanation, update, or apology. CO Revised Statute 42-6-112 requires that a dealership deliver a title to the customer within 30 days. At 30 days, the title still wasn't delivered, and I filed a criminal report with the CO Department of Revenue. By May 14th, BFF still had not delivered a title and were in violation of the law, and my CO temporary tags were fast approaching the May 29th expiration. A criminal investigator with the CO DOR informed me that temporary tags cannot be extended for out-of-state sales, contrary to the lie that the BFF title clerk told. That would leave me with no legal vehicle to operate. Salesman Shawn Tuggle sold me the truck knowing that I was purchasing it from Arizona with the intent of immediately travelling the country full-time with a travel trailer, yet at no point did he or any other representative of BFF disclose that the truck had title issues and that these issues would become mine. As a result, the cross-try RV travel that I purchased the truck for would be foolish to commence. Escalating the situation didn't help. My emails to Director of Operations Brent Danner on April 14 and May 14 were ignored, as were May 14th emails to sales and financing managers Doug Lawrence, Ron Garretsen, and Joe Bejarano. Apparently, avoiding difficult topics gets one promoted at BFF. It was not until May 20th, fifty-two days post sale, that BFF delivered a title that should have been delivered at the time of sale. The stress and limitations that FF had caused were very real. I regret buying from Barbee's Freeway Ford of Denver, but I'm sure they have no regrets. They have the eighty thousand, four hundred six dollars and seventy cents that I paid in cash. Mr. Tuggle has his commission, and management was comfortable ignoring me and the hardship they caused. They got me a better deal on financing than I got from my bank. Just a side note, the bathrooms are probably the nicest bathrooms out of any dealership (even a Volvo dealership). Update: It has been 11 days since I raised this concern and have not been contacted. Buyers beware! I worked with Cody Roberts who I thought was a professional and communicative sales manager. I flew out of state to get a 2023 F150 with 22k miles from Freeway Ford that had been sitting for a few months. After asking countless times about specifics, ensuring the state of the truck was as advertised, and that "THERE WOULD BE NO SURPRISES" - to my disappointment and frustration, I was surprised indeed. The truck had panels replaced and/or resprayed after a hail storm. Not only was this not disclosed but also omitted from the CarFax. The roof has dozens of dimples from the impact and the front panels that would have also been affected have no signs of this damage but plenty of signs of overspray. I cannot prove that Freeway Ford did this but the remaining body panels suffer from terrible acid wash due to a cost cutting detailing technique that has left hard water spots and permanently damaged the clear coat of the vehicle. Also because of this acid wash, the seals around the sunroof have disintegrated (so much so you can stick a finger through the seal), the cars plastics have white stains, and the metal bumper looks perpetually dirty and pitted. When I came to pick up the car, I was AGAIN reassured there were no issues and the car was haphazardly detailed to seemingly hide these faults. I spent $4k trying to fix this with a reputable detailer and it still looks terrible. Be cautious when buying their used cars. Its clear they do not pay close attention to the quality of these vehicles or are willing to be upfront about their condition! read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP!!!  They have a policy of refusing to service vehicles older than 15 years in age while at the same time offering financing just as long.  So they are charging $60K for a base Bronco and they view it as disposable.  This company is charging over a $100K for F150s and Ford Expedition or $50K for Mustang and they expect you to just trash it at year 10 after its paid off because your resale value will be non existent and plummet because whomever you sell your car to cant service their car there.  The dealership's excuse is that Ford Corporation stops making parts after 15 years and they don't want to deal with it.  Think about that for a second....  If true, that's a whole different conversation.  If this is their policy, people need to know this before buying a Ford anything. read more

BEWARE!!! i went to Freeway Ford to purchase a used 2022 4 door Bronco Outer Banks softtop on Feb 17. Everything seemed OK. I traded in my car and bought the Bronco. I was driving it until they asked me to come back later the same day to sign 2 documents that my salesperson said was "just routine" and I was eligible for a 12 month/12K mile warranty. This sounded great, but the paper to sign was on top of a large number of other sheets. I looked at the top sheet and it had the word "branded". I open the stack of papers and it shows 3 pages of repairs for water and mold damage, among many other problems. Ford purchased the Bronco back under their buyback program. A Ford dealership is required to disclose a Branded buyback before the customer buys a car. They did not and tried to slide the paperwork for me accepting the branded designation under my nose after the purchase. "Branded" would be on the title if I kept the car, and, from what I understand, no dealer would take it as trade in except for Ford. It's very much like a Lemon Law or Salvage title. Except the Ford title doesn't designate it as such. It's added when I register it. I was leaving for a 4 day trip to the mountains in the new car and fortunately they hadn't cashed the check on my car. Obviously they couldn't until I signed the branded paperwork. I was fairly put out as I had wasted 4+ hours with them and I had out of town guests. What they should have done is told me it was a branded car, and I would have walked away. When I spoke with the Sales Director and said that Branded was like a lemon law buyback, he said he had never heard of states having lemon laws, which is ludicrous given that at least 8 states do. The most sketchy thing is that I asked what I had to sign to undo the deal. The sales manager took all the paperwork, gave me the key and title to my trade-in that I now have, and said I didn't have to sign anything, and that he was going to just shred the stack of papers for the deal. Needless to say, I've spoken with an attorney about this. There were also a large number of rude interactions. For example, I had the second key fob to the returned Bronco at my house and asked if someone could follow me the 3 miles to my house to retrieve it. The sales rep said "you have to bring it back right now or you'll be charged $350". I had guests and had been back and forth 4 times to the dealership. When the sales director gave me my old keys, I asked where it was. He said that it was out back and that I should go get it. I asked politely if someone from his team could get it as I have an injured back. His response was "get it yourself - we don't have people to do that" So, a few lessons. 1. Question all interactions and read all documents. This should be obvious, especially since they don't disclose critical information up front. 2. Don't assume anything close to ethical behavior. 3. Expect rudeness if things don't go the way Freeway's employees want them to go. 4. Again, review all docs and be aware of the Branded designation. I haven't named names here, but those parties know who they are. I have opened a case with Ford corporate and they will be reaching out to Barbee's Freeway's parent company ownership. I imagine this will make its way down to the individuals. I'll keep this thread updated as to what happens on the "we shredded all docs" front. Freeway Ford sold me a truck with a bad engine. I have driven the truck only 150 miles since taking possession. The salesman, Cody Roberts aka Cody White, I thought was awesome. He is a proud Marine, loves guns, loves bacon, loves Trump and is ultra MAGA. He has a sticker on his thermos making fun of liberal tears. My kind of guy. My kind of place to do business as they are MAGA friendly. We shared a bunch of jokes about liberals and had some good laughs. He showed me the truck that I was interested in and told me that the truck is a total unicorn and needs nothing. It has only 44,000 miles on it and it's 15 years old. He said it went through the service department, and everything works as it should. The only thing it needed was a diesel service and a detail. Sounds good, right? I bought the truck for the price he advertised. On the drive home I discovered that it was not as good as it was sold to me. It had a whole bunch of issues. I immediately contacted Cody to inform him about the issues. He spoke to his mechanic, gave me non-answers, and then he dismissed me. He couldn't care less. He ghosted me and I had to call his boss. Cody contacted me only to dismiss me again. He said that I should be happy to pay for all of the repairs considering what a great deal I got on the truck. My mechanic said that it's going to cost me several thousand dollars to fix these issues while it will cost the dealership only hundreds. Cody's mechanic said that these are common issues and are inexpensive to fix. If so inexpensive, then fix them for me or check for the common issues and fix before selling. They left paperwork from the previous owner in the truck including his phone number. I called him and he confirmed that there were issues with the truck and he was praying that they would not be discovered during the trade-in process. I asked to return the truck and get my money back. He said that the sales manager, Doug Lawrence, will call me. I never heard from him. I have called Doug 3 times with no response. I called the Director of Operations, Brent Danner, no response as well. The thing that I find most irritating is Cody's change from amazing salesman to I don't care that your truck is broken indignant attitude, and the fact that management would not return my calls. This place may be family owned, but once you are out the door, they don't care. I needed to have the truck emissions tested. I had to go to a special diesel repair shop that is state approved for emissions testing. They did an inspection of the engine before testing. They informed me that the engine is shot. They removed the oil fill cap and smoke came billowing out of it. This is called extreme blow-by. Most likely due to a cracked piston. In order to do an emissions test on a diesel they have to redline the engine for 30 seconds on a dyno. The shop told me that the engine will NOT survive the test as it is already hurting. If it does survive, it will not be the same. He informed me to drive it gingerly and get my money back. The mechanic said that Ford Dealers know better than this. Cody claimed that Excel Diesel was trying to scam me. I took the truck to my mechanic who said that there is obvious signs of a cover-up that a lay person would miss. The engine bay was detailed so that "visual signs of this issue have been cleaned and removed". I contacted Cody, Douglass and Brent again. Doug finally called me and said that he would like the opportunity to try to get it to pass emissions for me. What about the engine Doug? It's blown. He is very good at gaslighting. He said that he's not in the business of giving refunds or taking vehicles back. If you are thinking about buying from Freeway Ford of Denver, I cannot recommend this place based on my horrid experience and their fraud. I hope the family that owns the dealership reads these negative reviews and takes action to do better. At the time of posting this review, they did not give me a refund. I am pursuing legal remedies since the truck's engine will not survive an emissions test and for dealer fraud. read more

This review is specifically in regard to my experience with Dustin Gonzales in the sales department. Throughout the process, I made it clear, I can't receive text messages and to send me emails. He ignored my request and continued to call and ask me if I received his text messages. There was no listening. I was purchasing a new Ford Transit van for our non-profit youth organization. We paid $5,000 over sticker for the van for a total of $68,000. Dustin then sold me a front facing camera for $895. I understood like any product you purchase, we could return it if it didn't work for us. Due to liability issues, we need a dual camera that records in the van as well. I emailed Dustin and let him know that we need to purchase a dual camera and would like to return the unused, new camera. I also let him know that dual cameras were about $150 on Amazon and that I felt a bit taken advantage of being sold a camera for $900. It would've been decent after spending $68,000, to let me know I could buy them online for $700-$750 less. Anyway, ultimately that falls on me, but it just shows an overall lack of concern. We are a free youth center for inner city youth. It takes a certain type fo person to want to take advantage of an organization that does what we do. After emailing for a return, I didn't receive a response and emailed again. I didn't receive a response for 6 days and emailed a 3rd time at which time, Dustin said, they don't have a return policy on the dash cam. I asked for some consideration from management. He said management is wiling to do something and I needed to call to hear what the offer was. I asked for the information via email so I could reference it and have it in writing. He refused and stopped responding. In order for a sales manager to act in this manner, there must be support from leadership. We spent $68,000 and $5,000 over sticker. If this is how Dustin and Barbee's Freeway Ford treats us, imagine how they will treat you. read more

If you are looking at any FORD make sure you check the VIN - they have zero issue completing a sale on a recalled car/truck without full transparency. We purchased a 2024 Maverick XL on Nov 26 - 4 days after a STOP SALE was issued from Ford. They pretend they were unaware yet delayed delivery until they finally said they cannot deliver it until there is a fix for the recall which is anticipated sometime in Q1 2025 (possibly until March 31). The recall has been out since Sept 13 2024 and still NO fix. They CANNOT sell any 2024 Maverick XL or XLT until it is fixed - or actually they will sell but wont give it to you. We proposed 3 ways to remedy our issue and they only proposed 3 months payments (approx $1200). Completely slimy that they weren't upfront from the get-go. Honesty and transparency does wonders but they just want commissions and meet sale numbers. There are sooo many Ford dealerships in Denver - go to any of them but Barbee Freeway Ford. Very disappointed. I recently moved to Denver (University/Observatory Park area) and was happy to have a Ford Dealer so near by to service my Ford Explorer. So I ran into an A/C issue this week (probably needs a freon charge). I called Freeway service only to learn they couldn't see me for several days and then they would need the car to be left for 2 or 3 days for diagnostics. So you can't get me in quickly and then my car is going to sit idle for 2 or 3 days before you even start, and potentially for something as simple as a freon charge...I don't think so. Frankly kind of a ridiculous approach to car service and something I have never experienced. Where I came from my Ford Dealer usually got me in either the same day or next and started on my car when I came there for the appointment. Anyway, I'm going to a different Denver Ford Dealer who got me in much quicker and will start the day I bring in the car. I have a 2014 Ford Focus that stopped working at the beginning of the second week in August. My usual mechanic tells me I need to take it to a dealer, but that the part and repair is under warranty. My first mistake was choosing to bring it to this place. The first employee I met, Nico, told me that it was only one specific code that was covered. It was late so I left it at that for the evening. I did some research on my own that night, and found information which completely refuted what Nico had told me. For reference this is Ford CSP 14M02. I came back with this document in hand, where I spoke with Clay, who once again asserted that it was only one of the 4 listed error codes that qualified for the warranty. He said he would bring in the car to have the codes pulled and let me know after the weekend (this was the next Friday). TWO WEEKS go by and I haven't heard anything, so I call in, only to be told that they haven't even looked at the car yet. It is important to point out that the part needing replacing has a massive backorder on it currently, so it is a really bad look to be further delayed by at least two weeks due to technician incompetence. During the wait, I contacted Ford to see if anything the technicians told me was true. As you can probably guess, no it wasn't. They referred to exactly the same document I had furnished earlier, and confirmed that my vehicle was under warranty if it displayed any of the codes listed. This is going to be a close to $1000 dollar repair without the warranty, and these techs had the nerve to lie to me about the warranty that by rights I am eligible for. read more

They replaced my engine turbo a couple of months ago now that same turbo they installed and charged about $4,000 for is leaking when I took it to them they were trying to tell me it was something else when I so I took it to another mechanic that confirmed the turbo is faulty they won't fix it they won't take responsibility in fact because they are supposed to have a warranty on their work and parts they banned me so that they don't have to fix it under warranty don't bother with these people they're crooked and dishonest not to mention lacking mechanical skill. read more

Ended up being just a dead battery and I said pass on the sunroof since it'd be $700. End bill for just the battery replacement $~780... Breakdown: ~$200 - battery $200 - to glance at the sunroof $380 to diagnose and replace a battery!? Made an online service appointment with this dealership for recall work required by Ford. Went to their website and scheduled a service appointment directly with them. This was confirmed with a text immediately. Yesterday I received a reminder text for my appointment. Now is when everything goes sideways. Drive to I25&Evans from Parker and am promptly told I do not have an appointment. Am told the recall tech leaves at 4 anyway. Am told I will have to come back tomorrow or leave the car (I have no ride). Cannot reach a manager to raise a complaint because they are "ALL in a meeting". Told by a receptionist that I was mistaken since it was not possible to schedule online AS I LOOKED AT THE SCHEDULING WEBPAGE!
