I got: - 1/2 sandwich/side (Caesar chicken wrap and sweet potato fries): wrap was kinda small but good portion enough for a little pick me up. Sweet potato fries were good! I had leftovers so it was nice to heat those up in my air fryer to make extra crispy -iced strawberry matcha: this was pretty good! Nothing crazy but a solid matcha. There's ample seating against the wall and some outdoor seating too. There's a single stall bathroom. The staff are incredibly kind and I was very glad to find the menu is vegan friendly! Though the cashier told me the V stood for Vegan not Vegetarian... but a couple items tagged with the V had eggs in them. I was excited to start eating (solo) and then this person sat right next to me who ordered a fish dish.. as a vegan I was having a really hard time eating whilst smelling the stank. And I also found a tiny piece of something very hard (not edible) in my bowl. The city has quite a few options for healthy bites but it isn't until recently that I've given Carrot Express a try. There are meat/seafood/vegan options on the menu that spans breakfast to lunch to dessert. I tried the poke wrap and found it to be balanced with crisp veg, fresh fish and the perfect amount of dressing. The price point was steep for fast casual as the wrap alone was about $24 (with tax), and that will likely prevent me from making this spot a staple. I've also tried the carrot cake from here, but the slice was nothing to write home about. On the one hand, Carrot Express feels like a sterilized salad chain with no personality and simplistic branding. They still have a vaguely Asian salad named "Oriental Crunch" on their menu, for goodness sake. But my perennially healthy heart loves their huge menu of smoothies, power shots, juices, and enormous salads. The salads do run over $20 once you add a protein to them, but the portions are really enormous and the ingredients are quite fresh. I like coming here on days I go hard at the gym and will treat myself to a generous portion of sesame crusted tuna, salmon, or mahi mahi over a bed of greens. The green goddess salad is my favorite-- with arugula, spinach, kale, avocado, cucumber, and toasted pumpkin seeds with miso ginger vinaigrette and a huge piece of roasted salmon. You can still get a better salad at say, sweetgreen, but if you're wanting to change up your lunch spot this is a pretty solid option. Their juices and power shots are fresh and the ambience inside is a step above your average salad chain. Their signature carrot cake was way too sweet for my tastes, but good for anyone with a sweet tooth wanting to balance out their healthy meal with something more indulgent. read more

Lastly, the Caesar salad with falafel was my least favorite in terms of what the cost would be to order the salad. I feel that I had some lettuce thrown into a container with some powdered cheese and a couple of croutons. I loved that the dressing was on the side so I could control how much I was adding. One thing I would note is it's not like fast food, the food might take a bit (faster than restaurant dining but slower than fast food) so if you looked at the title assuming it's "express" it's not that quick so just keep it in mind. Though the orders do not come out asap, I really appreciated the TLC they put into my wrap, it was nicely presented, fully stuffed, quinoa/ all the ingredients were fresh, and everything was so warm!! You have a choice of: - brown rice or quinoa - fresh ahi tuna or fresh salmon - cilantro lime or soy ginger dressing It also had a bunch of other delicious ingredients inside including avocado, edamame, seaweed salad and more. I'd asked for my wrap without the spicy mayo & eel sauce and added soy sauce instead at home. The Strawberry Passion Smoothie was fresh and tasty, with a delightful blend of strawberries, fresh apple juice, banana and honey. It was perfect for a hot day like today. The food did take more than 15 minutes during off peak hours, even though the place is called Carrot "Express." It was still worth the wait, though. They had a couple of tables outside and plenty of tables inside, with a modern, clean, chic vibe. I came here as a part of a Yelp Elite Promotion and wasn't sure what to expect. I'm not always a fan of fast-casual healthy places, but I was excited to give it a try. And I was not disappointed! I took my order to-go, but was a bit bummed about that because the inside of the place is adorable. The vibes are great, everything is clean, and the decor is inviting. The staff was incredibly kind and quick. I was impressed from the moment I walked in the door. I got a piña colada smoothie and a liv wrap. I LOVED my smoothie. It was so fresh and so tasty, but not so rich that it made me feel weighed down. It was smooth and filling. It was completely unexpected and a refreshing surprise. My wrap was delicious as well. I'm hesitant to get wraps a lot of places because they usually have the facade of being healthy when they actually aren't, but this wrap was so different. This place is an awesome location for fast, casual and healthy food! It was perfect timing for me since I came here after the gym and this place had lots of great healthy options that left me feeling full and content. I ordered the chicken pesto bowl, a refresher juice and a carrot cake. The bowl was loaded with lots of brown rice, chicken, kale, avocado and corn. I loved every single bite of it. The juice was delicious too for something that had ginger in it to give it a nice kick. The carrot cake was also super moist and delicious. I would love to get this on my own again for a snack. Their menu is so expansive and diverse that I feel like I would have to come here much more frequently just to try out their vast selection of wraps, bowls, salads, burgers, sweet potatoes, juices, desserts, etc. All in all, eating healthy never tasted and looked so good. This is a new healthy spot to try. The atmosphere is really nice. They've done a great job making it seem fancy and yet cozy and chic at the same time. The food tastes healthy and fresh. Came here for a Yelp Elite event and was extremely surprised by this spot! Healthy, delicious, and big portions. I also really appreciate they have gluten free options since I'm GF most of the time. I got the: 1. Marios Favorite Chicken Bowl I really liked this bowl. It smelled good even before I dug in. The chicken was juicy and the cilantro lime dressing was super yummy. I think my only thing was that it could've used more of the greens but hey, I'm getting way more filling stuff (chicken, quinoa and rice, etc) than if it was just salad so yay! 2. Pina Colada Smoothie OMG. This was awesome. It really did taste like a pina colada but a little less coconut-y and was so creamy yet refreshing for this 90 degree day. I also tried the Julie's Smoothie (the worker had extra and gave me 1/2 a cup worth!) and it was sooo good. More tart but equally as fresh and delicious. 3. Carrot Cake OK, I wasn't expecting much since it was in a plastic tub in the cold area near other juices, but this was surprisingly moist and delicious. I let it sit out before eating it (cold cake is always drier to me). The cream cheese frosting was sweet without being overly so and the cake itself was perfect (not too dense, definitely not dry, fluffy but filling). I also loved the nuts in it. This isn't GF but really good nonetheless! Service was awesome. The employees were friendly and giving good recommendations. I would definitely recommend this place. Wow! Carrot express makes me wish I lived/worked nearby! I had a hard time choosing, but finally settled on the Bomba Wrap and a slice of carrot cake (it's called ~balance~). The falafel inside was piping hot, a true sign of freshly made food. The wrap was really flavorful without being laden down with sauces and was really filling. The carrot cake was also baked fresh and had to be cut for me, and it was absolutely worth the extra minute or two. It was so flavorful and had a great cake to frosting ratio. Ordered a tuna Mexican salad with a slice of carrot cake to go. First off the carrot cake was delicious, the cream cheese frosting not too sweet and very creamy. The cake was moist and still maintained some textural crunch from carrots. The salad was very filling and both the greens and avocado was fresh and mixed very well. Normally not a tuna salad fan but it was something different not offered at chopt or cava. Maybe too watery for my taste but seasined well and a lot was given. Extra plus that it was packed separately from the salad so that the greens did not get soggy. Overall a very filling meal. I had pretty high expectations from the menu. There are a LOT of options, many (but not all) vegan. The music isn't super loud, the lighting and decor is great, and it's overall a nice casual restaurant. The employee wasn't the most knowledgeable on what was vegan and what wasn't- had to confirm that the Brussel Sprouts Kale Salad was vegan (it's not labeled on the menu as such), and almost got the wrong non vegan muffin. They have free infused water which is super nice. Wait time was about 15 min. The salad was very fresh, and they give a LOT of dressing (don't use it all or you'll be swimming in dressing). Quite tasty, though my preference for dressing is miso sesame as opposed to lemony, the default given. The side tofu was a little bland (very mild sesame flavor) and was not roasted or cooked much to add texture, so only good if you like tofu for tofu (which I do). The muffin was put in a plastic container which kind of sucks, but is reasonable given it's size. The vegan carrot walnut muffin ($6) is a little smaller than the other ones, but it was very sweet, dense, and moist. Very indulgent. Also got the green dream juice with kale, spinach, pineapple, and green apple. Was quite good, not super cold, and quite pricey ($9). All in all this place is on the pricier end, but i think everything is pretty well thought out. I think for me as a vegan, I would still prefer other vegan casual restaurants (there's one 2 blocks ish away), since they're cheaper and still just as good. But here does have a much larger menu. If you dine in you get real tableware instead of just to go containers, so that's a plus for sustainability. You can just leave the plates and an employee will pick up. To go containers are mostly non recyclable black plastic. read more

It was a delectable blend of grains, chicken, nuts and kale. All of the ingredients tasted very fresh and best of all, it was warm. I got my order to go, but the inside is actually quite nice and there are a number of tables so it's definitely possible to sit down. My only slight concern is that the bowls can be pretty expensive (~$18) for more casual food, but it is a hefty portion and a notch above the usual fast casual, so I can also understand it to some extent. read more

This place was so good!!! They have the best carrot cake I've ever eaten. It was so smooth and tasteful. The chicken pesto bowl was so yummy too. They added brown rice, avocado and kale and used a special pesto vinagerette which I enjoyed. This is like a chipotle bowl, but healthy. The service and environment was absolutely pleasant. They bring out the food so quickly (and truly is carrot EXPRESS) and they have a nice sitting area with wifi. They take such good care of the environment and it truly shows! read more
