I purchased carpet from the Parker location 6 years ago. When we went in we explained to our sales rep that we needed long lasting carpet that could stand up to a lot of traffic. She sold us a Shaw carpet she said had a 20 year wear warranty and would meet all of our needs. Within 2 years the carpet started to show a lot of wear. I called the Parker office and was told nothing could be done. In May of this year I went into the Parker location and explained to Fred what had happened with my previous purchase. He looked up the order and told me that he had never liked the sales rep who had sold me our carpet and that she didn't stay long and really didn't know what she was doing. He also told me that I should file a warranty claim on my carpet because it did have a 20 year warranty. He gave me the number to contact Shaw and file the claim. I called Shaw and was told the place I purchased the carpet from had to file the claim. I called Fred back and was told I would have to talk to the manager, Mashera. Mashera called me back a few days later and told me we had purchased cheap carpet and there was no need to file a claim because it had lasted as long as it was meant to. I explained to her that we had purchased what her sales rep recommended and she said every company has to have time for employees to learn the product. I asked why I had to pay the price for an untrained employee and was told that I should have done my own homework before purchasing the carpet. I told her that I expect the employees at a place called Carpet Exchange to be knowledgeable about carpet, especially since their phone hold message talks about how knowledgeable their employees are. She refused to help me in any way so I called their HQ and talked to Shaun. He was very nice and said he would have Evelyn call me. It took almost a month and several emails from me before she returned my call. She also told me I had purchased cheap carpet and there wasn't anything she could do. After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau they finally sent someone out to look at my carpet. After the report came in Evelyn called me to say that no warranty issues were found with my carpet and they felt like I had gotten what I paid for. She was not nice about any of it and could not seem to understand that my problem is being given completely wrong information from several employees and being told I should have done my own homework prior to purchasing. After I told Evelyn I would never buy anything else from them and would make sure everyone I come across hears about my experience she said her boss, Cameron Newhart, was willing to work with me directly and sell me new carpet at their cost. I have now left 2 voicemails for him and he will not call me back. This is the worst customer service I have ever received from a company! read more

I do not know where to start with horrible experience I had at Carpet Exchange when I recently got my kitchen remodeled. First and foremost, the sales staff and management could care less about the customer. They are unresponsive, incompetent, and disorganized. I had to follow up FIVE different times to get my counters templated. I was lied to on multiple occasions about what was to be included in my quote, and of course, once templated my quote was off by $1,000!!! The day before my tear out and no one had called my wife to give her an approximate time of when they would be there. I had to call Carpet Exchange and my file had no record of who or when the counters would be torn out. I was given absolutely no instructions or documentation on how to keep care of my new quartz countertops. And finally, I was told that my tile order would take one week.... A week goes by and I send an email to the assistant manager asking when the backsplash would be installed....and her response: "Talk to your salesperson" (even though I had placed the order with her a week prior). Low and behold my salesperson lets me know that I will not have my backsplash installed for another month. I can honestly say I have never had worst customer experience in my life. read more

Please avoid purchasing anything from Carpet Exchange. Really, really avoid this company. We had a horrible experience at their Denver Platte Street store (company headquarters), and Carpet Exchange employees extorted us into paying more for our carpet than was estimated (salesperson & management problem). First of all, salesman Everett Trueblood forgot that we were even in the store and made an order with him to carpet the bedroom in our newly purchased home. During that initial visit he gave us an estimate (we had done measurements) and we gave him our credit card information to charge half the cost, as is customary with Carpet Exchange. A few days after our visit with him at the store, we called him because he hadn't come out to measure. He hastily came by our home and it seemed he couldn't even remember us or our order. After the carpet was installed, I waited for an invoice to get charged the second half. A few days later Everett Trueblood called asking for my credit card information again. I said I had given it to him and thought he already charged me half and was waiting for some kind of invoice to sign off on for the final cost. I gave him my email to send me an invoice. For many weeks, I didn't hear from the salesman or Carpet Exchange. They had my credit card information and my address and email. Three months later, they sent us a Statement of Lien saying us we owe more than we were quoted. 15 minutes later we were in their store in person asking why we got a lien statement instead of an invoice, and why they never charged my credit card and instead decided upon a scare tactic to make us pay more money. The salesman eventually said "I'm sorry, but do you want to pay now, or what?". The next day my husband met with the manager, who treated him with disrespect, basically told him this was our fault, and made no explanation for why we were never even charged the initial half up front or received an invoice for ANYTHING, and said they wouldn't release the lien unless we paid the higher amount. She falsely claimed that she had personally sent us invoices, and that the installation crew had left us with an invoice. None of these things happened, and her claims that they did only prove to me that incompetence and dishonesty are all in the normal course of doing business for Carpet Exchange. All I can do is let folks know to avoid this business and not fall into the same trap we did. read more

After spending 4,700$ on carpet and an additional 350$ for some tile I must say ask the negative reviews are justified. Our salesperson, Rob is a joke. The installers also damaged my walls at waist high or more??? One ceiling light fixture was barely hanging on until I fixed it. They shaved off paint in every doorway. As far as service goes Rob dropped the ball at every step of the process. Measuring, scheduling and a refund they owed us. Never returned calls and no concern for anything. Ordered $2500.00 worth of custom rugs from carpet exchange and was promised by John at the Thornton store they would arrive in 2-3 weeks. He then calls and says it's going to be a few additional weeks. Then calls again and says 10 more days. After ten days passed I called him and he said another week on the one rug and 4 more on the other. At this point I decided to cut my losses and cancel the order. He of course said that it was out of his control. The first thing that comes to mind is bait and switch, As you can read above we gave them more than enough chances to make it right. Fact is I asked the store manager to give me a call to explain, after 2 weeks no call. Funny that I had read other bad reviews but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Carpet Exchange Arvada - horrible! We had a large order to carpet 3/4 of our house. Everthing was fine until installation day. They were to arrive 'between 9 and 11am', so we moved all the small items and drawers out of dressers and clothes out of closets. It was 10:30am and I was getting a gut feeling that something was up. So I called. the manager said he'd call me back. When he called back he apologized and said his salesperson who took our order was sick for a few days so the message never got relayed to the installers/warehouse that today was the delivery day. Note to manager: when someone is sick, most businesses have a back up plan to follow thru on delivery of a $6000 order! So he said not to worry, they were pulling some guys off another job to come to our job. THey'de be there by 11am. Well at noon, no show, so called again. He said they're on their way. By 2pm they finally showed up, looking annoyed. Two of the 3 didnt speak English, and the translater was a 16 year old kid. I said, what time do you think you'll be done? They replied "probably by 10pm!! " Well we wanted it done so we agreed. Before we knew it, they were dragging an extremely heavy dresser into our newly tiled bathroom, and later we realized they banged the top of the entrance to the bathroom. . By 7pm I was realizing they might be hungry so we bought them 6 Mcdonalds hamburgers and drinks to keep them happy. They barely said 'gracios'. By 8pm I called the manager again and said "dont run my credit card on the 2nd half of this order, cuz I am expecting a significant discount." The installers finally finished at 11:30 pm!! OF course they make you sign off at the fact that they didnt destroy anything, well at 11:30 at night it was darker and we didnt notice all the nicks of paint from them banging around the furniture until the next morning. THey make you aware that the baseboards will get a little banged up so I was OK with that, but while they moved all the furniture, they banged up the walls too! ALso, when they reassembled our bed, the headboard was backwards! we didnt notice this till the next day too, so we had to dissemble our entire bed and reassemble it correctly. Meanwhile, we paid to have them do this! So after it was all said and done, they only shaved $200 off the order (only a 3.3% discount). I would of argued for more of a discount but I was so disgusted with the whole thing that I just said fine and I will just tell the world dont ever use Carpet Exchange!! Its worth it to go thru Home Depot, who has much more quality installers. read more

This is a long story but the bottom line is you would be better off NOT dealing with these people. Here is a copy of a letter I sent to the store manager: Sales associate Abbey assured me that Carpet Exchange could beat any deal and have it installed in 3-4 days instead of 3-4 weeks. I faxed my quote from Home Depot to Abbey. The quote contained all details of carpet type, color, padding, etc...finally came back with a quote that was $200 over what Home Depot quoted me. I told her I would rather go with Home Depot and wait a couple weeks than pay an extra $200. Abbey sighed and got rather irritated. Abbey did not agree and felt that time was worth more than $200.She then said she would have to talk to her boss and get back to me..in a quite unfriendly tone. Several hours later she called back and hung up on me! Several hours more passed and she called again and said someone had walked into the room as she was calling me so she could not talk at that time... I copied the below guarantee from the Carpet Exchange website. PRICE Because of our incredible buying power at Carpet Exchange, we're able to bring you the lowest prices in town. In fact, we guarantee it. We'll beat any competitor's price quote by a full 10%. This guarantee was never met. Home depot quoted me $4,993.73 after tax, installation, removal, etc. The Carpet exchange quote was a few dollars more than this (after the additional $200 was taken off the original quote) with the added incentive of a speedy install. According to your guarantee my price should roughly be $4494.36 after tax, installation, removal, etc...not $5000. All this aside, I was willing to just get the job done so I made the deposit of $2500. Abbey stated she would order the carpet and call back with my install date. On Monday June 22nd I had still had not heard back from Abbey regarding an install date so I called her. That is when she told me the carpet had not been ordered yet! Abbey then made the order and said the carpet may come in the same week and could possibly have it installed Saturday June 27th, but she would call back with a definite answer. By Friday June 26th...Abbey had not called me, so once again I made the phone call. It was Abbeys day off...so I talked to another associate (Chuck).This person said the carpet had already come in the day before and seemed to be confused as to why an install was not already scheduled. The installation was eventually scheduled for Saturday after several more phone calls from Carpet Exchange. Saturday finally came around and the installer showed up at 12:30pm as opposed to 10:30am like I was told. He did not have the correct carpet, had far inferior padding, insufficient amount of tack-strips, and no paperwork explaining the layout of my house, measurements, etc. The installer also stated he waited at the shop for three hours since nobody was able to find my carpet. Needless to say I was now quite upset after having moved all my furniture into the kitchen, garage, bathrooms, and everywhere else. This is not an easy task for me as I lost my left arm and have other physical disabilities from injuries sustained in Iraq. The installers left and I began moving furniture...again. Naturally I was on the phone with Carpet Exchange explaining the situation. It was being explained away as a simple ordering mishap. I do not for one second believe this to be true. I believe Abbey and her associates intended to scam me in order to beat Home Depot's price and still make a large profit. No way should the installer have shown up with the wrong carpet AND the wrong padding. Both were completely inferior to what I had ordered...inferior and far cheaper. I am guessing nobody thought I would notice. This is what upsets me more than anything else. I was already on high alert because of some of the remarks Abbey made and the tone she used. The first thing I did when the installer arrived was match up the carpet and padding with the samples I got from Home Depot... One week later I finally got a refund. How this company has a good rating is beyond me So...the manager called me back after this and tried to word-smith his way out of it. He said the guarantee is only to match the price of the carpet. Well, this is NOT what is advertised on the website. The website says they will beat any quote by 10%. He had no response for anything else. When I asked about the padding being far inferior I got silence. He tried to explain the carpet away as a small ordering mishap. I did get my money refunded another week later. Jonathan Shore is the BEST! I'd had a flood and needed carpet throughout the house--but hadn't been carpet shopping in 15 years, so I was totally overwhelmed. I'd visited 3 other carpet places and they either ended up confusing me or ignoring me. Jonathan started by asking me the kinds of questions that quickly eliminated most of the samples and got me zeroed in on a brand or two that was just perfect. He couldn't do enough. Samples were made available to take home. He was always quick to answer my email questions. Came out to participate in measuring...and to make sure there were no surprises. End result: I LOVE my carpet. Absolutely LOVE it! It's so soft--and doesn't show footprints like so many of them do. And the color selection was fantastic. I'm sorry for the destruction the flood caused--but thrilled with the new look of my home--thanks to Jon and Carpet Exchange. (BTW--I had purchased my original carpet from Carpet Exchange 15 years before. I should have just gone back to them in the first place and saved myself a lot of aggravation. :-) read more

My complaint is that the representative from Carpet Exchange forced me to pay nearly double of what we agreed for the carpet installation or loose my deposit of $750!!!!! The Carpet Exchange representative asked me to measure the dimensions of the living room and the stairs for my carpet installation. I measured 35SY total and gave these measurements to the representative from carpet exchange. They determined $1,773 is what I needed to pay according to the dimensions I measured. I signed a form where I agreed to pay a deposit of $750 for the carpet installation based on these dimensions/price. After, they sent an employee to measure the exact same locations. This person measured a total of 52SY. The carpet exchange representative from before came back and then demanded I pay an additional $2,540, which is double of what I had agreed to pay, or loose my $750 I deposited. I ended up paying a total of $3,290 which is $1,517 more than what I agreed to pay in the beginning. Why ask your customer to pay a deposit and sign a form based on their own measured dimensions, and then force them to pay nearly double later? This is an extremely bad policy that abuses customers! I at least deserve to have the difference of $1,517 payed back! Also, it is ridiculous to ask your customers to pay a deposit of $750 (half the initial total price) just for sending someone to come measure the carpet! read more

I started at another branch, but ended up working with the Denver folks and I appreciate how they sorted out my problems and ensured I got the results I wanted, even though I was inexperienced in the process. read more

I feel like a fool for not checking reviews FIRST! Our experience has been a nightmare with the Cheyenne store. Today marks four weeks that our floor has not been finished yet. When they placed our order initially, they put the trim on a separate order. It did not arrive, of course, with the full order. The installers come out, get the laminate floor and tile done. They get the the call from the store that the trim pieces are in, but after getting them to the house they realized they are wrong! Back to the store the installer goes. That was four weeks ago! I called the Cheyenne store manager, Donna, this morning and asked about the status. She "claims" they have ordered, received the wrong pieces yet again, and have now been in contact with the owner of the laminate floor manufacturer to get this corrected. But when I expressed my absolute dissatisfaction, Donna gets snippy. This is not how you treat your customers. I WILL NEVER recommend or go back to Carpet Exchange... EVER! At the same time, I will say that the installers that did the laminate floor and tile work were excellent. The carpet installers spoke very little English, and took nearly 6 hours to install 1200 sq ft of carpet. It looks nice, but I'm not sure how it's going to stand up. We have another 1600 sq ft of work to be done, but it won't be done by Carpet Exchange. Lowe's, Home Depot, or Menards... HERE WE COME! read more

I had Carpet Exchange, in Colorado Springs, install my carpet a few years ago. It was a bait and switch situation! They installed carpet that I wouldn't even consider for my back porch! I took them to court and lost because I did not have a sample from them when I purchased! This has been a horrible experience. They told me the carpet would take 5-7 business days to come in and then another 2-3 business days before the install, and that they would call me once it came in. After 12 business days, I called and they told me it was in. I asked why they hadn't called to notify me, and they said they weren't sure. They said they could deliver Saturday morning, and would be at our house around 9. At 10:00 I called them and asked when they were coming, and they told me they weren't. They said they had moved the installation date to Tuesday because they didn't have any installers. They didn't even bother to call to let us know of to ask if Tuesday would work! Now my husband has to take time off from work, and they weren't even apologetic. It's been 25 days since we placed the order and paid, and we still don't have carpet. I am very disappoint with the service or lack thereof with Carpet Exchange. I visited this store Monday, January 4, 2016 to look into replacing my carpet. Carpet Exchange installed my current carpet back in 1998 or 1999, so I figured I go back to them. I walked into the store (I was the ONLY customer in the store from the time I arrived to the time I left) early afternoon and noticed a young lady and a gentlemen on the phone. No problem, I'll just look around until they finish. Now, I have moved clear through the store to the back, and now watched two different women (employees) walk through the store from one door to another and NEVER said a word. Acted like I was not even there. Then one of those same ladies came through again and on her way to wherever she was going, I said, does anybody work here". She said, oh let me see if I can find someone. Here comes the guy that was on the phone, saying he was the only salesperson, etc. He answered my questions over the next 15-30 minutes and we set up a time for them to come out and measure, for that Saturday, between 9:30 - 10am. I never received a call nor did they show up. read more

The only reason I did not give 5 stars is I always believe there is room for improvement. We were very pleased with the customer service we recieved at Carpet Exchange. We purchased a granite counter top wich we wanted installed before Christmas. The price was less than half of a competitor who would not guarantee instalation before Christmas. They did not require payment in full until instalation was complete and we were happy. This is just plain good business practice. Their competitor, a well known name in graite countertops, wanted payment up front--yikes! Their installers were careful, polite, and thorough. The countertop looks great. This was an overall wonderful experience. Abbe was attentive and even came over to the granite site on her day off to insure a smooth selection. She followed through to make sure were were satisfied with the instalation and was a pleasure to work with. We were so pleased with the customer service she gave us that we drove back to Denver to work with her again for tile just yesterday. She has been a joy to work with, never high pressure, always careful to make sure we get what we want and need. read more

I don't have a complaint about the carpet. The installation was and still is a nightmare 2 years later. The installers don't speak english so there is no communication with them. Nothing was tacked down well, corners were easily pulled up and the seams show terribly. I had them back twice to try to get these things fixed. The second time you could tell they were not happy to be back. The installers told me there was nothing they could do to fix the seams (in very broken english) I had a hard time believing it couldn't be fixed so I called in another carpet guy to look at it. He confirmed it was a shotty job parts of the seam was overlaping and parts weren't pulled togeather at all and weren't even touching the glue. It has to be pulled up and reinstalled and stretched to fix it, which means taking all the furniture out again, not to mention what he's going to charge me. So when they say installation is guaranteed for life don't believe it! This company has no customer service. I'll never do business with them again. read more

We have purchased carpet from Carpet Exchange in the past and had a good experience. I was shopping granite counter tops, and their pricing was really good, however the outcome and the service are not so much the case. I worked with Jarius and Andrea at the Wadsworth store. They don't return phone calls or emails and don't seem to remember one conversation to the next. We placed the order, but due to the cost of installation and delivery changing 3 times we decided to pick it up and install ourselves. Lots of confusion on the ordering, I had to call three times to find out when and where I was doing the pick up and then when we picked up the order one of the edges was not completed. I have left messages for Andrea, the manager, twice and sent an email trying to discuss the problem. No response for 5 days now. I will never use this company for flooring or counter tops ever again due to the service I have experienced. Also, I own several rental properties, so picking up and installing granite was not a big deal, it was the ever changing totals and information relayed that is one of the many issues. Shame on Carpet Exchange and their lack of any customer service. Shame on Andrea for not returning several forms of communication when a customer has an issue. read more

Carpet exchange is horrible and do not deserve a single star. I am not sure how on earth they stay in business but I have been dealing with the one in Littleton on Coal Mine Ave and the manager Christie. I had my carpet installed almost a year ago and it was a night mare! Carpet was not installed and out of stock for 2 months after I had paid. Then they could not find an installer and when they did these guys tore up my furniture as they were putting it outside!!! One seem is so bad it stands out like a sore thumb. I was so over their customer service I told them I would get someone else to repair it. Well here it is 8 months later and now I have waves and was told by the office manager Polly that it is from the moisture in the air! WHAT????? so this phone call was in August and it is now October and still no return calls from Christie the store manager to repair our carpet. She is always on the phone or just walking out the door when I call. I am still waiting for them to make this right! NEVER EVER USE CARPET EXCHANGE!!!!
