I would say worst customer service experience ever. Our salesperson was an awful communicator and we constantly had to follow up to get updated quotes even though we expressed that we were very interested in having our floors done by them as soon as possible. In person, upon first meeting our salesperson, she assured us that "oh yeah, we'll be able to do your floors for well below $6k". Of course after we got a true quote, it came out to $10k. No salesperson of high end products should throw around casual quotes if there is potential to be that far off base. Once we signed our contract, our salesperson and all communication completely disappeared. I finally got ahold of someone else at this location and she was no longer there. We were a little relieved but if a customer's install is scheduled for the near future, why would the manager not follow up on all open sales slips?? And after installation, there was no follow up from Carpet Exchange, no final walkthrough, and they won't return any of our calls about part of the job that was left unfinished. All we need is 12' more of quarter round. We will even install it ourselves if they will just return our call and provide us with the product. I want to be clear that the gentlemen who did the actual installation were fantastic and good communicators and very professional. I have used this company and store exclusively over decades for products for my home and rental properties, with excellent results. Not any more. Unfortunately, poor service almost across the board has declined to the point that I cannot trust that they will do what they say they will. And, certainly wouldn't give them the 50% deposit required at the time an order is placed. Phone calls aren't returned, incorrect samples are sent, appointments for measuring take weeks (in spite of what I'm told and, in 1 case, the person who did finally arrive was given the wrong information of what to measure), installation times have been off my hours. I must add that Breanna was very knowledgeable and helpful in the store but that's it. Everything else has gone surprisingly downhill. Too bad. They used to be great. read more

We have been working with the Carpet Exchange Store in Westminster, CO on a $4,000.00 project for new carpet and laminate flooring. Upon asking to proceed with the order and work we were asked for a $1500.00 deposit on the order which was expected. We were then informed that the owner of Carpet Exchange just handed down the order that all payment must be made in full BEFORE installation and before they would schedule the crew to deliver the material to the site. I am a licensed architect in Colorado and have NEVER been required to make full payment for labor BEFORE the work is done. We had another $3000.00 project which will now take with this $4,000.00 project elsewhere. I had originally went to Lowe's. What a mistake that was! I was quoted $8,500 for 110 yards of carpet and pad with a 3-5 week installation time. Went to carpet exchange and spoke with Staci. She was able to get me a nearly identical carpet and pad quality with a 1 week installation date for $4500. The installers showed up on time and were very friendly, courteous, and professional. I will be only using Carpet Exchange from now on at my primary and rentals. read more

I had a fire in my house and the carpet was damaged. My insurance company paid for a replacement. Instead of replacing the carpet, Carpet Exchanged touched up the damaged carpet with dye and sold it back to me. One year later, the dye wore off and revealed the original burn marks from the fire. Don't waste your time here. Decent prices and products but really poor service. Took a few weeks to get the property measured, the carpet that I wanted that was supposedly available was "delayed" by a few weeks and then when it finally came time to install the installer called me and said that the couldn't do the job because there wasn't enough carpet. Huh? Why didn't someone from the company call me? Didn't your company do the measurement? And by the way we can't move the TV, etc. A total waste of my time. I almost give them two stars instead of one because they gave me a full refund. Of course that didn't get me back the lost month or so that myself and my tenants had wasted with them. Now I've had to start all over with other companies. They didn't offer any compensation for the lost time or energy for their mistakes and delays. read more

I have used Carpet Exchange without problems for many years, but I recently had a terrible experience as they failed to meet a hard deadline for installing my carpet at a rental. They were first supposed to come on a Saturday, then rescheduled for Sunday, then that installer couldn't do it then and Carpet Exchange couldn't find someone else to do it. I had to scramble to find someone for Monday morning (new tenants were moving in that day) and finally found someone who I knew nothing about. They worked out fine, but I shouldn't have had to do this and the manager should have contacted me to apologize. I will never use them again. read more

We originally went into carpet exchange because it was conveniently located. We where looking for new flooring for our kitchen and laminate wood for the rest of the house. We ended up getting new flooring, quartz counter top, and back splash. Once our new kitchen floor came in we realized we needed to redo everything else. We decided to go back to Carpet Exchange because we were so impressed with our sales person Abbe Stuart. She is the perfect salesperson! She's very friendly, knowledgeable, and understands design. She would nicely make design suggestions in 2-3 different directions and then stand back to let us think about it. We of course could look through all of their products but didn't really need too because Abbe was so good. She understood our vision what look we were going for. Abbe also followed up on our order all the way to the end. She didn't leave our account after the order was placed. I know I'm going on and on about Abbe but she really is great. We shopped around at other stores and ended at carpet exchange because they do have the best prices and the best staff. There have been other posts about poor installation but I find that's an issue anywhere. I've used the installers at Home depot 2 times before and will never use them again! I bought a new dishwasher from Home Depot and when the guy got to my house and he wouldn't install because my old countertop was a half an inch lower than standard even though there was lots of room to install it. My Carpet Exchange installers never gave me problems. It takes a few weeks to install natural stone but it takes that long anywhere. I bought very expensive quartz countertops through Carpet exchange 1 year ago. Within months of having it, I noticed that something was wrong with the island slab. There are blemishes/scratches showing up in numerous places. I have been trying for months to get this resolved. They use Stoneworks to fabricate the stone. Stoneworks finally sent someone out to look at them after months. The crew that showed up told me "OH wow, yes, something is definitely wrong." He asked what I used to wipe my counters down with and I showed them a soft sponge or a washrag with either water or quartz cleaner that I was advised to use during installation. He pulled out a can of "Denatured Fuel" and wiped them down with this. He said I should be cleaning my counters with this. As you can imagine, this sounded absurd!! Who cleans their kitchen with fuel?? Several weeks later they called me and said due to the "abrasive cleaners" I was using, my warranty would not be honored and there was nothing they can do. Since when are water and a cotton rag abrasive?? I paid $10,000 for these countertops and there is something wrong with them. Spots keep showing up everywhere. DO NOT purchase countertops through Carpet Exchange or Stone Works!! Use the more reputable, normal quartz places. Since Carpet Exchanges uses Stoneworks, they both are giving me the runaround and nobody is taking responsibility. read more

I see there are multiple locations but we just deal with one sales man "Joe", who I believe works for the Denver store so that's why I'm posting here. However we live down South so we use the southwest location if we need to walk into a store. It seems people only want to come on here to review when things go bad or not to their expectations, which is fine, I understand that. But this world is so jaded anymore it seems people only post complaints and never send compliments when they're deserved. So here's mine! Carpet Exchange is the ONLY company I will use and trust when it comes to any of my flooring and now countertop needs! The fact that they've been in business forever and warranty their product says a lot. Much more then most fly by night companies that won't be around to help you a couple years down the road. The product is also high end. NOT your cheap $2/yd special you find at Home Depot. If you want carpet that will last you 3 years, then Home Depot is your place! But if you want carpet that will stand the test of time, then you need CE. We first used them 6 years ago in our town home to replace some extremely nasty carpet that was over 20 yrs old, so it seemed. We replaced it with half carpet and half luxury plank tile that looks like wood but holds up to ANYTHING! No scratches, no need to resurface and no worry if it gets wet! I never heard of this stuff until Joe showed me. And now I swear by it! The installers were fabulous. Our carpet was so beautiful and I didn't realize how badly our past stuff was installed until I saw the beautiful transitions they did on our stairs etc. Fast forward 3 years later when we purchased our first home. A large one at that (3300 sqft), that even though it was a "flip" home, we needed to replace a lot of the cheap crap they put in. And that luxury plank tile was my first choice! I didn't even bother calling anywhere else for quotes as CE took such great care of us before. As well as all our friends and family that we've since referred. Well once we ripped up the tile floor we found LOTS of structural problem, but we all worked through it. Yes it took a lot more days then planned, but what do you expect!? They also replaced the horrible tile countertops. Our kitchen is huge and I was very worried about the cost. But Joe was great at finding me options that fit within my budget. Fast forward to now... we decided that we wanted to extend the plank tile to our back door since it was a high traffic area and the "new" carpet that was installed when we moved in, thanks Home Depot, was already CRAP! We called up Joe at Carpet Exchange and they were at our house the next day to measure and show us carpet samples. We decided to spend the extra money on the best padding and carpet you can get and even at that, we still got a great deal. We decided to move forward and replace the WHOLE house with new carpet and add on the additional plank tile. Our house is now complete and looks so beautiful!! The installers were always on time and friendly. They seriously know what they're doing over there! And I encourage anyone that has had a great experience, like we have, to say something nice! Not a single person that we referred or know that has used Carpet Exchange has had any issues! Only compliments. So I find these low stars hard to believe. No company is perfect and all will have their issues. But seriously, it's pretty easy to sit behind a computer to bitch and try to ruin a reputation instead of compliment. read more

Bottom line...don't waste your time with Carpet Exchange. We stopped in the store, on a Friday evening, to get a quote on some carpet for our basement. The salesman, Everett, was fairly helpful in walking us through the different styles and providing rough numbers of cost so we scheduled a measuring for the following Monday. I told Everett we wanted to get things done ASAP since some of the carpet had been ripped up from damage. When Monday came along, Everett showed up promptly and measured the area. Before he left, he told my wife he would call me with a quote so we could order and get the installation scheduled. He confirmed my contact information with her and then left. Tuesday comes along and I still haven't received a call. By this time, I've read the reviews on this place but thought I'd give them a second chance because it had been a while since that last review. I called Carpet Exchange and left Everett a voicemail since it was "his day off". Six days later and no call. Nothing. Apparently they're doing so well they don't need to follow through with prospective clients. I didn't feel like I should be begging for their (apparently poor) service. I guess judging by the overwhelmingly poor reviews of this place, I can consider myself lucky that I only had to deal with an inconsiderate lack of follow through. They contacted the installer and was told they'd be out to huff then out in September 2016. It is now December 2016...still have scratches. They never came. Trust the reviews you're reading on here, this store is horrible. Recently purchased laminate to have installed in our basement and bathroom. Went through Carpet Exchange for everything. I've received better customer service from a $10 order at Chipotle. Here's the list of issues we ran into: 1. MASSIVELY underestimated project cost to get us to put down a deposit. Just be aware of everything you agree to pay for and everything they charge you for. LOTS of surprises in the bill. 2. Scheduling is a nightmare. I personally had to schedule with the installers myself because carpet exchange is so incompetent. Oh and BTW, the installers speak very little English. Nice guys, but unreliable and had to stay on top of them the entire time. 3. Getting a hold of someone at the store is impossible. EVERYTIME I called the store the receptionist would answer and state that they are busy with customers, "let me leave a sticky note" or have them call you back was the typical response. Not once did they call back. I had to call back and hound them until it was convenient for them to take my call. I can only assume they needed to come up with some story to cover their asses. Only writing this review because I now have confirmation that I'm paid in full. The store manager did provide some concessions on the bill but only after I pointed out the surprise charges in the bill. Never again. Spend the extra $ on somewhere decent. read more

Our basement flooded just as we were about to list our home for sale. After assessing the damage, we needed new carpeting installed as soon as possible. Nate K. was able to get exactly what I needed- great carpet at a great price, and installed four days later (though he did say this wasn't always possible). Home Depot was going to take a month and the quote was almost 1k more for lower quality carpet. Installed today with Johnny and they did an amazing job. On time, careful, cleaned up, and fixed a seam that I noticed. I see a lot of terrible reviews, but i had a terrific experience. read more

I've purchased multiple installed jobs for my properties at this store, one in an extremely time-sensitive emergency situation for my tenants, and the jobs have always went off without a hitch. I've also bought some really nice rugs here, and a few cheaper bound rugs for my dogs to sleep on. I went to carpet exchange to look for flooring for my kitchen, hallways and entry ways. I told them I had 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs & needed something that can hold up to the dog nails from scratching. I was told Cortec plus was kid proof & pet proof & wouldn't scratch. Well, after 4 months I have a ton of scratches on the floor. I have even discovered the soda can boxes on the floor of the pantry are scathing the floor when sliding them in & out. Carpet Exchange performed an inspection to see if this issue would be covered under the Cortec Warranty and The Cortec company told me I need to put mats and throw rugs down to prevent the floor from scratching. So I do not know why the salesperson sol us this product is it can't hold up to the dogs. This seems to scratch really easy like real hardwood floors. I did have issue with installation as well. All the trim was installed wrong. It took over 2 months for carpet exchange to fix this. They ordered the wrong style and than nailed all the plastic/vynal pieces to the floor which results in cracks in all the trim. They replaced them with a different style and used a double sided tape to attach them to the floor. All trim on my stairs are now sliding off. The glue is not holding and 5 months later we are still trying to get them to fix the trim. So scratched floors and trim falling off. I wouldn't recommend the product and make sure the installers know what they are doing. read more

I recently had a really bad experience with these guys. We committed to new floors marked "in stock" in the showroom, only to learn at point of purchase that, "Oh, they're not really in stock. But they can be here in 3 days." I needed the install date pinned down for my own work-schedule purposes. Well, three days becomes four, then seven. I could never get an answer from our contact / sales guy when the floors would be in, then delivered to the house, then installed (allowing for manufacturer-required 48-72 hour acclimatization). I finally contacted the manager, Chuck. He finally told me when the floors would arrive, the delivery date, and the install date. But then the delivery date came and went, and they never delivered the floors. We were dumbfounded, because it forced the install date to move unless we were willing to void the manufacturer warranty by disregarding acclimatization requirements. And we'd already arranged our work schedules for the agreed-upon install date. When we went into the store to figure out what was going on, the materials were there. They wouldn't offer an explanation as to why they hadn't been delivered on schedule. All they could say was, "Those acclimatization requirements don't matter," even though it says clearly on the flooring packaging that it'll void the warranty if you don't follow the requirements. And of course, on our first visit there, they emphasized the necessity of acclimatization. But as soon as they needed to cover up their screw up, those requirements didn't matter. The worst part of all was the care-free, sort of numb, indifferent attitude we got through the whole process. It was just a really bad experience -- one of the worst customer-service experiences I've had in years. I wouldn't go back in there if they were offering free floors, because they'll make a mess of it, then as you to disregard warranty-dependent requirements. It's just bad business and bad integrity. So I canceled the whole order, losing two weeks of a renovation process -- time that I didn't really have to spare. Yuck. Now we gotta start the process all over again. Thanks for nothing, Carpet Exchange. I recommend to people to avoid this place at all cost. What's going on there is not just sloppiness or incompetence -- it's a lack of integrity. We found a COREtec product we liked, checked out a flooring sample so we could take it home and keep it over the weekend. When I returned the flooring sample on Monday. I completed paperwork to have a floor person call us to schedule an appt to measure our sq.ft. for the new floor. Nearly 5 weeks has past... no call, no appointment, no measuring, nothing. What does a person have to do to spend money around here. I called Carpet Exchange today to let them know when our paperwork rotates to the top of the stack (or gets found), we're no longer interested. They didn't care. We recently purchased a new home and were trying to coordinate installing new flooring, movers, and a painter. Knowing we were juggling a lot we started our carpet and hardwood journey and found a great deal at Carpet Exchange... or so we thought. We found a flooring we liked at a great price and decided since it was a blow out sale to buy the remaining stock they had so that we had enough for our project. Two weeks later they came to measure the space and finalize the install and that's where things went south. I got the call no one wants. The wood they sold us was not available due to a claims issue, of which no one could really explain. I took time off work and went down to the store to resolve the problem, pick another comparable product and move forward. Unfortunate for us they did not have a comparable product, and we were having to look at a higher priced stock. Trying to be reasonable, I asked them to meet us in the middle since the cost of the flooring went from 7k to 11k it's all we wanted. They refused stating that the only available product was already discounted $2.00. Their solution was to call their claims warehouse and see if they could get a credit. A week later I've heard nothing back from their team. So I'm throwing my hands in the air demanding my money back and will cancel both the hardwood and carpeting orders. I feel like their business plan is nothing but a bait and switch tactic to get consumers into a more expensive product. Now we are getting ready to move and are having to start over again with new vendors. I will never use Carpet Exchange again and would highly discourage anyone else from using them as well. read more

We stopped in Carpet Exchange 30 mins. before closing time with a sample of our old carpet and a need to find an exact color replacement (but higher quality). The salesman (Jon) was great in helping us find exactly what we needed. Measurement happened a week later, and our carpet arrived and was ready to install a week after that! The installers were very careful in moving our furniture (for a very small upcharge), carrying the big rolls of carpet in without banging anything, and not damaging the baseboards during the installation. We can't see a single seam and are very happy with our new carpet! Our only complaint was that we didn't know what time the installers would be arriving until 20 mins before they showed up, which was an hour later than we expected for the "first thing in the morning" that we had requested. We would've appreciated a delivery window so we could have gone out to get breakfast, walked the dog, etc ... But otherwise, 4 paws up! :) read more

I went though the whole process of picking the wood, getting the measurements and estimate, it was 7,500 dollars, after I said ok they wanted 1/2 down and the balance the day before installation, I told the I would not pay the balance until the job is complete, they told me sorry Charlie, I wish I would have known before I went though all that, I have learned never to pay upfront, that is not the standard of the industry, so BEWARE of this. save some time. If your company had a 5 star or even a 4, I might consider paying upfront, because I know some people complain for no real reason, but 3? and I don't see any reason after this transaction for it to change, Your very large company has a trend and I have to believe in the averages, First Sal told me he would guarantee his work for 10 years while doing the measurements, then Gary told me on the phone one year, so red flags come up when you say "Trust Me". Sal came out to my house wearing a shirt saying Eagle Carpets and even left me a message on my phone saying this is Sal from Eagle Carpets. I kind of feel like I entered the Twilight Zone, I wish you and your very large company the best. First and foremost, the sales staff and management could care less about the customer. They are unresponsive, incompetent, and disorganized. I had to follow up FIVE different times to get my counters templated. I was lied to on multiple occasions about what was to be included in my quote, and of course, once templated my quote was off by $1,000!!! The day before my tear out and no one had called my wife to give her an approximate time of when they would be there. I had to call Carpet Exchange and my file had no record of who or when the counters would be torn out. I was given absolutely no instructions or documentation on how to keep care of my new quartz countertops. And finally, I was told that my tile order would take one week.... A week goes by and I send an email to the assistant manager asking when the backsplash would be installed....and her response: "Talk to your salesperson" (even though I had placed the order with her a week prior). Low and behold my salesperson lets me know that I will not have my backsplash installed for another month. I can honestly say I have never had worst customer experience in my life. read more
