They replaced all flooring in our home after a fire. Clare was great. Lux vinyl fine. Lumps under carpet in places. Hardwood floor installed improperly according to 3 different contractors. Per manufacturer's installation specs, joints should be minimum of 6 inches apart. Every area on first floor has multiple areas where this isn't the case -- voiding warranty per manufacturer & weakening floor. BJ has ignored emails, breach of contract letter from attorney and BBB complaint. Ambrose Restoration performed even worse work. UPDATE: I appreciate Clare's quick response. To address her comments. 1. Ambrose Restoration/Carpets was contractor. They farmed out installation to subcontractor. 2. The end joints are the main issue and were pointed out during installation. We have whole house humidifier that keeps humidity fairly constant. read more

Clare was so easy to work with and help coordinate our color choice. Clare and BJ were very helpful at letting me know the choices I had in carpets and advantages and disadvantages to the choices I made. I didn't feel pressured to choose the most expensive one. Clare's eye for color matching was helpful too. The installation crew, led by Joaquin, did a great job too! The only two minor complaints I had were 1) they ran out of time to put some of the heavier furniture back together after they finished (presumably to get to their next appointment), and 2) there were a few carpet staples left over after the installation. Neither are a big deal for me hence still 5 stars, but it would have been that extra icing on the cake. read more

We needed our carpet replaced as the old carpet was original to the house (~20 years) and it was time! We had multiple companies/people come out and give us quotes, and I was most impressed with Clare and BJ. Clare was literally the only person I scheduled with who asked me what styles I was looking for ahead of time so she could have them with her. Everyone else who came out to do a quote just brought whatever they had on hand and at least half of them didn't have what I was looking for. Clare also ordered three samples of the colors I was considering so I could discuss them with my husband and see them in different lighting as the day went on. The pricing was comparable to other quotes I received, which I felt was reasonable. The installation day went smoothly as well. The crew doing the install was great, they were very thorough and wanted to make sure I was satisfied. Overall I was very happy I went with Ambrose and though I don't have any plans to install new carpet again anytime soon, I'd happily recommend them to others. read more

Very nice people, but not great at cleaning carpet. The product they used left several stains on my carpet. They came back to clean again and it was far worse than after their first visit (and the stains didn't exist at all when I contacted them initially). When I called again, they weren't available to do any cleaning to correct the stains they left. I paid another carpet company (zerorez) to come repeat the work. Zerorez did a fantastic job and were able to restore the carpet to excellent condition. Again, very nice people but not good carpet cleaning and I essentially paid twice (once with Ambrose, once with Zerorez) to get the carpet clean.... read more

Reluctantly, we decided to replace all the carpet in our home. My old carpet was about 25 years old, and we didn't like it. I installed it as a bachelor, and so my wife never did like it. We had experience with Ambrose before, so we contacted Lady Clare to began the process. Carpet Lady Clare is knowledgeable and never tries to oversell, or push customers into a more expensive weave. When we got our estimate, we had a choice of four different carpets with associated prices. Boss BJ is impressive in that he knows carpet installation as well as Lady Clare knows the carpets. She did remark that she wouldn't sell a carpet she wasn't familiar with. Clare and my wife sorted through ten different samples at our house before we finally discussed styles and prices for the estimate. BJ had our house measured and ready to go in under an hour, explaining how everything would be done. I will be honest, carpeting an entire house is torture, if it is anything. We had TONS of fragile knickknacks to move. Ambrose's installers made the installation as easy as it could be, finishing the job in about five hours. We are careful about work done in our house, but, try as I might to complain, I couldn't. The installation is as perfect as it could be. When the estimate for my original selections came in over budget, BJ recommended a slight less expensive but equally as nice looking alternative. Recently we decided to choose Ambrose for our carpet services, let me say i was less than pleased. The office did not call us back after saying they would, 2 consecutive days. I know business's get busy, especially with the amount of good reviews this place had, so i wasn't bothered with that. When the employee showed up, he said " You got wet paint upstairs bro, I'm not gonna take the time to clean my wand and I have plans later today" He was not even willing to touch the downstairs that hadn't even been touched! Clearly the employee was far more worried about his plans outside of work and without saying another word he left. At double the price of other companies I had very high hopes for this company.
