Smoked Deviled eggs! Yes please!
Lauren S.

Every. Single. Bite. YUM! Always love our visits and hit it just in time for some new menu options. Beautiful seating, exceptional service! Grilled olives, deviled eggs, steak and frites, brick chicken... everything was perfect! Almost a completely boneless presentation of crispy skin on the chicken... insanely good. Kudos to the staff and kitchen. 6/5 stars.

Definitely good but very pricey, typical Austin place, for the bobos (bohemian bourgeois). Waitress with a British accent was super nice.

Gem salad with trout

Just the loveliest setting - both indoors and out. We sat outside for brunch on a Saturday, and it would have been easy to spend a few hours here. We ordered the Crisp Gem Lettuce Salad with trout, which they kindly split for us and was plenty for two. The salad was delcious and fish was perfectly cooked. My partner ordered the Cheeseburger, and while he enjoyed the sauces he did not love the burger itself, as it seemed to be slightly overcooked and dry. Only other qualm is prices are a bit high, but if you plan to stay a few hours may be well worth it.

Get the carrot cake muffin. Lots of sugar but it's so good I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't comment on that but the vibes at this place are on another level.

Carpenter Hall is inside the Carpenter Hotel. It's adorable! We had brunch there on a Saturday and we also stayed a couple of nights, at the hotel which is fantastic! The restaurant also serves drinks and food at the pool area, and we had ordered their delicious shoe string fries at the pool area a couple of times, but at the restaurant we just had a burger and their chips and dip, which were amazing. They did such a great job with the interiors and outdoor spaces at this hotel. It's so cute! It has a gorgeous pool with good service, a coffee shop, and beautiful landscaping throughout the grounds. We had a good rest here, it was quiet and the rooms reminded me of Palm Desert (CA) if you've been to the Ace Hotel there. It's very unique and they did a great job of using the local colors and textures. Will be back to the Carpenter hotel and the Hall! It's really close to Barton Springs.

We had such an amazing dinner here, was seriously blown away by our dishes - perfect for a date night or dinner with friends! Parking - street parking in the area is your best bet or valet Service - we came 7:30pm on a Thursday and the restaurant was pretty empty, we sat at the bar and our server was awesome. Food & drink - I got their prickly pair mocktail and it was amazing! was really impressed by their selection of non alcoholic drinks. We shared the chips and dip (chips were house made and you could tell), burrata (really unique flavor pairing with their balsamic strawberries) and the charred cabbage. Highly recommend all three dishes.

4.5 Always a great place for food, today joined friends this am and was greeted with a new policy change which I REALLY DISLIKE NO ESPRESSO drinks in the restaurant!!!! Cuz they're so busy serving brunch now U did go and order my cappuccino at the coffee bar area, thank goodness the line wasn't to long. The barista mentioned he believes this new policy is for weekends only, due to the brunch service. This is a crappy policy imo~ as if you've been here the coffee bar line can be 15/20 people long and while I am standing in a line for my cappuccino, I am missing my Sunday brekkie time with friends. Just don't like it

Meet up with some friends from bookclub! There's a spacious cafe area but it was closed when we arrived so we ordered appetizers at the restaurant. We sat on the patio. I wanted something similar to a Lychee Martini but they didn't have it so the waitress recommended a Blood Orange Martini ($15) which was not on the menu but, a pleasant surprise! and it was delicious! I also ordered the Hamachi Crudo ($19) It tasted incredible! The passion fruit was tangy--citrus forward, fresh and paired so well with the hamachi. This is not a shareable dish, more like a palate cleanser due to the size & It should definitely be plated and not served in a bowl because it was difficult to eat this way. Service was great and we didn't feel rushed. One of the best paced services I've had in a restaurant in a long time. The menu is limited and the prices are pretty unreasonable for some of the dishes but I'd come back again just for the Crudo! FYI--there's no onsite parking and street parking is a struggle in the Barton Springs area.

Unfortunately, we hoped for a better experience. Ambiance is certainly a plus. Carpenters Hall has a creative design with a modern and spacious aesthetic. We loved the idea to recycle the building (formerly a school). Service was okay. Host is very welcoming. Manager is vigilant and was moving around quite a bit to assist with service. Heaters were scattered throughout the patio, but not all worked. We, of course, did not have a functioning heater and were cold throughout our entire meal. A light blanket was offered...but it would've been better if we could move under a heater. The server provided basic needs, taking our order. A drink order was forgotten and, despite being told we'd have to leave by a certain hour, we waited beyond that time (about 20-30 minutes) for a check...still in the cold. Food was not at all worth the value. This was a Thanksgiving pre-fix meal...so not very flexible. The pork was dry, and the wagyu pretty fatty. Lots of potato options, and many of them dry. In fact, the whipped potatoes were not whipped...I'd say lightly mashed at the most. The mac and cheese VERY dry...like toasted noodle crumbles. I, honestly, can't help but think that much of this meal was prepared in advance and therefore not fresh when it was served. The meal, however, did start strong with a tangy butternut squash soup. We were quite surprised and thought, for sure, the rest of the meal would get continuously better. I don't know if I'll be back. Nice staff, but I think our party would have preferred making a simple meal at home.

What a beautiful experience from the moment you walk in! The vibe is so modern, yet cozy! The craft cocktails were amazing, the bartender Logan was phenomenal friendly, welcoming, professional and so speedy! Dinner was also great, we had the lamb, cheeseburgers, fries and strawberry butter biscuits. Would order all again!

Espresso Martini

Danny is what a bartender should be, he has this incredible ability to make you feel like the only person in the room. If you're lucky enough to get a seat in his section, cherish his service and the design of this beautifully designed and decorated restaurant. Dont even get me started on the spresso martini ‍

Wagyu tartare

Such a great NYE dinner with the best vibes! Everything we ordered was amazing. Scallion biscuits were so dense and soft yet light and crispy with each bite. Wagyu tartare was flavored to perfection and or waiter was the best. Beyond the waiter, the whole staff is always so sweet and welcoming. I couldn't imagine a better place to wrap up my 2024

Carpenter's Hall feels like you're at camp, where you feel safe and surrounded by a sense of community. However, unlike camp, the food here is elevated with a price point to match (ie: $12 for a yogurt parfait, $9 for hashbrowns, $17 for a cheeseburger.) I came here for a weekend brunch date, where they offer two categories: with eggs and without. I ordered a mimosa, but surprised to see it served in a tiny flute. For $10, you'd expect at least a wine glass! Overall, it's not a budget-friendly spot, but it's pretty cool and relaxed. Afterward, feel free to stop by the coffee shop around the corner and cozy up on the couch with a good book.

The food was incredibly creative while still feeling approachable and shareable. Every dish felt thoughtful and unique without being overcomplicated. The burrata with curry was unreal, the beet hummus was packed with flavor, the shrimp was perfect, and the desserts completely lived up to the hype. One of those menus where you immediately want to order more just to try everything. The atmosphere is also part of what makes it special. Tucked into a former laundromat in a quiet neighborhood, it has that effortlessly cool Austin feel. It was charming, relaxed, and unexpected. And the staff truly elevated the experience. Warm, polished, knowledgeable, and attentive without ever feeling pretentious. Absolutely worth the short drive from the airport area.

The asparagus Benny just made so much sense when you think about it. Eggs Benedict requires hollandaise and asparagus with hollandaise is always delicious. Why not put it all together for the best benny I've had in a long time? Just delicious! Lattes were cute and the perfect start to a brunch meal. We added lavender to mine and a little brown sugar flavor to hers. Good stuff! Turkish egg? Yep, exactly what I was thinking. What in the world is that. I don't know if it was a traditional dish but what an explosion of flavor. Put it all together on a perfectly toasted piece of bread and bam! Perfect accompaniment to a perfect brunch. Last but not least the Salmon Gravlax. Looks simple but by no means did it taste simple. Caviar on a buttery spread. Spicy pickles, perfectly cooked egg, seasoned tomatoes, rye bread. None of these are special in themselves but when combined, yes! Amazingness! Oh and the service? Wonderful! Attentive, kind, knowledgeable and welcoming. Space? Super cute! Felt like we were in a vacation town somewhere in Florida. Very retro, cool. Loved everything about this place. Zero complaints. Millions of compliments. Highly recommend!
