My friends brought one of their cakes to my house for my birthday. This cake was far better than those hundreds of dollars that you spend on a cake! Moist, yummy and delicious. I work out and watch my weight but, this was worth the two slice celebration! Go for it!! read more

I love this bakery and I love these cakes BUT I ordered a cake there for my wedding and they did not deliver it!! No one answered the phone when we called about it. No one called us (we had left several numbers with them when we special ordered it weeks in advance). Talked to them on Monday after the wedding on Saturday and the delivery manager said he doesn't work on Saturday? So the delivery people just overlooked our wedding cake! So. . .Great cake but NOT a Great Idea for a special occasion!! read more

I had a event for my business August 17th, 2015. I went online to order Carousel famous Red & Blue velvet cupcakes. I paid the additional fee to have them delivered in two days. The cupcakes arrived but were all damage. I had to have a friend go to their location and purchased 12 more cupcakes. Long story short. I sent an email to the company and explained the issue. The response time was very quick. They were very apologetic and offered to refund me my money or give me more cupcakes. Needless to say the cupcakes were great my guest loved them! Next time I will not order online for delivery. Customer service by Brittany was awesome!! read more

What a nice shop this is. I came here with my coworker and I was delighted to see they offered gluten-free cupcakes. They're in their own packages on the cupcake shelf and they had a small assortment available. Speedy and efficient service, which was great because we had a limited amount of time. The parking in the lot isn't great but a small price to pay for such great service. read more

I ordered a birthday cake from this company and was informed pretty late that the item was sold out. To compensate for this, they offered a $15 coupon off a future order from the site, but to qualify the item needed to be $50 or higher and most of their cakes were priced at $49, conveniently bypassing this threshold. Wanted to share this horrible experience to detour people on future purchases. read more

I know there are a lot of mixed reviews, but I ran up there at 3:00 on a Fri and the staff could not have been nicer. It totally put me in a great mood and the "older" lady was helping me and chatting with other workers and it was a great experience. The choc chip cake was delicious! read more

Horrifying customer service. I believe in supporting small business, yet they consistently have shown a careless attitude toward consumers. After the third MAJOR error on their part by shipping a cake to the wrong location I will NEVER buy from them again. Customer service is truly the lost art businesses need to rediscover. read more

Awesome cakes. I favorites are tiramisu, Black Forest and carrot. The cakes are always fresh and delicious and kosher :-) Oh yeah, they're also sold at my favorite deli. Moe's 1 gourmet @ 2738 Frederick Douglass Blvd Ny Ny 10039 read more

The cakes may be great, but the owners are a**h*les. Avoid this at all cost. If this review results in one person buying their baked goods elsewhere, it will have served its purpose. read more

I absolutely love Carousel Cakes! I've been a customer for about 7 years. Everything I tried has been good, from the cupcakes, to the cakes. My favorite is the the turtle one, and the blue velvet. I've ordered many cakes and I recently ordered a "Baby Shark" cake for my sons 1st birthday, it was late notice, but they were able to do it. It was moist, and tasted delicious. read more

A bunch of overpriced, not that great tasting cakes, I found a black hair in my cupcake! MMMMMMMmm. Besides that they are snotty. And pretend that they're very high class. Please! I've tasted much better for much less. They stink! By the way they had to pay Oprah thousands for her to pretend she liked their stanky fart cakes! read more

I recently purchased a cake from here for my birthday. I am going to start with the good, The cake was awesome , I order a red velvet cake (my favorite cake) with cream cheese frosting. I can officially say that this is by far the BEST red velvet cake I have ever had. It made Oprah's favorite things list for a reason. The disappointing part or the bad was when I was ready to celebrate my birthday with the cake. When you pick up the cake it comes frozen and you have you let it sit out a couple of hours to thaw. When the cake started to thaw it sank in so one side of my cake was totally messed up. This made for a very unattractive presentation, I was so disappointed because it took a away from my special moment. That is way I took a star away. But for taste Carousel Cakes gets 5 stars from me. read more

OMG!! Best Red & Blue velvet EVER !!!! My Boyfriend n I love their cakes ... highly recommended. read more

I got an apple crumb pie and blueberry crumb pie.. I can't quite put my finger on it, but both tasted a lot like perfume. I'm not sure what ingredient could have caused this very unpleasant taste but I highly suggest altering the recipe. Thank god I had other desserts for my thanksgiving spread and not too many people tried these, or else it would have been an embarrassing disaster. Hate to leave this kind of review but it needs to be brought to attention. read more

I love there cupcakes and cakes, especially the days when they give out free samples. I honestly some what have a favorite cupcake which is the blue velvet but after trying so much samples it lead me with the hardest decision what to get ever since, I feel like some of staff could be a little more friendly. But overall I love the varieties of the cakes and how delicious all of them are. Constancy hits the mark! read more

I didn't even like blue velvet until I tried theirs Impeccable service, delicious cupcakes

Why ask what I want on a cake if it's not going to be done? Specifically asked for, "No roses, please." Got big roses. Asked for a border of big, piped dollops and got leaves. The guy taking the order even said, "Yeah, I know what you want, but I don't know the name of it so I'm just gonna write piped border." I asked if that would be enough clarification for me to get what I asked for and he said again, "Yeah, sure." Apparently, it wasn't. The writing itself is alternating colors (again, not what I asked for) and is hard to read at best and sloppy at worst. Perhaps it's best to take a picture of the cake you want and tape it to the order form. Luckily the cakes are usually delicious so the sight of them can be overlooked. Stick with plain cakes. Avoid piping and writing and you're all set! read more

Wow. Just wow. I had the pleasure of been introduced to these delicious business when a friend of mine brought some of these cupcakes for a office luncheon. One bite and In was in love. The cupcakes were moist and soft. Normally I am more of a muffib man myself but the cupcakes that I had were amazing. We had a lemon pie muffin with sprinkles. The oreo muffin had a delicious rich layer of frosting which i devoured in about 30 seconds. It was that good. Heard the red velvet is highly reccomended and even comes in FULL CAKE SIZE. Definetely keeping these guys in mind for my upconing nephews bday! read more

Carousel Cakes - Good thing they bought more than one! - Bakeries Near Me - Nanuet, New York

My cake arrived intact and was very very good I would order one again Mater 20th anniversary great thank you so much

I've their cakes numerous times, and find their cakes to be hit or miss. With a saturation of bakeries in the area - I quite frankly find that there are simply better options around. The tiramisu is good, and most recently - I had a strawberry short cake that was seriously lacking in strawberry (sad). I'm not saying don't go here - but I'm not saying definitely do either. read more

Tons of choices - All very very VERY good. You can never go wrong with something from Carousel Cakes. I've had cakes, cupcakes and cookies from here. All delicious. My favorite would have to be the napoleon cake. Yum Yum YUM!!!! I guess the cupcakes here have been on the Oprah show so you know it's good! A friend bought me a red velvet cupcake and it was the best I've ever had anywhere. They also do regular cakes and other cupcakes. Definitely want another! read more

Ordered a custom cake for a military send off party, cake was good, but the decorations weren't what we had ordered, the "ribbon" we asked for around the cake was just a line, but the cake was great! They have a large variety of dairy free options which was great for our needs read more

Best cupcakes ever. Well some of the best I have ever had. For me, these cupcakes beat Magnolia, Baked by Melissa, Crumbs cupcakes. There's a reason why an item from their bakery made Oprah's top list for the holidays one year. Favorite cupcakes are, but not limited to Oreo, M&M, brownie, Reeces, Coconut, plain....You have to let the cupcake thaw outside for an hour or two (since they are frozen-dont be alarmed!) or let them be in the fridge....once the frosting thaws it does not do anything to the taste or consistency of the frosting or cake for that matter, it is light, creamy, airy, sweet but not too sweet, the cake part is soft and not dry, it is a perfect balance and quite possibly a perfect cupcake. They have multiple stores in NYC where their cupcakes are sold but I prefer to get them from their wholesale location in Nanuet, NY (its tucked away in a corner can be difficult to spot), over here you are gaurenteed an entire option off their menu. Their chocolate mousse cake, white/black mousse cake are delcious, some of the best mousse cakes I have ever had in NYC as well. Their pies are scrumptios, pecan, pumpkin (fav) and their nestle tollhouse pie are deliciouss with or without a scoop of icecream/whip cream on the side. This is a repeat spot over and over again!! read more

Best Red Velvet Cake EVER! And I hate red velvet.... but here its mmm so good. I also don't really care for sweets so you know its good. Great service! Pricey but for quality I am willing to pay extra and literally drive the extra 5 miles. read more

The only place to buy cakes in rockland. I've tried others and nothing beats the flavors here. Their cakes are never dry and might I use everyone's least favorite word and say they are MOIST! Red velvet is to die for and blue velvet is certainly amazing as well. Go in and buy some cupcakes and see what flavors you like. You won't be sorry. read more

Don't know why this place gets hype for its red velvet cake....it tastes like butter and the frosting is too sweet. I've had better.

Will not purchase from this bakery again. My 3 year old needed to use the bathroom. The brunette working the counter today, 4/14/18 said no. My 3 year old runs over and says "Mommy, look a bathroom, I need to go really bad". Really?? The place is not busy at all, you could have just let him use the bathroom. A little customer service GOES A LONG WAY. Plus, her vibe was not good prior to that. A military veteran asked for his usual military discount, that he has gotten there before. She dismissed him and said no, we don't offer discounts. You have lost my business. read more

Love this place!! Have never been disappointed with a cake I have purchased. I haven't ordered a custom cake yet but everything I have ordered off the menu has been amazing! I would even say better than Rockland Bakery cakes. The black and white mousse supreme cake is delicious. I am looking forward to trying the red velvet soon. read more

Recently had a specialty cake made there and turned out great - really enhanced the event and the cake was delicious!

I used Carousel Cakes for my cake for my wedding in Long Island City, NY and I could not be happier. The whole process was so easy and everyone was so nice. Not only was the cake absolutely beautiful, but the cake was DELICIOUS. People were coming up to me raving about how it was the best cake they had ever had. I will definitely be using Carousel Cakes for years to come! read more

The cakes are awesome, the only reason I give them 4 stars is because the lines can get rather long and you may have to stand outside. They need to figure out how to loop the lines around to accommodate more people. read more

Best. Cheesecake. EVER!! Light, fluuffy, airy and out of this world delicious! Put me in a bathtub & cover me in this cheesecake.

I will start by saying that Carousel Cakes has pretty solid Red and Blue Velvet cupcakes, one of the best I've had. The rest of their cupcakes are edible but nothing more special than a jazzed up cupcake you could make yourself. The carrot cake is one you shouldn't even bother with...want good carrot cake, go to Lloyd's in Riverdale (thank me later!:). The reason I am giving them ONE star is because of their SELFISH business practice. They TAKE a bunch of profit in yet aren't willing to help charitable organizations. Today I went for the $2 Tuesday cupcakes with a request to BUY them today (didn't ask for any freebies) and pick them up next Monday for a Toy Drive to benefit less fortunate children in the South Bronx. Since I wanted to PURCHASE 100, it would have been difficult to find a freezer to keep that quantity for 6 days. They flat out said NO and said the ONLY donation they give to charities is a 7 inch chocolate chip cake and there are no exceptions. I have supported this business for over TWO DECADES with countless referrals to friends and family. They will NEVER get another dime of my money as I live my life on the premise that we are blessed so that we can bless others and I support businesses that share that posture when it comes to the community, especially during the holidays. #ShameOnCarousel #TisTheSeason4GIVING #AndIDidntEvenAsk4Anything #ExceptToPayAWeekInAdvanceAndPickUpLater #OprahShouldDiscontinueHerSupport read more

Brittany and her team did the MOST outstanding job on my sons third birthday cake! She made a 3D firetruck cake and it both looked AND tasted equally amazing (not an easy task)! I have actually just had the most shocking experience dealing with a customer service (more or so the store's general manager) in my entire life. I was first quoted a certain price for a custom cake that I wanted to order, then had a conversation about the same cake but this time (20 minutes later) the price was $25 higher, which I was personally okay with, but needed to run it by family to confirm. When I called back two weeks later to move forward with ordering the cake, the price they had initially quoted me has now gone up $75 from what was originally quoted. When I asked to speak with the general manager if they can honor the price, his attitude to simply put, "we don't have time to deal with your complaints about the price increase since our designers come up with the price depending on the day, "complexity" of the design (side note: my design has never changed) so please take your business somewhere else." I am still pretty shocked to experience such a disinterest to honor the price they had quoted (granted my order was within their 2 weeks in advance request) and refuse to take my business because based on their cost/benefit analysis I wasn't worth their time....will not be back and will not recommend. read more

Great place to get any cake period. We had the pleasure of having them make their famous Red Velvet Cake tailored for our wedding this year. It was absolutely amazing. Every guest was so impressed by not only the presentation but of course the taste. Need a cake or even a pie they even have an crumb apple pie that my father-in-law says it's the only apple type pie he eats...(and he's very picky). Bottom line, I didn't even need Oprah to find them. Keep up the good work!!! read more
