I think she has taken me for a ride I should have gone with my Intuition and walked out of the Modesto office but my Son needed a eye exam I'm still waiting for his eye glasses Has she stole anyone's money and not give you the eye wear ? I'll update my review as soon as I receive my Son's eyeglasses hopefully I can put some positive feedback here Update September 10 2021 Dr Sachs is different but she came threw I tossed all of my suspicions of her out the window She is a great person might be a bit old school with her Equipment but for today's rent for office space in these buildings do you blame her I give her 4 stars for being herself and for a great pair of eyeglasses for my son . I do NOT recommend this crazy grumpy lady. She's nothing but spam I don't understand how she has a business. Definitely dishonest you can buy contacts online for much cheaper. She doesn't even deserve a star. It always has to be her way even if you can't see clear with the contacts that were prescribed by her she will just say well there's something going on with you, or other excuses and say that it's not the contacts prescribed by her fault. Don't waste your time at this optometrist you're better off somewhere else. The only thing worth your visit is the dog that runs around the office. I went to dr fachs office recently with my wife and small child to see about an eye exam. I arrived in her office and was not greeted in anyway. I was told to just find a seat. She was very pushy. I finished doing the eye exams and was told my eyes are 20/30 in one eye and I needed glasses, so I picked out a pair I liked and after I gave them to her she called to order them and told me I owe her $50. I got out a credit card to pay her and she told me she only takes cash. I became a little weary and left. Worst doctor I have ever been to. I should of left the second I stepped inside. When you get a gut feeling run with it. The office is not clean or professional at all. Dr. Sachs had nowhere to remove contact lenses and the sink area was very dirty. Her exam room is a hodgepodge of old equipment with an old beauty salon chair to sit in for the exam. I felt I was in a third world country getting an exam. She is also very vague about what her costs are. BEWARE! Dr. Sachs professionalism with patients is terrible. I do NOT recommend this crazy and dishonest "Optometrist." You only need to read halfway through this review to come to the same conclusion. Her Modesto facility is disgusting. Dirt, yes dirt on the walls, the inside is deteriorating and it smells of old animals. Her examination room consists of an old barber chair for her patients to sit on and ancient optometry equipment. She doesn't sanitize equipment either before it touches your eyes. She is not upfront and honest about service costs and bullies money out of you. Read closely...MY EYES DO NOT REQUIRE DILATION. That has been confirmed by a team of other Optometrists. She will demand that your eyes be dilated because she knows you drove alone. In order to avoid dilation she suddenly announces "Well then I have to use a special machine on you and it's $25 extra." Surprise! With the $15 copay and the $25 service fee I'm at $40. And she demands cash but doesn't tell you until it's too late and you have to go to the nearest bank. THEN she announces, I have astigmatism and she has to order samples of contacts for me to try on AND her exam fee is $150. It gets better. She then proceeded to INSULT my surprised reaction to her ridiculous fees, fees which she claims my insurance wouldn't cover. THEN tells me if I have a complaint to make it directly to her and not the insurance company. Oh don't worry, I'm going to the company AND the internet. It gets EVEN BETTER. SHE CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND BILLED THEM FOR SERVICES STEALING MY YEARLY BUDGET FOR CONTACTS AND GLASSES SO SHE COULD GET PAID. Even after I asked her to stop the examination because of her dishonesty in charges. I didn't ask for my prescription. Thankfully my insurance provider reversed the fees. She's not getting paid a dime. Her joke of a practice needs to be shut down. Hopefully this review helps future patients make an informed decision of doing business with her. read more

This woman is a coo-coo bird!! I got a pair of glasses from her several years back and I liked the glasses but buying for cash out of a carpetbag on a second floor one room closet really isn't my idea of a regular optometrist. I didn't know how she keeps her license. Won't go back and other optometrists in the area know her name and refer to her as "a bit eccentric and unorthodox". They keep their comments professional but obviously know she's an odd duck. read more

My husband, son and myself all went in for eye exams and found the office to be old and like another reviewer said, a hodge podge of outdated equipment. Her "bedside manner" is very unwelcoming and borderline rude. When you finish the exam she pushes you to go choose a frame from her stock and makes you feel as though you can't just get your prescription and shop elsewhere to have the frames and lenses filled. She only takes cash or check, which is very strange in this day and age where everything is done electronically. She scolded my son on the way he removes his glasses at least 8 times during our visit. My husbands glasses took 6 weeks to come back and when they did they were etched with some kind of factory number in the upper, outside corners. She also told him that his glasses were for distance driving only. If that's the case, she gave him the wrong prescription because he wears glasses 24/7, he can't see without them. In the end we were very unhappy with her service, mainly in how she treats her patients. I can't imagine she gets very many return customers. If she reads these reviews at all (every business owner should google their own business regularly to see what the feedback is) she'd know how easy it would be to repair her reputation by just treating people well. OMG Worst Dr and experience of an EYE Dr ever they didn't greet us in any way the papers were not even nice copies! From now on I will look up reviews before I go to any new Dr or business. She is very PUSHY. Crazy thingnis she is not equipped with a credit card machine she was all cashnor check only then I had to make the check out payable to her so weird. Everything is very old and miss matched in there! Also when I did pay her she just kinda snatched the check out if my hand and said thank you have a nice day and I asked for my husband and daughters prescriptions so we could go somewhere else. I was standing there waiting and her and another lady both turned around and said yes can we help you I was all can I have a receipt for my payment and she rummaged around for a paper and hand wrote it down for me!
